1 And Boaz went up to the public place of the town, and took his seat there: and the near relation of whom he had been talking came by; and Boaz, crying out to him by name, said, Come and be seated here. And he came and was seated.
1 Boaz monta à la porte, et s'y arrêta. Or voici, celui qui avait droit de rachat, et dont Boaz avait parlé, vint à passer. Boaz lui dit: Approche, reste ici, toi un tel. Et il s'approcha, et s'arrêta.

2 Then he got ten of the responsible men of the town, and said, Be seated here. And they took their seats.
2 Boaz prit alors dix hommes parmi les anciens de la ville, et il dit: Asseyez-vous ici. Et ils s'assirent.
2 Ansin rinne sé deichniúr de sheanóirí na cathrach a thoghadh agus dúirt leo: “Suígí síos anseo,” agus shuíodar.

2 Und er nahm zehn Männer von den Ältesten der Stadt und sprach: Setzt euch her! Und sie setzten sich.
3 Then he said to the near relation, Naomi, who has come back from the country of Moab, is offering for a price that bit of land which was our brother Elimelech's:
3 Puis il dit à celui qui avait le droit de rachat: Naomi, revenue du pays de Moab, a vendu la pièce de terre qui appartenait à notre frère Élimélec.

4 And it was in my mind to give you the chance of taking it, with the approval of those seated here and of the responsible men of my people. If you are ready to do what it is right for a relation to do, then do it: but if you will not do it, say so to me now; for there is no one who has the right to do it but you, and after you myself. And he said, I will do it.
4 J'ai cru devoir t'en informer, et te dire: Acquiers-la, en présence des habitants et en présence des anciens de mon peuple. Si tu veux racheter, rachète; mais si tu ne veux pas, déclare-le-moi, afin que je le sache. Car il n'y a personne avant toi qui ait le droit de rachat, et je l'ai après toi. Et il répondit: je rachèterai.

