1 And the men of Ephraim came and said to him, Why did you not send for us when you went to war against Midian? And they said sharp and angry words to him.
1 Les hommes d'Éphraïm dirent à Gédéon: Que signifie cette manière d'agir envers nous? pourquoi ne pas nous avoir appelés, quand tu es allé combattre Madian? Et ils eurent avec lui une violente querelle.

1 Y Los de Ephraim le dijeron: ¿Qué es esto que has hecho con nosotros, no llamándonos cuando ibas á la guerra contra Madián? Y reconviniéronlo fuertemente.
1 Und die Männer von Ephraim sprachen zu ihm: Warum hast du uns das getan, daß du uns nicht riefst, da du in den Streit zogst wider die Midianiter? Und zankten mit ihm heftig.
2 And he said to them, What have I done in comparison with you? Is not that which Ephraim took up after the grape-cutting better than all the grapes which Abiezer got in from the grape-cutting?
2 Gédéon leur répondit: Qu'ai-je fait en comparaison de vous? Le grappillage d'Éphraïm ne vaut-il pas mieux que la vendange d'Abiézer?
2 ach d'fhreagair sé iad: “Cad tá déanta agamsa seachas agaibhse? Nach fearr ceannóga finiúna Eafráim ná fómhar fíona Aibíeizir?
2 A los cuales él respondió: ¿Qué he hecho yo ahora como vosotros? ¿No es el rebusco de Ephraim mejor que la vendimia de Abiezer?
2 Er aber sprach zu ihnen: Was habe ich jetzt getan, das eurer Tat gleich sei? Ist nicht die Nachlese Ephraims besser denn die ganze Weinernte Abiesers?
3 God has given into your hands the chiefs of Midian, Oreb and Zeeb; what have I been able to do in comparison with you? And when he said this, their feeling about him became kinder.
3 C'est entre vos mains que Dieu a livré les chefs de Madian, Oreb et Zeeb. Qu'ai-je donc pu faire en comparaison de vous? Lorsqu'il eut ainsi parlé, leur colère contre lui s'apaisa.
3 Thug Dia taoisigh Mhidián, Oraeb agus Zeib, ar láimh daoibh. Cad a ba fhéidir domsa a dhéanamh seachas sibhse?” Ansin chuaigh a bhfearg ar ceal ar chlos na bhfocal sin. Cogadh Thoir
3 Dios ha entregado en vuestras manos á Oreb y á Zeeb, príncipes de Madián: ¿y qué pude yo hacer como vosotros? Entonces el enojo de ellos contra él se aplacó, luego que él habló esta palabra.
3 Gott hat die Fürsten der Midianiter, Oreb und Seeb, in eure Hände gegeben. Wie hätte ich können das tun, was ihr getan habt? Da er solches redete, ließ ihr Zorn von ihm ab.
4 Then Gideon came to Jordan and went over it with his three hundred, overcome with weariness and in need of food.
4 Gédéon arriva au Jourdain, et il le passa, lui et les trois cents hommes qui étaient avec lui, fatigués, mais poursuivant toujours.

4 Y vino Gedeón al Jordán para pasar, él y los trescientos hombres que traía consigo, cansados del alcance.
4 Da nun Gideon an den Jordan kam, ging er hinüber mit den dreihundert Mann, die bei ihm waren; die waren müde und jagten nach.
5 And he said to the men of Succoth, Give bread cakes to my people, for they are overcome with weariness, and I am going on after Zebah and Zalmunna, the kings of Midian.
5 Il dit aux gens de Succoth: Donnez, je vous prie, quelques pains au peuple qui m'accompagne, car ils sont fatigués, et je suis à la poursuite de Zébach et de Tsalmunna, rois de Madian.
5 Dúirt sé dá bhrí sin le muintir Shucót: “Tugaigí roinnt builíní aráin do mo lucht leanúna, le bhur dtoil, mar tá siad traochta agus táimse sa tóir ar Zeaba agus Zalmuná, ríthe Mhidián.”
5 Y dijo á los de Succoth: Yo os ruego que deis á la gente que me sigue algunos bocados de pan; porque están cansados, y yo persigo á Zeba y á Zalmunna, reyes de Madián.
5 Und er sprach zu den Leuten von Sukkoth: Gebt doch dem Volk, das unter mir ist, etliche Brote; denn sie sind müde, daß ich nachjagte den Königen der Mididaniter, Sebah und Zalmuna.
