1 And the Lord said to Moses in the lowlands of Moab by Jordan at Jericho,
1 L'Éternel parla à Moïse, dans les plaines de Moab, près du Jourdain, vis-à-vis de Jéricho. Il dit:

1 Und der HERR redete mit Mose auf den Gefilde der Moabiter am Jordan gegenüber Jericho und sprach:
2 Give orders to the children of Israel to give to the Levites, from the heritage which is theirs, towns for themselves, with land on the outskirts of the towns.
2 Ordonne aux enfants d'Israël d'accorder aux Lévites, sur l'héritage qu'ils posséderont, des villes où ils puissent habiter. Vous donnerez aussi aux Lévites une banlieue autour de ces villes.
2 “Ordaigh do chlann Iosrael cathracha le cónaí iontu, agus talamh féaraigh timpeall na gcathracha, a thabhairt do na Léivítigh as an oidhreacht ina seilbh; tugaigí an méid sin do na Léivítigh.
2 Manda á los hijos de Israel, que den á los Levitas de la posesión de su heredad ciudades en que habiten: También daréis á los Levitas ejidos de esas ciudades alrededor de ellas.
2 Gebiete den Kindern Israel, daß sie den Leviten Städte geben von ihren Erbgütern zur Wohnung;
3 These towns are to be their living-places, with land round them for their cattle and their food and all their beasts,
3 Ils auront les villes pour y habiter; et les banlieues seront pour leur bétail, pour leurs biens et pour tous leurs animaux.
3 Bíodh na cathracha mar bhaile acu agus an féarach máguaird acu dá n‑eallach, dá stoc, agus dá n‑ainmhithe go léir.
3 Y tendrán ellos las ciudades para habitar, y los ejidos de ellas serán para sus animales, y para sus ganados, y para todas sus bestias.
3 dazu Vorstädte um die Städte her sollt ihr den Leviten auch geben, daß sie in den Städten wohnen und in den Vorstädten ihr Vieh und Gut und allerlei Tiere haben.
4 Stretching from the wall of the towns a distance of a thousand cubits all round.
4 Les banlieues des villes que vous donnerez aux Lévites auront, à partir du mur de la ville et au dehors, mille coudées tout autour.
4 Féarach na gcathracha máguaird a thabharfaidh sibh do na Léivítigh, síneadh sé míle banlámh ó bhallaí na cathrach amach ar gach taobh.
4 Y los ejidos de las ciudades que daréis á los Levitas, serán mil codos alrededor, desde el muro de la ciudad para afuera.
4 Die Weite aber der Vorstädte, die ihr den Leviten gebt, soll tausend Ellen draußen vor der Stadtmauer umher haben.
5 The measure of this space of land is to be two thousand cubits outside the town on the east, and two thousand cubits on the south and on the west and on the north, the town being in the middle. This space will be the outskirts of their towns.
5 Vous mesurerez, en dehors de la ville, deux mille coudées pour le côté oriental, deux mille coudées pour le côté méridional, deux mille coudées pour le côté occidental, et deux mille coudées pour le côté septentrional. La ville sera au milieu. Telles seront les banlieues de leurs villes.
5 Lasmuigh den chathair déanaigí dhá mhíle banlámh a thomhas lastoir, agus dhá mhíle banlámh laisteas, agus dhá mhíle banlámh laistiar, agus dhá mhíle banlámh lastuaidh, agus an baile i lár baill; bíodh sin ina thalamh féaraigh ag na cathracha seo.
5 Luego mediréis fuera de la ciudad á la parte del oriente dos mil codos, y á la parte del mediodía dos mil codos, y á la parte del occidente dos mil codos, y á la parte del norte dos mil codos, y la ciudad en medio: esto tendrán por los ejidos de las ciudades.
5 So sollt ihr nun messen außen an der Stadt von der Ecke gegen Morgen zweitausend Ellen und von der Ecke gegen Mittag zweitausend Ellen und von der Ecke gegen Abend zweitausend Ellen und von der Ecke gegen Mitternacht zweitausend Ellen, daß die Stadt in der Mitte sei. Das sollen ihre Vorstädte sein.
