1 Now a man of the house of Levi took as his wife a daughter of Levi.
1 Un homme de la maison de Lévi avait pris pour femme une fille de Lévi.

1 Un varón de la familia de Leví fué, y tomó por mujer una hija de Leví:
1 Und es ging ein Mann vom Hause Levi und nahm eine Tochter Levi.
2 And she became with child and gave birth to a Son; and when she saw that he was a beautiful child, she kept him secretly for three months.
2 Cette femme devint enceinte et enfanta un fils. Elle vit qu'il était beau, et elle le cacha pendant trois mois.
2 Ghabh an bhean gin agus rug sí mac, agus nuair a chonaic sí gur bhunóc bhreá é, chuir sí i bhfolach é ar feadh trí mhí.
2 La cual concibió, y parió un hijo: y viéndolo que era hermoso, túvole escondido tres meses.
2 Und das Weib ward schwanger und gebar einen Sohn. Und da sie sah, daß es ein feines Kind war, verbarg sie ihn drei Monate.
3 And when she was no longer able to keep him secret, she made him a basket out of the stems of water-plants, pasting sticky earth over it to keep the water out; and placing the baby in it she put it among the plants by the edge of the Nile.
3 Ne pouvant plus le cacher, elle prit une caisse de jonc, qu'elle enduisit de bitume et de poix; elle y mit l'enfant, et le déposa parmi les roseaux, sur le bord du fleuve.
3 Nuair a chuaigh di é a choimead faoi cheilt a thuilleadh, fuair sí cléibhín paipíre dó agus chuimil sí bitiúman agus pic de, agus chuir an leanbh ann, agus chuir i measc na n‑eileastram ar bhruach na habhann é.
3 Pero no pudiendo ocultarle más tiempo, tomó una arquilla de juncos, y calafateóla con pez y betún, y colocó en ella al niño, y púsolo en un carrizal á la orilla del río:
3 Und da sie ihn nicht länger verbergen konnte, machte sie ein Kästlein von Rohr und verklebte es mit Erdharz und Pech und legte das Kind darein und legte ihn in das Schilf am Ufer des Wassers.
4 And his sister took her place at a distance to see what would become of him.
4 La soeur de l'enfant se tint à quelque distance, pour savoir ce qui lui arriverait.
4 Sheas a dheirfiúr i leataobh tamall féachaint cad a dhéanfaí leis.
4 Y paróse una hermana suya á lo lejos, para ver lo que le acontecería.
4 Aber seine Schwester stand von ferne, daß sie erfahren wollte, wie es ihm gehen würde.
5 Now Pharaoh's daughter came down to the Nile to take a bath, while her women were walking by the riverside; and she saw the basket among the river-plants, and sent her servant-girl to get it.
5 La fille de Pharaon descendit au fleuve pour se baigner, et ses compagnes se promenèrent le long du fleuve. Elle aperçut la caisse au milieu des roseaux, et elle envoya sa servante pour la prendre.
5 Agus tháinig iníon Fhorainn anuas chun í féin a fholcadh san abhainn agus bhí a hionailtí ag spaisteoireacht ar bhruach na habhann. Chonaic sí an cléibhín i measc na n‑eileastram agus chuir sí a hionailt ag triall air.
5 Y la hija de Faraón descendió á lavarse al río, y paseándose sus doncellas por la ribera del río, vió ella la arquilla en el carrizal, y envió una criada suya á que la tomase.
5 Und die Tochter Pharaos ging hernieder und wollte baden im Wasser; und ihre Jungfrauen gingen an dem Rande des Wassers. Und da sie das Kästlein im Schilf sah, sandte sie ihre Magd hin und ließ es holen.
6 And opening it, she saw the child, and he was crying. And she had pity on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews' children.
6 Elle l'ouvrit, et vit l'enfant: c'était un petit garçon qui pleurait. Elle en eut pitié, et elle dit: C'est un enfant des Hébreux!
6 D'oscail, d'fhéach, agus chonaic an leanbh fir, agus bhí an leanbh ag gol; bhí trua aici dó agus dúirt: “Leanbh le duine de na hEabhraigh é seo!”
6 Y como la abrió, vió al niño; y he aquí que el niño lloraba. Y teniendo compasión de él, dijo: De los niños de los Hebreos es éste.
6 Und da sie es auftat, sah sie das Kind; und siehe, das Knäblein weinte. Da jammerte es sie, und sprach: Es ist der hebräischen Kindlein eins.
7 Then his sister said to Pharaoh's daughter, May I go and get you one of the Hebrew women to give him the breast?
7 Alors la soeur de l'enfant dit à la fille de Pharaon: Veux-tu que j'aille te chercher une nourrice parmi les femmes des Hébreux, pour allaiter cet enfant?
