1 Now the men of Ephraim came together and took up arms and went over to Zaphon; and they said to Jephthah, Why did you go over to make war against the children of Ammon without sending for us to go with you? Now we will put your house on fire over you.
1 Les hommes d'Éphraïm se rassemblèrent, partirent pour le nord, et dirent à Jephthé: Pourquoi es-tu allé combattre les fils d'Ammon sans nous avoir appelés à marcher avec toi? Nous voulons incendier ta maison et te brûler avec elle.
1 Tionóladh fir Eafráim, agus chuadar sall i dtreo Záfón, agus dúradar le Iaftá: “Cén fáth a ndeachaigh tú sall chun catha leis na hAmónaigh gan a iarraidh orainne dul leat? Cuirfimid do theach trí thine ar do mhullach.”
1 Y Juntandose los varones de Ephraim, pasaron hacia el aquilón, y dijeron á Jephté: ¿Por qué fuiste á hacer guerra contra los hijos de Ammón, y no nos llamaste para que fuéramos contigo? Nosotros quemaremos á fuego tu casa contigo.
1 Und die von Ephraim kamen zuhauf und gingen mitternachtwärts und sprachen zu Jephthah: Warum bist du in den Streit gezogen wider die Kinder Ammon und hast uns nicht gerufen, daß wir mit dir zögen? Wir wollen dein Haus samt dir mit Feuer verbrennen.
2 And Jephthah said to them, I and my people were in danger, and the children of Ammon were very cruel to us, and when I sent for you, you gave me no help against them.
2 Jephthé leur répondit: Nous avons eu de grandes contestations, moi et mon peuple, avec les fils d'Ammon; et quand je vous ai appelés, vous ne m'avez pas délivré de leurs mains.
2 D'fhreagair Iaftá iad: “Bhí brú mór orm féin agus ar mo mhuintir; bhí na hAmónaigh ag luí go crua orainn. Ghlaoigh mé oraibh teacht, ach níor fhuascail sibh mé as a lámha.
2 Y Jephté les respondió: Yo tuve, y mi pueblo, una gran contienda con los hijos de Ammón, y os llamé, y no me defendisteis de sus manos.
2 Jephthah sprach zu ihnen: ich und mein Volk hatten eine große Sache mit den Kindern Ammon, und ich schrie euch an, aber ihr halft mir nicht aus ihren Händen.
3 So when I saw that there was no help to be had from you, I put my life in my hand and went over against the children of Ammon, and the Lord gave them into my hands: why then have you come up to me this day to make war on me?
3 Voyant que tu ne venais pas à mon secours, j'ai exposé ma vie, et j'ai marché contre les fils d'Ammon. L'Éternel les a livrés entre mes mains. Pourquoi donc aujourd'hui montez-vous contre moi pour me faire la guerre?
3 Nuair a chonaic mé nach dtiocfadh sibh i gcabhair orm, chuir mé m'anam i bhfiontar agus chuir mé chun bóthair in aghaidh na nAmónach, agus thug an Tiarna ar láimh dom iad. Cén fáth a bhfuil sibhse ag teacht inniu chun cogadh a chur orm?”
3 Viendo pues que no me defendíais, puse mi alma en mi palma, y pasé contra los hijos de Ammón, y Jehová los entregó en mi mano: ¿por qué pues habéis subido hoy contra mí para pelear conmigo?
3 Da ich nun sah, daß ihr nicht helfen wolltet, stellte ich meine Seele in meine Hand und zog hin wider die Kinder Ammon, und der HERR gab sie in meine Hand. Warum kommt ihr nun zu mir herauf, wider mich zu streiten?
4 Then Jephthah got together all the men of Gilead and made war on Ephraim; and the men of Gilead overcame Ephraim.
4 Jephthé rassembla tous les hommes de Galaad, et livra bataille à Éphraïm. Les hommes de Galaad battirent Éphraïm, parce que les Éphraïmites disaient: Vous êtes des fugitifs d'Éphraïm! Galaad est au milieu d'Éphraïm, au milieu de Manassé!
