1 Then about a month after this, Nahash the Ammonite came up and put his forces in position for attacking Jabesh-gilead: and all the men of Jabesh said to Nahash, Make an agreement with us and we will be your servants.
1 Nachasch, l'Ammonite, vint assiéger Jabès en Galaad. Tous les habitants de Jabès dirent à Nachasch: Traite alliance avec nous, et nous te servirons.
1 [Timpeall mí ina dhiaidh sin], ghabh Nácháis an tAmónach suas agus chuir léigear ar Iáibéis Gileád. Dúirt muintir Iáibéis go léir le Nácháis: “Déan conradh linn agus beimid faoi do réir.”
1 Y Subio Naas Ammonita, y asentó campo contra Jabes de Galaad. Y todos los de Jabes dijeron á Naas: Haz alianza con nosotros, y te serviremos.
1 Es zog aber herauf Nahas, der Ammoniter, und belagerte Jabes in Gilead. Und alle Männer zu Jabes sprachen zu Nahas: Mache einen Bund mit uns, so wollen wir dir dienen.
2 And Nahash the Ammonite said to them, I will make an agreement with you on this condition, that all your right eyes are put out; so that I may make it a cause of shame to all Israel.
2 Mais Nachasch, l'Ammonite, leur répondit: Je traiterai avec vous à la condition que je vous crève à tous l'oeil droit, et que j'imprime ainsi un opprobre sur tout Israël.
2 Ach is é a dúirt Nácháis an tAmónach leo: “Déanfaidh mé conradh libh ar an gcoinníoll seo amháin .i. go mbainfidh mé an tsúil dheas as gach duine agaibh; tabharfaidh mé an tarcaisne sin d'Iosrael go léir.”
2 Y Naas Ammonita les respondió: Con esta condición haré alianza con vosotros, que á cada uno de todos vosotros saque el ojo derecho, y ponga esta afrenta sobre todo Israel.
2 Aber Nahas, der Ammoniter, antwortete ihnen: Darin will ich einen Bund mit euch machen, daß ich euch das rechte Auge aussteche und bringe damit Schmach über ganz Israel.
3 Then the responsible men of Jabesh said to him, Give us seven days, so that we may send men to every part of Israel: and then, if no one comes to our help, we will come out to you.
3 Les anciens de Jabès lui dirent: Accorde-nous une trêve de sept jours, afin que nous envoyions des messagers dans tout le territoire d'Israël; et s'il n'y a personne qui nous secoure, nous nous rendrons à toi.
3 Dúirt seanóirí Iáibéis leis: “Tabhair cairde seacht lá dúinn i dtreo go gcuirfimid teachtairí ar fud críocha Iosrael, agus mura dtagann aon duine i gcabhair orainn, rachaimid anonn chugaibh.”
3 Entonces los ancianos de Jabes le dijeron: Danos siete días, para que enviemos mensajeros á todos los términos de Israel; y si nadie hubiere que nos defienda, saldremos á ti.
3 Da sprachen zu ihm die Ältesten zu Jabes: Gib uns sieben Tage, daß wir Boten senden in alles Gebiet Israels; ist dann niemand, der uns rette, so wollen wir zu dir hinausgehen.
4 So they sent representatives to Saul's town Gibeah, and these gave the news to the people: and all the people gave themselves to weeping.
4 Les messagers arrivèrent à Guibea de Saül, et dirent ces choses aux oreilles du peuple. Et tout le peuple éleva la voix, et pleura.
4 Nuair a tháinig na teachtairí go Gibeá le Sól agus a d'insíodar an scéala don phobal, chromadarsan ar ghol agus olagón.
4 Y llegando los mensajeros á Gabaa de Saúl, dijeron estas palabras en oídos del pueblo; y todo el pueblo lloró á voz en grito.
4 Da kamen die Boten gen Gibea Sauls und redeten solches vor den Ohren des Volks. Da hob alles Volk seine Stimme auf und weinte.
5 Now Saul came from the field, driving the oxen before him; and he said, Why are the people weeping? And they gave him word of what the men of Jabesh had said.
5 Et voici, Saül revenait des champs, derrière ses boeufs, et il dit: Qu'a donc le peuple pour pleurer? On lui raconta ce qu'avaient dit ceux de Jabès.
5 Bhí Sól ag filleadh ón ngort i ndiaidh a dhamh. Dúirt Sól: “Cad tá orthu? Cén fáth a bhfuil an pobal ag lógóireacht?” D'insíodar dó a raibh ráite ag na fir ó Iáibéis.
