1 Now there was a certain man of Ramathaim, a Zuphite of the hill-country of Ephraim, named Elkanah; he was the son of Jeroham, the son of Elihu, the son of Tohu, the son of Zuph, an Ephraimite:
1 Il y avait un homme de Ramathaïm Tsophim, de la montagne d'Éphraïm, nommé Elkana, fils de Jeroham, fils d'Élihu, fils de Thohu, fils de Tsuph, Éphratien.

1 Hubo un varón de Ramathaim de Sophim, del monte de Ephraim, que se llamaba Elcana, hijo de Jeroham, hijo de Eliú, hijo de Thohu, hijo de Suph, Ephrateo.
1 Es war ein Mann von Ramathaim-Zophim, vom Gebirge Ephraim, der hieß Elkana, ein Sohn Jerohams, des Sohnes Elihus, des Sohnes Thohus, des Sohnes Zuphs, ein Ephraimiter.
2 And he had two wives, one named Hannah and the other Peninnah: and Peninnah was the mother of children, but Hannah had no children.
2 Il avait deux femmes, dont l'une s'appelait Anne, et l'autre Peninna; Peninna avait des enfants, mais Anne n'en avait point.
2 Bhí beirt bhan aige; Hanná a ba ainm do dhuine díobh agus Pinineá a ba ainm do dhuine eile. Bhí clann ar Phinineá, ach ní raibh ar Hanná.
2 Y tenía él dos mujeres; el nombre de la una era Anna, y el nombre de la otra Peninna. Y Peninna tenía hijos, mas Anna no los tenía.
2 Und er hatte zwei Weiber; eine hieß Hanna, die andere Peninna. Peninna aber hatte Kinder, und Hanna hatte keine Kinder.
3 Now this man went up from his town every year to give worship and to make offerings to the Lord of armies in Shiloh. And the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, the priests of the Lord, were there.
3 Chaque année, cet homme montait de sa ville à Silo, pour se prosterner devant l'Éternel des armées et pour lui offrir des sacrifices. Là se trouvaient les deux fils d'Éli, Hophni et Phinées, sacrificateurs de l'Éternel.
3 Théadh an fear seo suas gach bliain as a chathair féin chun adhradh agus chun íobairt a ofráil do Thiarna na Slua i Sileo. Bhí beirt mhac Éilí, Hofnaí agus Píneachás, mar shagairt leis an Tiarna ansiúd.
3 Y subía aquel varón todos los años de su ciudad, á adorar y sacrificar á Jehová de los ejércitos en Silo, donde estaban dos hijos de Eli, Ophni y Phinees, sacerdotes de Jehová.
3 Und derselbe Mann ging jährlich hinauf von seiner Stadt, daß er anbetete und opferte dem HERRN Zebaoth zu Silo. Daselbst waren aber Priester des HERRN Hophni und Pinehas, die zwei Söhne Elis.
4 And when the day came for Elkanah to make his offering, he gave to Peninnah his wife, and to all her sons and daughters, their part of the feast:
4 Le jour où Elkana offrait son sacrifice, il donnait des portions à Peninna, sa femme, et à tous les fils et à toutes les filles qu'il avait d'elle.
4 An lá a dhéanadh Ealcáná íobairt thugadh sé scaireanna do Phinineá a bhean agus dá clann mhac agus iníonacha go léir.
4 Y cuando venía el día, Elcana sacrificaba, y daba á Peninna su mujer, y á todos sus hijos y á todas sus hijas, á cada uno su parte.
4 Und des Tages, da Elkana opferte, gab er seinem Weib Peninna und allen ihren Söhnen und Töchtern Stücke.
5 But to Hannah he gave one part, though Hannah was very dear to him, but the Lord had not let her have children.
5 Mais il donnait à Anne une portion double; car il aimait Anne, que l'Éternel avait rendue stérile.
5 Bíodh gurbh ionúin leis Hanná, ní thugadh sé ach scair amháin di, toisc gur dhruid an Tiarna a broinn.
5 Mas á Anna daba una parte escogida; porque amaba á Anna, aunque Jehová había cerrado su matriz.
5 Aber Hanna gab er ein Stück traurig; denn er hatte Hanna lieb, aber der HERR hatte ihren Leib verschlossen.
6 And the other wife did everything possible to make her unhappy, because the Lord had not let her have children;
6 Sa rivale lui prodiguait les mortifications, pour la porter à s'irriter de ce que l'Éternel l'avait rendue stérile.
6 A comhleacaí mná, bhíodh sí ag caitheamh achasán léi, ag spochadh aisti, á chasadh léi gur dhruid an Tiarna a broinn.
6 Y su competidora la irritaba, enojándola y entristeciéndola, porque Jehová había cerrado su matriz.
6 Und ihre Widersacherin betrübte und reizte sie sehr, darum daß der HERR ihren Leib verschlossen hatte.
7 And year by year, whenever she went up to the house of the Lord, she kept on attacking her, so that Hannah gave herself up to weeping and would take no food.
