1 And the Lord said to Samuel, How long will you go on sorrowing for Saul, seeing that I have put him from his place as king over Israel? Take oil in your vessel and go; I will send you to Jesse, the Beth-lehemite: for I have got a king for myself among his sons.
1 L'Éternel dit à Samuel: Quand cesseras-tu de pleurer sur Saül? Je l'ai rejeté, afin qu'il ne règne plus sur Israël. Remplis ta corne d'huile, et va; je t'enverrai chez Isaï, Bethléhémite, car j'ai vu parmi ses fils celui que je désire pour roi.
1 Dúirt an Tiarna le Samúéil: “Cá fhad a bheidh tú buartha mar gheall ar Shól ó dhiúltaigh mise dó feasta mar rí ar Iosrael? Líon d'adharc d'ola agus imigh leat. Táim do do chur go Ieise ó Bheithil, óir tá rí roghnaithe agam dom féin i measc a chlann mhac.”
1 Y Dijo Jehová á Samuel: ¿Hasta cuándo has tú de llorar á Saúl, habiéndolo yo desechado para que no reine sobre Israel? Hinche tu cuerno de aceite, y ven, te enviaré á Isaí de Beth-lehem: porque de sus hijos me he provisto de rey.
1 Und der HERR sprach zu Samuel: Wie lange trägst du Leid um Saul, den ich verworfen habe, daß er nicht König sei über Israel? Fülle dein Horn mit Öl und gehe hin: ich will dich senden zu dem Bethlehemiter Isai; denn unter seinen Söhnen habe ich mir einen König ersehen.
2 And Samuel said, How is it possible for me to go? If Saul gets news of it he will put me to death. And the Lord said, Take a young cow with you and say, I have come to make an offering to the Lord.
2 Samuel dit: Comment irai-je? Saül l'apprendra, et il me tuera. Et l'Éternel dit: Tu emmèneras avec toi une génisse, et tu diras: Je viens pour offrir un sacrifice à l'Éternel.
2 D'fhreagair Samúéil: “Conas is féidir dom imeacht? Má fhaigheann Sól gaoth an fhocail, maróidh sé mé!” Agus dúirt an Tiarna: “Tabhair bearach leat, agus abair: ‘Tháinig mé chun íobairt a dhéanamh don Tiarna.’
2 Y dijo Samuel: ¿Cómo iré? Si Saúl lo entendiere, me matará. Jehová respondió: Toma contigo una becerra de la vacada, y di: A sacrificar á Jehová he venido.
2 Samuel aber sprach: Wie soll ich hingehen? Saul wird's erfahren und mich erwürgen. Der HERR sprach: Nimm ein Kalb von den Rindern zu dir und sprich: Ich bin gekommen, dem HERRN zu opfern.
3 And send for Jesse to be present at the offering, and I will make clear to you what you are to do: and you are to put the holy oil on him whose name I give you.
3 Tu inviteras Isaï au sacrifice; je te ferai connaître ce que tu dois faire, et tu oindras pour moi celui que je te dirai.
3 Tabhair cuireadh chun na híobartha do Ieise, agus taispeánfaidh mise duit cad a bheidh le déanamh agat. An té a ainmneoidh mé duit, déanfaidh tú é a ungadh dom.”
3 Y llama á Isaí al sacrificio, y yo te enseñaré lo que has de hacer; y ungirme has al que yo te dijere.
3 Und sollst Isai zum Opfer laden; da will ich dir weisen, was du tun sollst, daß du mir salbest, welchen ich dir sagen werde.
4 And Samuel did as the Lord said and came to Beth-lehem. And the responsible men of the town came out to him in fear and said, Do you come in peace?
4 Samuel fit ce que l'Éternel avait dit, et il alla à Bethléhem. Les anciens de la ville accoururent effrayés au-devant de lui et dirent: Ton arrivée annonce-t-elle quelque chose d'heureux?
4 Rinne Samúéil mar a dúirt an Tiarna leis agus chuaigh go Beithil. Tháinig seanóirí an bhaile ina airicis agus iad ar ballchrith agus dúirt siad: “An mar chara a thagann tú?”