4 Y yo decidí hacértelo saber, y decirte que la tomes delante de los que están aquí sentados, y delante de los ancianos de mi pueblo. Si hubieres de redimir, redime; y si no quisieres redimir, decláramelo para que yo lo sepa: porque no hay otro que redima sino tú, y yo después de ti. Y él respondió: Yo redimiré.
4 Darum gedachte ich's vor deine Ohren zu bringen und zu sagen: Willst du es beerben, so kaufe es vor den Bürgern und vor den Ältesten meines Volkes; willst du es aber nicht beerben, so sage mir's, daß ich's wisse. Denn es ist kein Erbe außer dir und ich nach dir. Er sprach: Ich will's beerben.
5 Then Boaz said, On the day when you take this field, you will have to take with it Ruth, the Moabitess, the wife of the dead, so that you may keep the name of the dead living in his heritage.
5 Boaz dit: Le jour où tu acquerras le champ de la main de Naomi, tu l'acquerras en même temps de Ruth la Moabite, femme du défunt, pour relever le nom du défunt dans son héritage.
5 Ansin lean Boaz air: “An lá a cheannóidh tú an paiste talún ó láimh Náoimí, ceannóidh tú [Rút] chomh maith, an Móábach, baintreach an mhairbh, agus ar an gcuma sin tabharfaidh tú a ainm ar ais dá oidhreacht.”
5 Entonces replicó Booz: El mismo día que tomares las tierras de mano de Noemi, has de tomar también á Ruth Moabita, mujer del difunto, para que suscites el nombre del muerto sobre su posesión.
5 Boas sprach: Welches Tages du das Feld kaufst von der Hand Naemis, so mußt du auch Ruth, die Moabitin, des Verstorbenen Weib, nehmen, daß du dem Verstorbenen einen Namen erweckst auf seinem Erbteil.
6 And the near relation said, I am not able to do the relation's part, for fear of damaging the heritage I have: you may do it in my place, for I am not able to do it myself.
6 Et celui qui avait le droit de rachat répondit: Je ne puis pas racheter pour mon compte, crainte de détruire mon héritage; prends pour toi mon droit de rachat, car je ne puis pas racheter.
6 Ansin dúirt an té a raibh an ceart fuascailte aige: “Ní féidir dom feidhm a bhaint as mo cheart fuascailte dá réir sin gan m'oidhreacht féin a chur i bhfiontar. Cuirse féin mo cheart fuascailte i bhfeidhm ós rud é nach féidir domsa é a dhéanamh.”
6 Y respondió el pariente: No puedo redimir por mi parte, porque echaría á perder mi heredad: redime tú usando de mi derecho, porque yo no podré redimir.
6 Da sprach er: Ich vermag es nicht zu beerben, daß ich nicht vielleicht mein Erbteil verderbe. Beerbe du, was ich beerben soll; denn ich vermag es nicht zu beerben.
7 Now, in earlier times this was the way in Israel when property was taken over by a near relation, or when there was a change of owner. To make the exchange certain one man took off his shoe and gave it to the other; and this was a witness in Israel.
7 Autrefois en Israël, pour valider une affaire quelconque relative à un rachat ou à un échange, l'un ôtait son soulier et le donnait à l'autre: cela servait de témoignage en Israël.
7 Ba é an nós é sa seansaol in Iosrael i ngnóthaí fuascailte nó malartaithe, d'fhonn margadh a dhaingniú, go mbainfeadh duine a chuarán de, agus é a thabhairt don duine eile, agus ba mar sin a dhéantaí an daingniú in Iosrael i láthair finnéithe.
7 Había ya de largo tiempo esta costumbre en Israel en la redención ó contrato, que para la confirmación de cualquier negocio, el uno se quitaba el zapato y lo daba á su compañero: y este era el testimonio en Israel.
7 Und es war von alters her eine solche Gewohnheit in Israel: wenn einer ein Gut nicht beerben noch erkaufen wollte, auf daß eine Sache bestätigt würde, so zog er seinen Schuh aus und gab ihn dem andern; das war das Zeugnis in Israel.
8 So the near relation said to Boaz, Take it for yourself. And he took off his shoe.
8 Celui qui avait le droit de rachat dit donc à Boaz: Acquiers pour ton compte! Et il ôta son soulier.
8 Nuair a dúirt an gaol ba ghaire le Boaz: “Ceannaigh duit féin é,” bhain sé a chuarán de.
8 Entonces el pariente dijo á Booz: Tómalo tú. Y descalzó su zapato.
8 Und der Erbe sprach zu Boas: Kaufe du es! und zog seinen Schuh aus.
9 Then Boaz said to the responsible men and to all the people, You are witnesses today that I have taken at a price from Naomi all the property which was Elimelech's, and everything which was Chilion's and Mahlon's.
9 Alors Boaz dit aux anciens et à tout le peuple: Vous êtes témoins aujourd'hui que j'ai acquis de la main de Naomi tout ce qui appartenait à Élimélec, à Kiljon et à Machlon,
9 Ansin dúirt Boaz leis na seanóirí agus leis an bpobal uile: “Finnéithe sibh inniu air gur cheannaigh mé ó láimh Náoimí gach ar bhain le Eilímeilic, le Cilión agus le Machlón;
9 Y Booz dijo á los ancianos y á todo el pueblo: Vosotros sois hoy testigos de que tomo todas las cosas que fueron de Elimelech, y todo lo que fué de Chelión y de Mahalón, de mano de Noemi.
9 Und Boas sprach zu den Ältesten und zu allem Volk: Ihr seid heute Zeugen, daß ich alles gekauft habe, was dem Elimelech, und alles, was Chiljon und Mahlon gehört hat, von der Hand Naemis;
10 And, further, I have taken Ruth, the Moabitess, who was the wife of Mahlon, to be my wife, to keep the name of the dead man living in his heritage, so that his name may not be cut off from among his countrymen, and from the memory of his town: you are witnesses this day.
10 et que je me suis également acquis pour femme Ruth la Moabite, femme de Machlon, pour relever le nom du défunt dans son héritage, et afin que le nom du défunt ne soit point retranché d'entre ses frères et de la porte de son lieu. Vous en êtes témoins aujourd'hui!
10 mar an gcéanna gur cheannaigh mé Rút an Móábach, baintreach Mhachlón le bheith mar bhean agam, chun ainm an mhairbh a choimeád buan ar a oidhreacht d'fhonn nach dteipfeadh ainm an mhairbh i measc a bhráithre ná ag geata a bhaile dúchais. Finnéithe air sin sibhse.”
