1 When the nations, whose land the Lord your God is giving you, have been cut off by him, and you have taken their place and are living in their towns and in their houses;
1 Lorsque l'Éternel, ton Dieu, aura exterminé les nations dont l'Éternel, ton Dieu, te donne le pays, lorsque tu les auras chassées et que tu habiteras dans leurs villes et dans leurs maisons,
1 “Nuair a dhíothóidh an Tiarna do Dhia na ciníocha a dtugann an Tiarna do Dhia a bhfearann duit, agus go gcuirfidh tú as seilbh iad, agus dul chun cónaí ina gcathracha agus ina dtithe,
1 Cuando Jehová tu Dios talare las gentes, cuya tierra Jehová tu Dios te da á ti, y tú las heredares, y habitares en sus ciudades, y en sus casas;
1 Wenn der HERR, dein Gott, die Völker ausgerottet hat, welcher Land dir der HERR, dein Gott, geben wird, daß du es einnehmest und in ihren Städten und Häusern wohnst,
2 You are to have three towns marked out in the land which the Lord your God is giving you for your heritage.
2 tu sépareras trois villes au milieu du pays dont l'Éternel, ton Dieu, te donne la possession.
2 cuir trí chathair ar leith duit féin sa tír a thugann an Tiarna do Dhia duit le sealbhú.
2 Te apartarás tres ciudades en medio de tu tierra que Jehová tu Dios te da para que la poseas.
2 sollst du dir drei Städte aussondern in dem Lande, das dir der HERR, dein Gott, geben wird einzunehmen.
3 You are to make ready a way, and see that the land which the Lord your God is giving you for your heritage, is marked out into three parts, to which any taker of life may go in flight.
3 Tu établiras des routes, et tu diviseras en trois parties le territoire du pays que l'Éternel, ton Dieu, va te donner en héritage. Il en sera ainsi afin que tout meurtrier puisse s'enfuir dans ces villes.
3 Bíodh na bealaí chucu i ndea-ghléas agat agus roinn ina thrí coda achar na gcríoch a thugann an Tiarna do Dhia i do sheilbh duit sa chaoi a bhféadfaidh marfóir ar bith teitheadh chucu.
3 Arreglarte has el camino, y dividirás en tres partes el término de tu tierra, que Jehová tu Dios te dará en heredad, y será para que todo homicida se huya allí.
3 Und sollst den Weg dahin zurichten und das Gebiet deines Landes, das dir der HERR, dein Gott, austeilen wird, in drei Kreise scheiden, daß dahin fliehe, wer einen Totschlag getan hat.
4 This is to be the rule for anyone who goes in flight there, after causing the death of his neighbour in error and not through hate;
4 Cette loi s'appliquera au meurtrier qui s'enfuira là pour sauver sa vie, lorsqu'il aura involontairement tué son prochain, sans avoir été auparavant son ennemi.
4 Seo mar is féidir do dhuine a anam a bhreith leis ach teitheadh iontu: Má mharaíonn duine a chomharsa trí thaisme, agus gan é in earraid leis roimhe sin -
4 Y este es el caso del homicida que ha de huir allí, y vivirá: el que hiriere á su prójimo por yerro, que no le tenía enemistad desde ayer ni antes de ayer:
4 Und also soll's sein mit der Sache des Totschlägers, der dahin flieht, daß er lebendig bleibe: wenn jemand seinen Nächsten schlägt, nicht vorsätzlich, und hat zuvor keinen Haß auf ihn gehabt,
5 For example, if a man goes into the woods with his neighbour for the purpose of cutting down trees, and when he takes his axe to give a blow to the tree, the head of the axe comes off, and falling on to his neighbour gives him a wound causing his death; then the man may go in flight to one of these towns and be safe:
5 Un homme, par exemple, va couper du bois dans la forêt avec un autre homme; la hache en main, il s'élance pour abattre un arbre; le fer échappe du manche, atteint le compagnon de cet homme, et lui donne la mort. Alors il s'enfuira dans l'une de ces villes pour sauver sa vie,
5 téann duine, abair, isteach sa choill lena chomharsa ag gearradh adhmaid; tugann sé faoi chrann leis an tua ina láimh; sleamhnaíonn an ceann den tsáfach agus buaileann sé a chomharsa agus maraíonn sé é - is féidir dó teitheadh go dtí ceann de na cathracha sin agus teacht slán.
