1 And Naomi had a relation of her husband, a man of wealth, of the family of Elimelech; and his name was Boaz.
1 Naomi avait un parent de son mari. C'était un homme puissant et riche, de la famille d'Élimélec, et qui se nommait Boaz.

1 Y Tenia Noemi un pariente de su marido, varón poderoso y de hecho, de la familia de Elimelech, el cual se llamaba Booz.
1 Es war auch ein Mann, ein Verwandter des Mannes der Naemi, von dem Geschlecht Elimelechs, mit Namen Boas; der war ein wohlhabender Mann.
2 And Ruth the Moabitess said to Naomi, Now let me go into the field and take up the heads of grain after him in whose eyes I may have grace. And she said to her, Go, my daughter.
2 Ruth la Moabite dit à Naomi: Laisse-moi, je te prie, aller glaner des épis dans le champ de celui aux yeux duquel je trouverai grâce. Elle lui répondit: Va, ma fille.
2 Dúirt Rút an Móábach mná le Náoimí: “Lig dom dul amach sna goirt chun na diasa a bhailiú i ndiaidh duine éigin a mbeadh lé aige liom.” “Imigh leat, a iníon ó,” ar sise léi.
2 Y Ruth la Moabita dijo á Noemi: Ruégote que me dejes ir al campo, y cogeré espigas en pos de aquel á cuyos ojos hallare gracia. Y ella le respondió: Ve, hija mía.
2 Und Ruth, die Moabitin, sprach zu Naemi: Laß mich aufs Feld gehen und Ähren auflesen dem nach, vor dem ich Gnade finde. Sie aber sprach zu ihr: Gehe hin, meine Tochter.
3 And she went, and came and took up the heads of grain in the field after the cutters; and by chance she went into that part of the field which was the property of Boaz, who was of the family of Elimelech.
3 Elle alla glaner dans un champ, derrière les moissonneurs. Et il se trouva par hasard que la pièce de terre appartenait à Boaz, qui était de la famille d'Élimélec.
3 D'imigh sí léi agus bhí sí ag bailiú na ndias i ndiaidh na mbuanaithe sna goirt agus tháinig sí go cuid Bhoaz, d'fhine Eilímeilic, den ithir.
3 Fué pues, y llegando, espigó en el campo en pos de los segadores: y aconteció por ventura, que la suerte del campo era de Booz, el cual era de la parentela de Elimelech.
3 Sie ging hin, kam und las auf, den Schnittern nach, auf dem Felde. Und es begab sich eben, daß dasselbe Feld war des Boas, der von dem Geschlecht Elimelechs war.
4 And Boaz came from Beth-lehem, and said to the grain-cutters, The Lord be with you. And they made answer, The Lord give you his blessing.
4 Et voici, Boaz vint de Bethléhem, et il dit aux moissonneurs: Que l'Éternel soit avec vous! Ils lui répondirent: Que l'Éternel te bénisse!
4 Seo Boaz ag teacht ó Bheithil agus bheannaigh do na buanaithe: “Go raibh an Tiarna libh,” ar sé. D'fhreagair siadsan: “Go mbeannaí an Tiarna thú féin.”
4 Y he aquí que Booz vino de Beth-lehem, y dijo á los segadores: Jehová sea con vosotros. Y ellos respondieron: Jehová te bendiga.
4 Und siehe, Boas kam eben von Bethlehem und sprach zu den Schnittern: Der HERR mit euch! Sie antworteten: Der HERR segne dich!
5 Then Boaz said to his servant who was in authority over the cutters, Whose girl is this?
5 Et Boaz dit à son serviteur chargé de surveiller les moissonneurs: A qui est cette jeune femme?
5 Ansin dúirt Boaz leis an seirbhíseach a bhí aige i bhfeighil na meithle: “Cér díobh an cailín seo?”
5 Y Booz dijo á su criado el sobrestante de los segadores: ¿Cúya es esta moza?
5 Und Boas sprach zu seinem Knechte, der über die Schnitter gestellt war: Wes ist die Dirne?
6 And the servant who was in authority over the cutters said, It is a Moabite girl who came back with Naomi out of the country of Moab;
6 Le serviteur chargé de surveiller les moissonneurs répondit: C'est une jeune femme Moabite, qui est revenue avec Naomi du pays de Moab.
