1 Now when Samuel was old, he made his sons judges over Israel.
1 Lorsque Samuel devint vieux, il établit ses fils juges sur Israël.
1 Nuair a chuaigh Samúéil in aois, cheap sé a bheirt mhac ina mbreithiúna ar Iosrael.
1 Y Acontecio que habiendo Samuel envejecido, puso sus hijos por jueces sobre Israel.
1 Da aber Samuel alt ward, setzte er seine Söhne zu Richtern über Israel.
2 The name of his first son was Joel and the name of his second Abijah: they were judges in Beer-sheba.
2 Son fils premier-né se nommait Joël, et le second Abija; ils étaient juges à Beer Schéba.
2 Bhí Ióél mar ainm ar a chéadghin agus Aibiá ar an dara fear; ba bhreithiúna iad i mBéar Seaba.
2 Y el nombre de su hijo primogénito fué Joel, y el nombre del segundo, Abia: fueron jueces en Beer-sebah.
2 Sein erstgeborener Sohn hieß Joel und der andere Abia, und sie waren Richter zu Beer-Seba.
3 And his sons did not go in his ways, but moved by the love of money took rewards, and were not upright in judging.
3 Les fils de Samuel ne marchèrent point sur ses traces; ils se livraient à la cupidité, recevaient des présents, et violaient la justice.
3 Ach níor lean a chlann mhac ina choiscéimeanna; ghabhadar an cosán claon chun airgid; ghlacaidís breabanna, agus thugaidís claonbhreith.
3 Mas no anduvieron los hijos por los caminos de su padre, antes se ladearon tras la avaricia, recibiendo cohecho y pervirtiendo el derecho.
3 Aber seine Söhne wandelten nicht in seinem Wege, sondern neigten sich zum Geiz und nahmen Geschenke und beugten das Recht.
4 Then all the responsible men of Israel got together and went to Samuel at Ramah,
4 Tous les anciens d'Israël s'assemblèrent, et vinrent auprès de Samuel à Rama.
4 Chruinnigh seanóirí uile Iosrael i gceann a chéile agus tháinig siad go dtí Samúéil i Rámá.
4 Entonces todos los ancianos de Israel se juntaron, y vinieron á Samuel en Rama,
4 Da versammelten sich alle Ältesten in Israel und kamen gen Rama zu Samuel
5 And said to him, See now, you are old, and your sons do not go in your ways: give us a king now to be our judge, so that we may be like the other nations.
5 Ils lui dirent: Voici, tu es vieux, et tes fils ne marchent point sur tes traces; maintenant, établis sur nous un roi pour nous juger, comme il y en a chez toutes les nations.
5 “Féach,” ar siad leis, “tá tusa sean, agus ní leanann do chlann mhac i do choiscéimeanna. Déan rí a cheapadh dúinn chun sinn a rialú ar nós na gciníocha go léir.”
5 Y dijéronle: He aquí tú has envejecido, y tus hijos no van por tus caminos: por tanto, constitúyenos ahora un rey que nos juzgue, como todas las gentes.
5 und sprachen zu ihm: Siehe, du bist alt geworden, und deine Söhne wandeln nicht in deinen Wegen; so setze nun einen König über uns, der uns richte, wie alle Heiden haben.
6 But Samuel was not pleased when they said to him, Give us a king to be our judge. And Samuel made prayer to the Lord.
6 Samuel vit avec déplaisir qu'ils disaient: Donne-nous un roi pour nous juger. Et Samuel pria l'Éternel.
6 Níor thaitin sé le Samúéil go ndúirt siad: “Tabhair rí dúinn chun sinn a rialú,” agus ghuigh sé chun an Tiarna.
6 Y descontentó á Samuel esta palabra que dijeron: Danos rey que nos juzgue. Y Samuel oró á Jehová.
6 Das gefiel Samuel übel, daß sie sagten: Gib uns einen König, der uns richte. Und Samuel betete vor dem HERRN.
7 And the Lord said to Samuel, Give ear to the voice of the people and what they say to you: they have not been turned away from you, but they have been turned away from me, not desiring me to be king over them.
7 L'Éternel dit à Samuel: Écoute la voix du peuple dans tout ce qu'il te dira; car ce n'est pas toi qu'ils rejettent, c'est moi qu'ils rejettent, afin que je ne règne plus sur eux.
7 Ach dúirt an Tiarna le Samúéil: “Tabhair aird ar ghlór na ndaoine agus ar a ndeir siad leat. Óir ní duitse a dhiúltaigh siad, ach domsa a bheith i mo rí orthu.
7 Y dijo Jehová á Samuel: Oye la voz del pueblo en todo lo que te dijeren: porque no te han desechado á ti, sino á mí me han desechado, para que no reine sobre ellos.
7 Der HERR aber sprach zu Samuel: Gehorche der Stimme des Volks in allem, was sie zu dir gesagt haben; denn sie haben nicht dich, sondern mich verworfen, daß ich nicht soll König über sie sein.
8 As they have done from the first, from the day when I took them out of Egypt till this day, turning away from me and worshipping other gods, so now they are acting in the same way to you.