4 Hizo pues Samuel como le dijo Jehová: y luego que él llegó á Beth-lehem, los ancianos de la ciudad le salieron á recibir con miedo, y dijeron: ¿Es pacífica tu venida?
4 Samuel tat, wie ihm der HERR gesagt hatte, und kam gen Bethlehem. Da entsetzten sich die Ältesten der Stadt und gingen ihm entgegen und sprachen: Ist's Friede, daß du kommst?
5 And he said, In peace: I have come to make an offering to the Lord: make yourselves clean and come with me to make the offering. And he made Jesse and his sons clean, and sent for them to be present at the offering.
5 Il répondit: Oui; je viens pour offrir un sacrifice à l'Éternel. Sanctifiez-vous, et venez avec moi au sacrifice. Il fit aussi sanctifier Isaï et ses fils, et il les invita au sacrifice.
5 Agus dúirt seisean: “Is ea, mar chara. Tháinig mé chun íobairt a dhéanamh don Tiarna. Déanaigí sibh féin a choisreacan agus tagaigí liom chun na híobartha.” Choisric sé Ieise agus a chlann mhac agus thug cuireadh chun na híobartha dóibh.
5 Y él respondió: Sí, vengo á sacrificar á Jehová; santificaos, y venid conmigo al sacrificio. Y santificando él á Isaí y á sus hijos, llamólos al sacrificio.
5 Er sprach: Ja, ich bin gekommen, dem HERRN zu opfern; heiligt euch und kommt zu mir zum Opfer. Und er heiligte Isai und seine Söhne und lud sie zum Opfer.
6 Now when they came, looking at Eliab, he said, Clearly the man of the Lord's selection is before him.
6 Lorsqu'ils entrèrent, il se dit, en voyant Éliab: Certainement, l'oint de l'Éternel est ici devant lui.
6 Ar theacht i láthair dóibh, chonaic sé Eilíáb, agus dúirt sé leis féin: “Caithfidh sé go bhfuil an té atá ungtha ag an Tiarna ansin os a chomhair.”
6 Y aconteció que como ellos vinieron, él vió á Eliab, y dijo: De cierto delante de Jehová está su ungido.
6 Da sie nun hereinkamen, sah er den Eliab an und gedachte, der sei vor dem HERRN sein Gesalbter.
7 But the Lord said to Samuel, Do not take note of his face or how tall he is, because I will not have him: for the Lord's view is not man's; man takes note of the outer form, but the Lord sees the heart.
7 Et l'Éternel dit à Samuel: Ne prends point garde à son apparence et à la hauteur de sa taille, car je l'ai rejeté. L'Éternel ne considère pas ce que l'homme considère; l'homme regarde à ce qui frappe les yeux, mais l'Éternel regarde au coeur.
7 Ach dúirt an Tiarna le Samúéil: “Ná bac a dhreach ná a airde, mar diúltaím dó; ní thugann Dia breith mar a thugann an duine; breathnaíonn an duine an cló ach breathnaíonn an Tiarna an croí.”
7 Y Jehová respondió á Samuel: No mires á su parecer, ni á lo grande de su estatura, porque yo lo desecho; porque Jehová mira no lo que el hombre mira; pues que el hombre mira lo que está delante de sus ojos, mas Jehová mira el corazón.
7 Aber der HERR sprach zu Samuel: Sieh nicht an seine Gestalt noch seine große Person; ich habe ihn verworfen. Denn es geht nicht, wie ein Mensch sieht: ein Mensch sieht, was vor Augen ist; der HERR aber sieht das Herz an.
8 Then Jesse sent for Abinadab and made him come before Samuel. And he said, The Lord has not taken this one.
8 Isaï appela Abinadab, et le fit passer devant Samuel; et Samuel dit: L'Éternel n'a pas non plus choisi celui-ci.
8 Ansin ghlaoigh Ieise chuige ar Aibíonádáb agus thug os comhair Shamúéil é, agus dúirt seisean: “Ní hé seo an duine a roghnaigh an Tiarna ach oiread.”