7 Ansin dúirt a dheirfiúr le hiníon Fhorainn: “An rachaidh mé agus buime a ghairm ó i measc na mban Eabhrach chun an leanbh a oiliúint duit?”
7 Entonces su hermana dijo á la hija de Faraón: ¿Iré á llamarte un ama de las Hebreas, para que te críe este niño?
7 Da sprach seine Schwester zu der Tochter Pharaos: Soll ich hingehen und der hebräischen Weiber eine rufen, die da säugt, daß sie dir das Kindlein säuge?
8 And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, Go. And the girl went and got the child's mother.
8 Va, lui répondit la fille de Pharaon. Et la jeune fille alla chercher la mère de l'enfant.
8 “Déan,” arsa iníon Fhorainn léi, agus d'imigh an cailín agus ghlaoigh ar mháthair an linbh.
8 Y la hija de Faraón respondió: Ve. Entonces fué la doncella, y llamó á la madre del niño;
8 Die Tochter Pharaos sprach zu ihr: Gehe hin. Die Jungfrau ging hin und rief des Kindes Mutter.
9 And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, Take the child away and give it milk for me, and I will give you payment. And the woman took the child and gave it milk at her breast.
9 La fille de Pharaon lui dit: Emporte cet enfant, et allaite-le-moi; je te donnerai ton salaire. La femme prit l'enfant, et l'allaita.
9 Agus dúirt iníon Fhorainn léi: “Beir leat an leanbh seo, agus oil dom é, agus ní fhágfaidh mé gan do thuarastal thú.” Thóg an bhean an leanbh agus d'oil.
9 A la cual dijo la hija de Faraón: Lleva este niño, y críamelo, y yo te lo pagaré. Y la mujer tomó al niño, y criólo.
9 Da sprach Pharaos Tochter zu ihr: Nimm hin das Kindlein und säuge mir's; ich will dir lohnen. Das Weib nahm das Kind und säugte es.
10 And when the child was older, she took him to Pharaoh's daughter and he became her son, and she gave him the name Moses, Because, she said, I took him out of the water.
10 Quand il eut grandi, elle l'amena à la fille de Pharaon, et il fut pour elle comme un fils. Elle lui donna le nom de Moïse, car, dit-elle, je l'ai retiré des eaux.
10 Agus d'fhás an leanbh agus thug sí chun iníon Fhorainn é, agus bhí sé amhail mac aici, agus thug sí Maois air, “mar,” ar sí, “gur tharraing mé as an uisce é.”
10 Y como creció el niño, ella lo trajo á la hija de Faraón, la cual lo prohijó, y púsole por nombre Moisés, diciendo: Porque de las aguas lo saqué.
10 Und da das Kind groß war, brachte sie es der Tochter Pharaos, und es ward ihr Sohn, und sie hieß ihn Mose; denn sie sprach: Ich habe ihn aus dem Wasser gezogen.
11 Now when Moses had become a man, one day he went out to his people and saw how hard their work was; and he saw an Egyptian giving blows to a Hebrew, one of his people.
11 En ce temps-là, Moïse, devenu grand, se rendit vers ses frères, et fut témoin de leurs pénibles travaux. Il vit un Égyptien qui frappait un Hébreu d'entre ses frères.
11 Nuair a bhí Maois ina fhear chuaigh sé ar thuairisc a mhuintire lá agus chonaic sé cad é cruatan a bhí á fhulaingt acu; agus chonaic sé Éigipteach ag bualadh Eabhraigh, duine dá mhuintir.
11 Y en aquellos días acaeció que, crecido ya Moisés, salió á sus hermanos, y vió sus cargas: y observó á un Egipcio que hería á uno de los Hebreos, sus hermanos.
11 Zu den Zeiten, da Mose war groß geworden, ging er aus zu seinen Brüdern und sah ihre Last und ward gewahr, daß ein Ägypter schlug seiner Brüder, der Hebräischen, einen.
12 And turning this way and that, and seeing no one, he put the Egyptian to death, covering his body with sand.
12 Il regarda de côté et d'autre, et, voyant qu'il n'y avait personne, il tua l'Égyptien, et le cacha dans le sable.
12 D'fhéach sé anseo agus ansiúd agus nuair nach bhfaca sé aon duine, mharaigh sé an tÉigipteach agus chuir a chorp i bhfolach sa ghaineamh.
12 Y miró á todas partes, y viendo que no parecía nadie, mató al Egipcio, y escondiólo en la arena.
12 Und er wandte sich hin und her, und da er sah, daß kein Mensch da war, erschlug er den Ägypter und scharrte ihn in den Sand.
13 And he went out the day after and saw two of the Hebrews fighting: and he said to him who was in the wrong, Why are you fighting your brother?
