1 And Joseph put his head down on his father's face, weeping and kissing him.

2 And Joseph gave orders to his servants who had the necessary knowledge, to make his father's body ready, folding it in linen with spices, and they did so.
2 Il ordonna aux médecins à son service d'embaumer son père, et les médecins embaumèrent Israël.
2 Ansin d'ordaigh Iósaef do na lianna a bhí ina sheirbhís a athair a bhalsamú, agus rinne na lianna Iosrael a bhalsamú.
2 Y mandó José á sus médicos familiares que embalsamasen á su padre: y los médicos embalsamaron á Israel.
2 Und Joseph befahl seinen Knechten, den Ärzten, das sie seinen Vater salbten. Und die Ärzte salbten Israel,
3 And the forty days needed for making the body ready went by: and there was weeping for him among the Egyptians for seventy days.
3 Quarante jours s'écoulèrent ainsi, et furent employés à l'embaumer. Et les Égyptiens le pleurèrent soixante-dix jours.

3 Y cumpliéronle cuarenta días, porque así cumplían los días de los embalsamados, y lloráronlo los Egipcios setenta días.

4 And when the days of weeping for him were past, Joseph said to the servants of Pharaoh, If now you have love for me, say these words to Pharaoh:
4 Quand les jours du deuil furent passés, Joseph s'adressa aux gens de la maison de Pharaon, et leur dit: Si j'ai trouvé grâce à vos yeux, rapportez, je vous prie, à Pharaon ce que je vous dis.
4 Nuair a bhí an tréimhse chaointe air thart, labhair Iósaef le teaghlach Fhorainn: “Má táim i bhfabhar in bhur láthair,” ar sé, “cuirigí an teachtaireacht seo i gcluais Fhorainn, le bhur dtoil:
4 Y pasados los días de su luto, habló José á los de la casa de Faraón, diciendo: Si he hallado ahora gracia en vuestros ojos, os ruego que habléis en oídos de Faraón, diciendo:
4 Da nun die Leidtage aus waren, redete Joseph mit Pharaos Gesinde und sprach: Habe ich Gnade vor euch gefunden, so redet mit Pharao und sprecht:
5 My father made me take an oath, saying, When I am dead, put me to rest in the place I have made ready for myself in the land of Canaan. So now let me go and put my father in his last resting-place, and I will come back again.
5 Mon père m'a fait jurer, en disant: Voici, je vais mourir! Tu m'enterreras dans le sépulcre que je me suis acheté au pays de Canaan. Je voudrais donc y monter, pour enterrer mon père; et je reviendrai.
5 Chuir m'athair faoi bhrí na mionn mé. ‘Táimse ar tí báis,’ ar sé, ‘tá uaigh agam a d'oscail mé féin dom féin i dtír Chanán; ní foláir duit mé a adhlacadh ansiúd.’ Lig dom dul suas mar sin anois, impím ort, agus m'athair a chur. Ansin fillfidh mé.”
5 Mi padre me conjuró diciendo: He aquí yo muero; en mi sepulcro que yo cavé para mí en la tierra de Canaán, allí me sepultarás; ruego pues que vaya yo ahora, y sepultaré á mi padre, y volveré.
5 Mein Vater hat einen Eid von mir genommen und gesagt: Siehe, ich sterbe; begrabe mich in meinem Grabe, das ich mir im Lande Kanaan gegraben habe. So will ich nun hinaufziehen und meinen Vater begraben und wiederkommen.
6 And Pharaoh said, Go up and put your father to rest, as you gave your oath to him.
6 Pharaon répondit: Monte, et enterre ton père, comme il te l'a fait jurer.

6 Y Faraón dijo: Ve, y sepulta á tu padre, como él te conjuró.

7 So Joseph went up to put his father in his last resting-place; and with him went all the servants of Pharaoh, and the chief men of his house and all the chiefs of the land of Egypt,
7 Joseph monta, pour enterrer son père. Avec lui montèrent tous les serviteurs de Pharaon, anciens de sa maison, tous les anciens du pays d'Égypte,
7 D'imigh Iósaef suas dá bhrí sin chun a athair a adhlacadh agus chuaigh in éineacht leis searbhóntaí uile Fhorainn agus seanóirí uile a theaghlaigh, agus seanóirí uile thír na hÉigipte;
7 Entonces José subió á sepultar á su padre; y subieron con él todos los siervos de Faraón, los ancianos de su casa, y todos los ancianos de la tierra de Egipto.
7 Also zog Joseph hinauf, seinen Vater zu begraben. Und es zogen mit ihm alle Knechte Pharaos, die Ältesten seines Hauses und alle Ältesten des Landes Ägypten,
8 And all the family of Joseph, and his brothers and his father's people: only their little ones and their flocks and herds they did not take with them from the land of Goshen.
8 toute la maison de Joseph, ses frères, et la maison de son père: on ne laissa dans le pays de Gosen que les enfants, les brebis et les boeufs.