6 And the towns which you give the Levites are to be the six safe places to which the taker of life may go in flight; and in addition you are to give them forty-two towns.
6 Parmi les villes que vous donnerez aux Lévites, il y aura six villes de refuge où pourra s'enfuir le meurtrier, et quarante-deux autres villes.
6 Ar na cathracha a thabharfaidh sibh do na Léivítigh, beidh sé chathair thearmainn, mar a gceadóidh sibh don lámh dhearg teitheadh; agus ina dteannta tugaigí dhá chathair agus daichead eile.
6 Y de las ciudades que daréis á los Levitas, seis ciudades serán de acogimiento, las cuales daréis para que el homicida se acoja allá: y además de éstas daréis cuarenta y dos ciudades.
6 Und unter den Städten, die ihr den Leviten geben werdet, sollt ihr sechs Freistädte geben, daß dahinein fliehe, wer einen Totschlag getan hat. Über dieselben sollt ihr noch zweiundvierzig Städte geben,
7 Forty-eight towns are to be given to the Levites, all with land round them.
7 Total des villes que vous donnerez aux Lévites: quarante-huit villes, avec leurs banlieues.
7 Tugaigí ocht gcathair agus daichead ar fad do na Léivítigh mar aon lena dtalamh féaraigh.
7 Todas las ciudades que daréis á los Levitas serán cuarenta y ocho ciudades; ellas con sus ejidos.
7 daß alle Städte, die ihr den Leviten gebt, seien achtundvierzig mit ihren Vorstädten.
8 And these towns are to be given out of the heritage of the children of Israel, taking the greater number from those who have much, and a smaller number from those who have little: everyone, in the measure of his heritage, is to give of his property to the Levites.
8 Les villes que vous donnerez sur les propriétés des enfants d'Israël seront livrées en plus grand nombre par ceux qui en ont le plus, et en plus petit nombre par ceux qui en ont moins; chacun donnera de ses villes aux Lévites à proportion de l'héritage qu'il possédera.
8 Maidir leis na cathracha a thabharfaidh sibh do na Léivítigh as sealúchas chlann Iosrael, ón muintir ag a bhfuil breis tugaigí breis, agus ón muintir ag a bhfuil níos lú, tugaigí níos lú. Tugadh gach duine cathracha dá chuid do na Léivítigh de réir méid na hoidhreachta a fuair sé féin.” Cathracha Tearmainn
8 Y las ciudades que diereis de la heredad de los hijos de Israel, del que mucho tomaréis mucho, y del que poco tomaréis poco: cada uno dará de sus ciudades á los Levitas según la posesión que heredará.
8 Und sollt derselben desto mehr geben von denen, die viel besitzen unter den Kindern Israel, und desto weniger von denen, die wenig besitzen; ein jeglicher nach seinem Erbteil, das ihm zugeteilt wird, soll Städte den Leviten geben.
9 And the Lord said to Moses,

10 Say to the children of Israel, when you have gone over Jordan into the land of Canaan;
10 Parle aux enfants d'Israël, et dis-leur: Lorsque vous aurez passé le Jourdain et que vous serez entrés dans le pays de Canaan,
10 “Abair é seo le clann Iosrael: Nuair rachaidh sibh thar Iordáin trasna go tír Chanán,
10 Habla á los hijos de Israel, y diles: Cuando hubiereis pasado el Jordán á la tierra de Canaán,
10 Rede mit den Kindern Israel und sprich zu ihnen: Wenn ihr über den Jordan ins Land Kanaan kommt,
11 Then let certain towns be marked out as safe places to which anyone who takes the life of another in error may go in flight.
11 vous vous établirez des villes qui soient pour vous des villes de refuge, où pourra s'enfuir le meurtrier qui aura tué quelqu'un involontairement.
11 ansin roghnaígí cathracha le bheith ina gcathracha seo mar thearmainn agaibh ón díoltach fola i dhéanann marú gan bheartú dídean.
11 Os señalaréis ciudades, ciudades de acogimiento tendréis, donde huya el homicida que hiriere á alguno de muerte por yerro.
11 sollt ihr Städte auswählen, daß sie Freistädte seien, wohin fliehe, wer einen Totschlag unversehens tut.
