Numbers 15

1 Now Korah, the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, with Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, and On, the son of Pallu, the son of Reuben, made themselves ready,

1 Corach mac Izeár, mac Chohát, mac Léiví, agus Dátán agus Aibíorám mic Eilíáb agus Ón mac Pheilit - mic le Reúbaen a ba ea Eilíáb agus Peilit -

1 Und Korah, der Sohn Jizhars, des Sohnes Kahaths, des Sohnes Levis, samt Dathan und Abiram, den Söhnen Eliabs, und On, dem Sohn Peleths, den Söhnen Rubens,

2 And came before Moses, with certain of the children of Israel, two hundred and fifty chiefs of the people, men of good name who had a place in the meeting of the people.

2 Y levantáronse contra Moisés con doscientos y cincuenta varones de los hijos de Israel, príncipes de la congregación, de los del consejo, varones de nombre;

3 They came together against Moses and against Aaron, and said to them, You take overmuch on yourselves, seeing that all the people are holy, every one of them, and the Lord is among them; why then have you put yourselves in authority over the people of the Lord?

3 Chruinníodar seo le chéile in aghaidh Mhaois agus Árón agus dúradar leo: “Tá sibh dulta thar fóir! Tá an comhthionól go léir coisricthe, gach duine riamh díobh, agus maireann an Tiarna ina gcoimhdeacht. Cad ab áil libh dá bhrí sin do bhur gcur féin os cionn chomhthionól an Tiarna?”

4 And Moses, hearing this, went down on his face;

4 Arna chlos sin do Mhaois chaith sé é féin ar a bhéal agus ar a fhiacla

4 Y como lo oyó Moisés, echóse sobre su rostro;

5 And he said to Korah and his band, In the morning the Lord will make clear who are his, and who is holy, and who may come near him: the man of his selection will be caused to come near him.

5 agus dúirt le Corach agus lena lucht leanúna go léir: “Ar maidin amárach, nochtfaidh an Tiarna cé is leis, agus cé hé an duine coisricthe a scaoilfidh sé ina chóngar. An té a scaoilfidh sé ina chóngar, sin é an té a thogh sé.

6 So do this: let Korah and all his band take vessels for burning perfumes;

6 Faites ceci.

6 Sé seo atá le déanamh agaibh: tógaigí túiseoirí Chorach agus a lucht leanúna go léir;

7 And put spices on the fire in them before the Lord tomorrow; then the man marked out by the Lord will be holy: you take overmuch on yourselves, you sons of Levi.

7 cuirigí tine iontu agus cuirigí túis iontu i láthair an Tiarna amárach. Sé an té atá coisricthe a thoghfaidh an Tiarna. Tá sibh dulta thar fóir, a mhaca Léiví.”

8 And Moses said to Korah, Give ear now, you sons of Levi:

9 Does it seem only a small thing to you that the God of Israel has made you separate from the rest of Israel, letting you come near himself to do the work of the House of the Lord, and to take your place before the people to do what has to be done for them;

9 An beag libh é go ndearna Dia Iosrael sibh a dheighilt ó chomhthionól Iosrael do bhur mbreith ina chomharsanacht féin, le seirbhís a dhéanamh i dtaibearnacal an Tiarna, agus le seasamh os comhair an chomhthionóil seo ag comhlíonadh na ngnásanna ar a son?

10 Letting you, and all your brothers the sons of Levi, come near to him? and would you now be priests?

10 Ghlaoigh sé ort le bheith taobh leis, tú féin agus do chomhbhráithre, clann Léiví, in éineacht leat, agus seo thú anois ag tnúth leis an tsagartacht chomh maith.

11 So you and all your band have come together against the Lord; and Aaron, who is he, that you are crying out against him?

11 Uime sin is in aghaidh an Tiarna féin a rinne tú féin agus do lucht leanúna go léir an tóstal; cad é Árón go ndéanfadh sibh monabhar ina aghaidh?”

12 Then Moses sent for Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab: and they said, We will not come up:

13 Is it not enough that you have taken us from a land flowing with milk and honey, to put us to death in the waste land, but now you are desiring to make yourself a chief over us?

