1 Now after the death of Joshua, the children of Israel made request to the Lord, saying, Who is to go up first to make war for us against the Canaanites?
1 Après la mort de Josué, les enfants d'Israël consultèrent l'Éternel, en disant: Qui de nous montera le premier contre les Cananéens, pour les attaquer?

1 Y Acontecio después de la muerte de Josué, que los hijos de Israel consultaron á Jehová, diciendo: ¿Quién subirá por nosotros el primero á pelear contra los Cananeos?
1 Nach dem Tod Josuas fragten die Kinder Israel den HERRN und sprachen: Wer soll unter uns zuerst hinaufziehen, Krieg zu führen wider die Kanaaniter?
2 And the Lord said, Judah is to go up: see, I have given the land into his hands.
2 L'Éternel répondit: Juda montera, voici, j'ai livré le pays entre ses mains.
2 D'fhreagair an Tiarna: “Bíodh Iúdá ar an gcéad duine a rachaidh suas; féach tá an tír tugtha ar láimh agam dó.”
2 Y Jehová respondió: Judá subirá; he aquí que yo he entregado la tierra en sus manos.
2 Der HERR sprach: Juda soll hinaufziehen. Siehe, ich habe das Land in seine Hand gegeben.
3 Then Judah said to Simeon his brother, Come up with me into my heritage, so that we may make war against the Canaanites; and I will then go with you into your heritage. So Simeon went with him.
3 Et Juda dit à Siméon, son frère: Monte avec moi dans le pays qui m'est échu par le sort, et nous combattrons les Cananéens; j'irai aussi avec toi dans celui qui t'est tombé en partage. Et Siméon alla avec lui.
3 Ansin dúirt Iúdá lena dheartháir Simeon: “Téanam liomsa isteach sa dúiche a dáileadh orm, d'fhonn go gcuirfimís cath ar na Canánaigh; rachaidh mise ansin in éineacht leatsa isteach sa dúiche a dáileadh ortsa.” Mhairseáil Simeon in éineacht leis dá bhrí sin.
3 Y Judá dijo á Simeón su hermano: Sube conmigo á mi suerte, y peleemos contra el Cananeo, y yo también iré contigo á tu suerte. Y Simeón fué con él.
3 Da sprach Juda zu seinem Bruder Simeon: Zieh mit mir hinauf in mein Los und laß uns wider die Kanaaniter streiten, so will ich wieder mit dir ziehen in dein Los. Also zog Simeon mit ihm.
4 And Judah went up; and the Lord gave the Canaanites and the Perizzites into their hands; and they overcame ten thousand of them in Bezek.
4 Juda monta, et l'Éternel livra entre leurs mains les Cananéens et les Phéréziens; ils battirent dix mille hommes à Bézek.
4 Ghabh Iúdá suas mar sin agus thug an Tiarna na Canánaigh agus na Pirizigh ar láimh dóibh; chuireadar an ruaig ar dheich míle fear ag Beizic.
4 Y subió Judá, y Jehová entregó en sus manos al Cananeo y al Pherezeo; y de ellos hirieron en Bezec diez mil hombres.
4 Da nun Juda hinaufzog, gab der HERR die Kanaaniter und Pheresiter in ihre Hände, und sie schlugen zu Besek zehntausend Mann.
5 And they came across Adoni-zedek, and made war on him; and they overcame the Canaanites and the Perizzites.
5 Ils trouvèrent Adoni Bézek à Bézek; ils l'attaquèrent, et ils battirent les Cananéens et les Phéréziens.
5 Tharla siad ar Adónaí Beizic i mBeizic; chuireadar cath air agus bhriseadar ar na Canánaigh agus ar na Pirizigh.

