1 So the men of Kiriath-jearim came and took the ark of the Lord to the house of Abinadab in Gibeah, and they made his son Eleazar holy and put the ark in his care.
1 Les gens de Kirjath Jearim vinrent, et firent monter l'arche de l'Éternel; ils la conduisirent dans la maison d'Abinadab, sur la colline, et ils consacrèrent son fils Éléazar pour garder l'arche de l'Éternel.
1 Thainig muintir Chiriat Iáraím agus thugadar áirc an Tiarna leo suas, agus chuireadar isteach i dteach Aibíneádáb ar an gcnoc í, agus rinneadar mac Eileázár a choisreacan chun aire a thabhairt d'áirc an Tiarna.
1 Y Vinieron los de Chîriath-jearim, y llevaron el arca de Jehová, y metiéronla en casa de Abinadab, situada en el collado; y santificaron á Eleazar su hijo, para que guardase el arca de Jehová.
1 Also kamen die Leute von Kirjath-Jearim und holten die Lade des HERRN hinauf und brachten sie ins Haus Abinadabs auf dem Hügel; und seinen Sohn Eleasar heiligten sie, daß er die Lade des HERRN hütete.
2 And the ark was in Kiriath-jearim for a long time, as much as twenty years: and all Israel was searching after the Lord with weeping.
2 Il s'était passé bien du temps depuis le jour où l'arche avait été déposée à Kirjath Jearim. Vingt années s'étaient écoulées. Alors toute la maison d'Israël poussa des gémissements vers l'Éternel.

2 Y aconteció que desde el día que llegó el arca á Chîriath-jearim pasaron mucho días, veinte años; y toda la casa de Israel lamentaba en pos de Jehová.
2 Und von dem Tage an, da die Lade des HERRN zu Kirjath-Jearim blieb, verzog sich die Zeit so lange, bis es zwanzig Jahre wurden; und das ganze Haus Israel weinte vor dem HERRN.
3 Then Samuel said to all Israel, If with all your hearts you would come back to the Lord, then put away all the strange gods and the Astartes from among you, and let your hearts be turned to the Lord, and be servants to him only: and he will make you safe from the hands of the Philistines.
3 Samuel dit à toute la maison d'Israël: Si c'est de tout votre coeur que vous revenez à l'Éternel, ôtez du milieu de vous les dieux étrangers et les Astartés, dirigez votre coeur vers l'Éternel, et servez-le lui seul; et il vous délivrera de la main des Philistins.
3 Ansin dúirt Samúéil le teaghlach Iosrael go léir: “Má tá sibh ag filleadh ar an Tiarna ó chroí go hiomlán, cuirigí i leataobh uaibh na déithe deoranta atá agaibh, agus na hAisteárót, agus dírigí bhur gcroí ar an Tiarna, agus déanaigí fónamh dósan amháin, agus fuasclóidh sé sibh ó láimh na bhFilistíneach.”
3 Y habló Samuel á toda la casa de Israel, diciendo: Si de todo vuestro corazón os volvéis á Jehová, quitad los dioses ajenos y á Astaroth de entre vosotros, y preparad vuestro corazón á Jehová, y á sólo él servid, y os librará de mano de los Filisteos.
3 Samuel aber sprach zum ganzen Hause Israel: So ihr euch mit ganzem Herzen bekehrt zu dem HERRN, so tut von euch die fremden Götter und die Astharoth und richtet euer Herz zu dem HERRN und dienet ihm allein, so wird er euch erretten aus der Philister Hand.
4 So the children of Israel gave up the worship of Baal and Astarte, and became worshippers of the Lord only.
4 Et les enfants d'Israël ôtèrent du milieu d'eux les Baals et les Astartés, et ils servirent l'Éternel seul.
4 Ansin chuir clann Iosrael uathu na Bálaím agus na hAisteárót agus d'fhónadar don Tiarna amháin.
4 Entonces los hijos de Israel quitaron á los Baales y á Astaroth, y sirvieron á solo Jehová.
4 Da taten die Kinder Israel von sich die Baalim und die Astharoth und dienten dem HERRN allein.
5 Then Samuel said, Let all Israel come to Mizpah and I will make prayer to the Lord for you.
5 Samuel dit: Assemblez tout Israël à Mitspa, et je prierai l'Éternel pour vous. Et ils s'assemblèrent à Mitspa.
5 Ansin dúirt Samúéil: “Cruinnígí Iosrael uile le chéile i Mizpeá, agus guífidh mé an Tiarna ar bhur son.”
5 Y Samuel dijo: Juntad á todo Israel en Mizpa, y yo oraré por vosotros á Jehová.
5 Samuel aber sprach: Versammelt das ganze Israel gen Mizpa, daß ich für euch bitte zum HERRN.
6 So they came together to Mizpah, and got water, draining it out before the Lord, and they took no food that day, and they said, We have done evil against the Lord. And Samuel was judge of the children of Israel in Mizpah.
6 Ils puisèrent de l'eau et la répandirent devant l'Éternel, et ils jeûnèrent ce jour-là, en disant: Nous avons péché contre l'Éternel! Samuel jugea les enfants d'Israël à Mitspa.
