1 Then Samuel took the bottle of oil, and put the oil on his head and gave him a kiss and said, Is not the Lord with the holy oil making you ruler over Israel, his people? and you will have authority over the people of the Lord, and you will make them safe from the hands of their attackers round about them, and this will be the sign for you:
1 Samuel prit une fiole d'huile, qu'il répandit sur la tête de Saül. Il le baisa, et dit: L'Éternel ne t'a-t-il pas oint pour que tu sois le chef de son héritage?
1 Thóg Samúéil soitheach ola ansin agus dhoirt ar cheann Shóil é agus phóg é agus dúirt: “Nach ndearna an Tiarna thú a ungadh le go mbeifeá i do thaoiseach [ar do phobal Iosrael? Rialóidh tú pobal an Tiarna agus saorfaidh tú iad ó chumhacht a naimhde atá ina dtimpeall. Beidh sé seo mar chomhartha] agat gur cheap an Tiarna thú i do thaoiseach ar a oidhreacht.
1 Tomando entonces Samuel una ampolla de aceite, derramóla sobre su cabeza, y besólo, y díjole: ¿No te ha ungido Jehová por capitán sobre su heredad?
1 Da nahm Samuel ein Ölglas und goß auf sein Haupt und küßte ihn und sprach: Siehst du, daß dich der HERR zum Fürsten über sein Erbteil gesalbt hat?
2 When you have gone away from me today, you will see two men by the resting-place of Rachel's body, in the land of Benjamin at Zelzah; and they will say to you, The asses which you went in search of have come back, and now your father, caring no longer for the asses, is troubled about you, saying, What am I to do about my son?
2 Aujourd'hui, après m'avoir quitté, tu trouveras deux hommes près du sépulcre de Rachel, sur la frontière de Benjamin, à Tseltsach. Ils te diront: Les ânesses que tu es allé chercher sont retrouvées; et voici, ton père ne pense plus aux ânesses, mais il est en peine de vous, et dit: Que dois-je faire au sujet de mon fils?
2 Nuair a imeoidh tú uaimse inniu, buailfidh tú le beirt fhear ag tuama Ráchael ar imeall Bhiniáimin i Zealzach, agus déarfaidh siad leat: ‘Na hasail a bhí á lorg agat, fuarthas iad; is cuma le d'athair anois faoi na hasail, ach tá imní air fúibhse, á rá leis féin: “Céard atá le déanamh agam faoi mo mhac?’ ”
2 Hoy, después que te hayas apartado de mí, hallarás dos hombres junto al sepulcro de Rachêl, en el término de Benjamín, en Selsah, los cuales te dirán: Las asnas que habías ido á buscar, se han hallado; tu padre pues ha dejado ya el negocio de las asnas, si bien está angustioso por vosotros, diciendo: ¿Qué haré acerca de mi hijo?
2 Wenn du jetzt von mir gehst, so wirst du zwei Männer finden bei dem Grabe Rahels, in der Grenze Benjamins, zu Zelzah; die werden dir sagen: Die Eselinnen sind gefunden, die du zu suchen bist gegangen; und siehe, dein Vater hat die Esel aus der Acht gelassen und sorgt um euch und spricht: Was soll ich um meinen Sohn tun?
3 Then you are to go on from there, and when you come to the oak-tree of Tabor, you will see three men going up to God to Beth-el, one having with him three young goats and another three cakes of bread and another a skin full of wine:
3 De là tu iras plus loin, et tu arriveras au chêne de Thabor, où tu seras rencontré par trois hommes montant vers Dieu à Béthel, et portant l'un trois chevreaux, l'autre trois gâteaux de pain, et l'autre une outre de vin.
3 Ar aghaidh leat ón áit sin agus tiocfaidh tú go Dair Thábór, mar a mbuailfidh tú le triúr fear ar a slí suas chun Dé i mBéitéil; beidh trí mheannán á n‑iompar ag duine díobh, trí bhuilín aráin ag duine eile, agus seithe fíona ag an tríú duine.