12 In these towns you may be safe from him who has the right of punishment; so that death may not overtake the taker of life till he has been judged by the meeting of the people.
12 Ces villes vous serviront de refuge contre le vengeur du sang, afin que le meurtrier ne soit point mis à mort avant d'avoir comparu devant l'assemblée pour être jugé.
12 Bíodh na cathracha seo mar thearmannn agaibh ón díoltach fola i dtreo nach mbásófaí an marfóir gan é thabhairt chun breithe os comhair an chomhthionóil.
12 Y os serán aquellas ciudades por acogimiento del pariente, y no morirá el homicida hasta que esté á juicio delante de la congregación.
12 Und sollen unter euch solche Freistädte sein vor dem Bluträcher, daß der nicht sterben müsse, der einen Totschlag getan hat, bis daß er vor der Gemeinde vor Gericht gestanden sei.
13 Six of the towns which you give will be such safe places;
13 Des villes que vous donnerez, six seront pour vous des villes de refuge.
13 Na cathracha seo a thabharfaidh sibh, bídís ina sé cathracha tearmainn.
13 De las ciudades, pues, que daréis, tendréis seis ciudades de acogimiento.
13 Und der Städte, die ihr geben werdet zu Freistädten, sollen sechs sein.
14 Three on the other side of Jordan and three in the land of Canaan, to be safe places for flight.
14 Vous donnerez trois villes au delà du Jourdain, et vous donnerez trois villes dans le pays de Canaan: ce seront des villes de refuge.
14 Tabharfaidh sibh trí chathair lastall den Iordáin agus trí chathair i dtír Chanán le bheith ina gcathracha tearmainn.
14 Tres ciudades daréis de esta parte del Jordán, y tres ciudades daréis en la tierra de Canaán; las cuales serán ciudades de acogimiento.
14 Drei sollt ihr geben diesseit des Jordans und drei im Lande Kanaan.
15 For the children of Israel and for the man from another country who is living among them, these six towns are to be safe places, where anyone causing the death of another through error may go in flight.
15 Ces six villes serviront de refuge aux enfants d'Israël, à l'étranger et à celui qui demeure au milieu de vous: là pourra s'enfuir tout homme qui aura tué quelqu'un involontairement.
15 Beidh na sé cathracha seo mar thearmann ag clann Iosrael agus ag an gcoimhthíoch agus ag an deoraí atá ag cur faoi ina measc, i dtreo gur féidir don té a dhéanann marú cinniúnach teitheadh iontu.
15 Estas seis ciudades serán para acogimiento á los hijos de Israel, y al peregrino, y al que morare entre ellos, para que huya allá cualquiera que hiriere de muerte á otro por yerro.
15 Das sind die sechs Freistädte, den Kindern Israel und den Fremdlingen und den Beisassen unter euch, daß dahin fliehe, wer einen Totschlag getan hat unversehens.
16 But if a man gives another man a blow with an iron instrument, causing his death, he is a taker of life and is certainly to be put to death.
16 Si un homme frappe son prochain avec un instrument de fer, et que la mort en soit la suite, c'est un meurtrier: le meurtrier sera puni de mort.
16 Ach más amhlaidh a bhuail sé an duine le huirlis iarainn agus gur mharaigh; is dúnmharfóir é. Ní foláir an dúnmharfóir a chur chun báis.
16 Y si con instrumento de hierro lo hiriere y muriere, homicida es; el homicida morirá:
16 Wer jemand mit einem Eisen schlägt, daß er stirbt, der ist ein Totschläger und soll des Todes sterben.
17 Or if he gives him a blow with a stone in his hand, causing his death, he is a taker of life and is certainly to be put to death.
17 S'il le frappe, tenant à la main une pierre qui puisse causer la mort, et que la mort en soit la suite, c'est un meurtrier: le meurtrier sera puni de mort.
17 Má bhuail sé é le cloch, sás a mharaithe, ina láimh agus gur mharaigh, is dúnmharfóir é; ní foláir an dúnmharfóir a chur chun báis.