13 Il sortit le jour suivant; et voici, deux Hébreux se querellaient. Il dit à celui qui avait tort: Pourquoi frappes-tu ton prochain?
13 Tháinig sé ar ais lá arna mhárach agus b'sheo beirt Eabhrach ag troid le chéile. Dúirt sé leis an té a bhí san éagóir: “Cén fáth gur bhuail tú do chomhthíreach?”
13 Y salió al día siguiente, y viendo á dos Hebreos que reñían, dijo al que hacía la injuria: ¿Por qué hieres á tu prójimo?
13 Auf einen andern Tag ging er auch aus und sah zwei hebräische Männer sich miteinander zanken und sprach zu dem Ungerechten: Warum schlägst du deinen Nächsten?
14 And he said, Who made you a ruler and a judge over us? are you going to put me to death as you did the Egyptian? And Moses was in fear, and said, It is clear that the thing has come to light.
14 Et cet homme répondit: Qui t'a établi chef et juge sur nous? Penses-tu me tuer, comme tu as tué l'Égyptien? Moïse eut peur, et dit: Certainement la chose est connue.
14 “Agus cé a cheap thusa,” ar seisean leis, “i do thaoiseach agus i do bhreitheamh orainne? An mé a mharú a ba áil leat, mar a mharaigh tú an tÉigipteach?” Tháinig scanradh ar Mhaois: “Ní foláir,” ar sé leis féin, “nó go bhfuil an scéal úd amuigh orm.”
14 Y él respondió: ¿Quién te ha puesto á ti por príncipe y juez sobre nosotros? ¿piensas matarme como mataste al Egipcio? Entonces Moisés tuvo miedo, y dijo: Ciertamente esta cosa es descubierta.
14 Er aber sprach: Wer hat dich zum Obersten oder Richter über uns gesetzt? Willst du mich auch erwürgen, wie du den Ägypter erwürgt hast? Da fürchtete sich Mose und sprach: Wie ist das laut geworden?
15 Now when Pharaoh had news of this, he would have put Moses to death. But Moses went in flight from Pharaoh into the land of Midian: and he took his seat by a water-spring.
15 Pharaon apprit ce qui s'était passé, et il cherchait à faire mourir Moïse. Mais Moïse s'enfuit de devant Pharaon, et il se retira dans le pays de Madian, où il s'arrêta près d'un puits.
15 Nuair a chuala Forann ina thaobh, rinne sé iarracht ar Mhaois a mharú, ach theith Maois ó Fhorann agus d'fhan sé i dtír Mhidián. Shuigh sé láimh le tobar.
15 Y oyendo Faraón este negocio, procuró matar á Moisés: mas Moisés huyó de delante de Faraón, y habitó en la tierra de Madián; y sentóse junto á un pozo.
15 Und es kam vor Pharao; der trachtete nach Mose, daß er ihn erwürgte. Aber Mose floh vor Pharao und blieb im Lande Midian und wohnte bei einem Brunnen.
16 Now the priest of Midian had seven daughters: and they came to get water for their father's flock.
16 Le sacrificateur de Madian avait sept filles. Elle vinrent puiser de l'eau, et elles remplirent les auges pour abreuver le troupeau de leur père.
16 Agus anois bhí mórsheisear iníonacha ag sagart Mhidián agus thángadar agus tharraingíodar uisce agus líonadar na humair chun uisce a thabhairt do thréad a n‑athar.
16 Tenía el sacerdote de Madián siete hijas, las cuales vinieron á sacar agua, para llenar las pilas y dar de beber á las ovejas de su padre.
16 Der Priester aber von Midian hatte sieben Töchter; die kamen, Wasser zu schöpfen, und füllten die Rinnen, daß sie ihres Vaters Schafe tränkten.
17 And the keepers of the sheep came up and were driving them away; but Moses got up and came to their help, watering their flock for them.
17 Les bergers arrivèrent, et les chassèrent. Alors Moïse se leva, prit leur défense, et fit boire leur troupeau.
17 Tháinig aoirí agus thiomáin ar shiúl iad, ach d'éirigh Maois agus d'fhóir orthu agus thug deoch dá dtréad.
17 Mas los pastores vinieron, y echáronlas: Entonces Moisés se levantó y defendiólas, y abrevó sus ovejas.
17 Da kamen die Hirten und stießen sie davon. Aber Mose machte sich auf und half ihnen und tränkte ihre Schafe.
18 And when they came to Reuel their father, he said, How is it that you have come back so quickly today?
18 Quand elles furent de retour auprès de Réuel, leur père, il dit: Pourquoi revenez-vous si tôt aujourd'hui?
18 Nuair a thángadar mar a raibh Reúél, an t‑athair, dúirt seisean: “Nach luath atá sibh ar ais inniu!”
18 Y volviendo ellas á Ragüel su padre, díjoles él: ¿Por qué habéis hoy venido tan presto?
18 Und da sie zu ihrem Vater Reguel kamen, sprach er: Wie seid ihr heute so bald gekommen?
19 And they said, An Egyptian came to our help against the keepers of sheep and got water for us and gave it to the flock.