6 Thionóil Iosrael go léir dá bhrí sin i Mizpeá, agus tharraing siad uisce agus dhoirt siad ansiúd é i láthair an Tiarna. Rinne siad troscadh an lá sin agus d'fhógair siad: “Pheacaíomar in aghaidh an Tiarna.” Agus bhí Samúéil ina bhreitheamh ar chlann Iosrael i Mizpeá.
6 Y juntándose en Mizpa, sacaron agua, y derramáronla delante de Jehová, y ayunaron aquel día, y dijeron allí: Contra Jehová hemos pecado. Y juzgó Samuel á los hijos de Israel en Mizpa.
6 Und sie kamen zusammen gen Mizpa und schöpften Wasser und gossen's aus vor dem HERRN und fasteten denselben Tag und sprachen daselbst: Wir haben an dem HERRN gesündigt. Also richtete Samuel die Kinder Israel zu Mizpa.
7 Now when the Philistines had news that the children of Israel had come together at Mizpah, the lords of the Philistines went up against Israel. And the children of Israel, hearing of it, were full of fear.
7 Les Philistins apprirent que les enfants d'Israël s'étaient assemblés à Mitspa, et les princes des Philistins montèrent contre Israël. A cette nouvelle, les enfants d'Israël eurent peur des Philistins,
7 Nuair a chuala na Filistínigh go raibh clann Iosrael cruinnithe i Mizpeá, chuaigh flatha na bhFilistíneach suas in aghaidh Iosrael. Nuair a chuala clann Iosrael é sin tháinig eagla orthu roimh na Filistínigh.
7 Y oyendo los Filisteos que los hijos de Israel estaban reunidos en Mizpa, subieron los príncipes de los Filisteos contra Israel: lo cual como hubieron oído los hijos de Israel, tuvieron temor de los Filisteos.
7 Da aber die Philister hörten, daß die Kinder Israel zusammengekommen waren gen Mizpa, zogen die Fürsten der Philister hinauf wider Israel. Da das die Kinder Israel hörten, fürchteten sie sich vor den Philistern
8 And the children of Israel said to Samuel, Go on crying to the Lord our God for us to make us safe from the hands of the Philistines.
8 et ils dirent à Samuel: Ne cesse point de crier pour nous à l'Éternel, notre Dieu, afin qu'il nous sauve de la main des Philistins.
8 Dúirt clann Iosrael le Samúéil: “Glaoigh gan stad ar an Tiarna ár nDia chun sinn a shaoradh ó chumhacht na bhFilistíneach”
8 Y dijeron los hijos de Israel á Samuel: No ceses de clamar por nosotros á Jehová nuestro Dios, que nos guarde de mano de los filisteos.
8 und sprachen zu Samuel: Laß nicht ab, für uns zu schreien zu dem HERRN, unserm Gott, daß er uns helfe aus der Philister Hand.
9 And Samuel took a young lamb, offering all of it as a burned offering to the Lord; and Samuel made prayers to the Lord for Israel and the Lord gave him an answer.
9 Samuel prit un agneau de lait, et l'offrit tout entier en holocauste à l'Éternel. Il cria à l'Éternel pour Israël, et l'Éternel l'exauça.
9 Ansin fuair Samúéil uan diúil agus d'ofráil é ina íobairt uileloiscthe don Tiarna agus ghlaoigh sé ar an Tiarna thar ceann Iosrael agus thug an Tiarna toradh air.
9 Y Samuel tomó un cordero de leche, y sacrificólo entero á Jehová en holocausto: y clamó Samuel á Jehová por Israel, y Jehová le oyó.
9 Samuel nahm ein Milchlämmlein und opferte dem HERRN ein ganzes Brandopfer und schrie zum HERRN für Israel; und der HERR erhörte ihn.
10 And while Samuel was offering the burned offering, the Philistines came near for the attack on Israel; but at the thunder of the Lord's voice that day the Philistines were overcome with fear, and they gave way before Israel.
10 Pendant que Samuel offrait l'holocauste, les Philistins s'approchèrent pour attaquer Israël. L'Éternel fit retentir en ce jour son tonnerre sur les Philistins, et les mit en déroute. Ils furent battus devant Israël.
10 Nuair a bhí Samúéil ag ofráil na híobartha dóite, dhruid na Filistínigh ina n‑aice chun catha a chur ar Iosrael, ach rinne an Tiarna tréanghlór toirní an lá sin ar na Filistínigh agus chuir sceimhle orthu, agus theitheadar roimh Iosrael.
10 Y aconteció que estando Samuel sacrificando el holocausto, los Filisteos llegaron para pelear con los hijos de Israel. Mas Jehová tronó aquel día con grande estruendo sobre los Filisteos, y desbaratólos, y fueron vencidos delante de Israel.
10 Und indem Samuel das Brandopfer opferte, kamen die Philister herzu, zu streiten wider Israel. Aber der HERR ließ donnern einen großen Donner über die Philister desselben Tages und schreckte sie, daß sie vor Israel geschlagen wurden.