8 Y toda la casa de José, y sus hermanos, y la casa de su padre: solamente dejaron en la tierra de Gosén sus niños, y sus ovejas y sus vacas.
8 dazu das ganze Gesinde Josephs und seine Brüder und das Gesinde seines Vaters. Allein ihre Kinder, Schafe und Ochsen ließen sie im Lande Gosen.
9 And carriages went up with him and horsemen, a great army.
9 Il y avait encore avec Joseph des chars et des cavaliers, en sorte que le cortège était très nombreux.

9 Y subieron también con él carros y gente de á caballo, é hízose un escuadrón muy grande.
9 Und es zogen mit ihm hinauf Wagen und Reisige, und war ein sehr großes Heer.
10 And they came to the grain-floor of Atad on the other side of Jordan, and there they gave the last honours to Jacob, with great and bitter sorrow, weeping for their father for seven days.
10 Arrivés à l'aire d'Athad, qui est au delà du Jourdain, ils firent entendre de grandes et profondes lamentations; et Joseph fit en l'honneur de son père un deuil de sept jours.
10 Nuair a shroicheadar Urlár Buailte Átád lastall den Iordáin, chaoineadar caoineadh fada dobrónach ansiúd agus bhí sé féin ag caoineadh a athar ar feadh seacht lá.
10 Y llegaron hasta la era de Atad, que está á la otra parte del Jordán, y endecharon allí con grande y muy grave lamentación: y José hizo á su padre duelo por siete días.
10 Da sie nun an die Tenne Atad kamen, die jenseit des Jordans liegt, da hielten sie eine gar große und bittere Klage; und er trug über seinen Vater Leid sieben Tage.
11 And when the people of the land, the people of Canaan, at the grain-floor of Atad, saw their grief, they said, Great is the grief of the Egyptians: so the place was named Abel-mizraim, on the other side of Jordan.
11 Les habitants du pays, les Cananéens, furent témoins de ce deuil dans l'aire d'Athad, et ils dirent: Voilà un grand deuil parmi les Égyptiens! C'est pourquoi l'on a donné le nom d'Abel Mitsraïm à cette aire qui est au delà du Jourdain.
11 Nuair a chonaic muintir na háite, na Canánaigh, an caoineadh in Urlár Buailte Átád, dúradar: “Nach dian an caoineadh é seo ag na hÉigiptigh!” Uime sin thugadar Móinéar na nÉigipteach ar an ait - tá sé lastall den Iordáin.
11 Y viendo los moradores de la tierra, los Cananeos, el llanto en la era de Atad, dijeron: Llanto grande es este de los Egipcios: por eso fué llamado su nombre Abelmizraim, que está á la otra parte del Jordán.
11 Und da die Leute im Lande, die Kanaaniter, die Klage bei der Tenne Atad sahen, sprachen sie: Die Ägypter halten da große Klage. Daher heißt man den Ort: Der Ägypter Klage, welcher liegt jenseit des Jordans.
12 So his sons did as he had given them orders to do:
12 C'est ainsi que les fils de Jacob exécutèrent les ordres de leur père.

12 Hicieron, pues, sus hijos con él, según les había mandado:
12 Und seine Kinder taten, wie er ihnen befohlen hatte,
13 For they took him into the land of Canaan and put him to rest in the hollow rock in the field of Machpelah, which Abraham got with the field, for a resting-place, from Ephron the Hittite at Mamre.
13 Ils le transportèrent au pays de Canaan, et l'enterrèrent dans la caverne du champ de Macpéla, qu'Abraham avait achetée d'Éphron, le Héthien, comme propriété sépulcrale, et qui est vis-à-vis de Mamré.

13 Pues lleváronlo sus hijos á la tierra de Canaán, y le sepultaron en la cueva del campo de Macpela, la que había comprado Abraham con el mismo campo, para heredad de sepultura, de Ephrón el Hetheo, delante de Mamre.
13 und führten ihn ins Land Kanaan und begruben ihn in der zwiefachen Höhle des Ackers, die Abraham erkauft hatte mit dem Acker zum Erbbegräbnis von Ephron, dem Hethiter, gegenüber Mamre.
14 And when his father had been put to rest, Joseph and his brothers and all who had gone with him, went back to Egypt.
14 Joseph, après avoir enterré son père, retourna en Égypte, avec ses frères et tous ceux qui étaient montés avec lui pour enterrer son père.