5 Y he aquí Saúl que venía del campo, tras los bueyes; y dijo Saúl: ¿Qué tiene el pueblo, que lloran? Y contáronle las palabras de los hombres de Jabes.
5 Und siehe, da kam Saul vom Felde hinter den Rindern her und sprach: Was ist dem Volk, daß es weint? Da erzählten sie ihm die Sache der Männer von Jabes.
6 And at their words, the spirit of God came on Saul with power, and he became very angry.
6 Dès que Saül eut entendu ces choses, il fut saisi par l'esprit de Dieu, et sa colère s'enflamma fortement.
6 Luigh an Spiorad Naomh go tréan ar Shól ar chlos na bhfocal sin agus tháinig fraoch feirge air.
6 Y el espíritu de Dios arrebató á Saúl en oyendo estas palabras, y encendióse en ira en gran manera.
6 Da geriet der Geist Gottes über ihn, als er solche Worte hörte, und sein Zorn ergrimmte sehr,
7 And he took two oxen and, cutting them up, sent them through all the land of Israel by the hand of runners, saying, If any man does not come out after Saul and Samuel, this will be done to his oxen. And the fear of the Lord came on the people and they came out like one man.
7 Il prit une paire de boeufs, et les coupa en morceaux, qu'il envoya par les messagers dans tout le territoire d'Israël, en disant: Quiconque ne marchera pas à la suite de Saül et de Samuel, aura ses boeufs traités de la même manière. La terreur de l'Éternel s'empara du peuple, qui se mit en marche comme un seul homme.
7 Rug sé ar sheisreach damh, ghearr ina spólaí iad, agus sheol sé ó cheann ceann Iosrael iad trí lámha teachtairí, á rá: “An té nach máirséalfaidh le Sól agus le Samúéil, sin í an íde a thabharfar ar a dhaimh!” Tháinig sceimhle roimh an Tiarna ar an bpobal ansin agus mháirseáladar go léir amach d'aonbhuíon.
7 Y tomando un par de bueyes, cortólos en piezas, y enviólas por todos los términos de Israel por mano de mensajeros, diciendo: Cualquiera que no saliere en pos de Saúl y en pos de Samuel, así será hecho á sus bueyes. Y cayó temor de Jehová sobre el pueblo, y salieron como un solo hombre.
7 und er nahm ein paar Ochsen und zerstückte sie und sandte in alles Gebiet Israels durch die Boten und ließ sagen: Wer nicht auszieht, Saul und Samuel nach, des Rinder soll man also tun. Da fiel die Furcht des HERRN auf das Volk, daß sie auszogen wie ein Mann.
8 And he had them numbered in Bezek: the children of Israel were three hundred thousand, and the men of Judah thirty thousand.
8 Saül en fit la revue à Bézek; les enfants d'Israël étaient trois cent mille, et les hommes de Juda trente mille.
8 Rinne sé iad a iniúchadh ag Beizic; bhí trí chéad míle de chlann Iosrael ann agus tríocha míle fear ó Iúdá.
8 Y contóles en Bezec; y fueron los hijos de Israel trescientos mil, y treinta mil los hombres de Judá.
8 Und er musterte sie zu Besek; und der Kinder Israel waren dreihundert mal tausend Mann und der Kinder Juda dreißigtausend.
9 Then he said to the representatives who had come, Say to the men of Jabesh-gilead, Tomorrow, by the time the sun is high, you will be made safe. And the representatives came and gave the news to the men of Jabesh; and they were glad.
9 Ils dirent aux messagers qui étaient venus: Vous parlerez ainsi aux habitants de Jabès en Galaad: Demain vous aurez du secours, quand le soleil sera dans sa chaleur. Les messagers portèrent cette nouvelle à ceux de Jabès, qui furent remplis de joie;
9 Dúirt siad ansin leis na teachtairí a bhí tagtha: “Abraigí le muintir Iáibéis Gileád: ‘Tiocfar i gcabhair oraibh amárach faoin am a mbeidh teas sa ghrian.’ ” D'imigh na teachtairí agus thugadar an scéala sin go muintir Iáibéis agus chuir sin lúcháir orthu.
9 Y respondieron á los mensajeros que habían venido: Así diréis á los de Jabes de Galaad: Mañana en calentando el sol, tendréis salvamento. Y vinieron los mensajeros, y declaráronlo á los de Jabes, los cuales se holgaron.
9 Und sie sagten den Boten, die gekommen waren: Also sagt den Männern zu Jabes in Gilead: Morgen soll euch Hilfe geschehen, wenn die Sonne beginnt heiß zu scheinen. Da die Boten kamen und verkündigten das den Männern zu Jabes, wurden sie froh.