11 And the men of Israel went out from Mizpah and went after the Philistines, attacking them till they came under Beth-car.
11 Les hommes d'Israël sortirent de Mitspa, poursuivirent les Philistins, et les battirent jusqu'au-dessous de Beth Car.
11 Chuaigh muintir Iosrael amach ó Mhizpeá sa tóir ar na Filistínigh agus bhíodar á n‑eirleach chomh fada le Béit Cár.
11 Y saliendo los hijos de Israel de Mizpa, siguieron á los Filisteos, hiriéndolos hasta abajo de Beth-car.
11 Da zogen die Männer Israels aus von Mizpa und jagten die Philister und schlugen sie bis unter Beht-Kar.
12 Then Samuel took a stone and put it up between Mizpah and Jeshanah, naming it Eben-ezer, and saying, Up to now the Lord has been our help.
12 Samuel prit une pierre, qu'il plaça entre Mitspa et Schen, et il l'appela du nom d'Ében Ézer, en disant: Jusqu'ici l'Éternel nous a secourus.
12 Ansin thóg Samúéil cloch agus chuir ina seasamh í idir Mizpeá agus Iseana, agus thug sé Eibin Eizir [“Cloch na Cabhrach”] uirthi á rá: “Thug an Tiarna cabhair dúinn chomh fada leis seo!”
12 Tomó luego Samuel una piedra, y púsola entre Mizpa y Sen, y púsole por nombre Eben-ezer, diciendo: Hasta aquí nos ayudó Jehová.
12 Da nahm Samuel einen Stein und setzte ihn zwischen Mizpa und Sen und hieß ihn Eben-Ezer und sprach: Bis hierher hat uns der HERR geholfen.
13 So the Philistines were overcome, and did not come into the country of Israel again: and all the days of Samuel the hand of the Lord was against the Philistines.
13 Ainsi les Philistins furent humiliés, et ils ne vinrent plus sur le territoire d'Israël. La main de l'Éternel fut contre les Philistins pendant toute la vie de Samuel.
13 Cloíodh na Filistínigh ar an gcuma sin agus níor thángadar isteach i gcríocha Iosrael a thuilleadh. Luigh lámh an Tiarna go trom ar na Filistínigh i gcaitheamh shaol Shamúéil ar fad.
13 Fueron pues los Filisteos humillados, que no vinieron más al término de Israel; y la mano de Jehová fué contra los Filisteos todo el tiempo de Samuel.
13 Also wurden die Philister gedämpft und kamen nicht mehr in die Grenze Israels; und die Hand des HERRN war wider die Philister, solange Samuel lebte.
14 And the towns which the Philistines had taken were given back to Israel, from Ekron to Gath, and all the country round them Israel made free from the power of the Philistines. And there was peace between Israel and the Amorites.
14 Les villes que les Philistins avaient prises sur Israël retournèrent à Israël, depuis Ékron jusqu'à Gath, avec leur territoire; Israël les arracha de la main des Philistins. Et il y eut paix entre Israël et les Amoréens.
14 Na cathracha a bhain na Filistínigh d'Iosrael, fuair Iosrael ar ais iad, ó Eacrón go Gat, agus d'fhuascail Iosrael a gcríocha ó chumhacht na bhFilistíneach. Bhí síocháin chomh maith idir Iosrael agus na hAmóraigh.
14 Y fueron restituídas á los hijos de Israel las ciudades que los Filisteos habían tomado á los Isrelitas, desde Ecrón hasta Gath, con sus términos: é Israel las libró de mano de los Filisteos. Y hubo paz entre Israel y el Amorrheo.
14 Also wurden Israel die Städte wieder, die die Philister ihnen genommen hatten, von Ekron an bis gen Gath, samt ihrem Gebiet; die errettete Israel von der Hand der Philister. Und Israel hatte Frieden mit den Amoritern.
15 And Samuel was judge of Israel all the days of his life.
15 Samuel fut juge en Israël pendant toute sa vie.
15 Bhí Samúéil ina bhreitheamh ar Iosrael gach lá dá shaol.
15 Y juzgó Samuel á Israel todo el tiempo que vivió.

16 From year to year he went in turn to Beth-el and Gilgal and Mizpah, judging Israel in all those places.
16 Il allait chaque année faire le tour de Béthel, de Guilgal et de Mitspa, et il jugeait Israël dans tous ces lieux.
16 Théadh sé gach bliain ar cuaird go Béitéil, go Gilgeál agus go Mizpeá. Thugadh sé breith ar chlann Iosrael sna háiteanna sin go léir.
16 Y todos los años iba y daba vuelta á Beth-el, y á Gilgal, y á Mizpa, y juzgaba á Israel en todos estos lugares.
16 und zog jährlich umher zu Beth-El und Gilgal und Mizpa. Und wenn er Israel an allen diesen Orten gerichtet hatte,
17 And his base was at Ramah, where his house was; there he was judge of Israel and there he made an altar to the Lord.
17 Puis il revenait à Rama, où était sa maison; et là il jugeait Israël, et il y bâtit un autel à l'Éternel.