10 Y que también tomo por mi mujer á Ruth Moabita, mujer de Mahalón, para suscitar el nombre del difunto sobre su heredad, para que el nombre del muerto no se borre de entre sus hermanos y de la puerta de su lugar. Vosotros sois hoy testigos.
10 dazu auch Ruth, die Moabitin, Mahlons Weib, habe ich mir erworben zum Weibe, daß ich dem Verstorbenen einen Namen erwecke auf sein Erbteil und sein Name nicht ausgerottet werde unter seinen Brüdern und aus dem Tor seines Orts; Zeugen seid ihr des heute.
11 And all the people who were in the public place, and the responsible men, said, We are witnesses. May the Lord make this woman, who is about to come into your house, like Rachel and Leah, which two were the builders of the house of Israel: and may you have wealth in Ephrathah, and be great in Beth-lehem;
11 Tout le peuple qui était à la porte et les anciens dirent: Nous en sommes témoins! Que l'Éternel rende la femme qui entre dans ta maison semblable à Rachel et à Léa, qui toutes les deux ont bâti la maison d'Israël! Manifeste ta force dans Éphrata, et fais-toi un nom dans Bethléhem!
11 Dúirt a raibh ag an ngeata agus na seanóirí: “Is finnéithe sinn. Go ndéana an Tiarna an bhean atá ag teacht ar do theaghlach a thabhairt ar aon dul le Ráchael agus le Léá, an bheirt a thóg suas teaghlach Iosrael as láimh a chéile. Go raibh an rath ort in Eafrátá, agus cáil ort i mBeithil.
11 Y dijeron todos los del pueblo que estaban á la puerta con los ancianos: Testigos somos. Jehová haga á la mujer que entra en tu casa como á Rachêl y á Lea, las cuales dos edificaron la casa de Israel; y tú seas ilustre en Ephrata, y tengas nombradía en Beth-lehem;
11 Und alles Volk, das im Tor war, samt den Ältesten sprachen: Wir sind Zeugen. Der HERR mache das Weib, das in dein Haus kommt, wie Rahel und Leah, die beide das Haus Israels gebaut haben; und wachse sehr in Ephratha und werde gepriesen zu Bethlehem.
12 May your family be like the family of Perez, the son whom Tamar gave to Judah, from the offspring which the Lord may give you by this young woman.
12 Puisse la postérité que l'Éternel te donnera par cette jeune femme rendre ta maison semblable à la maison de Pérets, qui fut enfanté à Juda par Tamar!
12 Agus go raibh do theaghlach mar theaghlach Pheiriz [a rug Támár do Iúdá] de bharr na clainne a thabharfaidh an Tiarna duit ón mbean óg seo.”
12 Y de la simiente que Jehová te diere de aquesta moza, sea tu casa como la casa de Phares, al que parió Thamar á Judá.
12 Und dein Haus werde wie das Haus des Perez, den Thamar dem Juda gebar, von dem Samen, den dir der HERR geben wird von dieser Dirne.
13 So Boaz took Ruth and she became his wife; and he went in to her, and the Lord made her with child and she gave birth to a son.
13 Boaz prit Ruth, qui devint sa femme, et il alla vers elle. L'Éternel permit à Ruth de concevoir, et elle enfanta un fils.
13 Thóg Boaz Rút leis mar sin agus bhí sí mar bhean aige. Agus nuair a luigh siad le chéile, bhronn an Tiarna gin uirthi, agus rug sí mac.
13 Booz pues tomó á Ruth, y ella fué su mujer; y luego que entró á ella, Jehová le dió que concibiese y pariese un hijo.
13 Also nahm Boas die Ruth, daß sie sein Weib ward. Und da er zu ihr einging, gab ihr der HERR, daß sie schwanger ward und gebar einen Sohn.
14 And the women said to Naomi, A blessing on the Lord, who has not let you be this day without a near relation, and may his name be great in Israel.
14 Les femmes dirent à Naomi: Béni soit l'Éternel, qui ne t'a point laissé manquer aujourd'hui d'un homme ayant droit de rachat, et dont le nom sera célébré en Israël!
14 Agus dúirt na mná le Náoimí: “Moladh leis an Tiarna nár fhág [an marbh] gan bráthair gaoil inniu chun a ainm a bhuanú in Iosrael.
14 Y las mujeres decían á Noemi: Loado sea Jehová, que hizo que no te faltase hoy pariente, cuyo nombre será nombrado en Israel.
14 Da sprachen die Weiber zu Naemi: Gelobt sei der HERR, der dir nicht hat lassen abgehen einen Erben zu dieser Zeit, daß sein Name in Israel bliebe.
15 He will be a giver of new life to you, and your comforter when you are old, for your daughter-in-law, who, in her love for you, is better than seven sons, has given birth to him.
15 Cet enfant restaurera ton âme, et sera le soutien de ta vieillesse; car ta belle-fille, qui t'aime, l'a enfanté, elle qui vaut mieux pour toi que sept fils.
15 Tabharfaidh an leanbh misneach duit agus beidh sé mar theannta agat i do sheanaois, óir is í bean do mhic a rug é, an té ar mo é do ghrá di na do sheachtar mac.”
15 El cual será restaurador de tu alma, y el que sustentará tu vejez; pues que tu nuera, la cual te ama y te vale más que siete hijos, le ha parido.
15 Der wir dich erquicken und dein Alter versorgen. Denn deine Schwiegertochter, die dich geliebt hat, hat ihn geboren, welche dir besser ist als sieben Söhne.
16 And Naomi took the child and put her arms round it, and she took care of it.
16 Naomi prit l'enfant et le mit sur son sein, et elle fut sa garde.

16 Und Naemi nahm das Kind und legte es auf ihren Schoß und ward seine Wärterin.
17 And the women who were her neighbours gave it a name, saying, Naomi has a child; and they gave him the name of Obed: he is the father of Jesse, the father of David.
17 Les voisines lui donnèrent un nom, en disant: Un fils est né à Naomi! Et elles l'appelèrent Obed. Ce fut le père d'Isaï père de David.
17 Agus thug mná na comharsanachta ainm air. “Saolaíodh mac do Náoimí,” a dúradar, agus thugadar Óbaed air. Ba eisean athair Ieise, athair Dháiví.
17 Y las vecinas diciendo, á Noemi ha nacido un hijo, le pusieron nombre; y llamáronle Obed. Este es padre de Isaí, padre de David.
17 Und ihre Nachbarinnen gaben ihm einen Namen und sprachen: Naemi ist ein Kind geboren; und hießen ihn Obed. Der ist der Vater Isais, welcher ist Davids Vater.
18 Now these are the generations of Perez: Perez became the father of Hezron;