10 So the men of Jabesh said, Tomorrow we will come out to you, and you may do to us whatever seems good to you.
10 et qui dirent aux Ammonites: Demain nous nous rendrons à vous, et vous nous traiterez comme bon vous semblera.
10 Dúirt muintir Iáibéis [le Nácháis]: “Rachaimid anonn chugaibh amárach, agus ní miste daoibh bhur rogha rud a dhéanamh linn.”
10 Y los de Jabes dijeron: Mañana saldremos á vosotros, para que hagáis con nosotros todo lo que bien os pareciere.
10 Und die Männer von Jabes sprachen: Morgen wollen wir zu euch hinausgehen, daß ihr uns tut alles, was euch gefällt.
11 Now on the day after, Saul put the people into three bands, and in the morning watch they came to the tents of the Ammonites, and they went on attacking them till the heat of the day: and those who were not put to death were put to flight in every direction, so that no two of them were together.
11 Le lendemain, Saül divisa le peuple en trois corps. Ils pénétrèrent dans le camp des Ammonites à la veille du matin, et ils les battirent jusqu'à la chaleur du jour. Ceux qui échappèrent furent dispersés, et il n'en resta pas deux ensemble.
11 Lá arna mhárach roinn Sól an slua ina thrí dhíorma; ropadar isteach sa champa le faire na maidine agus bhíodar ag déanamh áir ar na hAmónaigh go corp an lae. Cuireadh a leithéid sin de scaipeadh ar fhuíoll an áir nár fagadh beirt díobh le chéile.
11 Y el día siguiente dispuso Saúl el pueblo en tres escuadrones, y entraron en medio del real á la vela de la mañana, é hirieron á los Ammonitas hasta que el día calentaba: y los que quedaron fueron dispersos, tal que no quedaron dos de ellos juntos.
11 Und des andern Morgens stellte Saul das Volk in drei Haufen, und sie kamen ins Lager um die Morgenwache und schlugen die Ammoniter, bis der Tag heiß ward; welche aber übrigblieben, wurden also zerstreut, daß ihrer nicht zwei beieinander blieben.
12 And the people said to Samuel, Who was it who said, Is Saul to be our king? give the men up, so that we may put them to death.
12 Le peuple dit à Samuel: Qui est-ce qui disait: Saül régnera-t-il sur nous? Livrez ces gens, et nous les ferons mourir.
12 Dúirt na daoine le Samúéil ansin: “Cé a dúirt ‘An mbeidh Sól ina rí orainn?’ Tugtar anseo chugainn iad le cur chun báis.”
12 El pueblo entonces dijo á Samuel: ¿Quiénes son lo que decían: Reinará Saúl sobre nosotros? Dad nos esos hombres, y los mataremos.
12 Da sprach das Volk zu Samuel: Wer sind die, die da sagten: Sollte Saul über uns herrschen? Gebt sie her, die Männer, daß wir sie töten.
13 And Saul said, Not a man is to be put to death today: for today the Lord has made Israel safe.
13 Mais Saül dit: Personne ne sera mis à mort en ce jour, car aujourd'hui l'Éternel a opéré une délivrance en Israël.
13 Ach d'fhreagair Sól: “Ní chuirfear aon duine chun báis inniu, óir rinne an Tiarna fuascailt ar Iosrael inniu.”
13 Y Saúl dijo: No morirá hoy ninguno, porque hoy ha obrado Jehová salud en Israel.
13 Saul aber sprach: Es soll auf diesen Tag niemand sterben; denn der HERR hat heute sein Heil gegeben in Israel.
14 Then Samuel said to the people, Come, let us go to Gilgal and there make the kingdom strong in the hands of Saul.
14 Et Samuel dit au peuple: Venez, et allons à Guilgal, pour y confirmer la royauté.
14 Dúirt Samúéil ansin leis an bpobal: “Téanaigí go Gilgeál agus déanaimis an ríocht a dhearbhú arís ann.”
14 Mas Samuel dijo al pueblo: Venid, vamos á Gilgal para que renovemos allí el reino.
14 Samuel sprach zum Volk: Kommt, laßt uns gen Gilgal gehen und das Königreich daselbst erneuen.
15 So all the people went to Gilgal; and there in Gilgal they made Saul king before the Lord; and peace-offerings were offered before the Lord; and there Saul and all the men of Israel were glad with great joy.
15 Tout le peuple se rendit à Guilgal, et ils établirent Saül pour roi, devant l'Éternel, à Guilgal. Là, ils offrirent des sacrifices d'actions de grâces devant l'Éternel; et là, Saül et tous les hommes d'Israël se livrèrent à de grandes réjouissances.