6 But the chiefs of Succoth said, Are the hands of Zebah and Zalmunna even now in your hand that we are to give bread to your army?
6 Les chefs de Succoth répondirent: La main de Zébach et de Tsalmunna est-elle déjà en ton pouvoir, pour que nous donnions du pain à ton armée?
6 D'fhreagair taoisigh Shucót: “Arán a thabhairt do d'arm? An ea go bhfuil greim agaibh cheana féin ar Zeaba agus ar Zalmuná?”
6 Y los principales de Succoth respondieron: ¿Está ya la mano de Zeba y Zalmunna en tu mano, para que hayamos nosotros de dar pan á tu ejército?
6 Aber die Obersten zu Sukkoth sprachen: Sind die Fäuste Sebahs und Zalmunas schon in deinen Händen, daß wir deinem Heer sollen Brot geben?
7 Then Gideon said, Because of this, when the Lord has given Zebah and Zalmunna into my hands, I will have you stretched on a bed of thorns of the waste land and on sharp stems, and have you crushed as grain is crushed on a grain-floor.
7 Et Gédéon dit: Eh bien! lorsque l'Éternel aura livré entre mes mains Zébach et Tsalmunna, je broierai votre chair avec des épines du désert et avec des chardons.
7 Agus dúirt Gideón: “Tá go maith mar sin! Nuair a thabharfaidh an Tiarna Zeaba agus Zalmuná ar láimh dom, déanfaidh mé bhur bhfeoil a stolladh le deilgneach fásaigh agus le seacha.”
7 Y Gedeón dijo: Pues cuando Jehová hubiere entregado en mi mano á Zeba y á Zalmunna, yo trillaré vuestra carne con espinas y abrojos del desierto.
7 Gideon sprach: Wohlan, wenn der HERR Sebah und Zalmuna in meine Hand gibt, will ich euer Fleisch mit Dornen aus der Wüste und mit Hecken zerdreschen.
8 So he went up from there to Penuel and made the same request to the men of Penuel; but they gave him the same answer as the men of Succoth had given.
8 De là il monta à Penuel, et il fit aux gens de Penuel la même demande. Ils lui répondirent comme avaient répondu ceux de Succoth.
8 Chuaigh sé as sin go Panúéil agus d'iarr sé an rud céanna orthu; thug muintir Phanúéil freagra air mar a rinne muintir Shucót.
8 Y de allí subió á Penuel, y hablóles las mismas palabras. Y los de Penuel le respondieron como habían respondido los de Succoth.
8 Und er zog von da hinauf gen Pnuel und redete auch also zu ihnen. Und die Leute zu Pnuel antworteten ihm gleich wie die zu Sukkoth.
9 So he said to the men of Penuel, When I come back in peace, I will have this tower broken down.
9 Et il dit aussi aux gens de Penuel: Quand je reviendrai en paix, je renverserai cette tour.
9 Agus d'fhreagair sé muintir Phanúéil: “Nuair a fhillfidh mé faoi bhua, scriosfaidh mé an túr seo.”
9 Y él habló también á los de Penuel, diciendo: Cuando yo tornare en paz, derribaré esta torre.
9 Und er sprach auch zu den Leuten zu Pnuel: Komme ich mit Frieden wieder, so will ich diesen Turm zerbrechen.
10 Now Zebah and Zalmunna were in Karkor and their armies with them, about fifteen thousand men, those of all the army of the children of the east who were still living; for a hundred and twenty thousand of their swordsmen had been put to death.
10 Zébach et Tsalmunna étaient à Karkor et leur armée avec eux, environ quinze mille hommes, tous ceux qui étaient restés de l'armée entière des fils de l'Orient; cent vingt mille hommes tirant l'épée avaient été tués.
10 Bhí Zeaba agus Zalmuná i gCarcor lena n‑arm, timpeall cúig mhíle dhéag fear, a raibh fagtha ar fad d'arm mhuintir an Oirthir. Bhí céad agus a fiche míle de lucht iompair airm ar lár.
10 Y Zeba y Zalmunna estaban en Carcor, y con ellos su ejército de como quince mil hombres, todos los que habían quedado de todo el campo de los orientales: y los muertos habían sido ciento veinte mil hombres que sacaban espada.