8 Entonces llamó Isaí á Abinadab, é hízole pasar delante de Samuel, el cual dijo: Ni á éste ha elegido Jehová.
8 Da rief Isai den Abinadab und ließ ihn an Samuel vorübergehen. Und er sprach: Diesen hat der HERR auch nicht erwählt.
9 Then Jesse made Shammah come before him. And he said, The Lord has not taken this one.
9 Isaï fit passer Schamma; et Samuel dit: L'Éternel n'a pas non plus choisi celui-ci.
9 Ansin thug Ieise Seamá os comhair Shamúéil, ach dúirt Samúéil: “Ní hé seo an duine a roghnaigh an Tiarna ach oiread.”
9 Hizo luego pasar Isaí á Samma. Y él dijo: Tampoco á éste ha elegido Jehová.
9 Da ließ Isai vorübergehen Samma. Er aber sprach: Diesen hat der HERR auch nicht erwählt.
10 And Jesse made his seven sons come before Samuel. And Samuel said to Jesse, The Lord has not taken any of these.
10 Isaï fit passer ses sept fils devant Samuel; et Samuel dit à Isaï: L'Éternel n'a choisi aucun d'eux.
10 Thug Ieise a sheachtar mac ansin os comhair Shamúéil. Ach dúirt Samúéil le Ieise: “Ní hiad seo a roghnaigh an Tiarna.”
10 E hizo pasar Isaí sus siete hijos delante de Samuel; mas Samuel dijo á Isaí: Jehová no ha elegido á éstos.
10 Da ließ Isai seine sieben Söhne an Samuel vorübergehen. Aber Samuel sprach zu Isai: Der HERR hat der keinen erwählt.
11 Then Samuel said to Jesse, Are all your children here? And he said, There is still the youngest, and he is looking after the sheep. And Samuel said to Jesse, Send and make him come here: for we will not take our seats till he is here.
11 Puis Samuel dit à Isaï: Sont-ce là tous tes fils? Et il répondit: Il reste encore le plus jeune, mais il fait paître les brebis. Alors Samuel dit à Isaï: Envoie-le chercher, car nous ne nous placerons pas avant qu'il ne soit venu ici.
11 D'fhiafraigh sé ansin de Ieise: “An bhfuil do chlann mhac go léir anseo?” “Tá mac eile fós agam,” ar seisean, “an té is óige; ach féach, tá sé ag aoireacht na gcaorach.” Dúirt Samúéil le Ieise: “Cuir fios air agus tabhair leat é; ní shuífimid chun boird go dtaga sé.”
11 Entonces dijo Samuel á Isaí: ¿Hanse acabado los mozos? Y él respondió: Aun queda el menor, que apacienta las ovejas. Y dijo Samuel á Isaí: Envía por él, porque no nos asentaremos á la mesa hasta que él venga aquí.
11 Und Samuel sprach zu Isai: Sind das die Knaben alle? Er aber sprach: Es ist noch übrig der jüngste; und siehe, er hütet die Schafe. Da sprach Samuel zu Isai; Sende hin und laß ihn holen; denn wir werden uns nicht setzen, bis er hierherkomme.
12 So he sent and made him come in. Now he had red hair and beautiful eyes and pleasing looks. And the Lord said, Come, put the oil on him, for this is he.
12 Isaï l'envoya chercher. Or il était blond, avec de beaux yeux et une belle figure. L'Éternel dit à Samuel: Lève-toi, oins-le, car c'est lui!
12 Chuir sé fios air agus thug isteach é; buachaill naíonta ab ea é, le súile lonracha, agus scéimh ina chló. Dúirt an Tiarna: “Seo leat, agus déan é a ungadh mar is é seo é.”
12 Envió pues por él, é introdújolo; el cual era rubio, de hermoso parecer y de bello aspecto. Entonces Jehová dijo: Levántate y úngelo, que éste es.
12 Da sandte er hin und ließ ihn holen. Und er war bräunlich, mit schönen Augen und guter Gestalt. Und der HERR sprach: Auf! und salbe ihn; denn der ist's.
13 Then Samuel took the bottle of oil, and put the oil on him there among his brothers: and from that day the spirit of the Lord came on David with power. So Samuel went back to Ramah.