5 Como el que fué con su prójimo al monte á cortar leña, y poniendo fuerza con su mano en el hacha para cortar algún leño, saltó el hierro del cabo, y encontró á su prójimo, y murió; aquél huirá á una de aquestas ciudades, y vivirá;
5 sondern als wenn jemand mit seinem Nächsten in den Wald ginge, Holz zu hauen, und seine Hand holte mit der Axt aus, das Holz abzuhauen, und das Eisen führe vom Stiel und träfe seinen Nächsten, daß er stürbe: der soll in dieser Städte eine fliehen, daß er lebendig bleibe,
6 For if not, he who has the right of punishment may go running after the taker of life in the heat of his wrath, and overtake him because the way is long, and give him a death-blow; though it is not right for him to be put to death because he was not moved by hate.
6 de peur que le vengeur du sang, échauffé par la colère et poursuivant le meurtrier, ne finisse par l'atteindre s'il y avait à faire beaucoup de chemin, et ne frappe mortellement celui qui ne mérite pas la mort, puisqu'il n'était point auparavant l'ennemi de son prochain.
6 Ní ceadmhach d'fhear an éiric fola dul sa tóir ar an marfóir le barr feirge, agus teacht suas leis toisc fad an bhóthair agus goin mharfach a chur ann; óir níor thuill an duine sin bás ós rud é nach raibh sé in earraid lena chomharsa roimhe sin.
6 No sea que el pariente del muerto vaya tras el homicida, cuando se enardeciere su corazón, y le alcance por ser largo el camino, y le hiera de muerte, no debiendo ser condenado á muerte; por cuanto no tenía enemistad desde ayer ni antes de ayer con el muerto.
6 auf daß nicht der Bluträcher dem Totschläger nachjage, weil sein Herz erhitzt ist, und ergreife ihn, weil der Weg so ferne ist, und schlage ihn tot, so er doch nicht des Todes schuldig ist, weil er keinen Haß gegen ihn getragen hat.
7 And so I am ordering you to see that three towns are marked out for this purpose.
7 C'est pourquoi je te donne cet ordre: Tu sépareras trois villes.

7 Por tanto yo te mando, diciendo: Tres ciudades te apartarás.
7 Darum gebiete ich dir, daß du drei Städte aussonderst.
8 And if the Lord your God makes wide the limits of your land, as he said in his oath to your fathers, and gives you all the land which he undertook to give to your fathers;
8 Lorsque l'Éternel, ton Dieu, aura élargi tes frontières, comme il l'a juré à tes pères, et qu'il t'aura donné tout le pays qu'il a promis à tes pères de te donner, -
8 agus má chuireann an Tiarna do Dhia breis le do chríocha, faoi mar a mhionnaigh sé do d'aithreacha, agus go dtugann sé duit an tír go léir a gheall sé a thabhairt do d'aithreacha -
8 Y si Jehová tu Dios ensanchare tu término, como lo juró á tus padres, y te diere toda la tierra que dijo á tus padres que había de dar;
8 Und so der HERR, dein Gott, deine Grenzen erweitern wird, wie er deinen Vätern geschworen hat, und gibt dir alles Land, das er geredet hat deinen Vätern zu geben
9 If you keep and do all these orders which I give you today, loving the Lord your God and walking ever in his ways; then let three more towns, in addition to these three, be marked out for you:
9 pourvu que tu observes et mettes en pratique tous ces commandements que je te prescris aujourd'hui, en sorte que tu aimes l'Éternel, ton Dieu, et que tu marches toujours dans ses voies, -tu ajouteras encore trois villes à ces trois-là,
9 ar choinníoll go gcoimeádfaidh tú na haitheanta go léir a ordaím duit inniu le barr cáiréise, ag tabhairt grá don Tiarna do Dhia, agus ag leanúint de shíor ar a bhealaí - ansin cuir trí chathair eile leis na trí cinn sin.
