1 (Now Jericho was all shut up because of the children of Israel: there was no going out or coming in.)
1 Jéricho était fermée et barricadée devant les enfants d'Israël. Personne ne sortait, et personne n'entrait.
1 Bhí Ireachó daingnithe le barr cúraim in aghaidh chlann Iosrael; níor ghabh aon duine amach, níor ghabh aon duine isteach.
1 Empero Jericó estaba cerrada, bien cerrada, á causa de los hijos de Israel: nadie entraba, ni salía.
1 Jericho aber war verschlossen und verwahrt vor den Kindern Israel, daß niemand aus oder ein kommen konnte,
2 And the Lord said to Joshua, See, I have given into your hands Jericho with its king and all its men of war.
2 L'Éternel dit à Josué: Vois, je livre entre tes mains Jéricho et son roi, ses vaillants soldats.
2 Ansin dúirt an Tiarna le Iósua: “Anois tá Ireachó agus a rí agus a ghaiscígh mhóra á dtabhairt ar láimh agam duit.
2 Mas Jehová dijo á Josué: Mira, yo he entregado en tu mano á Jericó y á su rey, con sus varones de guerra.
2 Aber der HERR sprach zu Josua: Siehe da, ich habe Jericho samt seinem König und seinen Kriegsleuten in deine Hände gegeben.
3 Now let all your fighting-men make a circle round the town, going all round it once. Do this for six days.
3 Faites le tour de la ville, vous tous les hommes de guerre, faites une fois le tour de la ville. Tu feras ainsi pendant six jours.
3 Téigí timpeall na cathrach, a laochra gaile, gabhaigí timpeall na cathrach aon uair amháin. Déan amhlaidh ar feadh sé lá.
3 Cercaréis pues la ciudad todos los hombres de guerra, yendo alrededor de la ciudad una vez: y esto haréis seis días.
3 Laß alle Kriegsmänner rings um die Stadt her gehen einmal, und tue sechs Tage also.
4 And let seven priests go before the ark with seven loud-sounding horns in their hands: on the seventh day you are to go round the town seven times, the priests blowing their horns.
4 Sept sacrificateurs porteront devant l'arche sept trompettes retentissantes; le septième jour, vous ferez sept fois le tour de la ville; et les sacrificateurs sonneront des trompettes.
4 Iompróidh mórsheisear sagart seacht dtrumpaí d'adharca reithe os comhair na háirce; ar an seachtú lá máirseálfaidh sibh timpeall na cathrach seacht n‑uaire agus séidfidh na sagairt na trumpaí.
4 Y siete sacerdotes llevarán siete bocinas de cuernos de carneros delante del arca; y al séptimo día daréis siete vueltas á la ciudad, y los sacerdotes tocarán las bocinas.
4 Und laß sieben Priester sieben Posaunen des Halljahrs tragen vor der Lade her, und am siebenten Tage geht siebenmal um die Stadt, und laß die Priester die Posaunen blasen.
5 And at the sound of a long note on the horns, let all the people give a loud cry; and the wall of the town will come down flat, and all the people are to go straight forward.
5 Quand ils sonneront de la corne retentissante, quand vous entendrez le son de la trompette, tout le peuple poussera de grands cris. Alors la muraille de la ville s'écroulera, et le peuple montera, chacun devant soi.
5 Nuair a sheinnfidh siad dord fada ar an adharc reithe, a luaithe a chloisfidh sibh glór an trumpa, ní foláir don phobal go léir gáir thréan chatha a chur astu, agus titfidh balla na cathrach ar lár gan mhoill; ansin ionsóidh an pobal an chathair gach duine ag sá roimhe.”
5 Y cuando tocaren prolongadamente el cuerno de carnero, así que oyereis el sonido de la bocina, todo el pueblo gritará á gran voz, y el muro de la ciudad caerá debajo de sí: entonces el pueblo subirá cada uno en derecho de sí.
5 Und wenn man das Halljahrshorn bläst und es lange tönt, daß ihr die Posaune hört, so soll das ganze Volk ein großes Feldgeschrei machen, so werden der Stadt Mauern umfallen, und das Volk soll hineinsteigen, ein jeglicher stracks vor sich.