6 D'fhreagair saoiste na meithle: “Sin í an cailín Móábach a tháinig ar ais le Náoimí ó thír Mhóáb,
6 Y el criado, sobrestante de los segadores, respondió y dijo: Es la moza de Moab, que volvió con Noemi de los campos de Moab;
6 Der Knecht, der über die Schnitter gestellt war, antwortete und sprach: Es ist die Dirne, die Moabitin, die mit Naemi wiedergekommen ist von der Moabiter Lande.
7 And she said to me, Let me come into the grain-field and take up the grain after the cutters. So she came, and has been here from morning till now, without resting even for a minute.
7 Elle a dit: Permettez-moi de glaner et de ramasser des épis entre les gerbes, derrière les moissonneurs. Et depuis ce matin qu'elle est venue, elle a été debout jusqu'à présent, et ne s'est reposée qu'un moment dans la maison.
7 agus dúirt sí: ‘Lig dom le do thoil na diasa a dhíolaim agus a bhailiú i measc na bpunann i ndiaidh na meithle.’ Tháinig sí más ea agus tá sí ar a cosa gan stad ó mhaidin go moch.”
7 Y ha dicho: Ruégote que me dejes coger y juntar tras los segadores entre las gavillas: entró pues, y está desde por la mañana hasta ahora, menos un poco que se detuvo en casa.
7 Denn sie sprach: Laßt mich doch auflesen und sammeln unter den Garben, den Schnittern nach; und ist also gekommen und dagestanden vom Morgen an bis her und bleibt wenig daheim.
8 Then said Boaz to Ruth, Give ear to me, my daughter: do not go to take up the grain in another field, or go away from here, but keep here by my young women:
8 Boaz dit à Ruth: Écoute, ma fille, ne va pas glaner dans un autre champ; ne t'éloigne pas d'ici, et reste avec mes servantes.
8 Dúirt Boaz le Rút: “Éist liom anois, a iníon ó, agus tuig é seo uaim: ná téighse a dhíolaim in aon ghort eile. Ná fág an áit seo ach lean go dlúth mo mheithealsa.
8 Entonces Booz dijo á Ruth: Oye, hija mía, no vayas á espigar á otro campo, ni pases de aquí: y aquí estarás con mis mozas.
8 Da sprach Boas zu Ruth: Hörst du es, meine Tochter? Du sollst nicht gehen auf einen andern Acker, aufzulesen, und gehe auch nicht von hinnen, sondern halte dich zu meinen Dirnen.
9 Keep your eyes on the field they are cutting, and go after them; have I not given orders to the young men not to put a hand on you? And when you are in need of drink go to the vessels and take of what the young men have put there.
9 Regarde où l'on moissonne dans le champ, et va après elles. J'ai défendu à mes serviteurs de te toucher. Et quand tu auras soif, tu iras aux vases, et tu boiras de ce que les serviteurs auront puisé.
9 Bíodh do shúil agat ar an gcuid sin den ghort a bhíonn á bhaint acu agus bí ina ndiaidh aniar. Tá ordú tugtha agam do mo sheirbhísigh gan cur isteach ort. Má bhíonn tart ort, buail síos chun na soithí agus ól deoch as ar tharraing na giollaí.”
9 Mira bien el campo que segaren, y síguelas: porque yo he mandado á los mozos que no te toquen. Y si tuvieres sed, ve á los vasos, y bebe del agua que sacaren los mozos.
9 Und siehe, wo sie schneiden im Felde, da gehe ihnen nach. Ich habe meinen Knechten geboten, daß dich niemand antaste. Und so dich dürstet, so gehe hin zu dem Gefäß und trinke von dem, was meine Knechte schöpfen.
10 Then she went down on her face to the earth, and said to him, Why have I grace in your eyes, that you give attention to me, seeing I am from a strange people?
10 Alors elle tomba sur sa face et se prosterna contre terre, et elle lui dit: Comment ai-je trouvé grâce à tes yeux, pour que tu t'intéresses à moi, à moi qui suis une étrangère?
10 Ansin shléacht Rút roimhe agus chrom go talamh, á rá: “Cad chuige duit a bheith chomh lách liom agus a leithéid de chúram a dhéanamh díom agus gan ionam ach strainséir?”
