1 Now after these things, word came to Joseph that his father was ill: and he took with him his sons Manasseh and Ephraim.
1 Après ces choses, l'on vint dire à Joseph: Voici, ton père est malade. Et il prit avec lui ses deux fils, Manassé et Éphraïm.

1 Y Sucedio después de estas cosas el haberse dicho á José: He aquí tu padre está enfermo. Y él tomó consigo sus dos hijos Manasés y Ephraim.
1 Darnach ward Joseph gesagt: Siehe, dein Vater ist krank. Und er nahm mit sich seine beiden Söhne, Manasse und Ephraim.
2 And when they said to Jacob, Your son Joseph is coming to see you: then Israel, getting all his strength together, had himself lifted up in his bed.
2 On avertit Jacob, et on lui dit: Voici ton fils Joseph qui vient vers toi. Et Israël rassembla ses forces, et s'assit sur son lit.
2 Nuair a dúradh le Iacób: “Féach, tá do mhac Iósaef tagtha chugat,” chruinnigh Iosrael a neart agus d'éirigh aniar sa leaba.
2 Y se hizo saber á Jacob, diciendo: He aquí tu hijo José viene á ti. Entonces se esforzó Israel, y sentóse sobre la cama;
2 Da ward's Jakob angesagt: Siehe, dein Sohn Joseph kommt zu dir. Und Israel machte sich stark und setzte sich im Bette
3 And Jacob said to Joseph, God, the Ruler of all, came to me in a vision at Luz in the land of Canaan, and gave me his blessing,
3 Jacob dit à Joseph: Le Dieu tout puissant m'est apparu à Luz, dans le pays de Canaan, et il m'a béni.

3 Y dijo á José: El Dios Omnipotente me apareció en Luz en la tierra de Canaán, y me bendijo,
3 und sprach zu Joseph: Der allmächtige Gott erschien mir zu Lus im Lande Kanaan und segnete mich
4 And said to me, Truly, I will make you fertile and give you increase and will make of you a great family of nations: and I will give this land to your seed after you to be their heritage for ever.
4 Il m'a dit: Je te rendrai fécond, je te multiplierai, et je ferai de toi une multitude de peuples; je donnerai ce pays à ta postérité après toi, pour qu'elle le possède à toujours.
4 á rá: ‘Féach! cuirfídh mé an rath ort agus méadóidh mé do shliocht, agus déanfaidh mé baicle ciníocha díot agus tabharfaidh mé an tír seo do do shliocht i do dhiaidh mar shealús go síoraí.’
4 Y díjome: He aquí, yo te haré crecer, y te multiplicaré, y te pondré por estirpe de pueblos: y daré esta tierra á tu simiente después de ti por heredad perpetua.
4 und sprach zu mir: Siehe, ich will dich wachsen lassen und mehren und will dich zum Haufen Volks machen und will dies Land zu eigen geben deinem Samen nach dir ewiglich.
5 And now your two sons who came to birth in Egypt before I came to you here, are mine; Ephraim and Manasseh will be mine, in the same way as Reuben and Simeon are.
5 Maintenant, les deux fils qui te sont nés au pays d'Égypte, avant mon arrivée vers toi en Égypte, seront à moi; Éphraïm et Manassé seront à moi, comme Ruben et Siméon.
5 Anois an bheirt mhac a rugadh duit i dtír na hÉigipte sula dtáinig mise chugat san Éigipt, is liomsa iad; beidh Eafráim agus Manaise agam mar mhic ar aon dul le Reúbaen agus Simeon.
5 Y ahora tus dos hijos Ephraim y Manasés, que te nacieron en la tierra de Egipto, antes que viniese á ti á la tierra de Egipto, míos son; como Rubén y Simeón, serán míos:
5 So sollen nun deine zwei Söhne, Ephraim und Manasse, die dir geboren sind in Ägyptenland, ehe ich hereingekommen bin zu dir, mein sein gleich wie Ruben und Simeon.
6 And any other offspring which you have after them, will be yours, and will be named after their brothers in their heritage.
6 Mais les enfants que tu as engendrés après eux seront à toi; ils seront appelés du nom de leurs frères dans leur héritage.
6 Ach cibé clann a ghinfear uait ina ndiaidh, is leat féin iad; agus beidh ainmneacha a ndeartháireacha orthu sa mhéid a bhaineann le hoidhreacht.
6 Y los que después de ellos has engendrado, serán tuyos; por el nombre de sus hermanos serán llamados en sus heredades.
6 Welche du aber nach ihnen zeugest, sollen dein sein und genannt werden nach dem Namen ihrer Brüder in deren Erbteil.
7 And as for me, when I came from Paddan, death overtook Rachel on the way, when we were still some distance from Ephrath; and I put her to rest there on the road to Ephrath, which is Beth-lehem.