8 Ils agissent à ton égard comme ils ont toujours agi depuis que je les ai fait monter d'Égypte jusqu'à ce jour; ils m'ont abandonné, pour servir d'autres dieux.
8 Gach a ndearnadar ormsa ón lá a thug mé amach as an Éigipt iad go dtí inniu féin - thugadar droim láimhe liomsa agus rinneadar seirbhís do dhéithe eile - tá na nithe sin go léir á ndéanamh acu ortsa.
8 Conforme á todas las obras que han hecho desde el día que los saqué de Egipto hasta hoy, que me han dejado y han servido á dioses ajenos, así hacen también contigo.
8 Sie tun dir, wie sie immer getan haben von dem Tage an, da ich sie aus Ägypten führte, bis auf diesen Tag, und sie mich verlassen und andern Göttern gedient haben.
9 Give ear now to their voice: but make a serious protest to them, and give them a picture of the sort of king who will be their ruler.
9 Écoute donc leur voix; mais donne-leur des avertissements, et fais-leur connaître le droit du roi qui régnera sur eux.
9 Géill dá nglór dá bhrí sin; ach ní foláir duit rabhadh sollúnta a thabhairt dóibh, agus bealaí an té a bheidh ina rí orthu a theagasc dóibh.”
9 Ahora pues, oye su voz: mas protesta contra ellos declarándoles el derecho del rey que ha de reinar sobre ellos.
9 So gehorche nun ihrer Stimme. Doch bezeuge ihnen und verkündige ihnen das Recht des Königs, der über sie herrschen wird.
10 And Samuel said all these words of the Lord to the people who were desiring a king.
10 Samuel rapporta toutes les paroles de l'Éternel au peuple qui lui demandait un roi.
10 D'inis Samúéil a raibh ráite ag an Tiarna do na daoine a bhí ag iarraidh rí air.
10 Y dijo Samuel todas las palabras de Jehová al pueblo que le había pedido rey.
10 Und Samuel sagte alle Worte des HERRN dem Volk, das von ihm einen König forderte,
11 And he said, This is the sort of king who will be your ruler: he will take your sons and make them his servants, his horsemen, and drivers of his war-carriages, and they will go running before his war-carriages;
11 Il dit: Voici quel sera le droit du roi qui régnera sur vous. Il prendra vos fils, et il les mettra sur ses chars et parmi ses cavaliers, afin qu'ils courent devant son char;
11 Dúirt sé: “Seo iad na bealaí a bheidh ag an té a bheidh ina rí oraibh: tógfaidh sé bhur gclann mhac agus ceapfaidh sé iad mar charbadóirí agus mar mharcshlua aige féin, agus ceapfaidh sé iad le rith os comhair a charbaid amach.
11 Dijo pues: Este será el derecho del rey que hubiere de reinar sobre vosotros: tomará vuestros hijos, y pondrálos en sus carros, y en su gente de á caballo, para que corran delante de su carro:
11 und sprach: Das wird des Königs Recht sein, der über euch herrschen wird: Eure Söhne wird er nehmen zu seinem Wagen und zu Reitern, und daß sie vor seinem Wagen her laufen,
12 And he will make them captains of thousands and of fifties; some he will put to work ploughing and cutting his grain and making his instruments of war and building his war-carriages.
12 il s'en fera des chefs de mille et des chefs de cinquante, et il les emploiera à labourer ses terres, à récolter ses moissons, à fabriquer ses armes de guerre et l'attirail de ses chars.
12 Ceapfaidh sé taoisigh míle, agus taoisigh leathchéad, agus cuirfidh sé cuid díobh a threabhadh a chuid gort agus a bhaint a fhómhair, a dhéanamh a threalamh cogaidh agus trealamh a charbad.
12 Y se elegirá capitanes de mil, y capitanes de cincuenta: pondrálos asimismo á que aren sus campos, y sieguen sus mieses, y á que hagan sus armas de guerra, y los pertrechos de sus carros:
12 und zu Hauptleuten über tausend und über fünfzig und zu Ackerleuten, die ihm seinen Acker bauen, und zu Schnittern in seiner Ernte, und daß sie seine Kriegswaffen und was zu seinen Wagen gehört, machen.
13 Your daughters he will take to be makers of perfumes and cooks and bread-makers.
13 Il prendra vos filles, pour en faire des parfumeuses, des cuisinières et des boulangères.
13 Tógfaidh sé bhur n‑iníonacha le bheith ina gcumhránaithe agus ina gcócairí, agus ina mbáicéirí.
13 Tomará también vuestras hijas para que sean perfumadoras, cocineras, y amasadoras.
13 Eure Töchter aber wird er nehmen, daß sie Salbenbereiterinnen, Köchinnen und Bäckerinnen seien.
14 He will take your fields and your vine-gardens and your olive-gardens, all the best of them, and give them to his servants.