7 Et toutes les années il en était ainsi. Chaque fois qu'Anne montait à la maison de l'Éternel, Peninna la mortifiait de la même manière. Alors elle pleurait et ne mangeait point.
7 Mar sin a bhí, bliain i ndiaidh na bliana; gach uair dá dtéadh Hanná suas go teach an Tiarna, bhíodh Pinineá ag caitheamh achasán léi. Bhíodh Hanná ag gol dá bharrsan agus ní chaitheadh sí greim bia.
7 Y así hacía cada año: cuando subía á la casa de Jehová, enojaba así á la otra; por lo cual ella lloraba, y no comía.
7 Also ging's alle Jahre; wenn sie hinaufzog zu des HERRN Hause, betrübte jene sie also; so weinte sie dann und aß nichts.
8 Then her husband Elkanah said to her, Hannah, why are you weeping? and why are you taking no food? why is your heart troubled? am I not more to you than ten sons?
8 Elkana, son mari, lui disait: Anne, pourquoi pleures-tu, et ne manges-tu pas? pourquoi ton coeur est-il attristé? Est-ce que je ne vaux pas pour toi mieux que dix fils?
8 Ansin dúirt Ealcáná a fear léi: “A Hanná, cad chuige a bhfuil tú ag gol? Cad chuige nach bhfuil tú ag ithe? Cad chuige go bhfuil tú dubhach? Nach fearr mise agat na deichniúr mac?”
8 Y Elcana su marido le dijo: Anna, ¿por qué lloras? ¿y por qué no comes? ¿y por qué está afligido tu corazón? ¿No te soy yo mejor que diez hijos?
8 Elkana aber, ihr Mann, sprach zu ihr: Hanna, warum weinst du, und warum issest du nichts, und warum ist dein Herz so traurig? Bin ich dir nicht besser denn zehn Söhne?
9 So after they had taken food and wine in the guest room, Hannah got up. Now Eli the priest was seated by the pillars of the doorway of the Temple of the Lord.
9 Anne se leva, après que l'on eut mangé et bu à Silo. Le sacrificateur Éli était assis sur un siège, près de l'un des poteaux du temple de l'Éternel.
9 Nuair a bhí bia agus deoch caite acu i Sileo, d'éirigh Hanná agus sheas sí os comhair an Tiarna. Bhí Éilí an sagart ina shuí ina chathaoir láimh le hursain theampall an Tiarna.
9 Y levantóse Anna después que hubo comido y bebido en Silo; y mientras el sacerdote Eli estaba sentado en una silla junto á un pilar del templo de Jehová,
9 Da stand Hanna auf, nachdem sie gegessen hatten zu Silo und getrunken. (Eli aber, der Priester, saß auf einem Stuhl an der Pfoste des Tempels des HERRN.)
10 And with grief in her soul, weeping bitterly, she made her prayer to the Lord.
10 Et, l'amertume dans l'âme, elle pria l'Éternel et versa des pleurs.
10 Bhí sí an-bhuartha agus ghuigh sí an Tiarna agus na deora léi go goirt.
10 Ella con amargura de alma oró á Jehová, y lloró abundantemente.
10 Und sie war von Herzen betrübt und betete zum HERRN und weinte sehr
11 And she made an oath, and said, O Lord of armies, if you will truly take note of the sorrow of your servant, not turning away from me but keeping me in mind, and will give me a man-child, then I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life, and his hair will never be cut.
11 Elle fit un voeu, en disant: Éternel des armées! si tu daignes regarder l'affliction de ta servante, si tu te souviens de moi et n'oublies point ta servante, et si tu donnes à ta servante un enfant mâle, je le consacrerai à l'Éternel pour tous les jours de sa vie, et le rasoir ne passera point sur sa tête.
11 Thug sí móid á rá: “A Thiarna na Slua! Má thugann tú aird ar bhuaireamh do bhanóglaigh agus cuimhneamh orm, agus gan dearmad a dhéanamh de do bhanóglach, agus leanbh mic a thabhairt do do bhanóglach, tabharfaidh mise é don Tiarna lena shaol uile, agus ní bhainfidh rásúr lena cheann.”