7 A mon retour de Paddan, Rachel mourut en route auprès de moi, dans le pays de Canaan, à quelque distance d'Éphrata; et c'est là que je l'ai enterrée, sur le chemin d'Éphrata, qui est Bethléhem.
7 Ar m'aistear dom ó Phadan Arám bhí sé de dhólás agam go bhfuair Ráchael bás i dtír Chanán, agus sinn tamall fós ó Eafrát. Rinne mé í a adhlacadh ansiúd ar an mbóthar go hEafrát, i mBeithil.”
7 Porque cuando yo venía de Padan-aram, se me murió Rachêl en la tierra de Canaán, en el camino, como media legua de tierra viniendo á Ephrata; y sepultéla allí en el camino de Ephrata, que es Bethlehem.
7 Und da ich aus Mesopotamien kam starb mir Rahel im Lande Kanaan auf dem Weg, da noch ein Feld Weges war gen Ephrath; und ich begrub sie daselbst an dem Wege Ephraths, das nun Bethlehem heißt.
8 Then Israel, looking at Joseph's sons, said, Who are these?
8 Israël regarda les fils de Joseph, et dit: Qui sont ceux-ci?
8 Nuair a chonaic Iosrael mic Iósaef, dúirt sé: “Ce hiad sin?”
8 Y vió Israel los hijos de José, y dijo: ¿Quiénes son éstos?
8 Und Israel sah die Söhne Josephs und sprach: Wer sind die?
9 And Joseph said to his father, They are my sons, whom God has given me in this land. And he said, Let them come near me, and I will give them a blessing.
9 Joseph répondit à son père: Ce sont mes fils, que Dieu m'a donnés ici. Israël dit: Fais-les, je te prie, approcher de moi, pour que je les bénisse.
9 “Sin iad,” arsa Iósaef lena athair, “mo mhic-sé, a bhronn Dia anseo orm.” Agus dúirt seisean: “Tabhair anseo i leith chugam iad, le do thoil, go gcuirfidh mé mo bheannacht orthu.”
9 Y respondió José á su padre: Son mis hijos, que Dios me ha dado aquí. Y él dijo: Allégalos ahora á mí, y los bendeciré.
9 Joseph antwortete seinem Vater: Es sind meine Söhne, die mir Gott hier gegeben hat. Er sprach: Bringe sie her zu mir, daß ich sie segne.
10 Now because Israel was old, his eyes were no longer clear, and he was not able to see. So he made them come near to him, and he gave them a kiss, folding them in his arms.
10 Les yeux d'Israël étaient appesantis par la vieillesse; il ne pouvait plus voir. Joseph les fit approcher de lui; et Israël leur donna un baiser, et les embrassa.
10 Bhí scáthshúilí ar Iosrael leis an aois i dtreo nach raibh radharc aige orthu. Thug Iósaef níos cóngaraí dó iad dá bhrí sin agus phóg sé an bheirt agus ghlac chuige ina ucht iad.
10 Y los ojos de Israel estaban tan agravados de la vejez, que no podía ver. Hízoles, pues, llegar á él, y él los besó y abrazó.
10 Denn die Augen Israels waren dunkel geworden vor Alter, und er konnte nicht wohl sehen. Und er brachte sie zu ihm. Er aber küßte sie und herzte sie
11 And Israel said to Joseph, I had no hope of seeing your face again, but God in his mercy has let me see you and your children.
11 Israël dit à Joseph: Je ne pensais pas revoir ton visage, et voici que Dieu me fait voir même ta postérité.
11 Agus dúirt Iosrael le Iósaef: “Ní raibh aon súil agam go bhfeicfinn do ghnúis arís, ach seo é Dia á dheonú dom do chlann a fheiceáil chomh maith.”
11 Y dijo Israel á José: No pensaba yo ver tu rostro, y he aquí Dios me ha hecho ver también tu simiente.
11 und sprach zu Joseph: Siehe, ich habe dein Angesicht gesehen, was ich nicht gedacht hätte; und siehe, Gott hat mich auch deinen Samen sehen lassen.
12 Then Joseph took them from between his knees, and went down on his face to the earth.
12 Joseph les retira des genoux de son père, et il se prosterna en terre devant lui.
12 Ansin thóg Iósaef an bheirt mhac óna ghlúine chuige féin, agus shléacht sé go talamh.
12 Entonces José los sacó de entre sus rodillas, é inclinóse á tierra.
12 Und Joseph nahm sie von seinem Schoß und neigte sich zur Erde gegen sein Angesicht.
13 Then taking Ephraim with his right hand, Joseph put him at Israel's left side, and with his left hand he put Manasseh at Israel's right side, placing them near him.