3 Y como de allí te fueres más adelante, y llegares á la campiña de Tabor, te saldrán al encuentro tres hombres que suben á Dios en Beth-el, llevando el uno tres cabritos, y el otro tres tortas de pan, y el tercero una vasija de vino:
3 Und wenn du dich von da weiter wendest, so wirst du kommen zu der Eiche Thabor; daselbst werden dich antreffen drei Männer, die hinaufgehen zu Gott gen Beth-El. Einer trägt drei Böcklein, der andere drei Laibe Brot, der dritte einen Krug mit Wein.
4 They will say, Peace be with you, and will give you two cakes of bread, which you are to take from them.
4 Ils te demanderont comment tu te portes, et ils te donneront deux pains, que tu recevras de leur main.
4 Beannóidh siad duit agus tabharfaidh siad dhá builín aráin duit nach foláir duit a ghlacadh uathu.
4 Los cuales, luego que te hayan saludado, te darán dos panes, los que tomarás de manos de ellos.
4 Und sie werden dich freundlich grüßen und dir zwei Brote geben. Die sollst du von ihren Händen nehmen.
5 After that you will come to Gibeah, the hill of God, where an armed force of the Philistines is stationed: and when you come to the town, you will see a band of prophets coming down from the high place with instruments of music before them; and they will be acting like prophets:
5 Après cela, tu arriveras à Guibea Élohim, où se trouve une garnison de Philistins. En entrant dans la ville, tu rencontreras une troupe de prophètes descendant du haut lieu, précédés du luth, du tambourin, de la flûte et de la harpe, et prophétisant eux-mêmes.
5 Ansin rachaidh tú go Gibeá Dé [mar a bhfuil garastún na bhFilistíneach]. Ag teacht chun na cathrach sin ansiúd duit, buailfidh tú le buíon fáithe ag teacht anuas ón ardionad agus cruit, bodhrán, feadóg, agus lir rompu amach; beidh buile na bhfáithe orthu.
5 De allí vendrás al collado de Dios donde está la guarnición de los Filisteos; y cuando entrares allá en la ciudad encontrarás una compañía de profetas que descienden del alto, y delante de ellos salterio, y adufe, y flauta, y arpa, y ellos profetizando:
5 Darnach wirst du kommen zu dem Hügel Gottes, da der Philister Schildwacht ist; und wenn du daselbst in die Stadt kommst, wird dir begegnen ein Haufe Propheten, von der Hütte herabkommend, und vor ihnen her Psalter und Pauke und Flöte und Harfe, und sie werden weissagen.
6 And the spirit of the Lord will come on you with power, and you will be acting like a prophet with them, and will be changed into another man.
6 L'esprit de l'Éternel te saisira, tu prophétiseras avec eux, et tu seras changé en un autre homme.
6 Ansin luífidh spiorad an Tiarna ort féin agus rachaidh tusa freisin ar buile fáidh leo, agus déanfaidh fear eile díot.
6 Y el espíritu de Jehová te arrebatará, y profetizarás con ellos, y serás mudado en otro hombre.
6 Und der Geist des HERRN wird über dich geraten, daß du mit ihnen weissagst; da wirst du ein anderer Mann werden.
7 And when these signs come to you, see that you take the chance which is offered you; for God is with you.
7 Lorsque ces signes auront eu pour toi leur accomplissement, fais ce que tu trouveras à faire, car Dieu est avec toi.
7 Nuair a chuirfear na comharthaí sin i gcrích duit, beir ar an bhfaill mar tá Dia leat.
7 Y cuando te hubieren sobrevenido estas señales, haz lo que te viniere á la mano, porque Dios es contigo.
7 Wenn dir nun diese Zeichen kommen, so tue, was dir unter die Hand kommt; denn Gott ist mit dir.
8 Then you are to go down before me to Gilgal, where I will come to you, for the offering of burned offerings and peace-offerings: go on waiting there for seven days till I come to you and make clear to you what you have to do.
8 Puis tu descendras avant moi à Guilgal; et voici, je descendrai vers toi, pour offrir des holocaustes et des sacrifices d'actions de grâces. Tu attendras sept jours, jusqu'à ce que j'arrive auprès de toi et que je te dise ce que tu dois faire.