4 Ansin chruinnigh Iaftá sluaite Ghileád go léir agus chuir cath ar Eafráim, agus chuir sluaite Ghileád an teitheadh ar Eafráim mar go raibh siadsan á rá: “Níl ionaibh ach lucht tréigthe Eafráim, a Ghileádacha, i lár Eafráim agus Mhanaise!”
4 Y juntando Jephté á todos los varones de Galaad, peleó contra Ephraim; y los de Galaad hirieron á Ephraim, porque habían dicho: Vosotros sois fugitivos de Ephraim, vosotros sois Galaaditas entre Ephraim y Manasés.
4 Und Jephthah sammelte alle Männer in Gilead und stritt wider Ephraim. Und die Männer in Gilead schlugen Ephraim, darum daß sie sagten: Seid doch ihr Gileaditer unter Ephraim und Manasse als die Flüchtigen Ephraims.
5 And the Gileadites took the crossing-places of Jordan against the Ephraimites; and when any of the men of Ephraim who had gone in flight said, let me go over; the men of Gilead said to him, Are you an Ephraimite? And if he said, No;
5 Galaad s'empara des gués du Jourdain du côté d'Éphraïm. Et quand l'un des fuyards d'Éphraïm disait: Laissez-moi passer! les hommes de Galaad lui demandaient: Es-tu Éphraïmite? Il répondait: Non.
5 Ghabh na Gileádaigh áthanna na Iordáine ar na hEafráimigh. Ansin nuair a deireadh aon teifeach ó Eafráim: “Scaoil anonn mé!” deireadh fir Ghileád: “An as Eafráim duit?” Nuair a deireadh sé: “Ní hea,”
5 Y los Galaaditas tomaron los vados del Jordán á Ephraim; y era que, cuando alguno de los de Ephraim que había huído, decía, ¿pasaré? los de Galaad le preguntaban: ¿Eres tú Ephrateo? Si él respondía, No;
5 Und die Gileaditer nahmen ein die Furten des Jordans vor Ephraim. Wenn nun die Flüchtigen Ephraims sprachen: Laß mich hinübergehen! so sprachen die Männer von Gilead zu Ihm: Bist du ein Ephraimiter? Wenn er dann antwortete: Nein!
6 Then they said to him, Now say Shibboleth; and he said Sibboleth, and was not able to say it in the right way; then they took him and put him to death at the crossing-places of Jordan; and at that time forty-two thousand Ephraimites were put to death.
6 Ils lui disaient alors: Hé bien, dis Schibboleth. Et il disait Sibboleth, car il ne pouvait pas bien prononcer. Sur quoi les hommes de Galaad le saisissaient, et l'égorgeaient près des gués du Jourdain. Il périt en ce temps-là quarante-deux mille hommes d'Éphraïm.
6 deiridís leis: “Abair sibolet más ea,” agus deireadh sé: “Suibolet,” mar nach bhfeadfadh sé an focal a fhoghrú i gceart. Ansin ghabhaidís é agus chuiridís chun báis é ag áthanna na Iordáine. Cailleadh dhá mhile agus daichead d'fhir Eafráim an uair sin.
6 Entonces le decían: Ahora pues, di, Shiboleth. Y él decía, Siboleth; porque no podía pronunciar de aquella suerte. Entonces le echaban mano, y le degollaban junto á los vados del Jordán. Y murieron entonces de los de Ephraim cuarenta y dos mil.
6 hießen sie ihn sprechen: Schiboleth; so sprach er Siboleth und konnte es nicht recht reden; alsdann griffen sie ihn schlugen ihn an den Furten des Jordans, daß zu der Zeit von Ephraim fielen zweiundvierzigtausend.
7 Now Jephthah was judge of Israel for six years. And Jephthah the Gileadite came to his death, and his body was put to rest in his town, Mizpeh of Gilead.
7 Jephthé fut juge en Israël pendant six ans; puis Jephthé, le Galaadite, mourut, et fut enterré dans l'une des villes de Galaad.
7 Bhí Iaftá ina bhreitheamh in Iosrael ar feadh sé bliana. Ansin d'éag Iaftá an Gileádach agus adhlacadh é ina chathair féin, Mizpeá i nGileád. Mion-Bhreithiúna
7 Y Jephté juzgó á Israel seis años: luego murió Jephté Galaadita, y fué sepultado en una de las ciudades de Galaad.
7 Jephthah aber richtete Israel sechs Jahre. Und Jephthah, der Gileaditer, starb und ward begraben in den Städten zu Gilead.