6 But Adoni-zedek went in flight; and they went after him and overtook him, and had his thumbs and his great toes cut off.
6 Adoni Bézek prit la fuite; mais ils le poursuivirent et le saisirent, et ils lui coupèrent les pouces des mains et des pieds.
6 Theith Adónaí Beizic, ach chuadar sa tóir air, rugadar air agus bhaineadar ordóga a lámh agus a chos de.
6 Mas Adoni-bezec huyó; y siguiéronle, y prendiéronle, y cortáronle los pulgares de las manos y de los pies.
6 Aber Adoni-Besek floh, und sie jagten ihm nach; und da sie ihn ergriffen, hieben sie ihm die Daumen ab an seinen Händen und Füßen.
7 And Adoni-zedek said, Seventy kings, whose thumbs and great toes had been cut off, got broken meat under my table: as I have done, so has God done to me in full. And they took him to Jerusalem, and he came to his end there.
7 Adoni Bézek dit: Soixante-dix rois, ayant les pouces des mains et des pieds coupés, ramassaient sous ma table; Dieu me rend ce que j'ai fait. On l'emmena à Jérusalem, et il y mourut.
7 Ansin dúirt Adónaí Beizic: “Deichniúr rí agus trí fichid, agus ordóga lámh agus a gcos gearrtha díobh, bhídís faoi mo bhord ag bailiú bruscair an bhia; chúitigh Dia liomsa de réir mar a rinne mé le daoine eile.” Tugadh go Iarúsailéim é, agus fuair sé bás ansiúd.
7 Entonces dijo Adoni-bezec: Setenta reyes, cortados los pulgares de sus manos y de sus pies, cogían las migajas debajo de mi mesa: como yo hice, así me ha pagado Dios. Y metiéronle en Jerusalem, donde murió.
7 Da sprach Adoni-Besek: Siebzig Könige mit abgehauenen Daumen ihrer Hände und Füße lasen auf unter meinem Tisch. Wie ich nun getan habe, so hat mir Gott wieder vergolten. Und man brachte ihn gen Jerusalem; daselbst starb er.
8 Then the children of Judah made an attack on Jerusalem, and took it, burning down the town after they had put its people to the sword without mercy.
8 Les fils de Juda attaquèrent Jérusalem et la prirent, ils la frappèrent du tranchant de l'épée et mirent le feu à la ville.
8 [Thug clann Iúdá faoi Iarúsailéim agus ghabhadar é. Chuir siad muintir na cathrach chun báis agus an chathair trí thine.]
8 Y habían combatido los hijos de Judá á Jerusalem, y la habían tomado, y metido á cuchillo, y puesto á fuego la ciudad.
8 Aber die Kinder Juda stritten wider Jerusalem und gewannen es und schlugen es mit der Schärfe des Schwerts und zündeten die Stadt an.
9 After that the children of Judah went down to make war on the Canaanites living in the hill-country and in the south and in the lowlands.
9 Les fils de Juda descendirent ensuite, pour combattre les Cananéens qui habitaient la montagne, la contrée du midi et la plaine.
9 Ina dhiaidh sin ghabh clann Iúdá síos chun catha a chur ar na Canánaigh a bhí ag cur fúthu sna hardáin, sa Neigib agus sna hísleáin.
9 Después los hijos de Judá descendieron para pelear contra el Cananeo que habitaba en las montañas, y al mediodía, y en los llanos.
9 Darnach zogen die Kinder Juda herab, zu streiten wider die Kanaaniter, die auf dem Gebirge und gegen Mittag und in den Gründen wohnten.
10 And Caleb went against the Canaanites of Hebron: (now in earlier times Hebron was named Kiriath-arba:) and he put Sheshai and Ahiman and Talmai to the sword.
10 Juda marcha contre les Cananéens qui habitaient à Hébron, appelée autrefois Kirjath Arba; et il battit Schéschaï, Ahiman et Talmaï.
10 Agus d'ionsaigh Iúdá na Canánaigh a bhí ag cur fúthu i Heabrón - Ciriat Arba a ba ainm do Heabrón anallód - agus chloíodar Séisí agus Aichímeán agus Talmai.

10 Und Juda zog hin wider die Kanaaniter, die zu Hebron wohnten (Hebron aber hieß vorzeiten Kirjath-Arba), und sie schlugen den Sesai und Ahiman und Thalmai.
11 And from there he went up against the people of Debir. (Now the name of Debir in earlier times was Kiriath-sepher.)
11 De là il marcha contre les habitants de Debir: Debir s'appelait autrefois Kirjath Sépher.
11 Ghabhadar as sin ar aghaidh i gcoinne mhuintir Dheibír - Ciriat Seifir a thugtaí ar Dheibír roimhe sin.
11 Y de allí fué á los que habitaban en Debir, que antes se llamaba Chîriath-sepher.
11 Und zogen von da wider die Einwohner zu Debir (Debir aber hieß vorzeiten Kirjath-Sepher).
12 And Caleb said, I will give Achsah, my daughter, as wife to the man who overcomes Kiriath-sepher and takes it.
12 Caleb dit: Je donnerai ma fille Acsa pour femme à celui qui battra Kirjath Sépher et qui la prendra.
12 Dúirt Cálaeb: “An té a dhéanfaidh Ciriat Seifir a ionsaí agus a ghabháil, tabharfaidh mé Acsá m'iníon mar bhean dó.”
12 Y dijo Caleb: El que hiriere á Chîriath-sepher, y la tomare, yo le daré á Axa mi hija por mujer.