8 Gabh romham síos go Gilgeál; rachaidh mise ansiúd níos déanaí le híobairtí loiscthe agus comaoineach a ofráil. Fan seacht lá go dtiocfaidh mé chugat, agus a thaispeáint duit céard atá le déanamh agat.”
8 Y bajarás delante de mí á Gilgal; y luego descenderé yo á ti para sacrificar holocaustos, é inmolar víctimas pacíficas. Espera siete días, hasta que yo venga á ti, y te enseñe lo que has de hacer.
8 Du sollst aber vor mir hinabgehen gen Gilgal; siehe, da will ich zu dir hinabkommen, zu opfern Brandopfer und Dankopfer. Sieben Tage sollst du harren, bis ich zu dir komme und dir kundtue, was du tun sollst.
9 And it came about, that when he went away from Samuel, God gave him a changed heart: and all those signs took place that day.
9 Dès que Saül eut tourné le dos pour se séparer de Samuel, Dieu lui donna un autre coeur, et tous ces signes s'accomplirent le même jour.
9 A luaithe a thug Sól cúl le Samúéil le himeacht uaidh chuir an Tiarna croí eile ina chliabh agus cuireadh na comharthaí sin go léir i gcrích an lá sin.
9 Y fué que así como tornó él su hombro para partirse de Samuel, mudóle Dios su corazón; y todas estas señales acaecieron en aquel día.
9 Und da er seine Schultern wandte, daß er von Samuel ginge, gab Gott ihm ein anderes Herz, und alle diese Zeichen kamen auf denselben Tag.
10 And when they came to Gibeah, a band of prophets came face to face with him; and the spirit of God came on him with power and he took his place among them as a prophet.
10 Lorsqu'ils arrivèrent à Guibea, voici, une troupe de prophètes vint à sa rencontre. L'esprit de Dieu le saisit, et il prophétisa au milieu d'eux.
10 Nuair a thángadar go Gibeá, casadh buíon fáithe leis; luigh spiorad Dé go tréan air agus tháinig buile na bhfáithe air ina measc.
10 Y cuando llegaron allá al collado, he aquí la compañía de los profetas que venía á encontrarse con él, y el espíritu de Dios lo arrebató, y profetizó entre ellos.
10 Und da sie kamen an den Hügel, siehe, da kam ihm ein Prophetenhaufe entgegen; und der Geist Gottes geriet über ihn, daß er unter ihnen weissagte.
11 Now when Saul's old friends saw him among the band of prophets, the people said to one another, What has come to Saul, the son of Kish? Is even Saul among the prophets?
11 Tous ceux qui l'avaient connu auparavant virent qu'il prophétisait avec les prophètes, et l'on se disait l'un à l'autre dans le peuple: Qu'est-il arrivé au fils de Kis? Saül est-il aussi parmi les prophètes?
11 An mhuintir go léir a raibh aithne acu air, nuair a chonaiceadar é, ag fáidheoireacht leis na fáithe, dúradar le chéile: “Cad a d'éirigh do mhac Chís? An bhfuil Sól freisin ar dhuine de na fáithe?”
11 Y aconteció que, cuando todos los que le conocían de ayer y de antes, vieron como profetizaba con los profetas, el pueblo decía el uno al otro: ¿Qué ha sucedido al hijo de Cis? ¿Saúl también entre los profetas?
11 Da ihn aber sahen alle, die ihn vormals gekannt hatten, daß er mit den Propheten weissagte, sprachen sie alle untereinander: Was ist dem Sohn des Kis geschehen? Ist Saul auch unter den Propheten?
12 And one of the people of that place said in answer, And who is their father? So it became a common saying, Is even Saul among the prophets?
12 Quelqu'un de Guibea répondit: Et qui est leur père? -De là le proverbe: Saül est-il aussi parmi les prophètes?
12 Agus dúirt duine ón áit: “Agus cér díobh iad?” Uaidh sin a tháinig an nath: “An bhfuil Sól freisin ar dhuine de na fáithe?”
