1 Now when the news came to all the kings of the Amorites on the west side of Jordan, and all the kings of the Canaanites living by the sea, how the Lord had made the waters of Jordan dry before the children of Israel, till they had gone across, their hearts became like water, and there was no more spirit in them, because of the children of Israel.
1 Lorsque tous les rois des Amoréens à l'occident du Jourdain et tous les rois des Cananéens près de la mer apprirent que l'Éternel avait mis à sec les eaux du Jourdain devant les enfants d'Israël jusqu'à ce que nous eussions passé, ils perdirent courage et furent consternés à l'aspect des enfants d'Israël.
1 Nuair a chuala ríthe na nAmórach a bhí sa dúiche laistiar den Iordáin agus ríthe uile na gCanánach a bhí ar fheorainn na farraige gur thriomaigh an Tiarna uiscí na Iordáine do phobal Iosrael, nó go rabhadar gafa anonn, tháinig beaguchtach orthu agus níor fhan aon mhisneach a thuilleadh acu de bharr chlann Iosrael.
1 Y Cuando todos los reyes de los Amorrheos, que estaban de la otra parte del Jordán al occidente, y todos los reyes de los Cananeos, que estaban cerca de la mar, oyeron como Jehová había secado las aguas del Jordán delante de los hijos de Israel hasta que hubieron pasado, desfalleció su corazón, y no hubo más espíritu en ellos delante de los hijos de Israel.
1 Da nun alle Könige der Amoriter, die jenseit des Jordans gegen Abend wohnten, und alle Könige der Kanaaniter am Meer hörten, wie der HERR das Wasser des Jordans hatte ausgetrocknet vor den Kindern Israel, bis sie hinübergingen, verzagte ihr Herz, und war kein Mut mehr in ihnen vor den Kindern Israel.
2 At that time the Lord said to Joshua, Make yourself stone knives and give the children of Israel circumcision a second time.
2 En ce temps-là, l'Éternel dit à Josué: Fais-toi des couteaux de pierre, et circoncis de nouveau les enfants d'Israël, une seconde fois.
2 Um an dtaca sin dúirt an Tiarna le Iósua: “Déan sceana breochloiche agus déan clann Iosrael a thimpeallghearradh arís den dara huair.”
2 En aquel tiempo Jehová dijo á Josué: Hazte cuchillos afilados, y vuelve á circuncidar la segunda vez á los hijos de Israel.
2 Zu der Zeit sprach der HERR zu Josua: Mach dir steinerne Messer und beschneide die Kinder Israel zum andernmal.
3 So Joshua made stone knives and gave the children of Israel circumcision at Gibeath-ha-araloth.
3 Josué se fit des couteaux de pierre, et il circoncit les enfants d'Israël sur la colline d'Araloth.
3 Rinne Iósua sceana breochloiche agus thimpeallghearr sé clann Iosrael ar Chnoc na bhForchraiceann.
3 Y Josué se hizo cuchillos afilados, y circuncidó á los hijos de Israel en el monte de los prepucios.
3 Da machte sich Josua steinerne Messer und beschnitt die Kinder Israel auf dem Hügel Araloth.
4 And this is the reason why Joshua did so: all the males of the people who came out of Egypt, all the fighting-men, had been overtaken by death in the waste land on the way, after they came out of Egypt.
4 Voici la raison pour laquelle Josué les circoncit. Tout le peuple sorti d'Égypte, les mâles, tous les hommes de guerre, étaient morts dans le désert, pendant la route, après leur sortie d'Égypte.
4 Sé cúis gur thimpeallghearr Iósua iad ná seo: na fireannaigh go léir ar an bpobal a tháinig as an Éigipt amach a bhí in aois airm a iompar, fuaireadar bás san fhásach ar an tslí dóibh tríd tar éis teacht as an Éigipt amach.
4 Esta es la causa por la cual Josué los circuncidó: todo el pueblo que había salido de Egipto, los varones, todos los hombres de guerra, habían muerto en el desierto por el camino, después que salieron de Egipto.
4 Und das ist die Sache, darum Josua sie beschnitt: Alles Volk, das aus Ägypten gezogen war, die Männer, alle Kriegsleute, waren gestorben in der Wüste auf dem Wege, da sie aus Ägypten zogen.
5 All the people who came out had undergone circumcision; but all the people whose birth had taken place in the waste land on their journey from Egypt had not.
5 Tout ce peuple sorti d'Égypte était circoncis; mais tout le peuple né dans le désert, pendant la route, après la sortie d'Égypte, n'avait point été circoncis.
5 An mhuintir go léir a tháinig amach do timpeallghearradh iad; ach an méid daoine a rugadh san fhásach ar a slí dóibh tríd tar éis teacht as an Éigipt, níor timpeallghearradh iadsan.
5 Porque todos los del pueblo que habían salido, estaban circuncidados: mas todo el pueblo que había nacido en el desierto por el camino, después que salieron de Egipto, no estaban circuncidados.