10 Sebah aber und Zalmuna waren zu Karkor und ihr Heer mit ihnen, bei fünfzehntausend, alle, die übriggeblieben waren vom ganzen Heer derer aus Morgenland; denn hundertzwanzigtausend waren gefallen, die das Schwert ausziehen konnten.
11 And Gideon went up by the way used by the people living in tents on the east of Nobah and Jogbehah, and made an attack on the army when they had no thought of danger.
11 Gédéon monta par le chemin de ceux qui habitent sous les tentes, à l'orient de Nobach et de Jogbeha, et il battit l'armée qui se croyait en sûreté.
11 Ghabh Gideón suas ar feadh bealach na gcarbhán lastoir de Noba agus Iogbahá agus d'ionsaigh sé an t‑arm gan choinne.
11 Y subiendo Gedeón hacia los que habitaban en tiendas, á la parte oriental de Noba y de Jogbea, hirió el campo, porque estaba el ejército sin recelo.
11 Und Gideon zog hinauf auf der Straße derer, die in Hütten wohnten, gegen Morgen von Nobah und Jogbeha, und schlug das Heer, denn das Heer war sicher.
12 And Zebah and Zalmunna went in flight; and he went after them, and took the two kings of Midian, Zebah and Zalmunna, and put all the army to the curse.
12 Zébach et Tsalmunna prirent la fuite; Gédéon les poursuivit, il s'empara des deux rois de Madian, Zébach et Tsalmunna, et il mit en déroute toute l'armée.
12 Theith Zeaba agus Zalmuná, chuaigh sé sa tóir orthu, ghabh dhá rí Mhidián, Zeaba agus Zalmuná, agus [scrios] sé an t‑arm go léir.

12 Und Sebah und Zalmuna flohen; aber er jagte ihnen nach und fing die zwei Könige der Midianiter, Sebah und Zalmuna, und schreckte das ganze Heer.
13 Then Gideon, the son of Joash, went back from the fight:
13 Gédéon, fils de Joas, revint de la bataille par la montée de Hérès.
13 Ansin d'fhill Gideón mac Ióáis ón gcath trí Mhám Heireas.
13 Y Gedeón hijo de Joas volvió de la batalla antes que el sol subiese;
13 Da nun Gideon, der Sohn Joas, wiederkam vom Streit, ehe die Sonne heraufgekommen war,
14 And taking prisoner a young man of the people of Succoth, he got from him, in answer to his questions, a list of the chiefs of Succoth and the responsible men, seventy-seven men.
14 Il saisit d'entre les gens de Succoth un jeune homme qu'il interrogea, et qui lui mit par écrit les noms des chefs et des anciens de Succoth, soixante-dix-sept hommes.
14 Ghabh sé fear óg de mhuintir Shucót, agus cheistigh é agus scríobh seisean síos dó ainmneacha taoisigh agus seanóirí Shucót, seachtar seachtód ar fad.
14 Y tomó un mozo de los de Succoth, y preguntándole, él le dió por escrito los principales de Succoth y sus ancianos, setenta y siete varones.
14 fing er einen Knaben aus den Leuten zu Sukkoth und fragte ihn; der schrieb ihm auf die Obersten zu Sukkoth und ihre Ältesten, siebenundsiebzig Mann.
15 So he came to the men of Succoth and said, Here are Zebah and Zalmunna, on account of whom you made sport of me, saying, Are the hands of Zebah and Zalmunna even now in your hand, that we are to give bread to your army who are overcome with weariness?
15 Puis il vint auprès des gens de Succoth, et dit: Voici Zébach et Tsalmunna, au sujet desquels vous m'avez insulté, en disant: La main de Zébach et de Tsalmunna est-elle déjà en ton pouvoir, pour que nous donnions du pain à tes hommes fatigués?
15 Ansin tháinig sé go muintir Shucót agus dúirt leo: “Seo iad Zeaba agus Zalmuná a ndearna sibh achasán a chaitheamh liom ina dtaobh, á rá: ‘Arán a thabhairt do d'arm traochta! An ea go bhfuil greim agat cheana féin ar Zeaba agus Zalmuná?’ ”
15 Y entrando á los de Succoth, dijo: He aquí á Zeba y á Zalmunna, sobre los cuales me zaheristeis, diciendo: ¿Está ya la mano de Zeba y de Zalmunna en tu mano, para que demos nosotros pan á tus hombres cansados?
