1 Now when Balaam saw that it was the Lord's pleasure to give his blessing to Israel, he did not, as at other times, make use of secret arts, but turning his face to the waste land,
1 Balaam vit que l'Éternel trouvait bon de bénir Israël, et il n'alla point comme les autres fois, à la rencontre des enchantements; mais il tourna son visage du côté du désert.
1 Nuair a chonaic Balám gur thoil leis an Tiarna beannacht a chur ar Iosrael, níor imigh sé, faoi mar a rinne roimhe sin, ar thóir tuartha, ach thug a aghaidh ar an bhfásach.
1 Y Como vió Balaam que parecía bien á Jehová que el bendijese á Israel, no fué, como la primera y segunda vez, á encuentro de agüeros, sino que puso su rostro hacia el desierto;
1 Da nun Bileam sah, daß es dem HERRN gefiel, daß er Israel segnete, ging er nicht aus, wie vormals, nach Zauberei, sondern richtete sein Angesicht stracks zu der Wüste,
2 And lifting up his eyes, he saw Israel there, with their tents in the order of their tribes: and the spirit of God came on him.
2 Balaam leva les yeux, et vit Israël campé selon ses tribus. Alors l'esprit de Dieu fut sur lui.
2 D'ardaigh Balám a shúile agus chonaic Iosrael suite ina gcampa, treibh ar threibh. Luigh spiorad Dé air
2 Y alzando sus ojos, vió á Israel alojado por sus tribus; y el espíritu de Dios vino sobre él.
2 hob seine Augen auf und sah Israel, wie sie lagen nach ihren Stämmen. Und der Geist Gottes kam auf ihn,
3 And moved by the spirit, he said, These are the words of Balaam, son of Beor, the words of the man whose eyes are open:
3 Balaam prononça son oracle, et dit: Parole de Balaam, fils de Beor, Parole de l'homme qui a l'oeil ouvert,
3 agus chan sé a laoi, agus dúirt: “Céalmhaine Bhalám mac Bheór, céalmhaine an té ar gruama é a radharc,
3 Entonces tomó su parábola, y dijo: Dijo Balaam hijo de Beor, Y dijo el varón de ojos abiertos:
3 und er hob an seinen Spruch und sprach: Es sagt Bileam, der Sohn Beors, es sagt der Mann, dem die Augen geöffnet sind,
4 He says, whose ears are open to the words of God, who has seen the vision of the Ruler of all, falling down, but having his eyes open:
4 Parole de celui qui entend les paroles de Dieu, De celui qui voit la vision du Tout Puissant, De celui qui se prosterne et dont les yeux s'ouvrent.
4 céalmhaine an té a chluineann briathar Dé. Feiceann sé a dtugann an tUilechumhachtach dó le feiceáil; faigheann sé freagra ó Dhia, agus osclaítear a shúile.
4 Dijo el que oyó los dichos de Dios, El que vió la visión del Omnipotente; Caído, mas abiertos los ojos:
4 es sagt der Hörer göttlicher Rede, der des Allmächtigen Offenbarung sieht, dem die Augen geöffnet werden, wenn er niederkniet:
5 How fair are your tents, O Jacob, your houses, O Israel!
5 Qu'elles sont belles, tes tentes, ô Jacob! Tes demeures, ô Israël!
5 Nach álainn iad do bhothanna, a Iacóib! nach álainn iad d'áitribh, a Iosrael.
5 ¡Cuán hermosas son tus tiendas, oh Jacob, Tus habitaciones, oh Israel!
5 Wie fein sind deine Hütten, Jakob, und deine Wohnungen, Israel!
6 They are stretched out like valleys, like gardens by the riverside, like flowering trees planted by the Lord, like cedar-trees by the waters.
6 Elles s'étendent comme des vallées, Comme des jardins près d'un fleuve, Comme des aloès que l'Éternel a plantés, Comme des cèdres le long des eaux.
6 Is cuma iad nó gleannta a shíneann i gcéin, nó luibhghoirt ar insí abhann, nó crainn aló a chlannaigh an Tiarna, nó crainn chéadrais láimh leis na huiscí!
6 Como arroyos están extendidas, Como huertos junto al río, Como lináloes plantados por Jehová, Como cedros junto á las aguas.
6 Wie die Täler, die sich ausbreiten, wie die Gärten an den Wassern, wie die Aloebäume, die der HERR pflanzt, wie die Zedern an den Wassern.
7 Peoples will be in fear before his strength, his arm will be on great nations: his king will be higher than Agag, and his kingdom made great in honour.
7 L'eau coule de ses seaux, Et sa semence est fécondée par d'abondantes eaux. Son roi s'élève au-dessus d'Agag, Et son royaume devient puissant.