13 And Othniel, the son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother, took it; so he gave him his daughter Achsah for his wife.
13 Othniel, fils de Kenaz, frère cadet de Caleb, s'en empara; et Caleb lui donna pour femme sa fille Acsa.
13 Agus ba é Oitníéil mac Canoz, deartháir a ba óige ná Iósua, a ghabh é agus thug sé dó Acsá a iníon mar bhean.
13 Y tomóla Othoniel hijo de Cenez, hermano menor de Caleb: y él le dió á Axa su hija por mujer.

14 Now when she came to him, he put into her mind the idea of requesting a field from her father: and she got down from her ass; and Caleb said to her, What is it?
14 Lorsqu'elle fut entrée chez Othniel, elle le sollicita de demander à son père un champ. Elle descendit de dessus son âne; et Caleb lui dit: Qu'as-tu?

14 Y cuando la llevaban, persuadióle que pidiese á su padre un campo. Y ella se apeó del asno, y Caleb le dijo: ¿Qué tienes?
14 Und es begab sich, da sie einzog, beredete sie ihn, einen Acker zu fordern von ihrem Vater. Und sie stieg vom Esel; da sprach Kaleb zu ihr: Was ist dir?
15 And she said to him, Give me a blessing; because you have put me in a dry south-land, now give me springs of water. So Caleb gave her the higher spring and the lower spring.
15 Elle lui répondit: Fais-moi un présent, car tu m'as donné une terre du midi; donne-moi aussi des sources d'eau. Et Caleb lui donna les sources supérieures et les sources inférieures.

16 Now Hobab the Kenite, Moses' father-in-law, had come up out of the town of palm-trees, with the children of Judah, into the waste land of Arad; and he went and was living among the Amalekites;
16 Les fils du Kénien, beau-père de Moïse, montèrent de la ville des palmiers, avec les fils de Juda, dans le désert de Juda au midi d'Arad, et ils allèrent s'établir parmi le peuple.

16 Y los hijos de Cineo, suegro de Moisés, subieron de la ciudad de las palmas con los hijos de Judá al desierto de Judá, que está al mediodía de Arad: y fueron y habitaron con el pueblo.
16 Und die Kinder des Keniters, Mose's Schwagers, zogen herauf aus der Palmenstadt mit den Kindern Juda in die Wüste Juda, die da liegt gegen Mittag der Stadt Arad, und gingen hin und wohnten unter dem Volk.
17 And Judah went with Simeon, his brother, and overcame the Canaanites living in Zephath, and put it under the curse; and he gave the town the name of Hormah.
17 Juda se mit en marche avec Siméon, son frère, et ils battirent les Cananéens qui habitaient à Tsephath; ils dévouèrent la ville par interdit, et on l'appela Horma.
17 Chuir Iúdá chun bealaigh ansin lena dheartháir Simeon agus bhriseadar ar na Canánaigh a bhí ag cur fúthu i Zafat agus chuireadar an áit faoin mbang; uime sin a tugadh Hormá ar an gcathair.
17 Y fué Judá á su hermano Simeón, é hirieron al Cananeo que habitaba en Sephath, y asoláronla: y pusieron por nombre á la ciudad, Horma.
17 Und Juda zog hin mit seinem Bruder Simeon, und schlugen die Kanaaniter zu Zephath und verbannten sie und nannten die Stadt Horma.
18 Then Judah took Gaza and its limit, and Ashkelon and its limit, and Ekron and its limit.
18 Juda s'empara encore de Gaza et de son territoire, d'Askalon et de son territoire, et d'Ékron et de son territoire.
18 [Níor] ghabh Iúdá Gazá lena thailte, ná Aiscileon lena thailte, ná Eacrón lena thailte.

19 And the Lord was with Judah; and he took the hill-country for his heritage; but he was unable to make the people of the valley go out, for they had war-carriages of iron.