15 Und er kam zu den Leuten zu Sukkoth und sprach: Siehe, hier ist Sebah und Zalmuna, über welchen ihr mein spottetet und spracht: Ist denn Sebahs und Zalmunas Faust schon in deinen Händen, daß wir deinen Leuten, die müde sind, Brot geben sollen?
16 Then he took the responsible men of the town and had them crushed on a bed of thorns and sharp stems.
16 Et il prit les anciens de la ville, et châtia les gens de Succoth avec des épines du désert et avec des chardons.
16 Ansin ghabh sé seanóirí na cathrach, agus fuair sé deilgneach fásaigh agus sceacha agus [stoll] sé muintir Shucót leo.
16 Y tomó á los ancianos de la ciudad, y espinas y abrojos del desierto, y castigó con ellos á los de Succoth.
16 Und er nahm die Ältesten der Stadt und Dornen aus der Wüste und Hecken und ließ es die Leute zu Sukkoth fühlen.
17 And he had the tower of Penuel broken down and the men of the town put to death.
17 Il renversa aussi la tour de Penuel, et tua les gens de la ville.
17 Scrios sé túr Phanúéil agus chuir sé ár mhuintir na cathrach.
17 Asimismo derribó la torre de Penuel, y mató á los de la ciudad.
17 Und den Turm Pnuels zerbrach er und erwürgte die Leute der Stadt.
18 Then he said to Zebah and Zalmunna, Where are the men whom you put to death at Tabor? And they gave answer, As you are, so were they; every one of them was like a king's son.
18 Il dit à Zébach et à Tsalmunna: Comment étaient les hommes que vous avez tués au Thabor? Ils répondirent: Ils étaient comme toi, chacun avait l'air d'un fils de roi.
18 Ansin dúirt sé le Zeaba agus Zalmuná: “Cér leis ar chosúil na fir a mharaigh sibh ag Tábór?” “Cosúil leat féin,” ar siad; “ba gheall le mac rí gach duine díobh ar a iompar.”
18 Luego dijo á Zeba y á Zalmunna: ¿Qué manera de hombres tenían aquellos que matasteis en Tabor? Y ellos respondieron: Como tú, tales eran aquellos ni más ni menos, que parecían hijos de rey.
18 Und er sprach zu Sebah und Zalmuna: Wie waren die Männer, die ihr erwürgtet zu Thabor? Sie sprachen: Sie waren wie du und ein jeglicher schön wie eines Königs Kinder.
19 And he said, They were my brothers, my mother's sons: by the life of the Lord, if you had kept them safe, I would not put you to death.
19 Il dit: C'étaient mes frères, fils de ma mère. L'Éternel est vivant! si vous les eussiez laissés vivre, je ne vous tuerais pas.
19 D'fhreagair Gideón: “Ba dheartháireacha dom iad, clann mo mháthar féin; dar an Tiarna beo, dá ndéanfadh sibh anacal anama orthu, ní chuirfinn chun báis sibh.”
19 Y él dijo: Mis hermanos eran, hijos de mi madre: ¡Vive Jehová, que si los hubierais guardado en vida, yo no os mataría!
19 Er aber sprach: Es sind meine Brüder, meiner Mutter Söhne, gewesen. So wahr der HERR lebt, wo ihr sie hättet leben lassen, wollte ich euch nicht erwürgen.
20 Then he said to Jether, his oldest son, Up! Put them to death. But the boy did not take out his sword, fearing because he was still a boy.
20 Et il dit à Jéther, son premier-né: Lève-toi, tue-les! Mais le jeune homme ne tira point son épée, parce qu'il avait peur, car il était encore un enfant.
20 Ansin d'ordaigh sé do Ieitir an mac ba shine aige: “Éirigh agus cuir chun báis iad!” Ach níor tharraing an mac a chlaíomh; ní raibh sé de mhisneach aige; ní raibh ann ach ógánach.
20 Y dijo á Jether su primogénito: Levántate, y mátalos. Mas el joven no desenvainó su espada, porque tenía temor; que aun era muchacho.
20 Und er sprach zu seinem erstgeborenen Sohn, Jether: Stehe auf und erwürge sie! Aber der Knabe zog sein Schwert nicht; denn er fürchtete sich, weil er noch ein Knabe war.
21 Then Zebah and Zalmunna said, Up! Put an end to us yourself: for you have a man's strength. Then Gideon got up and put Zebah and Zalmunna to death and took the ornaments which were on their camels' necks.