13 Nár leor sinn a thabhairt ó thír ina raibh bainne agus mil ina slaoda le bás a fháil san fhásach seo, agus gan a bheith ag iarraidh bheith i do thiarna orainn anois?

14 And more than this, you have not taken us into a land flowing with milk and honey, or given us a heritage of fields and vine-gardens: will you put out the eyes of these men? We will not come up.

14 Agus tharais sin, níor thug tú sinn isteach in aon tír ina bhfuil bainne agus mil ina slaoda ann, ná níor bhronn tú aon tailte ná fíonghoirt mar oidhreacht orainn. An amhlaidh is dóigh leat gur dall atá na daoine seo?

No subiremos.

15 Then Moses was very angry, and said to the Lord, Give no attention to their offering: not one of their asses have I taken, or done wrong to any of them.

15 Tháinig fraoch feirge ar Mhaois agus dúirt sé leis an Tiarna: “Ná tabhair aon aird ar a n‑ofráil.

16 And Moses said to Korah, You and all your band are to come before the Lord tomorrow, you and they and Aaron:

16 Dúirt Maois le Corach: “Tar féin agus do lucht leanúna go léir os comhair an Tiarna amárach - tusa agus iadsan agus Árón chomh maith.

17 And let every man take a vessel for burning perfumes, and put sweet spices in them; let every man take his vessel before the Lord, two hundred and fifty vessels; you and Aaron and everyone with his vessel.

17 Tugadh gach duine agaibh a thúiseoir leis, cuireadh sé túis ann, agus beireadh sé a thúiseoir i láthair an Tiarna - dhá chéad caoga túiseoir; tú féin agus Árón chomh maith, beireadh gach duine agaibh a thúiseoir leis.”

18 So every man took his vessel and they put fire in them, with spices, and came to the door of the Tent of meeting with Moses and Aaron.

18 Thóg gach fear a thúiseoir más ea, chuir tine ann, agus chuir túis ar an tine. Bhíodar ina seasamh ag doras Bhoth na Teagmhála agus Maois agus Árón in éineacht leo.

19 And Korah made all the people come together against them to the door of the Tent of meeting: and the glory of the Lord was seen by all the people.

19 Ansin nuair a bhí an comhthionól go léir cruinnithe ag Corach in aghaidh na beirte ag doras Bhoth na Teagmhála, foilsíodh glóir an Tiarna don chomhthionól go léir.

20 And the Lord said to Moses and Aaron,

20 Et l'Éternel parla à Moïse et à Aaron, et dit:

20 Dúirt an Tiarna le Maois agus le hÁrón:

21 Come out from among this people, so that I may send sudden destruction on them.

21 “Scaraigí ón bpobal seo, mar go bhfuilimse chun iad a scrios ar an toirt.”

22 Then falling down on their faces they said, O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, because of one man's sin will your wrath be moved against all the people?

22 Ach chaitheadarsan iad féin ar an mbéal agus ar a bhfiacla, agus dúradar: “A Dhia, a Dhia na spiorad a chuireann anam i ngach feoil, an mbeidh fearg ort leis an gcomhthionól uile de bharr peaca aon duine amháin?”

23 And the Lord said to Moses,

23 L'Éternel parla à Moïse, et dit:

23 D'fhreagair an Tiarna:

24 Say to the people, Come away from the tent of Korah Dathan, and Abiram.

24 “Abair é seo,” ar sé, “leis an gcomhthionól: ‘Druidigí glan amach ó chóngar áitreabh Chorach [agus Dhátán agus Aibíorám].’ ”

25 So Moses got up and went to Dathan and Abiram, and the responsible men of Israel went with him.

25 D'éirigh Maois ina sheasamh ansin agus chuaigh go Dátán agus Aibíorám, agus lean seanóirí Iosrael é.

26 And he said to the people, Come away now from the tents of these evil men, without touching anything of theirs, or you may be taken in the punishment of their sins.