5 Denn alles Volk, das auszog war beschnitten; aber alles Volk, das in der Wüste geboren war, auf dem Wege, da sie aus Ägypten zogen, das war nicht beschnitten.
6 For the children of Israel were wandering in the waste land for forty years, till all the nation, that is, all the fighting-men, who had come out of Egypt, were dead, because they did not give ear to the voice of the Lord: to whom the Lord said, with an oath, that he would not let them see the land which the Lord had given his word to their fathers to give us, a land flowing with milk and honey.
6 Car les enfants d'Israël avaient marché quarante ans dans le désert jusqu'à la destruction de toute la nation des hommes de guerre qui étaient sortis d'Égypte et qui n'avaient point écouté la voix de l'Éternel; l'Éternel leur jura de ne pas leur faire voir le pays qu'il avait juré à leurs pères de nous donner, pays où coulent le lait et le miel.
6 Mar bhí clann Iosrael ar guardal san fhásach ar feadh daichead bliain nó go raibh an pobal go léir tar éis bháis, na fir go léir is é sin, a tháinig as an Éigipt amach a bhí in aois airm a iompar, mar níor éisteadar le glór an Tiarna; thug an Tiarna mionn dóibhsean nach ligfeadh sé dóibh go deo radharc a fháil ar an tír a mhionnaigh an Tiarna dá n‑aithreacha a thabharfadh sé dóibh, tír ina bhfuil bainne agus mil ina slaoda.
6 Porque los hijos de Israel anduvieron por el desierto cuarenta años, hasta que toda la gente de los hombres de guerra que habían salido de Egipto, fué consumida, por cuanto no obedecieron á la voz de Jehová; por lo cual Jehová les juró que no les dejaría ver la tierra, de la cual Jehová había jurado á sus padres que nos la daría, tierra que fluye leche y miel.
6 Denn die Kinder Israel wandelten vierzig Jahre in der Wüste, bis daß das ganze Volk der Kriegsmänner, die aus Ägypten gezogen waren, umkamen, darum daß sie der Stimme des HERRN nicht gehorcht hatten; wie denn der HERR ihnen geschworen hatte uns zu geben, ein Land, darin Milch und Honig fließt.
7 And their children, who came up in their place, now underwent circumcision by the hands of Joshua, not having had it before: for there had been no circumcision on the journey.
7 Ce sont leurs enfants qu'il établit à leur place; et Josué les circoncit, car ils étaient incirconcis, parce qu'on ne les avait point circoncis pendant la route.
7 Is iad a gclann dá bhrí sin, an mhuintir a thóg sé ina n‑áit, a thimpeallghearr Iósua; bhíodarsan gan timpeallghearradh mar nár timpeallghearradh iad ar an tslí.
7 Y los hijos de ellos, que él había hecho suceder en su lugar, Josué los circuncidó; pues eran incircuncisos, porque no habían sido circuncidados por el camino.
7 Deren Kinder, die an ihrer Statt waren aufgekommen, beschnitt Josua; denn sie hatten Vorhaut und waren auf dem Wege nicht beschnitten.
8 So when all the nation had undergone circumcision, they kept in their tents till they were well again.
8 Lorsqu'on eut achevé de circoncire toute la nation, ils restèrent à leur place dans le camp jusqu'à leur guérison.
8 Nuair a bhí timpeallghearradh déanta ar an bpobal ar fad, d'fhanadar mar a raibh acu sa champa nó gur chneasaíodar.
8 Y cuando hubieron acabado de circuncidar toda la gente, quedáronse en el mismo lugar en el campo, hasta que sanaron.
8 Und da das ganze Volk beschnitten war, blieben sie an ihrem Ort im Lager, bis sie heil wurden.
9 And the Lord said to Joshua, Today the shame of Egypt has been rolled away from you. So that place was named Gilgal, to this day.
9 L'Éternel dit à Josué: Aujourd'hui, j'ai roulé de dessus vous l'opprobre de l'Égypte. Et ce lieu fut appelé du nom de Guilgal jusqu'à ce jour.
9 Agus dúirt an Tiarna le Iósua: “Inniu féin rinne mé aithis na hÉigipte a dhíbirt uaibh.” Uime sin tugadh Gilgeál ar an áit go dtí an lá atá inniu ann.
9 Y Jehová dijo á Josué: Hoy he quitado de vosotros el oprobio de Egipto: por lo cual el nombre de aquel lugar fué llamado Gilgal, hasta hoy.
9 Und der HERR sprach zu Josua: Heute habe ich die Schande Ägyptens von euch gewendet. Und diese Stätte ward Gilgal genannt bis auf diesen Tag.
10 So the children of Israel put up their tents in Gilgal; and they kept the Passover on the fourteenth day of the month, in the evening, in the lowlands of Jericho.
10 Les enfants d'Israël campèrent à Guilgal; et ils célébrèrent la Pâque le quatorzième jour du mois, sur le soir, dans les plaines de Jéricho.
10 Fad a bhí muintir Iosrael ag cur fúthu i gcampa i nGilgeál, choimeádadar an Cháisc ar an gceathrú lá déag den mhí, um thráthnóna, ar mhachairí Ireachó.