6 Then Joshua, the son of Nun, sent for the priests and said to them, Take up the ark of the agreement, and let seven priests take seven horns in their hands and go before the ark of the Lord.
6 Josué, fils de Nun, appela les sacrificateurs, et leur dit: Portez l'arche de l'alliance, et que sept sacrificateurs portent sept trompettes retentissantes devant l'arche de l'Éternel.
6 Ghlaoigh Iósua mac Nún ar na sagairt agus dúirt leo: “Tógaigí áirc an chonartha agus iompraíodh seachtar sagart seacht dtrumpa d'adharca reithe roimh áirc an Tiarna.”
6 Y llamando Josué hijo de Nun á los sacerdotes, les dijo: Llevad el arca del pacto, y siete sacerdotes lleven bocinas de cuernos de carneros delante del arca de Jehová.
6 Da rief Josua, der Sohn Nuns, die Priester und sprach zu ihnen: Tragt die Lade des Bundes, und sieben Priester laßt sieben Halljahrsposaunen tragen vor der Lade des HERRN.
7 And he said to the people, Go forward, circling the town, and let the armed men go before the ark of the Lord.
7 Et il dit au peuple: Marchez, faites le tour de la ville, et que les hommes armés passent devant l'arche de l'Éternel.
7 Dúirt sé leis an bpobal: “Gluaisigí romhaibh agus timpeallaigí an chathair agus téadh an t‑urgharda roimh áirc an Tiarna.”
7 Y dijo al pueblo: Pasad, y rodead la ciudad; y los que están armados pasarán delante del arca de Jehová.
7 Zieht hin und geht um die Stadt; wer gerüstet ist, gehe vor der Lade des HERRN her.
8 So after Joshua had said this to the people, the seven priests with their seven horns went forward before the Lord, blowing on their horns: and the ark of the Lord's agreement went after them.
8 Lorsque Josué eut parlé au peuple, les sept sacrificateurs qui portaient devant l'Éternel les sept trompettes retentissantes se mirent en marche et sonnèrent des trompettes. L'arche de l'alliance de l'Éternel allait derrière eux.
8 Rinneadh gach rud mar a d'ordaigh Iósua don phobal: ghabh an seachtar sagart ar aghaidh ag iompar na seacht dtrumpaí adhairce reithe roimh an Tiarna, agus shéideadar a dtrumpaí; ina ndiaidh tháinig áirc chonradh an Tiarna.
8 Y así que Josué hubo hablado al pueblo, los siete sacerdotes, llevando las siete bocinas de cuernos de carneros, pasaron delante del arca de Jehová, y tocaron las bocinas: y el arca del pacto de Jehová los seguía.
8 Da Josua solches dem Volk gesagt hatte, trugen die sieben Priester sieben Halljahrsposaunen vor der Lade des HERRN her und gingen und bliesen die Posaunen; und die Lade des Bundes des HERRN folgt ihnen nach.
9 And the armed men went before the priests who were blowing the horns, and the mass of the people went after the ark, blowing their horns.
9 Les hommes armés marchaient devant les sacrificateurs qui sonnaient des trompettes, et l'arrière-garde suivait l'arche; pendant la marche, on sonnait des trompettes.
9 Ghabh an t‑urgharda ar aghaidh roimh na sagairt leis na trumpaí agus tháinig an cúlgharda ar chúl na háirce; bhí na trumpaí dá séideadh gan stad.
9 Y los armados iban delante de los sacerdotes que tocaban las bocinas, y la gente reunida iba detrás del arca, andando y tocando bocinas.
9 Und wer gerüstet war, ging vor den Priestern her, die die Posaunen bliesen; und der Haufe folgte der Lade nach, und man blies Posaunen.
10 And to the people Joshua gave an order, saying, You will give no cry, and make no sound, and let no word go out of your mouth till the day when I say, Give a loud cry; then give a loud cry.
10 Josué avait donné cet ordre au peuple: Vous ne crierez point, vous ne ferez point entendre votre voix, et il ne sortira pas un mot de votre bouche jusqu'au jour où je vous dirai: Poussez des cris! Alors vous pousserez des cris.