12 Y alguno de allí respondió, y dijo: ¿Y quién es el padre de ellos? Por esta causa se tornó en proverbio: ¿También Saúl entre los profetas?
12 Und einer daselbst antwortete und sprach: Wer ist ihr Vater? Daher ist das Sprichwort gekommen: Ist Saul auch unter den Propheten?
13 Then going away from the prophets, he came to the house.
13 Lorsqu'il eut fini de prophétiser, il se rendit au haut lieu.
13 Nuair a bhí an racht fáidheoireachta curtha de ag Sól, chuaigh sé ar ais [isteach sa teach],
13 Y cesó de profetizar, y llegó al alto.
13 Und da er ausgeweisagt hatte, kam er auf die Höhe.
14 And Saul's father's brother said to him and his servant, Where have you been? And he said, Searching for the asses: and when we saw no sign of them, we came to Samuel.
14 L'oncle de Saül dit à Saül et à son serviteur: Où êtes-vous allés? Saül répondit: Chercher les ânesses; mais nous ne les avons pas aperçues, et nous sommes allés vers Samuel.
14 agus d'fhiafraigh a uncail de féin agus dá shearbhónta: “Cá ndeachaigh sibh?” D'fhreagair sé: “Ag lorg na n‑asal, agus nuair a chonaiceamar nach bhféadaimis iad a fháil, chuamar go Samúéil.”
14 Y un tío de Saúl dijo á él y á su criado: ¿Dónde fuisteis? Y él respondió: A buscar las asnas; y como vimos que no parecían, fuimos á Samuel.
14 Es sprach aber Sauls Vetter zu ihm und zu seinem Knecht: Wo seid ihr hingegangen? Sie antworteten: Die Eselinnen zu suchen; und da wir sahen, daß sie nicht da waren kamen wir zu Samuel.
15 Then he said, And what did Samuel say to you?
15 L'oncle de Saül reprit: Raconte-moi donc ce que vous a dit Samuel.
15 Dúirt uncail Shóil ansin: “Inis dom, más ea, céard a dúirt Samúéil libh.”
15 Y dijo el tío de Saúl: Yo te ruego me declares qué os dijo Samuel.
15 Da sprach der Vetter Sauls: Sage mir, was sagte euch Samuel?
16 And Saul, answering him, said, He gave us word that the asses had come back. But he said nothing to him of Samuel's words about the kingdom.
16 Et Saül répondit à son oncle: Il nous a assuré que les ânesses étaient retrouvées. Et il ne lui dit rien de la royauté dont avait parlé Samuel.
16 Dúirt Sól lena uncail: “Ní dhearna sé ach a rá go bhfuarthas na hasail,” agus níor inis sé focal dó dá ndúirt Samúéil faoi ghnó na ríogachta. Sól ina Rí
16 Y Saúl respondió á su tío: Declarónos expresamente que las asnas habían parecido. Mas del negocio del reino, de que Samuel le había hablado, no le descubrió nada.
16 Saul antwortete seinem Vetter: Er sagte uns, daß die Eselinnen gefunden wären. Aber von dem Königreich sagte er ihm nicht, was Samuel gesagt hatte.
17 Then Samuel sent for the people to come together before the Lord at Mizpah;
17 Samuel convoqua le peuple devant l'Éternel à Mitspa,
17 Ghlaoigh Samúéil ar an bpobal go léir le chéile chun an Tiarna i Mizpeá,
17 Y Samuel convocó el pueblo á Jehová en Mizpa;
17 Samuel aber berief das Volk zum HERRN gen Mizpa
18 And he said to the children of Israel, The Lord, the God of Israel, has said, I took Israel out of Egypt, and made you free from the hands of the Egyptians and from all the kingdoms which kept you down:
18 et il dit aux enfants d'Israël: Ainsi parle l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël: J'ai fait monter d'Égypte Israël, et je vous ai délivrés de la main des Égyptiens et de la main de tous les royaumes qui vous opprimaient.
18 agus dúirt le clann Iosrael: “Seo mar a deir an Tiarna, Dia Iosrael: ‘Thug mé Iosrael aníos as an Éigipt agus shaor mé sibhse ó chumhacht na nÉigipteach, agus na ríochtaí go léir a bhí do bhur gciapadh.’