8 And after him, Ibzan of Beth-lehem was judge of Israel.
8 Après lui, Ibtsan de Bethléhem fut juge en Israël.
8 Ina dhiaidhsean bhí Ibzeán ó Bheithil ina bhreitheamh in Iosrael.
8 Después de él juzgó á Israel Ibzan de Beth-lehem;
8 Nach diesem richtete Israel Ebzan von Bethlehem.
9 He had thirty sons, and thirty daughters whom he sent to other places, and he got thirty wives from other places for his sons. And he was judge of Israel for seven years.
9 Il eut trente fils, il maria trente filles au dehors, et il fit venir pour ses fils trente filles du dehors. Il fut juge en Israël pendant sept ans;
9 Bhí deichniúr is fiche mac aige agus deichniúr agus fiche iníon. Thug sé a iníonacha le pósadh lasmuigh dá fhine, agus thug deichniúr is fiche brídeog isteach chun a chlann mhac. Bhí sé ina bhreitheamh in Iosrael ar feadh seacht mbliana.
9 El cual tuvo treinta hijos y treinta hijas, las cuales casó fuera, y tomó de fuera treinta hijas para sus hijos: y juzgó á Israel siete años.
9 Der hatte dreißig Söhne, und dreißig Töchter gab er hinaus, und dreißig Töchter nahm er von außen seinen Söhnen; er richtete Israel sieben Jahre
10 And Ibzan came to his death and his body was put to rest at Beth-lehem.
10 puis Ibtsan mourut, et fut enterré à Bethléhem.
10 Ansin fuair Ibzeán bás agus adhlacadh é i mBeithil.
10 Y murió Ibzan, y fué sepultado en Beth-lehem.
10 und starb und ward begraben zu Bethlehem.
11 And after him, Elon the Zebulonite was judge of Israel; and he was judge of Israel for ten years.
11 Après lui, Élon de Zabulon fut juge en Israël. Il fut juge en Israël pendant dix ans;
11 Bhí Éalón as Zabúlun ina bhreitheamh in Iosrael ina dhiaidh. Bhí sé ina bhreitheamh in Iosrael ar feadh deich mbliana.
11 Después de él juzgó á Israel Elón, Zabulonita, el cual juzgó á Israel diez años.

12 And Elon the Zebulonite came to his death, and his body was put to rest in Aijalon in the land of Zebulun.
12 puis Élon de Zabulon mourut, et fut enterré à Ajalon, dans le pays de Zabulon.
12 Ansin d'éag Éalón as Zabúlun agus adhlacadh é in [Éalón] i dtír Zabúlun.
12 Y murió Elón, Zabulonita, y fué sepultado en Ajalón en la tierra de Zabulón.
12 und starb und ward begraben zu Ajalon im Lande Sebulon.
13 And after him, Abdon, the son of Hillel, the Pirathonite, was judge of Israel.
13 Après lui, Abdon, fils d'Hillel, le Pirathonite, fut juge en Israël.
13 Bhí Abdón mac Hilléil ó Phireátón ina bhreitheamh ina dhiaidh.
13 Después de él juzgó á Israel Abdón hijo de Hillel, Piratonita.
13 Nach diesem richtete Israel Abdon, ein Sohn Hillels, ein Pirathoniter.
14 He had forty sons and thirty sons' sons who went on seventy young asses; and he was judge of Israel for eight years.
14 Il eut quarante fils et trente petits-fils, qui montaient sur soixante dix ânons. Il fut juge en Israël pendant huit ans;
14 Bhí daichead mac agus tríocha mac mic aige agus dhéanaidís marcaíocht ar seachtó asal. Bhí sé ina bhreitheamh in Iosrael ar feadh ocht mbliana.

15 And Abdon, the son of Hillel, came to his death, and his body was put to rest in Pirathon in the land of Ephraim, in the hill-country of the Amalekites.
15 puis Abdon, fils d'Hillel, le Pirathonite, mourut, et fut enterré à Pirathon, dans le pays d'Éphraïm, sur la montagne des Amalécites.