10 Thug Iósua an t‑ordú seo leanas don phobal: “Ná déanaigí gáir agus ná bíodh gíocs asaibh ná focal as bhur mbéal go dtí an lá a déarfaidh mé libh: ‘Tógaigí an gháir chatha.’ Ansin tugaigí gáir.”
10 Y Josué mandó al pueblo, diciendo: Vosotros no daréis grita, ni se oirá vuestra voz, ni saldrá palabra de vuestra boca, hasta el día que yo os diga: Gritad: entonces daréis grita.
10 Josua aber gebot dem Volk und sprach: Ihr sollt kein Feldgeschrei machen noch eure Stimme hören lassen, noch soll ein Wort aus eurem Munde gehen bis auf den Tag, da ich zu euch sagen werde: Macht ein Feldgeschrei! so macht dann ein Feldgeschrei.
11 So he made the ark of the Lord go all round the town once: then they went back to the tents for the night.
11 L'arche de l'Éternel fit le tour de la ville, elle fit une fois le tour; puis on rentra dans le camp, et l'on y passa la nuit.
11 Ghabh áirc an Tiarna timpeall na cathrach de réir a orduithe; ní dhearna sí an timpeall ach aon uair amháin; ansin d'fhilleadar ar an gcampa agus chaitheadar an oíche ann.
11 El arca pues de Jehová dió una vuelta alrededor de la ciudad, y viniéronse al real, en el cual tuvieron la noche.
11 Also ging die Lade des HERRN rings um die Stadt einmal, und sie kamen in das Lager und blieben darin über Nacht.
12 And early in the morning Joshua got up, and the priests took up the ark of the Lord.
12 Josué se leva de bon matin, et les sacrificateurs portèrent l'arche de l'Éternel.
12 D'éirigh Iósua go moch ar maidin agus thóg na sagairt leo áirc chonradh an Tiarna.
12 Y Josué se levantó de mañana, y los sacerdotes tomaron el arca de Jehová.
12 Und Josua machte sich des Morgens früh auf, und die Priester trugen die Lade des HERRN.
13 And the seven priests with their seven horns went on before the ark of the Lord, blowing their horns: the armed men went before them, and the mass of the people went after the ark of the Lord, blowing their horns.
13 Les sept sacrificateurs qui portaient les sept trompettes retentissantes devant l'arche de l'Éternel se mirent en marche et sonnèrent des trompettes. Les hommes armés marchaient devant eux, et l'arrière-garde suivait l'arche de l'Éternel; pendant la marche, on sonnait des trompettes.
13 Ghabh na seacht sagairt ar aghaidh roimh áirc an Tiarna ag iompar na seacht dtrumpa adhairce reithe ag séideadh na dtrumpaí gan stad; ghabh an t‑urgharda rompu amach, agus an cúlgharda i ndiaidh áirc an Tiarna agus na trumpaí á séideadh gan stad.
13 Y los siete sacerdotes, llevando las siete bocinas de cuernos de carneros, fueron delante del arca de Jehová, andando siempre y tocando las bocinas; y los armados iban delante de ellos, y la gente reunida iba detrás del arca de Jehová, andando y tocando las bocinas.
13 So trugen die sieben Priester die sieben Halljahrsposaunen vor der Lade des HERRN her und gingen und bliesen Posaunen; und wer gerüstet war, ging vor ihnen her, und der Haufe folgte der Lade des HERRN, und man blies Posaunen.
14 The second day they went all round the town once, and then went back to their tents: and so they did for six days.
14 Ils firent une fois le tour de la ville, le second jour; puis ils retournèrent dans le camp. Ils firent de même pendant six jours.
14 An dara lá mháirseáladar timpeall na cathrach aon uair amháin agus d'fhilleadar ar an gcampa. Rinneadar amhlaidh sé lá.
14 Así dieron otra vuelta á la ciudad el segundo día, y volviéronse al real: de esta manera hicieron por seis días.
14 Des andern Tages gingen sie auch einmal um die Stadt und kamen wieder ins Lager. Also taten sie sechs Tage.
15 Then on the seventh day they got up early, at the dawn of the day, and went round the town in the same way, but that day they went round it seven times.
15 Le septième jour, ils se levèrent de bon matin, dès l'aurore, et ils firent de la même manière sept fois le tour de la ville; ce fut le seul jour où ils firent sept fois le tour de la ville.