14 Y tornóse José á Egipto, él y sus hermanos, y todos los que subieron con él á sepultar á su padre, después que le hubo sepultado.
14 Als sie ihn nun begraben hatten, zog Joseph wieder nach Ägypten mit seinen Brüdern und mit allen, die mit ihm hinaufgezogen waren, seinen Vater zu begraben.
15 Now after the death of their father, Joseph's brothers said to themselves, It may be that Joseph's heart will be turned against us, and he will give us punishment for all the evil which we did to him.
15 Quand les frères de Joseph virent que leur père était mort, ils dirent: Si Joseph nous prenait en haine, et nous rendait tout le mal que nous lui avons fait!
15 Nuair a chonaic deartháireacha Iósaef go raibh a n‑athair marbh, dúradar: “B'fhéidir gurb amhlaidh a thabharfaidh Iósaef fuath dúinn agus cúiteamh a éileamh san urchóid go léir a rinneamar air.”
15 Y viendo los hermanos de José que su padre era muerto, dijeron: Quizá nos aborrecerá José, y nos dará el pago de todo el mal que le hicimos.
15 Die Brüder aber Josephs fürchteten sich, da ihr Vater gestorben war, und sprachen: Joseph möchte uns Gram sein und vergelten alle Bosheit, die wir an ihm getan haben.
16 So they sent word to Joseph, saying, Your father, before his death, gave us orders, saying,
16 Et ils firent dire à Joseph: Ton père a donné cet ordre avant de mourir:
16 Chuireadar teachtaireacht dá bhrí sin go dtí Iósaef á rá: “Roimh bhás dó, thug d'athair an t‑ordú seo:
16 Y enviaron á decir á José: Tu padre mandó antes de su muerte, diciendo:
16 Darum ließen sie ihm sagen: Dein Vater befahl vor seinem Tod und sprach:
17 You are to say to Joseph, Let the wrongdoing of your brothers be overlooked, and the evil they did to you: now, if it is your pleasure, let the sin of the servants of your father's God have forgiveness. And at these words, Joseph was overcome with weeping.
17 Vous parlerez ainsi à Joseph: Oh! pardonne le crime de tes frères et leur péché, car ils t'ont fait du mal! Pardonne maintenant le péché des serviteurs du Dieu de ton père! Joseph pleura, en entendant ces paroles.
17 ‘Abraigí le Iósaef: Maith a gcoir agus a bpeaca do do dheartháireacha, impím ort, mar go ndearnadar éagóir ort.’ Agus anois achainímidne ort a gcoir a mhaitheamh do shearbhóntaí Dhia d'athar.” Bhris a ghol ar Iósaef nuair a labhair siad leis.
17 Así diréis á José: Ruégote que perdones ahora la maldad de tus hermanos y su pecado, porque mal te trataron: por tanto ahora te rogamos que perdones la maldad de los siervos del Dios de tu padre. Y José lloró mientras hablaban.
17 Also sollt ihr Joseph sagen: Vergib doch deinen Brüdern die Missetat und ihre Sünde, daß sie so übel an dir getan haben. So vergib doch nun diese Missetat uns, den Dienern des Gottes deines Vaters. Aber Joseph weinte, da sie solches mit ihm redeten.
18 Then his brothers went, and falling at his feet, said, Truly, we are your servants.
18 Ses frères vinrent eux-mêmes se prosterner devant lui, et ils dirent: Nous sommes tes serviteurs.
18 Tháinig a dheartháireacha uathu féin agus shléachtadar dó agus dúirt: “Seo sinne inár searbhóntaí agat!”
18 Y vinieron también sus hermanos, y postráronse delante de él, y dijeron: Henos aquí por tus siervos.
18 Und seine Brüder gingen hin und fielen vor ihm nieder und sprachen: Siehe, wir sind deine Knechte.
19 And Joseph said, Have no fear: am I in the place of God?
19 Joseph leur dit: Soyez sans crainte; car suis-je à la place de Dieu?
19 Ach d'fhreagair Iósaef: “Ná bíodh eagla oraibh! An amhlaidh atáimse in áit Dé?
19 Y respondióles José: No temáis: ¿estoy yo en lugar de Dios?
19 Joseph sprach zu ihnen: Fürchtet euch nicht, denn ich bin unter Gott.
20 As for you, it was in your mind to do me evil, but God has given a happy outcome, the salvation of numbers of people, as you see today.
20 Vous aviez médité de me faire du mal: Dieu l'a changé en bien, pour accomplir ce qui arrive aujourd'hui, pour sauver la vie à un peuple nombreux.