17 Y si con piedra de mano, de que pueda morir, lo hiriere, y muriere, homicida es; el homicida morirá.
17 Wirft er ihn mit einem Stein, mit dem jemand mag getötet werden, daß er davon stirbt, so ist er ein Totschläger und soll des Todes sterben.
18 Or if he gave him blows with a wood instrument in his hands, causing his death, he is a taker of life and is certainly to be put to death.
18 S'il le frappe, tenant à la main un instrument de bois qui puisse causer la mort, et que la mort en soit la suite, c'est un meurtrier: le meurtrier sera puni de mort.

18 Schlägt er ihn aber mit einem Holz, mit dem jemand mag totgeschlagen werden, daß er stirbt, so ist er ein Totschläger und soll des Todes sterben.
19 He whose right it is to give punishment for blood, may himself put to death the taker of life when he comes face to face with him.
19 Le vengeur du sang fera mourir le meurtrier; quand il le rencontrera, il le tuera.
19 Cuireadh an díoltach fola féin an dúnmharfóir chun báis. Nuair a bhuaileann sé leis, cuireadh sé chun báis é.
19 El pariente del muerto, él matará al homicida: cuando lo encontrare, él le matará.
19 Der Rächer des Bluts soll den Totschläger zum Tode bringen; wo er ihm begegnet, soll er ihn töten.
20 If in his hate he put a sword through him, or waiting secretly for him sent a spear or stone at him, causing his death;
20 Si un homme pousse son prochain par un mouvement de haine, ou s'il jette quelque chose sur lui avec préméditation, et que la mort en soit la suite,
20 Má thug an marfóir drochíde le barr fuatha ar an duine, nó má chaith sé urchar marfach gan choinne leis chun é a leagan ar lár,
20 Y si por odio lo empujó, ó echó sobre él alguna cosa por asechanzas, y muere;
20 Stößt er ihn aus Haß oder wirft etwas auf ihn aus List, daß er stirbt,
21 Or in hate gave him blows with his hand, causing death; he who gave the death-blow is to be put to death; he is a taker of life: he whose right it is to give punishment for blood may put to death the taker of life when he comes face to face with him.
21 ou s'il le frappe de sa main par inimitié, et que la mort en soit la suite, celui qui a frappé sera puni de mort, c'est un meurtrier: le vengeur du sang tuera le meurtrier, quand il le rencontrera.
21 nó má bhuail sé buille dhorn marfach air le holc, ansin ní foláir an té a bhuail an buille a chur chun báis; is dúnmharfóir é; ní foláir don díoltach fola é a chur chun báis nuair a bhuaileann sé leis.
21 O por enemistad lo hirió con su mano, y murió: el heridor morirá; es homicida; el pariente del muerto matará al homicida, cuando lo encontrare.
21 oder schlägt ihn aus Feindschaft mit seiner Hand, daß er stirbt, so soll er des Todes sterben, der ihn geschlagen hat; denn er ist ein Totschläger. Der Rächer des Bluts soll ihn zum Tode bringen, wo er ihm begegnet.
22 But if a man has given a wound to another suddenly and not in hate, or without design has sent something against him,
22 Mais si un homme pousse son prochain subitement et non par inimitié, ou s'il jette quelque chose sur lui sans préméditation,
22 Ach más trí chinniúint a thug sé drochíde ar an duine, gan mhailís, nó má chaith sé urchar leis agus gan a bheith i luíochán air,
22 Mas si casualmente lo empujó sin enemistades, ó echó sobre él cualquier instrumento sin asechanzas,
22 Wenn er ihn aber ungefähr stößt, ohne Feindschaft, oder wirft irgend etwas auf ihn unversehens
23 Or has given him a blow with a stone, without seeing him, so causing his death, though he had nothing against him and no desire to do him evil:
23 ou s'il fait tomber sur lui par mégarde une pierre qui puisse causer la mort, et que la mort en soit la suite, sans qu'il ait de la haine contre lui et qu'il lui cherche du mal,
23 nó má scaoil sé cloch sás a mharaithe anuas air gan é a fheiceáil agus gur mharaigh sé é amhlaidh sin, chomh fada is nach raibh olc aige dó nó drochrún aige chuige,
23 O bien, sin verlo, hizo caer sobre él alguna piedra, de que pudo morir, y muriere, y él no era su enemigo, ni procuraba su mal;
23 oder wirft irgend einen Stein auf ihn, davon man sterben mag, und er hat's nicht gesehen, also daß er stirbt, und er ist nicht sein Feind, hat ihm auch kein Übles gewollt,
24 Then let the meeting of the people be judge between the man responsible for the death and him who has the right of punishment for blood, acting by these rules:
24 voici les lois d'après lesquelles l'assemblée jugera entre celui qui a frappé et le vengeur du sang.