15 Ar an seachtú lá d'éiríodar go moch ar bhreacadh an lae agus mháirseáladar seacht n‑uaire timpeall na cathrach ar an tslí chéanna: ar an lá sin amháin a mháirseáladar seacht n‑uaire.
15 Y al séptimo día levantáronse cuando subía el alba, y dieron vuelta á la ciudad de la misma manera siete veces: solamente este día dieron vuelta alrededor de ella siete veces.
15 Am siebenten Tage aber, da die Morgenröte aufging, machten sie sich früh auf und gingen nach derselben Weise siebenmal um die Stadt, daß sie desselben einen Tages siebenmal um die Stadt kamen.
16 And the seventh time, at the sound of the priests' horns, Joshua said to the people, Now give a loud cry; for the Lord has given you the town.
16 A la septième fois, comme les sacrificateurs sonnaient des trompettes, Josué dit au peuple: Poussez des cris, car l'Éternel vous a livré la ville!
16 An seachtú huair, nuair a shéid na sagairt na trumpaí, dúirt Iósua leis an bpobal: “Tugaigí an gháir, óir thug an Tiarna an chathair daoibh.
16 Y como los sacerdotes hubieron tocado las bocinas la séptima vez, Josué dijo al pueblo: Dad grita, porque Jehová os ha entregado la ciudad.
16 Und beim siebentenmal, da die Priester die Posaunen bliesen, sprach Josua zum Volk: Macht ein Feldgeschrei; denn der HERR hat euch die Stadt gegeben.
17 And the town will be put to the curse, and everything in it will be given to the Lord: only Rahab, the loose woman, and all who are in the house with her, will be kept safe, because she kept secret the men we sent.
17 La ville sera dévouée à l'Éternel par interdit, elle et tout ce qui s'y trouve; mais on laissera la vie à Rahab la prostituée et à tous ceux qui seront avec elle dans la maison, parce qu'elle a caché les messagers que nous avions envoyés.
17 Ní foláir an chathair agus gach a bhfuil ann a thíolacadh faoi bhang an Tiarna; ná déantar anacal anama ach ar Rácháb an striapach - í féin agus líon a tí mar gur cheil sí na teachtairí a sheolamar.
17 Mas la ciudad será anatema á Jehová, ella con todas las cosas que están en ella: solamente Rahab la ramera vivirá, con todos los que estuvieren en casa con ella, por cuanto escondió los mensajeros que enviamos.
17 Aber diese Stadt und alles, was darin ist, soll dem HERRN verbannt sein. Allein die Hure Rahab soll leben bleiben und alle, die mit ihr im Hause sind; denn sie hat die Boten verborgen, die wir aussandten.
18 And as for you, keep yourselves from the cursed thing, for fear that you may get a desire for it and take some of it for yourselves, and so be the cause of a curse and great trouble on the tents of Israel.
18 Gardez-vous seulement de ce qui sera dévoué par interdit; car si vous preniez de ce que vous aurez dévoué par interdit, vous mettriez le camp d'Israël en interdit et vous y jetteriez le trouble.
18 Seachnaígí sibh féin ar na nithe tíolactha faoin mbang agus ná beirigí libh aon ní atá faoin mbang; d'fhágfadh sin campa uile Iosrael faoin mbang céanna agus thabharfadh sé buaireamh sa mhullach air.
18 Empero guardaos vosotros del anatema, que ni toquéis, ni toméis alguna cosa del anatema, porque no hagáis anatema el campo de Israel, y lo turbéis.
18 Allein hütet euch von dem Verbannten, daß ihr euch nicht verbannt, so ihr des Verbannten etwas nehmt, und macht das Lager Israel verbannt und bringt's in Unglück.
19 But all the silver and gold and the vessels of brass and iron are holy to the Lord: they are to come into the store-house of the Lord.
19 Tout l'argent et tout l'or, tous les objets d'airain et de fer, seront consacrés à l'Éternel, et entreront dans le trésor de l'Éternel.
19 An t‑airgead agus an t‑ór go léir, na gréithe cré-umha agus iarainn go léir, tá siad tíolactha don Tiarna agus ní foláir iad a chur i gciste an Tiarna.”