13 Puis Joseph les prit tous deux, Éphraïm de sa main droite à la gauche d'Israël, et Manassé de sa main gauche à la droite d'Israël, et il les fit approcher de lui.
13 Agus rug Iósaef orthu araon, ar Eafráim ina láimh dheas i dtreo go raibh sé ar chlé Iosrael, agus ar Mhanaise ina láimh chlé i dtreo go raibh sé ar dheis Iosrael; agus thug sé in aice leis iad.
13 Y tomólos José á ambos, Ephraim á su diestra, á la siniestra de Israel; y á Manasés á su izquierda, á la derecha de Israel; é hízoles llegar á él.
13 Da nahm sie Joseph beide, Ephraim in seine rechte Hand gegen Israels linke Hand und Manasse in seine Linke Hand gegen Israels rechte Hand, und brachte sie zu ihm.
14 And Israel, stretching out his right hand, put it on the head of Ephraim, the younger, and his left hand on the head of Manasseh, crossing his hands on purpose, for Manasseh was the older.
14 Israël étendit sa main droite et la posa sur la tête d'Éphraïm qui était le plus jeune, et il posa sa main gauche sur la tête de Manassé: ce fut avec intention qu'il posa ses mains ainsi, car Manassé était le premier-né.
14 Shín Iosrael a lámh dheas uaidh amach agus leag í ar cheann an té a ba óige, Eafráim; agus a lámh chlé ar cheann Mhanaise, agus a lámha á gcur thar a chéile aige - ba é Manaise an té ba shine.
14 Entonces Israel extendió su diestra, y púsola sobre la cabeza de Ephraim, que era el menor, y su siniestra sobre la cabeza de Manasés, colocando así sus manos adrede, aunque Manasés era el primogénito.
14 Aber Israel streckte seine rechte Hand aus und legte sie auf Ephraims, des Jüngeren, Haupt und seine linke auf Manasses Haupt und tat wissend also mit seinen Händen, denn Manasse war der Erstgeborene.
15 And he gave Joseph a blessing, saying, May the God to whom my fathers, Abraham and Isaac, gave worship, the God who has taken care of me all my life till this day,
15 Il bénit Joseph, et dit: Que le Dieu en présence duquel ont marché mes pères, Abraham et Isaac, que le Dieu qui m'a conduit depuis que j'existe jusqu'à ce jour,
15 Ansin chuir sé a bheannacht ar Iósaef á rá: “Dia ar shiúil m'aithreacha Abrahám agus Íosác ina radharc, Dia a bhí mar aoire agam ar feadh mo shaoil go léir go dtí seo,
15 Y bendijo á José, y dijo: El Dios en cuya presencia anduvieron mis padres Abraham é Isaac, el Dios que me mantiene desde que yo soy hasta este día,
15 Und er segnete Joseph und sprach: Der Gott, vor dem meine Väter, Abraham und Isaak, gewandelt haben, der Gott, der mein Hirte gewesen ist mein Leben lang bis auf diesen Tag,
16 The angel who has been my saviour from all evil, send his blessing on these children: and let my name and the name of my fathers, Abraham and Isaac, be given to them; and let them become a great nation in the earth.
16 que l'ange qui m'a délivré de tout mal, bénisse ces enfants! Qu'ils soient appelés de mon nom et du nom de mes pères, Abraham et Isaac, et qu'ils multiplient en abondance au milieu du pays!
16 An t‑aingeal a d'fhuascail mé ó gach olc, go mbeannaí sé na buachaillí seo! Go maire mo ainmse iontu, agus ainm m'aithreacha Abrahám agus Íosác. Go dté siad i líonmhaire agus in iomadúlacht ar chlár na cruinne.”
16 El Angel que me liberta de todo mal, bendiga á estos mozos: y mi nombre sea llamado en ellos, y el nombre de mis padres Abraham é Isaac: y multipliquen en gran manera en medio de la tierra.
16 der Engel, der mich erlöst hat von allem Übel, der segne diese Knaben, daß sie nach meiner Väter Abrahams und Isaaks, Namen genannt werden, daß sie wachsen und viel werden auf Erden.
17 Now when Joseph saw that his father had put his right hand on the head of Ephraim, it did not seem right to him; and lifting his father's hand he would have put it on the head of Manasseh.
17 Joseph vit avec déplaisir que son père posait sa main droite sur la tête d'Éphraïm; il saisit la main de son père, pour la détourner de dessus la tête d'Éphraïm, et la diriger sur celle de Manassé.