20 Maidir libhse, bheartaigh sibh olc i m'aghaidh ach dheonaigh Dia é a chur chun tairbhe i dtreo go gcuirfeadh sé fuascailt a lán i gcrích, faoi mar atá déanta aige anois.
20 Vosotros pensasteis mal sobre mí, mas Dios lo encaminó á bien, para hacer lo que vemos hoy, para mantener en vida á mucho pueblo.
20 Ihr gedachtet's böse mit mir zu machen; aber Gott gedachte es gut zu machen, daß er täte, wie es jetzt am Tage ist, zu erhalten viel Volks.
21 So now, have no fear: for I will take care of you and your little ones. So he gave them comfort with kind words.
21 Soyez donc sans crainte; je vous entretiendrai, vous et vos enfants. Et il les consola, en parlant à leur coeur.
21 Ná bíodh eagla oraibh dá bhrí sin; cothóidh mé féin sibhse agus bhur muirear.” Ar an gcuma sin thug sé misneach agus sólás dóibh.
21 Ahora, pues, no tengáis miedo; yo os sustentaré á vosotros y á vuestros hijos. Así los consoló, y les habló al corazón.
21 So fürchtet euch nun nicht; ich will euch versorgen und eure Kinder. Und er tröstete sie und redete freundlich mit ihnen.
22 Now Joseph and all his father's family went on living in Egypt: and the years of Joseph's life were a hundred and ten.
22 Joseph demeura en Égypte, lui et la maison de son père. Il vécut cent dix ans.
22 Chónaigh Iósaef san Éigipt mar sin agus teaghlach a athar ina fhochair. Mhair Iósaef céad agus a deich mbliana.
22 Y estuvo José en Egipto, él y la casa de su padre: y vivió José ciento diez años.
22 Also wohnte Joseph in Ägypten mit seines Vaters Hause und lebte hundertundzehn Jahre
23 And Joseph saw Ephraim's children of the third generation: and the children of Machir, the son of Manasseh, came to birth on Joseph's knees.
23 Joseph vit les fils d'Éphraïm jusqu'à la troisième génération; et les fils de Makir, fils de Manassé, naquirent sur ses genoux.
23 Chonaic Iósaef an tríú glúin de shliocht Eafráim, agus chonaic sé leis clann Mháicír mac Mhanaise a rugadh in ucht Iósaef.
23 Y vió José los hijos de Ephraim hasta la tercera generación: también los hijos de Machîr, hijo de Manasés, fueron criados sobre las rodillas de José.
23 und sah Ephraims Kinder bis ins dritte Glied. Auch wurden dem Machir, Manasses Sohn, Kinder geboren auf den Schoß Josephs.
24 Then Joseph said to his brothers, The time of my death has come; but God will keep you in mind and take you out of this land into the land which he gave by his oath to Abraham and Isaac and Jacob.
24 Joseph dit à ses frères: Je vais mourir! Mais Dieu vous visitera, et il vous fera remonter de ce pays-ci dans le pays qu'il a juré de donner à Abraham, à Isaac et à Jacob.
24 Faoi dheireadh dúirt Iósaef lena dheartháireacha: “Táim i mbéal báis. Ach tiocfaidh Dia ag triall oraibh agus tabharfaidh sé suas sibh ón tír seo go dtí an tír a gheall sé faoi bhrí na mionn d'Abrahám, do Íosác, agus do Iacób.”
24 Y José dijo á sus hermanos: Yo me muero; mas Dios ciertamente os visitará, y os hará subir de aquesta tierra á la tierra que juró á Abraham, á Isaac, y á Jacob.
24 Und Joseph sprach zu seinen Brüdern: Ich sterbe, und Gott wird euch heimsuchen und aus diesem Lande führen in das Land, das er Abraham, Isaak und Jakob geschworen hat.
25 Then Joseph made the children of Israel take an oath, saying, God will certainly give effect to his word, and you are to take my bones away from here.
25 Joseph fit jurer les fils d'Israël, en disant: Dieu vous visitera; et vous ferez remonter mes os loin d'ici.
25 Ansin chuir Iósaef clann Iosrael faoi bhrí na mionn á rá: “Nuair a thiocfaidh Dia ag triall oraibh, tugaigí mo chnámha libh ón áit seo gan teip.”
25 Y conjuró José á los hijos de Israel, diciendo: Dios ciertamente os visitará, y haréis llevar de aquí mis huesos.
25 Darum nahm er einen Eid von den Kindern Israel und sprach: Wenn euch Gott heimsuchen wird, so führet meine Gebeine von dannen.
26 So Joseph came to his death, being a hundred and ten years old: and they made his body ready, and he was put in a chest in Egypt.
26 Joseph mourut, âgé de cent dix ans. On l'embauma, et on le mit dans un cercueil en Égypte.