9 Cuando guardases todos estos mandamientos, que yo te prescribo hoy, para ponerlos por obra, que ames á Jehová tu Dios y andes en sus caminos todos los días, entonces añadirás tres ciudades á más de estas tres;
9 (so du anders alle diese Gebote halten wirst, daß du darnach tust, die ich dir heute gebiete, daß du den HERRN, deinen Gott, liebst und in seinen Wegen wandelst dein Leben lang), so sollst du noch drei Städte tun zu diesen dreien,
10 So that in all your land, which the Lord your God is giving you for your heritage, no man may be wrongly put to death, for which you will be responsible.
10 afin que le sang innocent ne soit pas répandu au milieu du pays que l'Éternel, ton Dieu, te donne pour héritage, et que tu ne sois pas coupable de meurtre.
10 Ar an gcaoi sin ní dhoirtfear fuil an neamhchiontaigh sa tír atá an Tiarna do Dhia a thabhairt duit mar oidhreacht; d'fhágfadh a mhalairt ciontach i ndoirteadh fola thú.
10 Porque no sea derramada sangre inocente en medio de tu tierra, que Jehová tu Dios te da por heredad, y sea sobre ti sangre.
10 auf daß nicht unschuldig Blut in deinem Land vergossen werde, das dir der HERR, dein Gott, zum Erbe gibt, und Blutschulden auf dich kommen.
11 But if any man has hate for his neighbour, and waiting for him secretly makes an attack on him and gives him a blow causing his death, and then goes in flight to one of these towns;
11 Mais si un homme s'enfuit dans une de ces villes, après avoir dressé des embûches à son prochain par inimitié contre lui, après l'avoir attaqué et frappé de manière à causer sa mort,
11 “Ach má bhíonn duine i bhfíoch lena chomharsa agus go dtéann in eadarnaí faoina chionn agus go n‑ionsaíonn é agus go ngoineann go marfach agus go bhfaigheann seisean bás, agus ansin go dteithfeadh sé féin i gceann de na bailte sin,
11 Mas cuando hubiere alguno que aborreciere á su prójimo, y lo acechare, y se levantare sobre él, y lo hiriere de muerte, y muriere, y huyere á alguna de estas ciudades;
11 Wenn aber jemand Haß trägt wider seinen Nächsten und lauert auf ihn und macht sich über ihn und schlägt ihn tot und flieht in dieser Städte eine,
12 The responsible men of his town are to send and take him, and give him up to the one who has the right of punishment to be put to death.
12 les anciens de sa ville l'enverront saisir et le livreront entre les mains du vengeur du sang, afin qu'il meure.
12 cuireadh seanóirí a chathrach féin fios ar an té sin agus beiridís leo é, agus tugaidís ar láimh fhear éiric na fola é le cur chun báis.
12 Entonces los ancianos de su ciudad enviarán y lo sacarán de allí, y entregarlo han en mano del pariente del muerto, y morirá.
12 so sollen die Ältesten in seiner Stadt hinschicken und ihn von da holen lassen und ihn in die Hände des Bluträchers geben, daß er sterbe.
13 Have no pity on him, so that Israel may be clear from the crime of putting a man to death without cause, and it will be well for you.
13 Tu ne jetteras pas sur lui un regard de pitié, tu feras disparaître d'Israël le sang innocent, et tu seras heureux.
13 Ná bíodh trua ná taise agat dó; déan peaca doirteadh fola an neamhchiontaigh a dhíbirt as Iosrael agus ansin beidh an rath ort.