14 Il prendra la meilleure partie de vos champs, de vos vignes et de vos oliviers, et la donnera à ses serviteurs.
14 Tógfaidh sé togha bhur ngort agus bhur bhfíonghort agus bhur ngort ológ, agus tabharfaidh sé dá sheirbhísigh iad.
14 Asimismo tomará vuestras tierras, vuestras viñas, y vuestros buenos olivares, y los dará á sus siervos.
14 Eure besten Äcker und Weinberge und Ölgärten wird er nehmen und seinen Knechten geben.
15 He will take a tenth of your seed and of the fruit of your vines and give it to his servants.
15 Il prendra la dîme du produit de vos semences et de vos vignes, et la donnera à ses serviteurs.
15 Tógfaidh sé deachú de bhur ngrán agus de bhur bhfíonghoirt agus tabharfaidh sé í dá mhaoir agus dá oifigigh.
15 El diezmará vuestras simientes y vuestras viñas, para dar á sus eunucos y á sus siervos.
15 Dazu von eurer Saat und euren Weinbergen wird er den Zehnten nehmen und seinen Kämmerern und Knechten geben.
16 He will take your men-servants and your servant-girls, and the best of your oxen and your asses and put them to his work.
16 Il prendra vos serviteurs et vos servantes, vos meilleurs boeufs et vos ânes, et s'en servira pour ses travaux.
16 Tógfaidh sé bhur searbhóntaí fear agus ban, agus togha bhur n‑eallaigh agus bhur n‑asal, agus cuirfidh sé i mbun oibre dó féin iad.
16 El tomará vuestros siervos, y vuestras siervas, y vuestros buenos mancebos, y vuestros asnos, y con ellos hará sus obras.
16 Und eure Knechte und Mägde und eure schönsten Jünglinge und eure Esel wird er nehmen und seine Geschäfte damit ausrichten.
17 He will take a tenth of your sheep: and you will be his servants.
17 Il prendra la dîme de vos troupeaux, et vous-mêmes serez ses esclaves.
17 Tógfaidh sé deachú de bhur gcaoirigh agus beidh sibhse in bhur ndaoir aige.
17 Diezmará también vuestro rebaño, y seréis sus siervos.
17 Von euren Herden wird er den Zehnten nehmen, und ihr müßt seine Knechte sein.
18 Then you will be crying out because of your king whom you have taken for yourselves; but the Lord will not give you an answer in that day.
18 Et alors vous crierez contre votre roi que vous vous serez choisi, mais l'Éternel ne vous exaucera point.
18 An lá sin glaofaidh sibh amach os ard mar gheall ar an rí a thoghfaidh sibh daoibh féin, ach ní éisteoidh an Tiarna libh an lá sin.”
18 Y clamaréis aquel día á causa de vuestro rey que os habréis elegido, mas Jehová no os oirá en aquel día.
18 Wenn ihr dann schreien werdet zu der Zeit über euren König, den ihr euch erwählt habt, so wird der HERR zu derselben Zeit euch nicht erhören.
19 But the people gave no attention to the voice of Samuel; and they said, No, but we will have a king over us,
19 Le peuple refusa d'écouter la voix de Samuel. Non! dirent-ils, mais il y aura un roi sur nous,
19 Ach dhiúltaigh an pobal aon aird a thabhairt ar a raibh á rá ag Samúéil, agus dúirt siad: “Ní hea! Teastaíonn uainn rí a bheith orainn,
19 Empero el pueblo no quiso oir la voz de Samuel; antes dijeron: No, sino que habrá rey sobre nosotros:
19 Aber das Volk weigerte sich, zu gehorchen der Stimme Samuels, und sprachen: Mitnichten, sondern es soll ein König über uns sein,
20 So that we may be like the other nations, and so that our king may be our judge and go out before us to war.
20 et nous aussi nous serons comme toutes les nations; notre roi nous jurera il marchera à notre tête et conduira nos guerres.
20 i dtreo go mbeimidne cosúil leis na ciníocha eile go léir agus go mbeidh ár rí dár rialú agus ina thaoiseach orainn ag troid ár gcathanna dúinn.”
20 Y nosotros seremos también como todas las gentes, y nuestro rey nos gobernará, y saldrá delante de nosotros, y hará nuestras guerras.
20 daß wir auch seien wie alle Heiden, daß uns unser König richte und vor uns her ausziehe und unsere Kriege führe.
21 Then Samuel, after hearing all the people had to say, went and gave an account of it to the Lord.
21 Samuel, après avoir entendu toutes les paroles du peuple, les redit aux oreilles de l'Éternel.
21 D'éist Samúéil lena raibh le rá ag an bpobal agus d'aithris sé i gcluasa an Tiarna é. Agus dúirt an Tiarna le Samúéil: “Tabhair aird ar a nglór agus déan rí a cheapadh dóibh.”
21 Y oyó Samuel todas las palabras del pueblo, y refiriólas en oídos de Jehová.
21 Und da Samuel alle Worte des Volks gehört hatte, sagte er sie vor den Ohren des HERRN.
22 And the Lord said to Samuel, Give ear to their voice and make a king for them. Then Samuel said to the men of Israel, Let every man go back to his town.
22 Et l'Éternel dit à Samuel: Écoute leur voix, et établis un roi sur eux. Et Samuel dit aux hommes d'Israël: Allez-vous-en chacun dans sa ville.