19 Y fué Jehová con Judá, y echó á los de las montañas; mas no pudo echar á los que habitaban en los llanos, los cuales tenían carros herrados.
19 Und der HERR war mit Juda, daß er das Gebirge einnahm; denn er konnte die Einwohner im Grunde nicht vertreiben, darum daß sie eiserne Wagen hatten.
20 And they gave Hebron to Caleb, as Moses had said; and he took the land of the three sons of Anak, driving them out from there.
20 On donna Hébron à Caleb, comme l'avait dit Moïse; et il en chassa les trois fils d'Anak.
20 Tugadh Heabrón do Chálaeb de réir mar a dúirt Maois mar gur dhíbir sé triúr mac Anác as.

21 And the children of Judah did not make the Jebusites who were living in Jerusalem go out; the Jebusites are still living with the children of Benjamin in Jerusalem.
21 Les fils de Benjamin ne chassèrent point les Jébusiens qui habitaient à Jérusalem; et les Jébusiens ont habité jusqu'à ce jour dans Jérusalem avec les fils de Benjamin.
21 Ach theip ar chlann Bhiniáimin na Iabúsaigh a bhí ina gcónaí i Iarúsailéim a dhíbirt; tá na Iabúsaigh mar sin ina gcónaí le clann Bhiniáimin go dtí an lá inniu in Iarúsailéim.
21 Mas al Jebuseo que habitaba en Jerusalem, no echaron los hijos de Benjamín, y así el Jebuseo habitó con los hijos de Benjamín en Jerusalem hasta hoy.
21 Aber die Kinder Benjamin vertrieben die Jebusiter nicht, die zu Jerusalem wohnten; sondern die Jebusiter wohnten bei den Kindern Benjamin zu Jerusalem bis auf diesen Tag.
22 And the family of Joseph went up against Beth-el, and the Lord was with them.
22 La maison de Joseph monta aussi contre Béthel, et l'Éternel fut avec eux.
22 Ghabh teaghlach Iósaef suas mar an gcéanna i gcoinne Bhéitéil, agus bhí an Tiarna leo.
22 También los de la casa de José subieron á Beth-el; y fué Jehová con ellos.
22 Desgleichen zogen auch die Kinder Joseph hinauf gen Beth-El, und der HERR war mit ihnen.
23 So they sent men to make a search round Beth-el. (Now the name of the town in earlier times was Luz.)
23 La maison de Joseph fit explorer Béthel, qui s'appelait autrefois Luz.
23 Rinne teaghlach Iósaef Béitéil a thaiscéaladh - Lúz a thugtaí ar an gcathair roimhe sin.
23 Y los de la casa de José pusieron espías en Beth-el, la cual ciudad antes se llamaba Luz.
23 Und das Haus Josephs ließ auskundschaften Beth-El, das vorzeiten Lus hieß.
24 And the watchers saw a man coming out of the town, and said to him, If you will make clear to us the way into the town, we will be kind to you.
24 Les gardes virent un homme qui sortait de la ville, et ils lui dirent: Montre-nous par où nous pourrons entrer dans la ville, et nous te ferons grâce.
24 Chonaic an lucht taiscéalta fear ag teacht amach ón gcathair. “Má thaispeánann tú an tslí isteach sa chathair dúinn,” ar siad leis, “déanfaimid anacal anama ort.”
24 Y los que espiaban vieron un hombre que salía de la ciudad, y dijéronle: Muéstranos ahora la entrada de la ciudad, y haremos contigo misericordia.
24 Und die Wächter sahen einen Mann aus der Stadt gehen und sprachen zu ihm: Weise uns, wo wir in die Stadt kommen, so wollen wir Barmherzigkeit an dir tun.
25 So he made clear to them the way into the town, and they put it to the sword; but they let the man and all his family get away safe.
25 Il leur montra par où ils pourraient entrer dans la ville. Et ils frappèrent la ville du tranchant de l'épée; mais ils laissèrent aller cet homme et toute sa famille.
25 Agus thaispeáin sé an tslí isteach sa chathair dóibh agus d'imríodar faobhar claímh ar mhuintir na cathrach, ach ligeadar don fhear agus dá chlann go léir imeacht.
25 Y él les mostró la entrada á la ciudad, é hiriéronla á filo de espada; mas dejaron á aquel hombre con toda su familia.
25 Und da er ihnen zeigte, wo sie in die Stadt kämen, schlugen sie die Stadt mit der Schärfe des Schwerts; aber den Mann und all sein Geschlecht ließen sie gehen.
26 And he went into the land of the Hittites, building a town there and naming it Luz: which is its name to this day.
26 Cet homme se rendit dans le pays des Héthiens; il bâtit une ville, et lui donna le nom de Luz, nom qu'elle a porté jusqu'à ce jour.