11 E hizo voto, diciendo: Jehová de los ejércitos, si te dignares mirar la aflicción de tu sierva, y te acordares de mí, y no te olvidares de tu sierva, mas dieres á tu sierva un hijo varón, yo lo dedicaré á Jehová todos los días de su vida, y no subirá navaja sobre su cabeza.
11 und gelobte ein Gelübde und sprach: HERR Zebaoth, wirst du deiner Magd Elend ansehen und an mich gedenken und deiner Magd nicht vergessen und wirst deiner Magd einen Sohn geben, so will ich ihn dem HERRN geben sein Leben lang und soll kein Schermesser auf sein Haupt kommen.
12 Now while she was a long time in prayer before the Lord, Eli was watching her mouth.
12 Comme elle restait longtemps en prière devant l'Éternel, Éli observa sa bouche.
12 Lean sí uirthi ag guí i láthair an Tiarna agus bhí Éilí ag breathnú ar a béal,
12 Y fué que como ella orase largamente delante de Jehová, Eli estaba observando la boca de ella.
12 Und da sie lange betete vor dem HERRN, hatte Eli acht auf ihren Mund.
13 For Hannah's prayer came from her heart, and though her lips were moving she made no sound: so it seemed to Eli that she was overcome with wine.
13 Anne parlait dans son coeur, et ne faisait que remuer les lèvres, mais on n'entendait point sa voix. Éli pensa qu'elle était ivre,
13 mar bhí Hanná ag labhairt ina croí agus a beola ag corraí ach gan aon ghlór le cloisteáil. Shíl Éilí dá bhrí sin go raibh sí ar meisce
13 Mas Anna hablaba en su corazón, y solamente se movían sus labios, y su voz no se oía; y túvola Eli por borracha.
13 Denn Hanna redete in ihrem Herzen; allein ihre Lippen regten sich, und ihre Stimme hörte man nicht. Da meinte Eli, sie wäre trunken,
14 And Eli said to her, How long are you going to be the worse for drink? Put away the effects of your wine from you.
14 et il lui dit: Jusques à quand seras-tu dans l'ivresse? Fais passer ton vin.
14 agus dúirt sé léi: “An fada a bheidh tú ar meisce? Cuir uait do chuid fíona.”
14 Entonces le dijo Eli: ¿Hasta cuándo estarás borracha?; digiere tu vino.
14 und sprach zu ihr: Wie lange willst du trunken sein? Laß den Wein von dir kommen, den du bei dir hast!
15 And Hannah, answering him, said, No, my lord, I am a woman whose spirit is broken with sorrow: I have not taken wine or strong drink, but I have been opening my heart before the Lord.
15 Anne répondit: Non, mon seigneur, je suis une femme qui souffre en son coeur, et je n'ai bu ni vin ni boisson enivrante; mais je répandais mon âme devant l'Éternel.
15 D'fhreagair Hanná: “Ní amhlaidh atá agam, a mháistir,” ar sí, “ach is bean mé ar a bhfuil an-doilíos croí. Níor ól mé fíon ná deoch chrua ach bhí m'anam á dhoirteadh amach agam i láthair an Tiarna.
15 Y Anna le respondió, diciendo: No, señor mío: mas yo soy una mujer trabajada de espíritu: no he bebido vino ni sidra, sino que he derramado mi alma delante de Jehová.
15 Hanna aber antwortete und sprach: Nein, mein Herr, ich bin ein betrübtes Weib. Wein und starkes Getränk habe ich nicht getrunken, sondern habe mein Herz vor dem HERRN ausgeschüttet.
16 Do not take your servant to be a good-for-nothing woman: for my words have come from my stored-up sorrow and pain.
16 Ne prends pas ta servante pour une femme pervertie, car c'est l'excès de ma douleur et de mon chagrin qui m'a fait parler jusqu'à présent.
16 Ná bí á cheapadh gur bean táir mé; mar i rith an achair is amhlaidh a bhí mé ag cásamh le barr bróin agus buairimh.”
16 No tengas á tu sierva por una mujer impía: porque por la magnitud de mis congojas y de mi aflicción he hablado hasta ahora.
16 Du wolltest deine Magd nicht achten wie ein loses Weib; denn ich habe aus meinem großen Kummer und Traurigkeit geredet bisher.
17 Then Eli said to her, Go in peace: and may the God of Israel give you an answer to the prayer you have made to him.
17 Éli reprit la parole, et dit: Va en paix, et que le Dieu d'Israël exauce la prière que tu lui as adressée!