10 Ella entonces bajando su rostro inclinóse á tierra, y díjole: ¿Por qué he hallado gracia en tus ojos para que tú me reconozcas, siendo yo extranjera?
10 Da fiel sie auf ihr Angesicht und beugte sich nieder zur Erde und sprach zu ihm: Womit habe ich die Gnade gefunden vor deinen Augen, daß du mich ansiehst, die ich doch fremd bin?
11 And Boaz answering said to her, I have had news of everything you have done for your mother-in-law after the death of your husband; how you went away from your father and mother and the land of your birth, and came to a people who are strange to you.
11 Boaz lui répondit: On m'a rapporté tout ce que tu as fait pour ta belle-mère depuis la mort de ton mari, et comment tu as quitté ton père et ta mère et le pays de ta naissance, pour aller vers un peuple que tu ne connaissais point auparavant.
11 D'fhreagair Boaz: “Insíodh dom go hiomlán an uile ní dá ndearna tú ar son mháthair do chéile ón uair a fuair d'fhear bás; mar a d'fhág tú d'athair agus do mháthair agus do thír dhúchais i do dhiaidh agus gur tháinig tú go muintir nárbh aithnid duit roimhe seo.
11 Y respondiendo Booz, díjole: Por cierto se me ha declarado todo lo que has hecho con tu suegra después de la muerte de tu marido, y que dejando á tu padre y á tu madre y la tierra donde naciste, has venido á pueblo que no conociste antes.
11 Boas antwortete und sprach zu ihr: Es ist mir angesagt alles, was du hast getan an deiner Schwiegermutter nach deines Mannes Tod: daß du verlassen hast deinen Vater und deine Mutter und dein Vaterland und bist zu meinem Volk gezogen, das du zuvor nicht kanntest.
12 The Lord give you a reward for what you have done, and may a full reward be given to you by the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take cover.
12 Que l'Éternel te rende ce que tu as fait, et que ta récompense soit entière de la part de l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël, sous les ailes duquel tu es venue te réfugier!
12 Go gcúití an Tiarna do shaothar leat, agus go dtuga an Tiarna Dia Iosrael luach saothair iomlán duit ós rud é gur tháinig tú ag lorg dídine faoi scáth a sciathán.”
12 Jehová galardone tu obra, y tu remuneración sea llena por Jehová Dios de Israel, que has venido para cubrirte debajo de sus alas.
12 Der HERR vergelte dir deine Tat, und dein Lohn müsse vollkommen sein bei dem HERRN, dem Gott Israels, zu welchem du gekommen bist, daß du unter seinen Flügeln Zuversicht hättest.
13 Then she said, May I have grace in your eyes, my lord, for you have given me comfort, and you have said kind words to your servant, though I am not like one of your servants.
13 Et elle dit: Oh! que je trouve grâce à tes yeux, mon seigneur! Car tu m'as consolée, et tu as parlé au coeur de ta servante. Et pourtant je ne suis pas, moi, comme l'une de tes servantes.
13 Ansin dúirt sí: “Nach lách atá tú liom, a mháistir, mar thug tú sólás dom agus labhair tú go séimh liomsa, do bhanseirbhíseach, dá shuaraí mé, agus gan mé ar chomhchéim le duine de do bhanseirbhísigh.”
13 Y ella dijo: Señor mío, halle yo gracia delante de tus ojos; porque me has consolado, y porque has hablado al corazón de tu sierva, no siendo yo como una de tus criadas.
13 Sie sprach: Laß mich Gnade vor deinen Augen finden, mein Herr; denn du hast mich getröstet und deine Magd freundlich angesprochen, so ich doch nicht bin wie deiner Mägde eine.
14 And at meal-time Boaz said to her, Come here, and take some of the bread, and put your bit into the wine. And she took her seat among the grain-cutters: and he gave her dry grain, and she took it, and there was more than enough for her meal.
14 Au moment du repas, Boaz dit à Ruth: Approche, mange du pain, et trempe ton morceau dans le vinaigre. Elle s'assit à côté des moissonneurs. On lui donna du grain rôti; elle mangea et se rassasia, et elle garda le reste.
14 Am dinnéir dúirt Boaz léi: “Tar agus ith smut den arán seo agus tum do ghreim san fhíon.” Shuigh Rút leis an meitheal, agus rinne Boaz [carnán] grán dóite di agus d'ith sí a sáith de agus bhí fuílleach aici.