17 Nuair a chonaic Iósaef a athair ag leagan a láimhe deise ar cheann Eafráim, baineadh stad as. Rug sé greim ar láimh a athar chun í a chur ó cheann Eafráim go ceann Mhanaise.
17 Entonces viendo José que su padre ponía la mano derecha sobre la cabeza de Eprhaim, causóle esto disgusto; y asió la mano de su padre, para mudarla de sobre la cabeza de Ephraim á la cabeza de Manasés.
17 Da aber Joseph sah, daß sein Vater die rechte Hand auf Ephraims Haupt legte, gefiel es ihm übel, und er faßte seines Vaters Hand, daß er sie von Ephraim Haupt auf Manasses Haupt wendete,
18 And Joseph said to his father, Not so, my father, for this is the older; put your right hand on his head.
18 Et Joseph dit à son père: Pas ainsi, mon père, car celui-ci est le premier-né; pose ta main droite sur sa tête.
18 Dúirt Iósaef lena athair: “Ní mar sin is ceart, a athair, é seo an chéadghin; leag do lámh dheas ar a cheann seo.”
18 Y dijo José á su padre: No así, padre mío, porque éste es el primogénito; pon tu diestra sobre su cabeza.
18 und sprach zu ihm: Nicht so, mein Vater; dieser ist der Erstgeborene, lege deine rechte Hand auf sein Haupt.
19 But his father would not, saying, I am doing it on purpose, my son; he will certainly become a nation and a great one; but his younger brother will be greater than he, and his seed will become a great family of nations.
19 Son père refusa, et dit: Je le sais, mon fils, je le sais; lui aussi deviendra un peuple, lui aussi sera grand; mais son frère cadet sera plus grand que lui, et sa postérité deviendra une multitude de nations.
19 Ní dhearna an t‑athair rud air, ach dúirt: “Tá a fhios agam, a mhic ó, tá a fhios sin. Beidh seisean leis ina phobal mór, agus beidh sé tábhachtach. Ach is tábhachtaí ná é a bheidh an deartháir is óige agus beidh a shliocht ina mbaicle ciníocha.”
19 Mas su padre no quiso, y dijo: Lo sé, hijo mío, lo sé: también él vendrá á ser un pueblo, y será también acrecentado; pero su hermano menor será más grande que él, y su simiente será plenitud de gentes.
19 Aber sein Vater weigerte sich und sprach: Ich weiß wohl, mein Sohn, ich weiß wohl. Dieser soll auch ein Volk werden und wird groß sein; aber sein jüngerer Bruder wird größer denn er werden, und sein Same wird ein großes Volk werden.
20 So he gave them his blessing that day, saying, You will be the sign of blessing in Israel, for they will say, May God make you like Ephraim and Manasseh; and he put Ephraim before Manasseh.
20 Il les bénit ce jour-là, et dit: C'est par toi qu'Israël bénira, en disant: Que Dieu te traite comme Éphraïm et comme Manassé! Et il mit Éphraïm avant Manassé.
20 Chuir sé a bheannacht orthu an lá sin á rá: “Gura beannacht sibh in Iosrael! Go ndeire siad: ‘Go gcuire Dia an bhail chéanna ort le hEafráim agus le Manaise!’ ” Ar an tslí sin thug sé an tosach do Eafráim ar Mhanaise.
20 Y bendíjolos aquel día, diciendo: En ti bendecirá Israel, diciendo: Póngate Dios como á Ephraim y como á Manasés. Y puso á Ephraim delante de Manasés.
20 Also segnete er sie des Tages und sprach: Wer in Israel will jemand segnen, der sage: Gott setze dich wie Ephraim und Manasse! und setzte also Ephraim Manasse vor.
21 Then Israel said to Joseph, Now my death is near; but God will be with you, guiding you back to the land of your fathers.
21 Israël dit à Joseph: Voici, je vais mourir! Mais Dieu sera avec vous, et il vous fera retourner dans le pays de vos pères.
21 Ansin dúirt Iosrael le Iósaef: “Féach, táim ar tí bás a fháil! Ach beidh Dia libhse agus tabharfaidh sé ar ais go tír bhur sinsear sibh.
21 Y dijo Israel á José: He aquí, yo muero, mas Dios será con vosotros, y os hará volver á la tierra de vuestros padres.
21 Und Israel sprach zu Joseph: Siehe, ich sterbe; und Gott wird mit euch sein und wird euch wiederbringen in das Land eurer Väter.
22 And I have given you more than your brothers, even Shechem as your heritage, which I took from the Amorites with my sword and my bow.
22 Je te donne, de plus qu'à tes frères, une part que j'ai prise de la main des Amoréens avec mon épée et avec mon arc.