18 Y dijo á los hijos de Israel: Así ha dicho Jehová el Dios de Israel: Yo saqué á Israel de Egipto, y os libré de mano de los Egipcios, y de mano de todos los reinos que os afligieron:
18 und sprach zu den Kinder Israel: So sagt der HERR, der Gott Israels: Ich habe Israel aus Ägypten geführt und euch von der Ägypter Hand errettet und von der Hand aller Königreiche, die euch zwangen.
19 But today you are turned away from your God, who himself has been your saviour from all your troubles and sorrows; and you have said to him, Put a king over us. So now, take your places before the Lord by your tribes and by your thousands.
19 Et aujourd'hui, vous rejetez votre Dieu, qui vous a délivrés de tous vos maux et de toutes vos souffrances, et vous lui dites: Établis un roi sur nous! Présentez-vous maintenant devant l'Éternel, selon vos tribus et selon vos milliers.
19 Thug sibh droim le bhur nDia inniu, an té sin a shaor sibh ó bhur ngátar agus ó bhur ngábha go léir; dúirt sibh: ‘Ní amhlaidh a bheidh, ach ceap rí orainn.’ Tagaigí i láthair an Tiarna, más ea, de réir treibhe agus fine.”
19 Mas vosotros habéis desechado hoy á vuestro Dios, que os guarda de todas vuestras aflicciones y angustias, y dijisteis: No, sino pon rey sobre nosotros. Ahora pues, poneos delante de Jehová por vuestras tribus y por vuestros millares.
19 Und ihr habt euren Gott verworfen, der euch aus all eurem Unglück und Trübsal geholfen hat, und sprecht zu ihm: Setze einen König über uns. Wohlan! so tretet nun vor den HERRN nach euren Stämmen und Freundschaften.
20 So Samuel made all the tribes of Israel come near, and the tribe of Benjamin was taken.
20 Samuel fit approcher toutes les tribus d'Israël, et la tribu de Benjamin fut désignée.
20 Thug Samúéil treibheanna Iosrael go léir i láthair agus thit an crann ar Bhiniáimin.
20 Y haciendo allegar Samuel todas las tribus de Israel, fué tomada la tribu de Benjamín.
20 Da nun Samuel alle Stämme Israels herzubrachte, ward getroffen der Stamm Benjamin.
21 Then he made the tribe of Benjamin come near by families, and the family of the Matrites was taken: and from them, Saul, the son of Kish, was taken: but when they went in search of him he was nowhere to be seen.
21 Il fit approcher la tribu de Benjamin par familles, et la famille de Matri fut désignée. Puis Saül, fils de Kis, fut désigné. On le chercha, mais on ne le trouva point.
21 Ansin thug sé treibh Bhiniáimin i láthair, fine ar fhine, agus thit an crann ar fhine Mhatraí; ansin [ar deireadh thug sé fine Mhatraí i láthair ina nduine agus ina nduine] agus thit an crann ar Shól mac Chís. Chuadar á lorg ach ní raibh sé le fáil in aon áit.
21 E hizo llegar la tribu de Benjamín por sus linajes, y fué tomada la familia de Matri; y de ella fué tomado Saúl hijo de Cis. Y le buscaron, mas no fué hallado.
21 Und da er den Stamm Benjamin herzubrachte mit seinen Geschlechtern, ward getroffen das Geschlecht Matris, und ward getroffen Saul, der Sohn des Kis. Und sie suchten ihn; aber sie fanden ihn nicht.
22 So they put another question to the Lord, Is the man present here? And the answer of the Lord was, He is keeping himself from view among the goods.
22 On consulta de nouveau l'Éternel: Y a-t-il encore un homme qui soit venu ici? Et l'Éternel dit: Voici, il est caché vers les bagages.
22 Chuir siad ceist ar an Tiarna arís: “Ar tháinig an fear úd anseo?” “Siúd é i bhfolach sa bhagáiste é,” arsa an Tiarna.