13 No le perdonará tu ojo: y quitarás de Israel la sangre inocente, y te irá bien.
13 Deine Augen sollen ihn nicht verschonen, und du sollst das unschuldige Blut aus Israel tun, daß dir's wohl gehe.
14 Your neighbour's landmark, which was put in its place by the men of old times, is not to be moved or taken away in the land of your heritage which the Lord your God is giving you.
14 Tu ne reculeras point les bornes de ton prochain, posées par tes ancêtres, dans l'héritage que tu auras au pays dont l'Éternel, ton Dieu, te donne la possession.
14 “Ná cur isteach ar mharc teorann do chomharsan a shocraigh an mhuintir fadó, san oidhreacht a ghlacfaidh tú sa tír atá an Tiarna do Dhia a thabhairt i do sheilbh. Finnéithe
14 No reducirás el término de tu prójimo, el cual señalaron los antiguos en tu heredad, la que poseyeres en la tierra que Jehová tu Dios te da para que la poseas.
14 Du sollst deines Nächsten Grenze nicht zurücktreiben, die die Vorfahren gesetzt haben in deinem Erbteil, das du erbest in dem Lande, das dir der HERR, dein Gott, gegeben hat einzunehmen.
15 One witness may not make a statement against a man in relation to any sin or wrongdoing which he has done: on the word of two or three witnesses a question is to be judged.
15 Un seul témoin ne suffira pas contre un homme pour constater un crime ou un péché, quel qu'il soit; un fait ne pourra s'établir que sur la déposition de deux ou de trois témoins.
15 “Ní leor aon fhinné amháin chun duine a dhaoradh i bpeaca nó i gcoir d'aon sórt a rinne sé; cibé coir a bhíonn i gceist is gá fianaise bheirt fhinné nó triúr chun aon chúis a dhearbhú.
15 No valdrá un testigo contra ninguno en cualquier delito, ó en cualquier pecado, en cualquier pecado que se cometiere. En el dicho de dos testigos, ó en el dicho de tres testigos consistirá el negocio.
15 Es soll kein einzelner Zeuge wider jemand auftreten über irgend eine Missetat oder Sünde, es sei welcherlei Sünde es sei, die man tun kann, sondern in dem Mund zweier oder dreier Zeugen soll die Sache bestehen.
16 If a false witness makes a statement against a man, saying that he has done wrong,
16 Lorsqu'un faux témoin s'élèvera contre quelqu'un pour l'accuser d'un crime,

16 Cuando se levantare testigo falso contra alguno, para testificar contra él rebelión,
16 Wenn ein frevler Zeuge wider jemand auftritt, über ihn zu bezeugen eine Übertretung,
17 Then the two men, between whom the argument has taken place, are to come before the Lord, before the priests and judges who are then in power;
17 les deux hommes en contestation comparaîtront devant l'Éternel, devant les sacrificateurs et les juges alors en fonctions.

17 Entonces los dos hombres litigantes se presentarán delante de Jehová, delante de los sacerdotes y jueces que fueren en aquellos días:
17 so sollen die beiden Männer, die eine Sache miteinander haben, vor dem HERRN, vor den Priestern und Richtern stehen, die zur selben Zeit sein werden;
18 And the judges will have the question looked into with care: and if the witness is seen to be false and to have made a false statement against his brother,
18 Les juges feront avec soin des recherches. Le témoin est-il un faux témoin, a-t-il fait contre son frère une fausse déposition,
18 Déanadh na breithiúna fiosrú go mion, agus más amhlaidh gur finné bréige an finné agus gur thug sé fianaise bhréige in aghaidh a bhráthar,
18 Y los jueces inquirirán bien, y si pareciere ser aquél testigo falso, que testificó falsamente contra su hermano,
18 und die Richter sollen wohl forschen. Und wenn der falsche Zeuge hat ein falsches Zeugnis wider seinen Bruder gegeben,
19 Then do to him what it was his purpose to do to his brother: and so put away the evil from among you.

20 And the rest of the people, hearing of it, will be full of fear, and never again do such evil among you.

21 Have no pity; let life be given for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.
