Exodus 7

1 And this is what the Lord said to Moses: Go to Pharaoh and say to him, The Lord says, Let my people go so that they may give me worship.

1 (7:26) L'Éternel dit à Moïse: Va vers Pharaon, et tu lui diras: Ainsi parle l'Éternel: Laisse aller mon peuple, afin qu'il me serve.

1 Ansin labhair an Tiarna le Maois: “Imigh isteach go Forann agus abair leis mar seo: ‘Mar seo a deir an Tiarna: Lig do mo phobal imeacht i dtreo go ndéanfaidh siad íobairt dom.

2 And if you will not let them go, see, I will send frogs into every part of your land:

2 Ach má dhiúltaíonn tú ligean dóibh imeacht, féach cuirfidh mé brat froganna mar phlá ar do chríocha go léir.

2 Wo du dich weigerst, siehe, so will ich all dein Gebiet mit Fröschen plagen,

3 The Nile will be full of frogs, and they will come up into your house and into your bedrooms and on your bed, and into the houses of your servants and your people, and into your ovens and into your bread-basins.

3 Beidh an Níl ar snámh le froganna; tiocfaidh siad suas isteach i do theach agus i do sheomra leapa agus i dtithe do shearbhóntaí agus do mhuintire, isteach i do oighinn agus i do losaidí.

3 daß der Strom soll von Fröschen wimmeln; die sollen heraufkriechen und kommen in dein Haus, in deine Schlafkammer, auch in die Häuser deiner Knechte, unter dein Volk, in deine Backöfen und in deine Teige;

4 The frogs will come up over you and your people and all your servants.

4 Siúlfaidh siad aníos ort féin agus ar do mhuintir, ar do shearbhóntaí go léir.’ ”

5 And the Lord said to Moses, Say to Aaron, Let the rod in your hand be stretched out over the streams and the waterways and the pools, causing frogs to come up on the land of Egypt.

5 Dúirt an Tiarna le Maois: “Abair le hÁrón: ‘Sín amach do lámh agus an tslat inti os cionn na n‑aibhneacha, os cionn na gcanálacha agus os cionn na linnte agus tabhair froganna thar chríocha na hÉigipte.’ ”

6 And when Aaron put out his hand over the waters of Egypt, the frogs came up and all the land of Egypt was covered with them.

7 And the wonder-workers did the same with their secret arts, making frogs come up over the land of Egypt.

7 Ach rinne na draíodóirí mar an gcéanna le barr draíochta agus thugadar froganna ar thalamh na hÉigipte.

8 Then Pharaoh sent for Moses and Aaron and said, Make prayer to the Lord that he will take away these frogs from me and my people; and I will let the people go and make their offering to the Lord.

8 Ansin ghlaoigh Forann ar Mhaois agus ar Árón agus dúirt: “Iarraigí ar an Tiarna na froganna a thógáil díomsa agus de mo mhuintir agus ligfidh mise don phobal dul agus íobairt a dhéanamh don Tiarna.”

9 And Moses said, I will let you have the honour of saying when I am to make prayer for you and your servants and your people, that the frogs may be sent away from you and your houses, and be only in the Nile.

9 Dúirt Maois le Forann: “Bíodh an chaoi seo agat chun breith amuigh orm! Nuair a ghuífidh mé ar do shonsa agus ar son do shearbhóntaí agus ar son do phobail cén uair atá le socrú agam chun na froganna a imeacht uaitse agus ó do phobal agus ó do thithe agus iad a fhagáil sa Níl amháin?”

10 And he said, By tomorrow. And he said, Let it be as you say: so that you may see that there is no other like the Lord our God.

“Bíodh mar a deir tú,” arsa Maois, “i dtreo go mbeadh a fhios agat nach bhfuil aon neach mar an Tiarna ar nDia.

11 And the frogs will be gone from you and from your houses and from your servants and from your people and will be only in the Nile.

12 Then Moses and Aaron went out from Pharaoh; and Moses made prayer to the Lord about the frogs which he had sent on Pharaoh.

12 Ghabh Maois agus Árón amach ó láthair Fhorainn agus rinne Maois achainí chun an Tiarna i dtaobh na bhfroganna a sheol sé sa mhullach ar Fhorann.

13 And the Lord did as Moses said; and there was an end of all the frogs in the houses and in the open spaces and in the fields.

13 Rinne an Tiarna de réir mar d'iarr Maois; cailleadh na froganna sna tithe, sna clóis, agus sna machairí.

14 And they put them together in masses, and a bad smell went up from the land.

14 Bailíodh le chéile ina gcruacha iad agus bhí an talamh bréan acu.

15 But when Pharaoh saw that there was peace for a time, he made his heart hard and did not give ear to them, as the Lord had said.

15 Ach a luaithe a tuigeadh d'Fhorann go raibh cairde faighte aige, chruaigh sé a chroí agus, mar a dúirt an Tiarna, ní thabharfadh sé cluas dóibh. An Tríú Plá

16 And the Lord said to Moses, Say to Aaron, Let your rod be stretched out over the dust of the earth so that it may become insects through all the land of Egypt.

16 Ansin dúirt an Tiarna le Maois: “Abair le hÁrón: ‘Sín amach do shlat os cionn luaithreach na talún i dtreo go ndéanfar corrmhíola de ar fud chríocha na hÉigipte go léir.’ ”

17 And they did so; and Aaron, stretching out the rod in his hand, gave a touch to the dust of the earth, and insects came on man and on beast; all the dust of the earth was changed into insects through all the land of Egypt.