17 D'fhreagair Éilí ansin: “Imigh faoi shíocháin, agus go dtuga Dia Iosrael duit ar iarr tú air.”
17 Y Eli respondió, y dijo: Ve en paz, y el Dios de Israel te otorgue la petición que le has hecho.
17 Eli antwortete und sprach: Gehe hin mit Frieden; der Gott Israels wird dir geben deine Bitte, die du von ihm gebeten hast.
18 And she said, May your servant have grace in your eyes. So the woman went away, and took part in the feast, and her face was no longer sad.
18 Elle dit: Que ta servante trouve grâce à tes yeux! Et cette femme s'en alla. Elle mangea, et son visage ne fut plus le même.
18 Agus dúirt sise: “Go bhfaighe do bhanóglach fabhar i do láthair.” Ansin d'imigh an bhean léi; [d'fhill sí ar an halla], d'ith bia, agus ní raibh cuma ghruama uirthi níos mó.
18 Y ella dijo: Halle tu sierva gracia delante de tus ojos. Y fuése la mujer su camino, y comió, y no estuvo más triste.
18 Sie sprach: Laß deine Magd Gnade finden vor deinen Augen. Also ging das Weib hin ihres Weges und aß und sah nicht mehr so traurig.
19 And early in the morning they got up, and after worshipping before the Lord they went back to Ramah, to their house: and Elkanah had connection with his wife; and the Lord kept her in mind.
19 Ils se levèrent de bon matin, et après s'être prosternés devant l'Éternel, ils s'en retournèrent et revinrent dans leur maison à Rama. Elkana connut Anne, sa femme, et l'Éternel se souvint d'elle.
19 D'éirigh siad go moch ar maidin agus rinne adhradh i láthair an Tiarna, agus d'fhill siad abhaile go Rámá. Luigh Ealcáná lena bhean Hanná agus chuimhnigh an Tiarna uirthi.
19 Y levantándose de mañana, adoraron delante de Jehová, y volviéronse, y vinieron á su casa en Ramatha. Y Elcana conoció á Anna su mujer, y Jehová se acordó de ella.
19 Und des Morgens früh machten sie sich auf; und da sie angebetet hatten vor dem HERRN, kehrten sie wieder um und kamen heim gen Rama. Und Elkana erkannte sein Weib Hanna, und der HERR gedachte an sie.
20 Now the time came when Hannah, being with child, gave birth to a son; and she gave him the name Samuel, Because, she said, I made a prayer to the Lord for him.
20 Dans le cours de l'année, Anne devint enceinte, et elle enfanta un fils, qu'elle nomma Samuel, car, dit-elle, je l'ai demandé à l'Éternel.
20 Ghabh sí gin, agus in am agus i dtráth rug sí mac agus thug Samúéil mar ainm air, toisc, ar sí “gur iarr mé ar an Tiarna é.”
20 Y fué que corrido el tiempo, después de haber concebido Anna, parió un hijo, y púsole por nombre Samuel, diciendo: Por cuanto lo demandé á Jehová.
20 Und da die Tage um waren, ward Hanna schwanger und gebar einen Sohn und hieß ihn Samuel: "denn ich habe ihn von dem HERRN erbeten."
21 And the man Elkanah with all his family went up to make the year's offering to the Lord, and to give effect to his oath.
21 Son mari Elkana monta ensuite avec toute sa maison, pour offrir à l'Éternel le sacrifice annuel, et pour accomplir son voeu.
21 An bhliain dár gcíonn ghabh Ealcáná agus a chlann go léir suas chun an íobairt bhliantúil a ofráil don Tiarna agus a mhóid a chomhlíonadh don Tiarna.
21 Después subió el varón Elcana, con toda su familia, á sacrificar á Jehová el sacrificio acostumbrado, y su voto.
21 Und da der Mann Elkana hinaufzog mit seinem ganzen Hause, daß er dem HERRN opferte das jährliche Opfer und sein Gelübde,
22 But Hannah did not go, for she said to her husband, I will not go till the child has been taken from the breast, and then I will take him with me and put him before the Lord, where he may be for ever.
22 Mais Anne ne monta point, et elle dit à son mari: Lorsque l'enfant sera sevré, je le mènerai, afin qu'il soit présenté devant l'Éternel et qu'il reste là pour toujours.
22 Ach ní dheachaigh Hanná, mar dúirt sí lena fear: “Nuair a bhainfear an leanbh den chíoch, tabharfaidh mé liom ansin é agus cuirfear i láthair an Tiarna é, agus fanfaidh sé ansiúd go brách.”
22 Mas Anna no subió, sino dijo á su marido: Yo no subiré hasta que el niño sea destetado; para que lo lleve y sea presentado delante de Jehová, y se quede allá para siempre.