19 Elles répondirent: Un Égyptien nous a délivrées de la main des bergers, et même il nous a puisé de l'eau, et a fait boire le troupeau.
19 “Shaor Éigipteach sinn,” ar siad, “ó lámha na n‑aoirí agus, fairis sin, tharraing sé uisce dúinn agus thug deoch don tréad.”
19 Y ellas respondieron: Un varón Egipcio nos defendió de mano de los pastores, y también nos sacó el agua, y abrevó las ovejas.
19 Sie sprachen: Ein ägyptischer Mann errettete uns von den Hirten und schöpfte uns und tränkte die Schafe.
20 And he said to his daughters, Where is he? why have you let the man go? make him come in and give him a meal.
20 Et il dit à ses filles: Où est-il? Pourquoi avez-vous laissé cet homme? Appelez-le, pour qu'il prenne quelque nourriture.
20 Agus dúirt seisean lena iníonacha: “Cá bhfuil mo dhuine? Cén fáth é a fhágáil ansiúd? Iarraigí air teacht agus bia a chaitheamh linn.”
20 Y dijo á sus hijas: ¿Y dónde está? ¿por qué habéis dejado ese hombre? llamadle para que coma pan.
20 Er sprach zu seinen Töchtern: Wo ist er? Warum habt ihr den Mann gelassen, daß ihr ihn nicht ludet, mit uns zu essen?
21 And Moses was happy to go on living with the man; and he gave his daughter Zipporah to Moses.
21 Moïse se décida à demeurer chez cet homme, qui lui donna pour femme Séphora, sa fille.
21 Bhí Maois sásta cur faoi i bhfochair an duine seo agus thug seisean Zipiorá a iníon mar bhean dó.
21 Y Moisés acordó en morar con aquel varón; y él dió á Moisés á su hija Séphora:
21 Und Mose willigte darein, bei dem Manne zu bleiben. Und er gab Mose seine Tochter Zippora.
22 And she gave birth to a son, to whom he gave the name Gershom: for he said, I have been living in a strange land.
22 Elle enfanta un fils, qu'il appela du nom de Guerschom, car, dit-il, j'habite un pays étranger.
22 Rug sí mac agus thug sé Géirsiom mar ainm air, “mar,” ar sé, “is deoraí [gér] mé i dtír iasachta.” Maois á Ghlaoch
22 La cual le parió un hijo, y él le puso por nombre Gersom: porque dijo: Peregrino soy en tierra ajena.
22 Die gebar einen Sohn; und er hieß ihn Gersom; denn er sprach: Ich bin ein Fremdling geworden im fremden Lande.
23 Now after a long time the king of Egypt came to his end: and the children of Israel were crying in their grief under the weight of their work, and their cry for help came to the ears of God.
23 Longtemps après, le roi d'Égypte mourut, et les enfants d'Israël gémissaient encore sous la servitude, et poussaient des cris. Ces cris, que leur arrachait la servitude, montèrent jusqu'à Dieu.
23 Le himeacht na fadaimsire sin tháinig an bás ar rí na hÉigipte; agus bhí clann Iosrael ag cneadaíl faoi chuing a ndaoirse agus scread siad ag iarraidh cabhrach agus tháinig a scread ó umar a ndaoirse i láthair Dé.
23 Y aconteció que después de muchos días murió el rey de Egipto, y los hijos de Israel suspiraron á causa de la servidumbre, y clamaron: y subió á Dios el clamor de ellos con motivo de su servidumbre.
23 Lange Zeit aber darnach starb der König in Ägypten. Und die Kinder Israel seufzten über ihre Arbeit und schrieen, und ihr Schreien über ihre Arbeit kam vor Gott.
24 And at the sound of their weeping the agreement which God had made with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob came to his mind.
24 Dieu entendit leurs gémissements, et se souvint de son alliance avec Abraham, Isaac et Jacob.
24 D'éist Dia lena gcnead agus chuimhnigh Dia ar a chonradh le hAbrahám, le hÍosác agus le Iacób.
24 Y oyó Dios el gemido de ellos, y acordóse de su pacto con Abraham, Isaac y Jacob.
24 Und Gott erhörte ihr Wehklagen und gedachte an seinen Bund mit Abraham, Isaak und Jakob;
25 And God's eyes were turned to the children of Israel and he gave them the knowledge of himself.
25 Dieu regarda les enfants d'Israël, et il en eut compassion.