14 Y Booz le dijo á la hora de comer: Allégate aquí, y come del pan, y moja tu bocado en el vinagre. Y sentóse ella junto á los segadores, y él le dió del potaje, y comió hasta que se hartó y le sobró.
14 Boas sprach zu ihr, da Essenszeit war: Mache dich hier herzu und iß vom Brot und tauche deinen Bissen in den Essig. Und sie setzte sich zur Seite der Schnitter. Er aber legte ihr geröstete Körner vor, und sie aß und ward satt und ließ übrig.
15 And when she got ready to take up the grain, Boaz gave his young men orders, saying, Let her take it even from among the cut grain, and say nothing to her.
15 Puis elle se leva pour glaner. Boaz donna cet ordre à ses serviteurs: Qu'elle glane aussi entre les gerbes, et ne l'inquiétez pas,
15 Ansin d'éirigh sí arís chun díolama agus thug Boaz ordú dá ghiollaí: “Ligigí di díolaim i measc na bpunann féin agus ná cuirigí isteach uirthi.
15 Levantóse luego para espigar. Y Booz mandó á sus criados, diciendo: Coja también espigas entre las gavillas, y no la avergoncéis;
15 Und da sie sich aufmachte, zu lesen, gebot Boas seinen Knechten und sprach: Laßt sie auch zwischen den Garben lesen und beschämt sie nicht;
16 And let some heads of grain be pulled out of what has been corded up, and dropped for her to take, and let no sharp word be said to her.
16 et même vous ôterez pour elle des gerbes quelques épis, que vous la laisserez glaner, sans lui faire de reproches.
16 Agus tarraingígí roinnt diasa as na punanna agus fágaigí ansiúd roimpi iad le bailiú agus ná bígí á ceartú.”
16 Antes echaréis á sabiendas de los manojos, y la dejaréis que coja, y no la reprendáis.
16 Auch von den Haufen laßt übrigbleiben und laßt liegen, daß sie es auflese, und niemand schelte sie darum.
17 So she went on getting together the heads of grain till evening; and after crushing out the seed it came to about an ephah of grain.
17 Elle glana dans le champ jusqu'au soir, et elle battit ce qu'elle avait glané. Il y eut environ un épha d'orge.
17 Rinne sí díolaim mar sin sa ghort go tráthnóna. Ansin rinne sí a cnuasach a bhualadh agus bhí timpeall éafá eorna ann.
17 Y espigó en el campo hasta la tarde, y desgranó lo que había cogido, y fué como un epha de cebada.
17 Also las sie auf dem Felde bis zum Abend und schlug's aus, was sie aufgelesen hatte; und es war bei einem Epha Gerste.
18 And she took it up and went into the town; and she let her mother-in-law see what she had got, and after taking enough for herself she gave her the rest.
18 Elle l'emporta et rentra dans la ville, et sa belle-mère vit ce qu'elle avait glané. Elle sortit aussi les restes de son repas, et les lui donna.
18 Thug sí léi é agus d'imigh isteach sa chathair; thaispeáin sí a cnuasach do mháthair a céile. Leag sí os a comhair chomh maith an bia a bhí fágtha tar éis di féin a sáith a ithe agus thug di é.
18 Y tomólo, y vínose á la ciudad; y su suegra vió lo que había cogido. Sacó también luego lo que le había sobrado después de harta, y dióselo.
18 Und sie hob's auf und kam in die Stadt; und ihre Schwiegermutter sah es, was sie gelesen hatte. Da zog sie hervor und gab ihr, was übriggeblieben war, davon sie satt war geworden.
19 And her mother-in-law said to her, Where did you take up the grain today, and where were you working? May a blessing be on him who gave such attention to you. And she gave her mother-in-law an account of where she had been working, and said, The name of the man with whom I was working today is Boaz.
19 Sa belle-mère lui dit: Où as-tu glané aujourd'hui, et où as-tu travaillé? Béni soit celui qui s'est intéressé à toi! Et Ruth fit connaître à sa belle mère chez qui elle avait travaillé: L'homme chez qui j'ai travaillé aujourd'hui, dit-elle, s'appelle Boaz.