26 Y fuese el hombre á la tierra de los Hetheos, y edificó una ciudad, á la cual llamó Luz: y este es su nombre hasta hoy.
26 Da zog derselbe Mann ins Land der Hethiter und baute eine Stadt und hieß sie Lus; die heißt noch heutigestages also.
27 And Manasseh did not take away the land of the people of Beth-shean and its daughter-towns, or of Taanach and its daughter-towns, or of the people of Dor and its daughter-towns, or of the people of Ibleam and its daughter-towns, or of the people of Megiddo and its daughter-towns, driving them out; but the Canaanites would go on living in that land.
27 Manassé ne chassa point les habitants de Beth Schean et des villes de son ressort, de Thaanac et des villes de son ressort, de Dor et des villes de son ressort, de Jibleam et des villes de son ressort, de Meguiddo et des villes de son ressort; et les Cananéens voulurent rester dans ce pays.

27 Tampoco Manasés echó á los de Beth-sean, ni á los de sus aldeas, ni á los de Taanach y sus aldeas, ni á los de Dor y sus aldeas, ni á los habitantes de Ibleam y sus aldeas, ni á los que habitaban en Megiddo y en sus aldeas: mas el Cananeo quiso habitar en esta tierra.
27 Und Manasse vertrieb nicht Beth-Sean mit den zugehörigen Orten noch Thaanach mit den zugehörigen Orten noch die Einwohner zu Dor mit den zugehörigen Orten noch die Einwohner zu Jibleam mit den zugehörigen Orten noch die Einwohner zu Megiddo mit den zugehörigen Orten; und die Kanaaniter blieben wohnen im Land.
28 And whenever Israel became strong, they put the Canaanites to forced work, without driving them out completely.
28 Lorsqu'Israël fut assez fort, il assujettit les Cananéens à un tribut, mais il ne les chassa point.
28 Nuair a chuaigh na hIosraelaigh i dtreise, chuireadar cuing na daoirse ar na Canánaigh, ach níor chuireadar an ruaig orthu.
28 Empero cuando Israel tomó fuerzas hizo al Cananeo tributario, mas no lo echó.
28 Da aber Israel mächtig war, machte es die Kanaaniter zinsbar und vertrieb sie nicht.
29 And Ephraim did not make the Canaanites who were living in Gezer go out; but the Canaanites went on living in Gezer among them.
29 Éphraïm ne chassa point les Cananéens qui habitaient à Guézer, et les Cananéens habitèrent au milieu d'Éphraïm à Guézer.
29 Ná níor dhíbir Eafráim na Canánaigh a bhí ag cur fúthu i nGeizir, ach mhair na Canánaigh i nGeizir ina measc.
29 Tampoco Ephraim echó al Cananeo que habitaba en Gezer; antes habitó el Cananeo en medio de ellos en Gezer.
29 Desgleichen vertrieb auch Ephraim die Kanaaniter nicht, die zu Geser wohnten, sondern die Kanaaniter wohnten unter ihnen zu Geser.
30 Zebulun did not make the people of Kitron or the people of Nahalol go out; but the Canaanites went on living among them and were put to forced work.
30 Zabulon ne chassa point les habitants de Kitron, ni les habitants de Nahalol; et les Cananéens habitèrent au milieu de Zabulon, mais ils furent assujettis à un tribut.

30 Tampoco Zabulón echó á los que habitaban en Chîtron y á los que habitaban en Naalol; mas el Cananeo habitó en medio de él, y le fueron tributarios.
30 Sebulon vertrieb auch nicht die Einwohner von Kitron und Nahalol; sondern die Kanaaniter wohnten unter ihnen und waren zinsbar.
31 And Asher did not take the land of the people of Acco, or Zidon, or Ahlab, or Achzib, or Helbah, or Aphik, or Rehob, driving them out;

31 Asser vertrieb die Einwohner zu Akko nicht noch die Einwohner zu Sidon, zu Ahelab, zu Achsib, zu Helba, zu Aphik und zu Rehob;

33 Tampoco Nephtalí echó á los que habitaban en Beth-semes, y á los que habitaban en Beth-anath, sino que moró entre los Cananeos que habitaban en la tierra; mas fuéronle tributarios los moradores de Beth-semes, y los moradores de Beth-anath.