7 [Tá laoch ag eascar as a síol agus ag rialú ar chiníocha gan áireamh.] Is mó ná Agag a rí, agus uaisleofar a mhórgacht.
7 De sus manos destilarán aguas, Y su simiente será en muchas aguas: Y ensalzarse ha su rey más que Agag, Y su reino será ensalzado.
7 Es wird Wasser aus seinem Eimer fließen, und sein Same wird ein großes Wasser werden; sein König wird höher werden denn Agag, und sein Reich wird sich erheben.
8 It is God who has taken him out of Egypt; his horns are like those of the mountain ox; the nations warring against him will be his food, their bones will be broken, they will be wounded with his arrows.
8 Dieu l'a fait sortir d'Égypte, Il est pour lui comme la vigueur du buffle. Il dévore les nations qui s'élèvent contre lui, Il brise leurs os, et les abat de ses flèches.
8 Tugann Dia as an Éigipt amach é; is cuma dó é nó adharca cama dhamh díleann. Alpann sé conablach a naimhde, agus déanann sé mionramh dá gcnámha agus tollann iad lena shaigheada.
8 Dios lo sacó de Egipto; Tiene fuerzas como de unicornio: Comerá á las gentes sus enemigas, Y desmenuzará sus huesos, Y asaeteará con sus saetas.
8 Gott hat ihn aus Ägypten geführt; seine Freudigkeit ist wie eines Einhorns. Er wird die Heiden, seine Verfolger, fressen und ihre Gebeine zermalmen und mit seinen Pfeilen zerschmettern.
9 He took his sleep stretched out like a lion, and like a she-lion: by whom will his rest be broken? May a blessing be on everyone who gives you blessing, and a curse on everyone by whom you are cursed.
9 Il ploie les genoux, il se couche comme un lion, comme une lionne: Qui le fera lever? Béni soit quiconque te bénira, Et maudit soit quiconque te maudira!
9 Chúb sé chuige, agus luigh, mar leon, mar bhanleon. Cé leomhfadh é chur ina shuí? Gura beannaithe lucht bhur mbeannaithe; gura mallaithe lucht bhur mallaithe.”
9 Se encorvará para echarse como león, Y como leona; ¿quién lo despertará? Benditos los que te bendijeren, Y malditos los que te maldijeren.
9 Er hat sich niedergelegt wie ein Löwe und wie ein junger Löwe; wer will sich gegen ihn auflehnen? Gesegnet sei, der dich segnet, und verflucht, der dir flucht!
10 Then Balak was full of wrath against Balaam, and angrily waving his hands he said to Balaam, I sent for you so that those who are against me might be cursed, but now, see, three times you have given them a blessing.
10 La colère de Balak s'enflamma contre Balaam; il frappa des mains, et dit à Balaam: C'est pour maudire mes ennemis que je t'ai appelé, et voici, tu les as bénis déjà trois fois.
10 Tháinig reacht feirge ar Bhálác le Balám. Bhuail sé a bhosa ar a chéile agus dúirt le Balám: “Chuir mé fios ort chun mallacht a chur ar mo naimhde, agus seo anois beannacht curtha faoi thrí agat orthu!
10 Entonces se encendió la ira de Balac contra Balaam, y batiendo sus palmas le dijo: Para maldecir á mis enemigos te he llamado, y he aquí los has resueltamente bendecido ya tres veces.
10 Da ergrimmte Balak im Zorn wider Bileam und schlug die Hände zusammen und sprach zu ihm: Ich habe dich gefordert, daß du meinen Feinden fluchen solltest; und siehe, du hast sie nun dreimal gesegnet.
11 Go back quickly to the place you came from: it was my purpose to give you a place of honour, but now the Lord has kept you back from honour.
11 Fuis maintenant, va-t'en chez toi! J'avais dit que je te rendrais des honneurs, mais l'Éternel t'empêche de les recevoir.
11 Imigh ort abhaile. Gheall mé onóir a chaitheamh leat go cinnte, ach tá sin bainte díot ag an Tiarna.”
11 Húyete, por tanto, ahora á tu lugar: yo dije que te honraría, mas he aquí que Jehová te ha privado de honra.
11 Und nun hebe dich an deinen Ort! Ich gedachte, ich wollte dich ehren; aber der HERR hat dir die Ehre verwehrt.
12 Then Balaam said to Balak, Did I not say to the men you sent to me,
12 Balaam répondit à Balak: Eh! n'ai-je pas dit aux messagers que tu m'as envoyés:
12 Thug Balám freagra ar Bhálác: “Ná dúirt mé leis na teachtairí a chuir tú chugam:
12 Y Balaam le respondió: ¿No lo declaré yo también á tus mensajeros que me enviaste, diciendo:
12 Bileam antwortete ihm: Habe ich nicht auch zu deinen Boten gesagt, die du zu mir sandtest, und gesprochen:
13 Even if Balak gave me his house full of silver and gold, it would not be possible for me to go outside the orders of the Lord, doing good or evil at the impulse of my mind; whatever the Lord says I will say?