21 Zébach et Tsalmunna dirent: Lève-toi toi-même, et tue-nous! car tel est l'homme, telle est sa force. Et Gédéon se leva, et tua Zébach et Tsalmunna. Il prit ensuite les croissants qui étaient aux cous de leurs chameaux.
21 Ansin dúirt Zeaba agus Zalmuná: “Éirigh féin agus maraigh sinn; óir tá neart fir de réir mar atá an fear sin.” Ansin d'éirigh Gideón féin agus mharaigh Zeaba agus Zalmuná, agus ghearr anuas na stuanna a bhí ar mhuiníl a gcamall. Bás Ghideón
21 Entonces dijo Zeba y Zalmunna: Levántate tú, y mátanos; porque como es el varón, tal es su valentía. Y Gedeón se levantó, y mató á Zeba y á Zalmunna; y tomó los adornos de lunetas que sus camellos traían al cuello.
21 Sebah aber und Zalmuna sprachen: Stehe du auf und mache dich an uns; denn darnach der Mann ist, ist auch seine Kraft. Also stand Gideon auf und erwürgte Sebah und Zalmuna und nahm die Spangen, die an ihrer Kamele Hälsen waren.
22 Then the men of Israel said to Gideon, Be our ruler, you and your son and your son's son after him; for you have been our saviour from the hands of Midian.
22 Les hommes d'Israël dirent à Gédéon: Domine sur nous, et toi, et ton fils, et le fils de ton fils, car tu nous as délivrés de la main de Madian.
22 Dúirt muintir Iosrael le Gideón ansin: “Bí i gceannas orainn - thú féin agus do chlann mhac, agus mac do mhic chomh maith, mar d'fhuascail tú sinn as láimh Mhidián.”
22 Y los Israelitas dijeron á Gedeón: Sé nuestro señor, tú, y tu hijo, y tu nieto; pues que nos has librado de mano de Madián.
22 Da sprachen zu Gideon etliche in Israel: Sei Herr über uns, du und dein Sohn und deines Sohnes Sohn, weil du uns von der Midianiter Hand erlöst hast.
23 But Gideon said to them, I will not be a ruler over you, and my son will not be a ruler over you: it is the Lord who will be ruler over you.
23 Gédéon leur dit: Je ne dominerai point sur vous, et mes fils ne domineront point sur vous; c'est l'Éternel qui dominera sur vous.
23 Dúirt Gideón leo: “Ní bheidh mise i gceannas oraibh, ná ní bheidh mo mhac i gceannas oraibh; beidh an Tiarna i gceannas oraibh.”
23 Mas Gedeón respondió: No seré señor sobre vosotros, ni mi hijo os señoreará: Jehová será vuestro Señor.
23 Aber Gideon sprach zu ihnen: Ich will nicht Herr sein über euch, und auch mein Sohn soll nicht Herr über euch sein, sondern der HERR soll Herr über euch sein.
24 Then Gideon said to them, I have a request to make to you; let every man give me the ear-rings he has taken. (For they had gold ear-rings, because they were Ishmaelites.)
24 Gédéon leur dit: J'ai une demande à vous faire: donnez-moi chacun les anneaux que vous avez eus pour butin. -Les ennemis avaient des anneaux d'or, car ils étaient Ismaélites. -
24 Dúirt Gideón leo: “Tá achainí agam oraibh; tugadh gach duine agaibh na fáinní as a chreach dom” - bhí fáinní óir á gcaitheamh ag an dream a cloíodh mar ba Ísméiligh iad.
24 Y díjoles Gedeón: Deseo haceros una petición, que cada uno me dé los zarcillos de su despojo. (Porque traían zarcillos de oro, que eran Ismaelitas.)
24 Gideon aber sprach zu Ihnen: Eins begehre ich von euch: ein jeglicher gebe mir die Stirnbänder, die er geraubt hat. (Denn weil es Ismaeliter waren, hatten sie goldene Stirnbänder.)
25 And they gave answer, We will gladly give them. So they put down a robe, every man dropping into it the ear-rings he had taken.
25 Ils dirent: Nous les donnerons volontiers. Et ils étendirent un manteau, sur lequel chacun jeta les anneaux de son butin.
25 D'fhreagair siad: “Tabharfaimid agus fáilte.” Leath sé brat ansin agus chaith gach duine díobh na fáinní as a chreach ar an mbrat.