19 Mas toda la plata, y el oro, y vasos de metal y de hierro, sea consagrado á Jehová, y venga al tesoro de Jehová.
19 Aber alles Silber und Gold samt dem ehernen Geräte soll dem HERRN geheiligt sein, daß es zu des HERRN Schatz komme.
20 So the people gave a loud cry, and the horns were sounded; and on hearing the horns the people gave a loud cry, and the wall came down flat, so that the people went up into the town, every man going straight before him, and they took the town.
20 Le peuple poussa des cris, et les sacrificateurs sonnèrent des trompettes. Lorsque le peuple entendit le son de la trompette, il poussa de grands cris, et la muraille s'écroula; le peuple monta dans la ville, chacun devant soi. Ils s'emparèrent de la ville,
20 Lig an pobal gáir astu agus séideadh na trumpaí. Nuair a chuala an pobal glór an trumpa, ligeadar gáir thréan chatha astu is thit na ballaí ar lár ar an bpointe boise. Thug an pobal faoin gcathair ar an toirt, gach duine ag sá roimhe, agus ghabhadar an chathair.
20 Entonces el pueblo dió grita, y los sacerdotes tocaron las bocinas: y aconteció que como el pueblo hubo oído el sonido de la bocina, dió el pueblo grita con gran vocerío, y el muro cayó á plomo. El pueblo subió luego á la ciudad, cada uno en derecho de sí, y tomáronla.
20 Da machte das Volk ein Feldgeschrei, und man blies die Posaunen. Denn als das Volk den Hall der Posaunen hörte, machte es ein großes Feldgeschrei. Und die Mauer fielen um, und das Volk erstieg die Stadt, ein jeglicher stracks vor sich. Also gewannen sie die Stadt
21 And they put everything in the town to the curse; men and women, young and old, ox and sheep and ass, they put to death without mercy.
21 et ils dévouèrent par interdit, au fil de l'épée, tout ce qui était dans la ville, hommes et femmes, enfants et vieillards, jusqu'aux boeufs, aux brebis et aux ânes.
21 Scriosadar a raibh sa chathair ar fad le faobhar claímh - fir agus mná, óg agus aosta, fiú na daimh, na caoirigh agus na hasail.
21 Y destruyeron todo lo que en la ciudad había; hombres y mujeres, mozos y viejos, hasta los bueyes, y ovejas, y asnos, á filo de espada.
21 und verbannten alles, was in der Stadt war, mit der Schärfe des Schwerts: Mann und Weib, jung und alt, Ochsen, Schafe und Esel.
22 Then Joshua said to the two men who had been sent to make a search through the land, Go into the house of the loose woman, and get her out, and all who are with her, as you gave her your oath.
22 Josué dit aux deux hommes qui avaient exploré le pays: Entrez dans la maison de la femme prostituée, et faites-en sortir cette femme et tous ceux qui lui appartiennent, comme vous le lui avez juré.
22 Dúirt Iósua leis an mbeirt a rinne an tír a bhrath: “Isteach libh i dteach na striapaí agus tugaigí libh amach as an bhean agus gach a mbaineann léi mar a mhionnaigh sibh di.”
22 Mas Josué dijo á los dos hombres que habían reconocido la tierra: Entrad en casa de la mujer ramera, y haced salir de allá á la mujer, y á todo lo que fuere suyo, como lo jurasteis.
22 Aber Josua sprach zu den zwei Männern, die das Land ausgekundschaftet hatten: Geht in das Haus der Hure und führt das Weib von dort heraus mit allem, was sie hat, wie ihr versprochen habt.
23 So the searchers went in and got out Rahab and her father and mother and her brothers and all she had, and they got out all her family; and they took them outside the tents of Israel.
23 Les jeunes gens, les espions, entrèrent et firent sortir Rahab, son père, sa mère, ses frères, et tous ceux qui lui appartenaient; ils firent sortir tous les gens de sa famille, et ils les déposèrent hors du camp d'Israël.
23 Chuaigh na fir óga a rinne an spiaireacht isteach agus thugadar amach Rácháb agus a hathair agus a máthair agus a deartháireacha agus gach duine a bhain léi; thugadar amach a fine go léir agus d'fhágadar iad slán folláin lasmuigh de champa Iosrael.