24 ansin ní foláir don chomhthionól breith a thabhairt de réir na rialacha seo idir an té a rinne an marú agus an díoltach fola,
24 Entonces la congregación juzgará entre el heridor y el pariente del muerto conforme á estas leyes:
24 so soll die Gemeinde richten zwischen dem, der geschlagen hat, und dem Rächer des Bluts nach diesen Rechten.
25 And let the people keep the man responsible for the death safe from the hands of him who has the right of punishment for blood, and send him back to his safe town where he had gone in flight: there let him be till the death of the high priest who was marked with the holy oil.
25 L'assemblée délivrera le meurtrier de la main du vengeur du sang, et le fera retourner dans la ville de refuge où il s'était enfui. Il y demeurera jusqu'à la mort du souverain sacrificateur qu'on a oint de l'huile sainte.
25 agus an marfóir a shaoradh ar an gcuma sin ó láimh an díoltach fola. Cuirfidh an comhthionól ar ais é go dtí an chathair thearmainn mar ar theith sé; fanadh sé ansiúd go bhfaighe an t‑ardsagart a ungadh leis an ola choisricthe bás.
25 Y la congregación librará al homicida de mano del pariente del muerto, y la congregación lo hará volver á su ciudad de acogimiento, á la cual se había acogido; y morará en ella hasta que muera el gran sacerdote, el cual fué ungido con el aceite santo.
25 Und die Gemeinde soll den Totschläger erretten von der Hand des Bluträchers und soll ihn wiederkommen lassen zu der Freistadt, dahin er geflohen war; und er soll daselbst bleiben, bis daß der Hohepriester sterbe, den man mit dem heiligen Öl gesalbt hat.
26 But if ever he goes outside the walls of the safe town where he had gone in flight,
26 Si le meurtrier sort du territoire de la ville de refuge où il s'est enfui,
26 Má théann an marfóir aon uair thar teorainneacha na cathrach tearmainn dár theith sé,
26 Y si el homicida saliere fuera del término de su ciudad de refugio, á la cual se acogió,
26 Wird aber der Totschläger aus seiner Freistadt Grenze gehen, dahin er geflohen ist,
27 And the giver of punishment, meeting him outside the walls of the town, puts him to death, he will not be responsible for his blood:
27 et si le vengeur du sang le rencontre hors du territoire de la ville de refuge et qu'il tue le meurtrier, il ne sera point coupable de meurtre.
27 agus go bhfaigheann an díoltach fola greim air lasmuigh de theorainneacha a chathrach tearmainn, ní cás don díoltach é a mharú gan cion a fhola air.
27 Y el pariente del muerto le hayare fuera del término de la ciudad de su acogida, y el pariente del muerto al homicida matare, no se le culpará por ello:
27 und der Bluträcher findet ihn außerhalb der Grenze seiner Freistadt und schlägt ihn tot, so soll er des Bluts nicht schuldig sein.
28 Because he had been ordered to keep inside the safe town till the death of the high priest: but after the death of the high priest the taker of life may come back to the place of his heritage.
28 Car le meurtrier doit demeurer dans sa ville de refuge jusqu'à la mort du souverain sacrificateur; et après la mort du souverain sacrificateur, il pourra retourner dans sa propriété.
28 Óir ní foláir don mharfóir fanacht ina chathair thearmainn go bhfaighe an t‑ardsagart bás; tar éis bhás an ardsagairt tá cead ag an marfóir filleadh ar an áit ina bhfuil a mhaoin.
28 Pues en su ciudad de refugio deberá aquél habitar hasta que muera el gran sacerdote: y después que muriere el gran sacerdote, el homicida volverá á la tierra de su posesión.