13 Quand Balak me donnerait sa maison pleine d'argent et d'or, je ne pourrais faire de moi-même ni bien ni mal contre l'ordre de l'Éternel; je répéterai ce que dira l'Éternel?
13 ‘Dá dtabharfadh Bálác lán a thí d'ór agus d'airgead dom, ní fhéadfainn briathar an Tiarna a shárú agus rud a dhéanamh as mo stuaim féin, cibé acu maith nó olc é; a ndeir an Tiarna, sin é a déarfaidh mé.’
13 Si Balac me diése su casa llena de plata y oro, yo no podré traspasar el dicho de Jehová para hacer cosa buena ni mala de mi arbitrio; mas lo que Jehová hablare, eso diré yo?
13 Wenn mir Balak sein Haus voll Silber und Gold gäbe, so könnte ich doch an des HERRN Wort nicht vorüber, Böses oder Gutes zu tun nach meinem Herzen; sondern was der HERR reden würde, das würde ich auch reden?
14 So now I will go back to my people: but first let me make clear to you what this people will do to your people in days to come.
14 Et maintenant voici, je m'en vais vers mon peuple. Viens, je t'annoncerai ce que ce peuple fera à ton peuple dans la suite des temps.
14 Anois ó táim ag filleadh ar mo mhuintir féin, lig dom rabhadh a thabhairt duit faoi cad a dhéanfaidh an mhuintir seo le do mhuintirse anseo amach.”
14 He aquí yo me voy ahora á mi pueblo: por tanto, ven, te indicaré lo que este pueblo ha de hacer á tu pueblo en los postrimeros días.
14 Und nun siehe, ich ziehe zu meinem Volk. So komm, ich will dir verkündigen, was dies Volk deinem Volk tun wird zur letzten Zeit.
15 Then he went on with his story and said, These are the words of Balaam, the son of Beor, the words of him whose eyes are open:
15 Balaam prononça son oracle, et dit: Parole de Balaam, fils de Beor, Parole de l'homme qui a l'oeil ouvert,
15 Ansin chan sé a laoi, agus dúirt: “Céalmhaine Bhalám mac Bheór, céalmhaine an té ar gruama é a radharc,

15 Und er hob an seinen Spruch und sprach: es sagt Bileam, der Sohn Beors, es sagt der Mann, dem die Augen geöffnet sind,
16 He says, whose ear is open to the words of God, who has knowledge of the Most High, who has seen the vision of the Ruler of all, falling down and having his eyes open:
16 Parole de celui qui entend les paroles de Dieu, De celui qui connaît les desseins du Très Haut, De celui qui voit la vision du Tout Puissant, De celui qui se prosterne et dont les yeux s'ouvrent.
16 céalmhaine an té a chluineann briathar Dé, agus ar fios dó eolas an Té is Airde. Feiceann sé a dtugann an tUilechumhachtach dó le feiceáil; faigheann sé freagra ó Dhia, agus osclaítear a shúile.
16 Dijo el que oyó los dichos de Jehová, Y el que sabe la ciencia del Altísimo, El que vió la visión del Omnipotente; Caído, mas abiertos los ojos:
16 es sagt der Hörer göttlicher Rede und der die Erkenntnis hat des Höchsten, der die Offenbarung des Allmächtigen sieht und dem die Augen geöffnet werden, wenn er niederkniet.
17 I see him, but not now: looking on him, but not near: a star will come out of Jacob, and a rod of authority out of Israel, sending destruction to the farthest limits of Moab and on the head of all the sons of Sheth.
17 Je le vois, mais non maintenant, Je le contemple, mais non de près. Un astre sort de Jacob, Un sceptre s'élève d'Israël. Il perce les flancs de Moab, Et il abat tous les enfants de Seth.
17 Feicim é - ach ní anois é; faighim radharc air - ach ní láimh liom é: Faigheann réalta ó Iacób an cheannasaíocht; Éiríonn slat ríoga as Iosrael. Bascann sé malaí Mhóáb agus cloigne uile chlann na geona.
17 Verélo, mas no ahora: Lo miraré, mas no de cerca: Saldrá ESTRELLA de Jacob, Y levantaráse cetro de Israel, Y herirá los cantones de Moab, Y destruirá á todos los hijos de Seth.