13 Samuel prit la corne d'huile, et l'oignit au milieu de ses frères. L'esprit de l'Éternel saisit David, à partir de ce jour et dans la suite. Samuel se leva, et s'en alla à Rama.
13 Ansin thóg Samúéil an adharc ola agus rinne é a ungadh ansiúd mar a raibh aige fara a dheartháireacha. Tháinig spiorad an Tiarna agus luigh sé ar Dháiví agus d'fhan leis ón lá sin amach. Maidir le Samúéil, d'éirigh sé agus d'imigh go Rámá. Dáiví i Seirbhís Shóil
13 Y Samuel tomó el cuerno del aceite, y ungiólo de entre sus hermanos: y desde aquel día en adelante el espíritu de Jehová tomó á David. Levantóse luego Samuel, y volvióse á Rama.
13 Da nahm Samuel sein Ölhorn und salbte ihn mitten unter seinen Brüdern. Und der Geist des HERRN geriet über David von dem Tage an und fürder. Samuel aber machte sich auf und ging gen Rama.
14 Now the spirit of the Lord had gone from Saul, and an evil spirit from the Lord was troubling him.
14 L'esprit de l'Éternel se retira de Saül, qui fut agité par un mauvais esprit venant de l'Éternel.
14 Thréig spiorad an Tiarna Sól agus bhuair drochspiorad ón Tiarna é.
14 Y el espíritu de Jehová se apartó de Saúl, y atormentábale el espíritu malo de parte de Jehová.
14 Und der Geist des HERRN wich von Saul, und ein böser Geist vom HERRN machte ihn unruhig.
15 And Saul's servants said to him, See now, an evil spirit from God is troubling you.
15 Les serviteurs de Saül lui dirent: Voici, un mauvais esprit de Dieu t'agite.
15 Dúirt a ghiollaí le Sól: “Sin drochspiorad ón Tiarna do do bhuaireamh.
15 Y los criados de Saúl le dijeron: He aquí ahora, que el espíritu malo de parte de Dios te atormenta.
15 Da sprachen die Knechte Sauls zu ihm: Siehe, ein böser Geist von Gott macht dich sehr unruhig;
16 Now give orders to your servants who are here before you to go in search of a man who is an expert player on a corded instrument: and it will be that when the evil spirit from God is on you, he will make music for you on his instrument, and you will get well.
16 Que notre seigneur parle! Tes serviteurs sont devant toi. Ils chercheront un homme qui sache jouer de la harpe; et, quand le mauvais esprit de Dieu sera sur toi, il jouera de sa main, et tu seras soulagé.
16 Tugadh an tiarna seo againn ordú do na giollaí atá ag freastal ort duine oilte ar an gcruit a lorg; nuair a bheidh an drochspiorad ón Tiarna do do chiapadh, seinnfidh sé an chruit duit agus tiocfaidh biseach ort.”
16 Diga pues nuestro señor á tus siervos que están delante de ti, que busquen alguno que sepa tocar el arpa; para que cuando fuere sobre ti el espíritu malo de parte de Dios, él taña con su mano, y tengas alivio.
16 unser Herr sage seinen Knechten, die vor ihm stehen, daß sie einen Mann suchen, der auf der Harfe wohl spielen könne, auf daß, wenn der böse Geist Gottes über dich kommt, er mit seiner Hand spiele, daß es besser mit dir werde.
17 And Saul said to his servants, Then get me a man who is an expert player, and make him come to me.
17 Saül répondit à ses serviteurs: Trouvez-moi donc un homme qui joue bien, et amenez-le-moi.
17 Dúirt Sól lena ghiollaí: “Faighigí dom fear a sheinneann go maith agus tugaigí anseo chugam é!”
17 Y Saúl respondió á sus criados: Buscadme pues ahora alguno que taña bien, y traédmelo.
17 Da sprach Saul zu seinen Knechten: Seht nach einem Mann, der des Saitenspiels kundig ist, und bringt ihn zu mir.
18 Then one of the servants in answer said, I have seen a son of Jesse, the Beth-lehemite, who is expert at playing, and a strong man and a man of war; and he is wise in his words, and pleasing in looks, and the Lord is with him.