28 Denn er sollte in seiner Freistadt bleiben bis an den Tod des Hohenpriesters, und nach des Hohenpriesters Tod wieder zum Lande seines Erbguts kommen.
29 These rules are to be your guide in judging through all your generations wherever you may be living.
29 Voici des ordonnances de droit pour vous et pour vos descendants, dans tous les lieux où vous habiterez.
29 Bíodh feidhm dlí agus reachta ag na treoracha sin agaibhse agus ag bhur sliocht cibé áit ina mbíonn cónaí oraibh,
29 Y estas cosas os serán por ordenanza de derecho por vuestras edades, en todas vuestras habitaciones.
29 Das soll euch ein Recht sein bei euren Nachkommen, überall, wo ihr wohnt.
30 Anyone causing the death of another is himself to be put to death on the word of witnesses: but the word of one witness is not enough.
30 Si un homme tue quelqu'un, on ôtera la vie au meurtrier, sur la déposition de témoins. Un seul témoin ne suffira pas pour faire condamner une personne à mort.
30 i gcás gach marú is ar fhianaise finnéithe nach foláir an marfóir a chur chun báis; ní chuirfear aon duine chun báis ar fhianaise duine aonair.
30 Cualquiera que hiriere á alguno, por dicho de testigos, morirá el homicida: mas un solo testigo no hará fé contra alguna persona para que muera.
30 Den Totschläger soll man töten nach dem Mund zweier Zeugen. Ein Zeuge soll nicht aussagen über eine Seele zum Tode.
31 Further, no price may be given for the life of one who has taken life and whose right reward is death: he is certainly to be put to death.
31 Vous n'accepterez point de rançon pour la vie d'un meurtrier qui mérite la mort, car il sera puni de mort.
31 Ná glacaigí éiric ar son anam marfóra a daoradh chun báis; ní foláir é a chur chun báis.
31 Y no tomaréis precio por la vida del homicida; porque está condenado á muerte: mas indefectiblemente morirá.
31 Und ihr sollt keine Versühnung nehmen für die Seele eines Totschlägers; denn er ist des Todes schuldig, und er soll des Todes sterben.
32 And no price may be offered for one who has gone in flight to a safe town, for the purpose of letting him come back to his place before the death of the high priest.
32 Vous n'accepterez point de rançon, qui lui permette de s'enfuir dans sa ville de refuge, et de retourner habiter dans le pays après la mort du sacrificateur.
32 Agus ná glacaigí éiric ar son duine a theith chun cathrach tearmainn ach ar mian leis filleadh agus maireachtáil sa bhaile roimh bhás don ardsagart.
32 Ni tampoco tomaréis precio del que huyó á su ciudad de refugio, para que vuelva á vivir en su tierra, hasta que muera el sacerdote.
32 Und sollt keine Versühnung nehmen für den, der zur Freistadt geflohen ist, daß er wiederkomme, zu wohnen im Lande, bis der Priester sterbe.
33 So do not make the land where you are living unholy: for blood makes the land unholy: and there is no way of making the land free from the blood which has come on it, but only by the death of him who was the cause of it.
33 Vous ne souillerez point le pays où vous serez, car le sang souille le pays; et il ne sera fait pour le pays aucune expiation du sang qui y sera répandu que par le sang de celui qui l'aura répandu.
33 Ná truailligí an talamh ina gcónaíonn sibh. Truaillíonn fuil an talamh agus níl leorghníomh ann don talamh ar son na fola a dhoirtear ann ach fuil an té a dhoirt é.
33 Y no contaminaréis la tierra donde estuviereis: porque esta sangre amancillará la tierra: y la tierra no será expiada de la sangre que fué derramada en ella, sino por la sangre del que la derramó.
33 Und schändet das Land nicht, darin ihr wohnet; denn wer blutschuldig ist, der schändet das Land, und das Land kann vom Blut nicht versöhnt werden, das darin vergossen wird, außer durch das Blut des, der es vergossen hat.
34 Do not make unclean the land where you are living and in which is my House: for I the Lord am present among the children of Israel.