22 Preguntaron pues otra vez á Jehová, si había aún de venir allí aquel varón. Y respondió Jehová: He aquí que él está escondido entre el bagaje.
22 Da fragten sie weiter den HERRN: Wird er auch noch kommen? Der HERR antwortete: Siehe, er hat sich bei dem Geräte versteckt.
23 So they went quickly and made him come out; and when he took his place among the people, he was taller by a head than any of the people.
23 On courut le tirer de là, et il se présenta au milieu du peuple. Il les dépassait tous de la tête.
23 Ritheadar chuige mar sin, agus thugadar amach as sin é agus nuair a sheas sé i measc an tslua bhí airde an chinn aige orthu go léir.
23 Entonces corrieron, y tomáronlo de allí, y puesto en medio del pueblo, desde el hombro arriba era más alto que todo el pueblo.
23 Da liefen sie hin und holten ihn von dort. Und da er unter das Volk trat, war er eines Hauptes länger denn alles Volk.
24 And Samuel said to all the people, Do you see the man of the Lord's selection, how there is no other like him among all the people? And all the people with loud cries said, Long life to the king!
24 Samuel dit à tout le peuple: Voyez-vous celui que l'Éternel a choisi? Il n'y a personne dans tout le peuple qui soit semblable à lui. Et tout le peuple poussa les cris de: Vive le roi!
24 Ansin dúirt Samúéil leis an bpobal ar fad: “An bhfeiceann sibh an té a thogh an Tiarna? Níl a leithéid i measc an phobail ar fad.” Ansin rinne an pobal go léir comhgháir á rá: “Fad saoil don rí!”
24 Y Samuel dijo á todo el pueblo: ¿Habéis visto al que ha elegido Jehová, que no hay semejante á él en todo el pueblo? Entonces el pueblo clamó con alegría, diciendo: Viva el rey.
24 Und Samuel sprach zu allem Volk: Da seht ihr, welchen der HERR erwählt hat; denn ihm ist keiner gleich in allem Volk. Da jauchzte das Volk und sprach: Glück zu dem König!
25 Then Samuel gave the people the laws of the kingdom, writing them in a book which he put in a safe place before the Lord. And Samuel sent all the people away, every man to his house.
25 Samuel fit alors connaître au peuple le droit de la royauté, et il l'écrivit dans un livre, qu'il déposa devant l'Éternel. Puis il renvoya tout le peuple, chacun chez soi.
25 Mhínigh Samúéil cearta agus dualgais an rí don phobal agus bhreac i leabhar iad agus chuir sé an leabhar sin i láthair an Tiarna. Scaoil sé an pobal uaidh ansin, gach duine abhaile chun a thí féin.
25 Samuel recitó luego al pueblo el derecho del reino, y escribiólo en un libro, el cual guardó delante de Jehová.
25 Samuel aber sagte dem Volk alle Rechte des Königreiches und schrieb es in ein Buch und legte es vor den HERRN. Und Samuel ließ alles Volk gehen, einen jeglichen in sein Haus.
26 And Saul went to Gibeah, to his house; and with him went the men of war whose hearts had been touched by God.
26 Saül aussi s'en alla dans sa maison à Guibea. Il fut accompagné par les honnêtes gens, dont Dieu avait touché le coeur.
26 Chuaigh Sól freisin abhaile chun a thí i nGibeá, agus chuaigh an bhuíon gaiscíoch ar chorraigh Dia a gcroí in éineacht leis.
26 Y envió Samuel á todo el pueblo cada uno á su casa. Y Saúl también se fué á su casa en Gabaa, y fueron con él el ejército, el corazón de los cuales Dios había tocado.
26 Und Saul ging auch heim gen Gibea, und ging mit ihm des Heeres ein Teil, welcher Herz Gott rührte.
27 But certain good-for-nothing persons said, How is this man to be our saviour? And having no respect for him, they gave him no offering.
27 Il y eut toutefois des hommes pervers, qui disaient: Quoi! c'est celui-ci qui nous sauvera! Et ils le méprisèrent, et ne lui apportèrent aucun présent. Mais Saül n'y prit point garde.