25 Y ellos respondieron: De buena gana los daremos. Y tendiendo una ropa de vestir, echó allí cada uno los zarcillos de su despojo.
25 Sie sprachen: Die wollen wir geben; und breiteten ein Kleid aus, und ein jeglicher warf die Stirnbänder darauf, die er geraubt hatte.
26 The weight of the gold ear-rings which he got from them was one thousand, seven hundred shekels of gold; in addition to the moon-ornaments and jewels and the purple robes which were on the kings of Midian, and the chains on their camels' necks.
26 Le poids des anneaux d'or que demanda Gédéon fut de mille sept cents sicles d'or, sans les croissants, les pendants d'oreilles, et les vêtements de pourpre que portaient les rois de Madian, et sans les colliers qui étaient aux cous de leurs chameaux.
26 Ba é meáchan na bhfainní óir a d'éiligh sé ná míle seacht gcéad seicil óir, seachas na toirc, agus na siogairlíní agus na héidí corcra a chaitheadh ríthe Mhidián, agus na stuanna a bhíodh timpeall ar mhuiníl a gcuid camall.
26 Y fué el peso de los zarcillos de oro que él pidió, mil y setecientos siclos de oro; sin las planchas, y joyeles, y vestidos de púrpura, que traían los reyes de Madián, y sin los collares que traían sus camellos al cuello.
26 Und die goldenen Stirnbänder, die er forderte, machten am Gewicht tausendsiebenhundert Lot Gold, ohne die Spangen und Ketten und Purpurkleider, die der Midianiter Könige tragen, und ohne die Halsbänder ihrer Kamele.
27 And Gideon made an ephod from them and put it up in his town Ophrah; and all Israel went after it there and were false to the Lord; and it became a cause of sin to Gideon and his house.
27 Gédéon en fit un éphod, et il le plaça dans sa ville, à Ophra, où il devint l'objet des prostitutions de tout Israël; et il fut un piège pour Gédéon et pour sa maison.

27 Y Gedeón hizo de ellos un ephod, el cual hizo guardar en su ciudad de Ophra: y todo Israel fornicó tras de ese ephod en aquel lugar; y fué por tropiezo á Gedeón y á su casa.
27 Und Gideon machte einen Leibrock daraus und setzte ihn in seine Stadt zu Ophra. Und ganz Israel trieb damit Abgötterei daselbst, und er geriet Gideon und seinem Hause zum Fall.
28 So Midian was broken before the children of Israel and the Midianites never got back their strength. And the land had peace for forty years, in the days of Gideon.
28 Madian fut humilié devant les enfants d'Israël, et il ne leva plus la tête. Et le pays fut en repos pendant quarante ans, durant la vie de Gédéon.
28 Fuair Iosrael an lámh in uachtar ar Mhidián ar an gcuma sin, agus níor ardaíodar a gceann arís, agus bhí suaimhneas ag an tír ar feadh daichead bliain, fad a mhair Gideón.
28 Así fué humillado Madián delante de los hijos de Israel, y nunca más levantaron su cabeza. Y reposó la tierra cuarenta años en los días de Gedeón.
28 Also wurden die Midianiter gedemütigt vor den Kindern Israel und hoben ihren Kopf nicht mehr empor. Und das Land war still vierzig Jahre, solange Gideon lebte.
29 And Jerubbaal, the son of Joash, went back to his house and was living there.

31 And the servant-wife he had in Shechem had a son by him, to whom he gave the name Abimelech.

32 And Gideon, the son of Joash, came to his end when he was very old, and his body was put in the resting-place of Joash his father, in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.
32 Gédéon, fils de Joas, mourut après une heureuse vieillesse; et il fut enterré dans le sépulcre de Joas, son père, à Ophra, qui appartenait à la famille d'Abiézer.

32 Und Gideon, der Sohn des Joas, starb in gutem Alter und ward begraben in seines Vaters Joas Grab zu Ophra, der Stadt der Abiesriter.
33 And after the death of Gideon, the children of Israel again went after the gods of Canaan and were false to the Lord, and made Baal-berith their god.

34 And the children of Israel did not keep in their minds the Lord their God, who had been their saviour from all their haters on every side;

35 And they were not kind to the house of Jerubbaal, that is, Gideon, in reward for all the good he had done to Israel.
35 Et ils n'eurent point d'attachement pour la maison de Jerubbaal, de Gédéon, après tout le bien qu'il avait fait à Israël.