10 Y los hijos de Israel asentaron el campo en Gilgal, y celebraron la pascua á los catorce días del mes, por la tarde, en los llanos de Jericó.
10 Und als die Kinder Israel also in Gilgal das Lager hatten, hielten sie Passah am vierzehnten Tage des Monats am Abend auf dem Gefilde Jerichos
11 And on the day after the Passover, they had for their food the produce of the land, unleavened cakes and dry grain on the same day.
11 Ils mangèrent du blé du pays le lendemain de la Pâque, des pains sans levain et du grain rôti; ils en mangèrent ce même jour.
11 Amárach na Cásca, an lá sin díreach, d'itheadar cuid de thorthaí na tíre, cístí gan ghabháile agus arbhar tíortha.
11 Y al otro día de la pascua comieron del fruto de la tierra los panes sin levadura, y en el mismo día espigas nuevas tostadas.
11 und aßen vom Getreide des Landes am Tag nach dem Passah, nämlich ungesäuertes Brot und geröstete Körner, ebendesselben Tages.
12 And there was no more manna from the day after they had for their food the produce of the land; the children of Israel had manna no longer, but that year the produce of the land of Canaan was their food.
12 La manne cessa le lendemain de la Pâque, quand ils mangèrent du blé du pays; les enfants d'Israël n'eurent plus de manne, et ils mangèrent des produits du pays de Canaan cette année-là.
12 As sin ar aghaidh, ón uair a d'itheadar cuid de thorthaí na tíre, níor thit an manna a thuilleadh; bhí clann Iosrael gan mhanna as sin amach, ach d'itheadar torthaí thír Chanán an bhliain sin. Gabháil Ireachó
12 Y el maná cesó el día siguiente, desde que comenzaron á comer del fruto de la tierra: y los hijos de Israel nunca más tuvieron maná, sino que comieron de los frutos de la tierra de Canaán aquel año.
12 Und das Man hörte auf des andern Tages, da sie des Landes Getreide aßen, daß die Kinder Israel kein Man mehr hatten, sondern aßen vom Getreide des Landes Kanaan in demselben Jahr.
13 Now when Joshua was near Jericho, lifting up his eyes he saw a man in front of him, with his sword uncovered in his hand: and Joshua went up to him and said, Are you for us or against us?
13 Comme Josué était près de Jéricho, il leva les yeux, et regarda. Voici, un homme se tenait debout devant lui, son épée nue dans la main. Il alla vers lui, et lui dit: Es-tu des nôtres ou de nos ennemis?
13 Nuair a bhí Iósua i ngar do Ireachó, d'ardaigh sé a shúile, chonaic fear ina sheasamh ansiúd os a chomhair, agus claíomh nocht ina láimh aige. Shiúil Iósua ina threo agus dúirt leis: “An ar ár dtaobhna atá tú, nó ar thaobh ár naimhde?”
13 Y estando Josué cerca de Jericó, alzó sus ojos, y vió un varón que estaba delante de él, el cual tenía una espada desnuda en su mano. Y Josué yéndose hacia él, le dijo: ¿Eres de los nuestros, ó de nuestros enemigos?
13 Und es begab sich, da Josua bei Jericho war, daß er seine Augen aufhob und ward gewahr, daß ein Mann ihm gegenüberstand und hatte sein bloßes Schwert in seiner Hand. Und Josua ging zu ihm und sprach zu ihm: Gehörst du uns an oder unsern Feinden?
14 And he said, No; but I have come as captain of the armies of the Lord. Then Joshua, falling down with his face to the earth in worship, said, What has my lord to say to his servant?
14 Il répondit: Non, mais je suis le chef de l'armée de l'Éternel, j'arrive maintenant. Josué tomba le visage contre terre, se prosterna, et lui dit: Qu'est-ce que mon seigneur dit à son serviteur?
14 D'fhreagair sé: “É seo eile,” ar sé, “is mé captaen arm an Tiarna. Táim ag teacht anois...” Thit Iósua ar a bhéal agus ar a fhiacla chun talún agus d'adhar é agus dúirt leis: “Cad iad orduithe mo Thiarna dá shearbhónta?”
14 Y él respondió: No; mas Príncipe del ejército de Jehová, ahora he venido. Entonces Josué postrándose sobre su rostro en tierra le adoró; y díjole: ¿Qué dice mi Señor á su siervo?
14 Er sprach: Nein, sondern ich bin ein Fürst über das Heer des HERRN und bin jetzt gekommen. Da fiel Josua auf sein Angesicht zur Erde und betete an und sprach zu ihm: Was sagt mein HERR seinem Knecht?
15 And the captain of the Lord's army said to Joshua, Take off your shoes from your feet, for the place where you are is holy. And Joshua did so.
15 Et le chef de l'armée de l'Éternel dit à Josué: Ote tes souliers de tes pieds, car le lieu sur lequel tu te tiens est saint. Et Josué fit ainsi.