18 L'un des serviteurs prit la parole, et dit: Voici, j'ai vu un fils d'Isaï, Bethléhémite, qui sait jouer; c'est aussi un homme fort et vaillant, un guerrier, parlant bien et d'une belle figure, et l'Éternel est avec lui.
18 D'fhreagair ógánach díobh: “Chonaic mé, féach, mac le Ieise ó Bheithil, ceoltóir cumasach, gaiscíoch agus laoch gaile, fear ciallmhar caint agus córach cló, agus tá an Tiarna leis.”
18 Entonces uno de los criados respondió, diciendo: He aquí yo he visto á un hijo de Isaí de Beth-lehem, que sabe tocar, y es valiente y vigoroso, y hombre de guerra, prudente en sus palabras, y hermoso, y Jehová es con él.
18 Da antwortete der Jünglinge einer und sprach: Siehe, ich habe gesehen einen Sohn Isais, des Bethlehemiten, der ist des Saitenspiels kundig; ein rüstiger Mann und streitbar und verständig in seinen Reden und schön, und der HERR ist mit ihm.
19 So Saul sent his servants to Jesse and said, Send me your son David who is with the sheep.
19 Saül envoya des messagers à Isaï, pour lui dire: Envoie-moi David, ton fils, qui est avec les brebis.
19 Chuir Sól teachtairí go Ieise dá bhrí sin á rá: “Cuir chugam Dáiví do mhac atá leis na caoirigh.”
19 Y Saúl envió mensajeros á Isaí, diciendo: Envíame á David tu hijo, el que está con las ovejas.
19 Da sandte Saul Boten zu Isai und ließ ihm sagen: Sende deinen Sohn David zu mir, der bei den Schafen ist.
20 And Jesse took five cakes of bread and a skin of wine and a young goat and sent them to Saul by David.
20 Isaï prit un âne, qu'il chargea de pain, d'une outre de vin et d'un chevreau, et il envoya ces choses à Saül par David, son fils.
20 Fuair Ieise [cúig] bhuilín aráin, seithe fíona agus meannán agus chuir go Sól iad le Dáiví a mhac.
20 Y tomó Isaí un asno cargado de pan, y un vasija de vino y un cabrito, y enviólo á Saúl por mano de David su hijo.
20 Da nahm Isai einen Esel mit Brot und einen Schlauch Wein und ein Ziegenböcklein und sandte es Saul durch seinen Sohn David.
21 And David came to Saul, waiting before him: and he became very dear to Saul, who made him his servant, giving him the care of his arms.
21 David arriva auprès de Saül, et se présenta devant lui; il plut beaucoup à Saül, et il fut désigné pour porter ses armes.
21 Tháinig Dáiví go Sól ar an tslí sin, agus chuaigh ar seirbhís chuige. Bhí an- chion ag Sól air, agus ceapadh Dáiví ina fhear iompair airm dó.
21 Y viniendo David á Saúl, estuvo delante de él: y amólo él mucho, y fué hecho su escudero.
21 Also kam David zu Saul und diente vor ihm, und er gewann ihn sehr lieb, und er ward sein Waffenträger.
22 And Saul sent to Jesse saying, Let David be with me, for he is pleasing to me.
22 Saül fit dire à Isaï: Je te prie de laisser David à mon service, car il a trouvé grâce à mes yeux.
22 Chuir Sól scéala chun Ieise ansin: “Lig do Dháiví bheith ar seirbhís agam, mar fuair sé gean mo chroí.”
22 Y Saúl envió á decir á Isaí: Yo te ruego que esté David conmigo; porque ha hallado gracia en mis ojos.
22 Und Saul sandte zu Isai und ließ ihm sagen: Laß David vor mir bleiben; denn er hat Gnade gefunden vor meinen Augen.
23 And whenever the evil spirit from God came on Saul, David took his instrument and made music: so new life came to Saul, and he got well, and the evil spirit went away from him.
23 Et lorsque l'esprit de Dieu était sur Saül, David prenait la harpe et jouait de sa main; Saül respirait alors plus à l'aise et se trouvait soulagé, et le mauvais esprit se retirait de lui.