17 Rinneadar amhlaidh: shín Árón amach a lámh leis an tslait agus bhuail luaithreach na talún agus luigh corrmhíola ar an duine agus ar an mbeithíoch; rinneadh corrmhíola de luaithreach uile na talún ar fud chríocha na hÉigipte go léir.

18 And the wonder-workers with their secret arts, attempting to make insects, were unable to do so: and there were insects on man and on beast.

Tháinig na corrmhíola ar an duine agus ar an mbeithíoch.

19 Then the wonder-workers said to Pharaoh, This is the finger of God: but Pharaoh's heart was hard, and he did not give ear to them, as the Lord had said.

Ach chruaigh croí Fhorainn agus, mar a dúirt an Tiarna, ní thabharfadh sé cluas dóibh. An Ceathrú Plá

20 And the Lord said to Moses, Get up early in the morning and take your place before Pharaoh when he comes out to the water; and say to him, This is what the Lord says: Let my people go to give me worship.

20 Ansin dúirt an Tiarna le Maois: “Éirigh go moch ar maidin agus fan le Forann agus é ag dul amach chun an uisce. Abair leis: ‘Seo mar a deir an Tiarna: Lig do mo phobal imeacht i dtreo go ndéanfaidh siad íobairt dom.

20 Und der HERR sprach zu Mose: Mache dich morgen früh auf und tritt vor Pharao (siehe, er wird ans Wasser gehen) und sprich zu ihm: So sagt der HERR: Laß mein Volk, daß es mir diene;

21 For if you do not let my people go, see, I will send clouds of flies on you and on your servants and on your people and into their houses; and the houses of the Egyptians and the land where they are will be full of flies.

21 Ach mura ligeann tú do mo mhuintir imeacht, cuirfidh mé saithe míoltóg ort féin agus ar do shearbhóntaí agus ar do mhuintir agus isteach i do thithe; agus líonfar tithe na nÉigipteach le saithí míoltóg, agus mar an gcéanna leis an talamh féin ar a bhfuil siad ina seasamh.

22 And at that time I will make a division between your land and the land of Goshen where my people are, and no flies will be there; so that you may see that I am the Lord over all the earth.

22 Ach an lá sin, ní thabharfaidh mé an cor céanna ar thír Ghoisin, mar a bhfuil cónaí ar mo phobal; ní bheidh aon mhíoltóga ann, i dtreo go mbeidh fhios agat go bhfuilimse, an Tiarna, i lár na talún.

22 Und ich will des Tages ein Besonderes tun mit dem Lande Gosen, da sich mein Volk aufhält, daß kein Ungeziefer da sei; auf daß du innewerdest, daß ich der HERR bin auf Erden allenthalben;

23 And I will put a division between my people and your people; tomorrow this sign will be seen.

23 Déanfaidh mé deighilt idir mo phobalsa agus do phobalsa; amárach a tharlóidh an comhartha seo.’ ”

24 And the Lord did so; and great clouds of flies came into the house of Pharaoh and into his servants' houses, and all the land of Egypt was made waste because of the flies.

24 Rinne an Tiarna amhlaidh: tháinig saithí móra míoltóg isteach i dteach Fhorainn agus i dtithe a shearbhóntaí agus, i gcríocha na hÉigipte go léir, scriosadh an talamh leis na míoltóga.

25 And Pharaoh sent for Moses and Aaron and said, Go and make your offering to your God here in the land.

26 And Moses said, It is not right to do so; for we make our offerings of that to which the Egyptians give worship; and if we do so before their eyes, certainly we will be stoned.

26 Ach dúirt Maois: “Níor chóir sin a dhéanamh, mar is ainmhithe is diamhasladh leis na hÉigiptigh a mharú a dhéanfaimidne a íobairt don Tiarna ár nDia.

27 But we will go three days' journey into the waste land and make an offering to the Lord our God as he may give us orders.

27 Caithfimid aistear trí lá a dhéanamh isteach san fhásach chun íobairt a dhéanamh don Tiarna ár nDia mar a d'ordaigh sé dúinn.”

28 Then Pharaoh said, I will let you go to make an offering to the Lord your God in the waste land; but do not go very far away, and make prayer for me.

28 “Ligfidh mé daoibh,” arsa Forann, “dul agus íobairt a dhéanamh don Tiarna bhur nDia san fhásach, ach gan sibh a dhul i bhfad ó bhaile.

29 And Moses said, When I go out from you I will make prayer to the Lord that the cloud of flies may go away from Pharaoh and from his people and from his servants tomorrow: only let Pharaoh no longer by deceit keep back the people from making their offering to the Lord.

29 Ansin dúirt Maois: “Seo mé ar mo shlí amach uait, agus guífidh mé chun an Tiarna go n‑imeoidh na saithí míoltóg ó Fhorann agus óna shearbhóntaí agus óna phobal amárach; ach ná himríodh Forann cealg arís agus gan ligean don phobal dul agus íobairt a dhéanamh don Tiarna.”

30 Then Moses went out from Pharaoh and made prayer to the Lord.

30 D'imigh Maois amach ó láthair Fhorainn agus ghuigh chun an Tiarna.

31 And the Lord did as Moses said, and took away the cloud of flies from Pharaoh and from his servants and from his people; not one was to be seen.

31 Rinne an Tiarna mar a d'iarr Maois agus thóg sé na saithí míoltóg d'Fhorann, agus dá shearbhóntaí agus dá phobal; níor fhan ceann.

32 But again Pharaoh made his heart hard and did not let the people go.

32 Ach chruaigh Forann a chroí an uair seo chomh maith agus níor lig sé don phobal imeacht.

Exodus 9