17 Ich sehe ihn, aber nicht jetzt; ich schaue ihn aber nicht von nahe. Es wird ein Stern aus Jakob aufgehen und ein Zepter aus Israel aufkommen und wird zerschmettern die Fürsten der Moabiter und verstören alle Kinder des Getümmels.
18 Edom will be his heritage, and he will put an end to the last of the people of Seir.
18 Il se rend maître d'Édom, Il se rend maître de Séir, ses ennemis. Israël manifeste sa force.
18 Cuirtear Eadóm as seilbh, agus a naimhde, Saeír, mar an gcéanna, cuirtear as seilbh iad, agus cuireann Iosrael a neart i ngníomh.
18 Y será tomada Edom, Será también tomada Seir por sus enemigos, E Israel se portará varonilmente.
18 Edom wird er einnehmen, und Seir wird seinen Feinden unterworfen sein; Israel aber wird den Sieg haben.
19 And Israel will go on in strength, and Jacob will have rule over his haters.
19 Celui qui sort de Jacob règne en souverain, Il fait périr ceux qui s'échappent des villes.
19 Ceansaíonn Iacób a naimhde, agus scriosann sé na teifigh ó Ár.”
19 Y el de Jacob se enseñoreará, Y destruirá de la ciudad lo que quedare.
19 Aus Jakob wird der Herrscher kommen und umbringen, was übrig ist von den Städten.
20 Then, turning his eyes to Amalek, he went on with his story and said, Amalek was the first of the nations, but his part will be destruction for ever.
20 Balaam vit Amalek. Il prononça son oracle, et dit: Amalek est la première des nations, Mais un jour il sera détruit.
20 Ansin d'fhéach Balám ar Amáiléic agus chan a laoi agus dúirt: “Amáiléic a bhí ar thús na gciníocha, ach dísceofar a shliocht go brách.”
20 Y viendo á Amalec, tomó su parábola, y dijo: Amalec, cabeza de gentes; Mas su postrimería perecerá para siempre.
20 Und da er sah die Amalekiter, hob er an seinen Spruch und sprach: Amalek, die Ersten unter den Heiden; aber zuletzt wirst du gar umkommen.
21 And looking on the Kenites he went on with his story and said, Strong is your living-place, and your secret place is safe in the rock.
21 Balaam vit les Kéniens. Il prononça son oracle, et dit: Ta demeure est solide, Et ton nid posé sur le roc.
21 Ansin d'fhéach sé ar na Céinigh agus chan a laoi, agus dúirt: “Ba dhaingean é do theach, a Cháin, agus do nead suite go hard sa charraig.
21 Y viendo al Cineo, tomó su parábola, y dijo: Fuerte es tu habitación, Pon en la peña tu nido:
21 Und da er die Keniter sah, hob er an seinen Spruch und sprach: Fest ist deine Wohnung, und hast dein Nest in einen Felsen gelegt.
22 But still the Kenites will be wasted, till Asshur takes you away prisoner.
22 Mais le Kénien sera chassé, Quand l'Assyrien t'emmènera captif.
22 Ach is le Beór an nead, agus an fada a bheidh tú sciobtha i do chime ag Aisiúr?”
22 Que el Cineo será echado, Cuando Assur te llevará cautivo.
22 Aber, o Kain, du wirst verbrannt werden, wenn Assur dich gefangen wegführen wird.
23 Then he went on with his story and said, But who may keep his life when God does this?
23 Balaam prononça son oracle, et dit: Hélas! qui vivra après que Dieu l'aura établi?
23 [Ansin d'fhéach sé ar Óg] agus chan sé a laoi agus dúirt: “Tá lucht na farraige ag tóstal lastuaidh,
23 Todavía tomó su parábola, y dijo: ¡Ay! ¿quién vivirá cuando hiciere Dios estas cosas?
23 Und er hob abermals an seinen Spruch und sprach: Ach, wer wird leben, wenn Gott solches tun wird?
24 But ships will come from the direction of Kittim, troubling Asshur and troubling Eber, and like the others their fate will be destruction.
24 Mais des navires viendront de Kittim, Ils humilieront l'Assyrien, ils humilieront l'Hébreu; Et lui aussi sera détruit.
24 longa ó chóstaí Chitím. Cránn siad Aisiúr, cránn siad Éibir. Déanfar eisean chomh maith a dhísciú go brách.”
24 Y vendrán navíos de la costa de Cittim, Y afligirán á Assur, afligirán también á Eber: Mas él también perecerá para siempre.
24 Und Schiffe aus Chittim werden verderben den Assur und Eber; er aber wird auch umkommen.
25 Then Balaam got up and went back to his place: and Balak went away.
25 Balaam se leva, partit, et retourna chez lui. Balak s'en alla aussi de son côté.