23 Y los mancebos espías entraron, y sacaron á Rahab, y á su padre, y á su madre, y á sus hermanos, y todo lo que era suyo; y también sacaron á toda su parentela, y pusiéronlos fuera del campo de Israel.
23 Da gingen die Jünglinge, die Kundschafter, hinein und führten Rahab heraus samt Vater und Mutter und Brüdern und alles, was sie hatte, und alle ihre Geschlechter und ließ sie draußen, außerhalb des Lagers Israels.
24 Then, after burning up the town and everything in it, they put the silver and gold and the vessels of brass and iron into the store-house of the Lord's house.
24 Ils brûlèrent la ville et tout ce qui s'y trouvait; seulement ils mirent dans le trésor de la maison de l'Éternel l'argent, l'or et tous les objets d'airain et de fer.
24 Chuireadar an chathair agus a raibh inti trí thine, seachas an t‑airgead agus an t‑ór agus na gréithe cré-umha agus iarainn. Chuireadar iadsan i gciste theach an Tiarna.
24 Y consumieron con fuego la ciudad, y todo lo que en ella había: solamente pusieron en el tesoro de la casa de Jehová la plata, y el oro, y los vasos de metal y de hierro.
24 Aber die Stadt verbrannten sie mit Feuer und alles, was darin war. Allein das Silber und Gold und eherne und eiserne Geräte taten sie zum Schatz in das Haus des HERRN.
25 But Joshua kept Rahab, the loose woman, and her father's family and all she had, from death, and so she got a living-place among the children of Israel to this day; because she kept safe the men whom Joshua had sent to make a search through the land.
25 Josué laissa la vie à Rahab la prostituée, à la maison de son père, et à tous ceux qui lui appartenaient; elle a habité au milieu d'Israël jusqu'à ce jour, parce qu'elle avait caché les messagers que Josué avait envoyés pour explorer Jéricho.
25 Ach Rácháb an striapach, agus líon tí a hathar, agus gach ar bhain léi, thug Iósua anacal anama dóibh agus tá cónaí uirthi in Iosrael go dtí an lá inniu féin, mar gur fholaigh sí na teachtairí a sheol an Tiarna chun Ireachó a bhrath.
25 Mas Josué salvó la vida á Rahab la ramera, y á la casa de su padre, y á todo lo que ella tenía: y habitó ella entre los Israelitas hasta hoy; por cuanto escondió los mensajeros que Josué envió á reconocer á Jericó.
25 Rahab aber, die Hure, samt dem Hause ihres Vaters und alles, was sie hatte, ließ Josua leben. Und sie wohnt in Israel bis auf diesen Tag, darum daß sie die Boten verborgen hatte, die Josua auszukundschaften gesandt hatte gen Jericho.
26 Then Joshua gave the people orders with an oath, saying, Let that man be cursed before the Lord who puts his hand to the building up of this town: with the loss of his first son will he put the first stone of it in place, and with the loss of his youngest son he will put up its doors.
26 Ce fut alors que Josué jura, en disant: Maudit soit devant l'Éternel l'homme qui se lèvera pour rebâtir cette ville de Jéricho! Il en jettera les fondements au prix de son premier-né, et il en posera les portes au prix de son plus jeune fils.
26 Um an dtaca sin chuir Iósua faoi bhrí an mhionna seo iad: Go raibh mallacht ar an té a éireoidh agus a thógfaidh an chathair seo [Ireachó] arís; ar a chéadghin a luífidh a bonn, agus an mac is óige leis a iompróidh a geataí.
26 Y en aquel tiempo Josué les juramentó diciendo: Maldito delante de Jehová el hombre que se levantare y reedificare esta ciudad de Jericó. En su primogénito eche sus cimientos, y en su menor asiente sus puertas.
26 Zu der Zeit schwur Josua und sprach: Verflucht sei der Mann vor dem HERRN, der sich aufmacht und diese Stadt Jericho wieder baut! Wenn er einen Grund legt, das koste ihn den ersten Sohn; wenn er ihre Tore setzt, das koste ihn seinen jüngsten Sohn!
27 So the Lord was with Joshua; and news of him went through all the land.
27 L'Éternel fut avec Josué, dont la renommée se répandit dans tout le pays.