26 Dúirt sé leis an gcomhthionól: “Druidigí amach, impím oraibh, ó bhothanna na bhfear claon seo, agus ná bainigí le haon ní is leo le heagla go scuabfaí sibhse leis chun siúil lena bpeacaí go léir.”

27 So on every side they went away from the tent of Korah Dathan, and Abiram: and Dathan and Abiram came out to the door of their tents, with their wives and their sons and their little ones.

Bhí Dátán agus Aibíorám tagtha amach agus iad ina seasamh i mbéal a mbothanna, agus a mná agus a mic agus a leanaí beaga in éineacht leo.

28 And Moses said, Now you will see that the Lord has sent me to do all these works, and I have not done them of myself.

28 Labhair Maois: “Leis seo,” ar sé, “beidh a fhios agaibh gur sheol an Tiarna féin mé chun na hoibreacha seo a dhéanamh, agus nach de mo rogha féin é:

29 If these men have the common death of men, or if the natural fate of all men overtakes them, then the Lord has not sent me.

29 Si ces gens meurent comme tous les hommes meurent, s'ils subissent le sort commun à tous les hommes, ce n'est pas l'Éternel qui m'a envoyé;

29 werden sie sterben, wie alle Menschen sterben, oder heimgesucht, wie alle Menschen heimgesucht werden, so hat mich der HERR nicht gesandt;

30 But if the Lord does something new, opening the earth to take them in, with everything which is theirs, and they go down living into the underworld, then it will be clear to you that the Lord has not been honoured by these men.

30 Ach má dhéanann an Tiarna rud éigin nua glan, má osclaíonn an talamh a chraos agus iad a shlogadh, iad féin agus gach a mbaineann leo, i dtreo go dtéann siad síos ina mbeatha go Seól, ansin beidh fhios agaibh gur shéan na fir seo an Tiarna.”

31 And while these words were on his lips, the earth under them was parted in two;

31 Ní raibh ach a dheireadh sin uile ráite aige nuair a scoilt an talamh ar leathadh fúthu,

32 And the earth, opening her mouth, took them in, with their families, and all the men who were joined to Korah, and their goods.

32 d'oscail an talamh a chraos agus shlog sé iad, agus líon a dtithe mar aon leo, agus lucht Chorach, agus a sealúchas uile.

32 und tat ihren Mund auf und verschlang sie mit ihren Häusern, mit allen Menschen, die bei Korah waren, und mit aller ihrer Habe;

33 So they and all theirs went down living into the underworld, and the earth was shut over them, and they were cut off from among the meeting of the people.

33 Chuadar síos ina mbeatha go Seól, iad féin agus gach ar bhain leo; dhún an talamh orthu agus bhíodar sciobtha ó lár an chomhthionóil.

34 And all Israel round about them went in flight at their cry, For fear, said they, that we go down into the heart of the earth.

34 Theith na hIosraelaigh go léir a bhí ina dtimpeall roimh a liú; óir, a dúradar: “Ná slogadh an talamh sinn!”

35 Then fire came out from the Lord, burning up the two hundred and fifty men who were offering the perfume.

35 Tháinig lasair anuas ón Tiarna agus loisc sé an dá chead caoga fear ag ofráil na túise.

36 And the Lord said to Moses,

36 L'Éternel parla à Moïse, et dit:

36 Ansin labhair an Tiarna le Maois agus dúirt:

37 Say to Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, that he is to take out of the flames the vessels with the perfumes in them, turning the fire out of them, for they are holy;

37 “Abair le Eileázár mac Árón an sagart na túiseoirí a thógáil as an ngríosach agus an tine neamhdhleathach seo a scaipeadh ar fud an bhaill,

37 Sage Eleasar, dem Sohn Aarons, des Priesters, daß er die Pfannen aufhebe aus dem Brand und streue das Feuer hin und her;

38 And let the vessels of those men, who with their lives have made payment for their sin, be hammered out into plates as a cover for the altar; for they have been offered before the Lord and are holy; so that they may be a sign to the children of Israel.