19 Dúirt máthair a céile léi: “Cá raibh tú ag díolaim inniu? Cá raibh tú ag obair? Go raibh beannacht ar an té a thóg ceann duit!” Ansin d'inis Rút do mháthair a céile cé leis a ndearna sí an díolaim, agus dúirt: “Boaz is ainm don té a raibh mé ag obair leis inniu.”
19 Y díjole su suegra: ¿Dónde has espigado hoy? ¿y dónde has trabajado? bendito sea el que te ha reconocido. Y ella declaró á su suegra lo que le había acontecido con aquél, y dijo: El nombre del varón con quien hoy he trabajado es Booz.
19 Da sprach ihre Schwiegermutter zu ihr: Wo hast du heute gelesen, und wo hast du gearbeitet? Gesegnet sei, der dich angesehen hat! Sie aber sagte es ihrer Schwiegermutter, bei wem sie gearbeitet hätte, und sprach: Der Mann, bei dem ich heute gearbeitet habe, heißt Boas.
20 And Naomi said to her daughter-in-law, May the blessing of the Lord, who has at all times been kind to the living and to the dead, be on him. And Naomi said to her, The man is of our family, one of our near relations.
20 Naomi dit à sa belle-fille: Qu'il soit béni de l'Éternel, qui se montre miséricordieux pour les vivants comme il le fut pour ceux qui sont morts! Cet homme est notre parent, lui dit encore Naomi, il est de ceux qui ont sur nous droit de rachat.
20 Dúirt Náoimí le bean a mic: “Go raibh beannacht ón Tiarna ar an té nár theip a chineáltas ar an marbh ná ar an mbeo.” Agus lean Náoimí uirthi á rá léi: “Is gairid é gaol an duine sin linn; tá sé ar na daoine a bhfuil ceart fuascailte acu orainn.”
20 Y dijo Noemi á su nuera: Sea él bendito de Jehová, pues que no ha rehusado á los vivos la benevolencia que tuvo para con los finados. Díjole después Noemi: Nuestro pariente es aquel varón, y de nuestros redentores es.
20 Naemi aber sprach zu ihrer Schwiegertochter: Gesegnet sei er dem HERRN! denn er hat seine Barmherzigkeit nicht gelassen an den Lebendigen und an den Toten. Und Naemi sprach zu ihr: Der Mann gehört zu uns und ist unser Erbe.
21 And Ruth the Moabitess said, Truly, he said to me, Keep near my young men till all my grain is cut.
21 Ruth la Moabite ajouta: Il m'a dit aussi: Reste avec mes serviteurs, jusqu'à ce qu'ils aient achevé toute ma moisson.
21 Labhair Rút an Móábach mná ansin: “Dúirt sé liom chomh maith,” ar sí, “ ‘lean ar shála mo mheithle go dtí go mbeidh m'fhómhar go léir bainte acu.’ ”
21 Y Ruth Moabita dijo: á más de esto me ha dicho: Júntate con mis criados, hasta que hayan acabado toda mi siega.
21 Ruth, die Moabitin, sprach: Er sprach auch das zu mir: Du sollst dich zu meinen Leuten halten, bis sie mir alles eingeerntet haben.
22 And Naomi said to Ruth, her daughter-in-law, It is better, my daughter, for you to go out with his servant-girls, so that no danger may come to you in another field.
22 Et Naomi dit à Ruth, sa belle-fille: Il est bon, ma fille, que tu sortes avec ses servantes, et qu'on ne te rencontre pas dans un autre champ.
22 Agus dúirt Náoimí le Rút baintreach a mic: “Is fearr duit dul amach lena mheithealsan in áit dul go gort eile mar ar bhaol go gcuirfí isteach ort.”
22 Y Noemi respondió á Ruth su nuera: Mejor es, hija mía, que salgas con sus criadas, que no que te encuentren en otro campo.
22 Naemi sprach zu Ruth, ihrer Schwiegertochter: Es ist gut, meine Tochter, daß du mit seinen Dirnen ausgehst, auf daß nicht jemand dir dreinrede auf einem andern Acker.
23 So she kept near the servant-girls of Boaz to take up the grain till the cutting of the early grain and the cutting of the late grain were ended; and she went on living with her mother-in-law.
23 Elle resta donc avec les servantes de Boaz, pour glaner, jusqu'à la fin de la moisson des orges et de la moisson du froment. Et elle demeurait avec sa belle-mère.