22 zog Hanna nicht mit hinauf, sondern sprach zu ihrem Mann: Bis der Knabe entwöhnt werde, so will ich ihn bringen, daß er vor dem HERRN erscheine und bleibe daselbst ewiglich.
23 And her husband Elkanah said to her, Do whatever seems right to you, but not till you have taken him from the breast; only may the Lord do as he has said. So the woman, waiting there, gave her son milk till he was old enough to be taken from the breast.
23 Elkana, son mari, lui dit: Fais ce qui te semblera bon, attends de l'avoir sevré. Veuille seulement l'Éternel accomplir sa parole! Et la femme resta et allaita son fils, jusqu'à ce qu'elle le sevrât.
23 Dúirt Ealcáná a fear ansin léi: “Déan mar is fearr a fheictear duit: fan go mbainfidh tú den chíoch é. Go gcuire an Tiarna a bhfuil ráite aige i gcrích.” D'fhan an bhean mar a raibh aici dá bhrí sin agus thug diúl don leanbh nó gur bhain den chíoch é.
23 Y Elcana su marido le respondió: Haz lo que bien te pareciere; quédate hasta que lo destetes; solamente Jehová cumpla su palabra. Y quedóse la mujer, y crió su hijo hasta que lo destetó.
23 Elkana, ihr Mann, sprach zu ihr: So tue, wie dir's gefällt: bleib, bis du ihn entwöhnst; der HERR bestätige aber was er geredet hat. Also blieb das Weib und säugte ihren Sohn, bis daß sie ihn entwöhnte,
24 Then when she had done so, she took him with her, with a three-year old ox and an ephah of meal and a skin full of wine, and took him to the house of the Lord at Shiloh: now the child was still very young.
24 Quand elle l'eut sevré, elle le fit monter avec elle, et prit trois taureaux, un épha de farine, et une outre de vin. Elle le mena dans la maison de l'Éternel à Silo: l'enfant était encore tout jeune.
24 Nuair a bhain sí ó dhiúl é, thug sí léi é, maille le tarbh trí bliana, agus éafá plúir, agus soitheach fíona; thug sí go teach an Tiarna i Sileo é, agus é fós ina leanbh óg.
24 Y después que lo hubo destetado, llevólo consigo, con tres becerros, y un epha de harina, y una vasija de vino, y trájolo á la casa de Jehová en Silo: y el niño era pequeño.
24 und brachte ihn mit sich hinauf, nachdem sie ihn entwöhnt hatte, mit drei Farren, mit einem Epha Mehl und einem Krug Wein; und brachte ihn in das Haus des HERRN zu Silo. Der Knabe war aber noch jung.
25 And when they had made an offering of the ox, they took the child to Eli.
25 Ils égorgèrent les taureaux, et ils conduisirent l'enfant à Éli.
25 Ansin mharaíodar an tarbh, agus thugadar an leanbh do Éilí.
25 Y matando el becerro, trajeron el niño á Eli.
25 Und sie schlachteten einen Farren und brachten den Knaben zu Eli.
26 And she said, O my lord, as your soul is living, my lord, I am that woman who was making a prayer to the Lord here by your side:
26 Anne dit: Mon seigneur, pardon! aussi vrai que ton âme vit, mon seigneur, je suis cette femme qui me tenais ici près de toi pour prier l'Éternel.
26 Dúirt sí “A mháistir, dar do bheo, mise an bhean a sheas anseo láimh leat ag guí chun an Tiarna.
26 Y ella dijo: ¡Oh, señor mío! vive tu alma, señor mío, yo soy aquella mujer que estuvo aquí junto á ti orando á Jehová.
26 Und sie sprach: Ach, mein Herr, so wahr deine Seele lebt, mein Herr, ich bin das Weib, das hier bei dir stand, zu dem HERRN zu beten.
27 My prayer was for this child; and the Lord has given him to me in answer to my request:
27 C'était pour cet enfant que je priais, et l'Éternel a exaucé la prière que je lui adressais.
27 Seo é an leanbh á bhí a iarraidh agam, agus dheonaigh an Tiarna dom an rud a d'iarr mé air.
27 Por este niño oraba, y Jehová me dió lo que le pedí.
27 Um diesen Knaben bat ich. Nun hat der HERR meine Bitte gegeben, die ich von ihm bat.
28 So I have given him to the Lord; for all his life he is the Lord's. Then he gave the Lord worship there.
28 Aussi je veux le prêter à l'Éternel: il sera toute sa vie prêté à l'Éternel. Et ils se prosternèrent là devant l'Éternel.