38 óir tá túiseoirí seo na bpeacach coisricthe in éiric a n‑anamacha. Ós rud é gur ofráladar os comhair an Tiarna iad agus gur coisriceadh iad, déantar an miotal iontu a bhualadh amach ina bhileoga mar chumhdach don altóir. Beidh siad ansin ina sampla do chlann Iosrael.”

39 So Eleazar the priest took the brass vessels which had been offered by those who were burned up, and they were hammered out to make a cover for the altar:

39 Thóg Eileázár an sagart na túiseoirí cré-umha a d'iompar an dream a loisceadh, agus buaileadh amach ina mbileoga iad mar chumhdach don altóir,

40 To be a sign, kept in memory for ever by the children of Israel, that no man who is not of the seed of Aaron has the right of burning spices before the Lord, so that he may not be like Korah and his band: as the Lord said to him by the mouth of Moses.

40 lé bheith ina sampla do chlann Iosrael á chur i gcuimhne dóibh nach ceadmhach d'aon duine nach sagart agus nach de shíol Árón, teacht i ngaobhar an Tiarna le túis a dhó, le heagla gurb é dála Chorach agus a chomplachta ba chríoch dó, faoi mar a dúirt an Tiarna le hEileázár trí bhéal Mhaois.

41 But on the day after, all the children of Israel made an outcry against Moses and against Aaron, saying, You have put to death the Lord's people.

41 Lá arna mhárach bhí comhthionól uile chlann Iosrael ag monabhar in aghaidh Mhaois agus in aghaidh Árón, á rá: “Tá an bás tugtha agat sa mhullach ar phobal an Tiarna!”

42 Now when the people had come together against Moses and Aaron, looking in the direction of the Tent of meeting, they saw the cloud covering it, and the glory of the Lord came before their eyes.

42 Agus an comhthionól go léir ag cruinniú le chéile in aghaidh Mhaois agus Árón, d'fhéachadarsan i dtreo Bhoth na Teagmhála, agus b'shiud é an néal á chlúdach agus glóir an Tiarna á thaispeáint.

43 Then Moses and Aaron came to the front of the Tent of meeting.

43 Chuaigh Maois agus Árón go doras Bhoth na Teagmhála,

44 And the Lord said to Moses,

44 Et l'Éternel parla à Moïse, et dit:

44 agus labhair an Tiarna le Maois:

45 Come out from among this people, so that I may send sudden destruction on them. And they went down on their faces.

45 Retirez-vous du milieu de cette assemblée, et je les consumerai en un instant. Ils tombèrent sur leur visage;

45 “Druid glan amach ón gcomhthionól seo; táim ar tí iad a scrios ar an toirt.” Agus chaitheadar iad féin ar a mbéal agus ar a bhfiacla.

46 And Moses said to Aaron, Take your vessel and put in it fire from the altar, and sweet spices, and take it quickly into the meeting of the people, and make them free from sin: for wrath has gone out from the Lord, and the disease is starting.

46 Ansin dúirt Maois le hÁrón: “Tóg do thúiseoir, cuir tine ón altóir ann, agus leag túis air, agus brostaigh leis go dtí an comhthionól chun gnás an leorghnímh a chomhlíonadh dóibh; óir tá fraoch na feirge sceite anuas ón Tiarna agus tá an phlá sa siúl.”

47 And at the words of Moses, Aaron took his vessel, and went running among the people; and even then the disease had made a start among them; and he put spices in his vessel to take away the sin of the people.

47 Rinne Árón rud ar Mhaois, agus rith faoin gcomhthionól, agus féach bhí an phlá sa siúl ina measc. Chuir sé an túis isteach agus chomhlíon sé gnás an leorghnímh ar son an phobail.

48 And he took his place between the dead and the living: and the disease was stopped.

48 Ansin sheas sé idir na beo agus na mairbh, agus stad an phlá.

49 Now fourteen thousand, seven hundred deaths were caused by that disease, in addition to those who came to their end because of what Korah had done.

50 Then Aaron went back to Moses to the door of the Tent of meeting: and the disease came to a stop.

50 Agus d'fhill Árón ar Mhaois ag doras Bhoth na Teagmhála; bhí an phlá thart.
