1 Now the land was in bitter need of food.

2 And when the grain which they had got in Egypt was all used up, their father said to them, Go again and get us a little food.
2 Quand ils eurent fini de manger le blé qu'ils avaient apporté d'Égypte, Jacob dit à ses fils: Retournez, achetez-nous un peu de vivres.
2 Nuair a bhí an t‑arbhar a thugadar leo ón Éigipt caite acu, dúirt an t‑athair leo: “Imígí ar ais agus ceannaigí beagán bia duinn.”
2 Y aconteció que como acabaron de comer el trigo que trajeron de Egipto, díjoles su padre: Volved, y comprad para nosotros un poco de alimento.
2 Und da es verzehrt war, was sie an Getreide aus Ägypten gebracht hatten, sprach ihr Vater zu ihnen: Zieht wieder hin und kauft uns ein wenig Speise.
3 And Judah said to him, The man said to us with an oath, You are not to come before me again without your brother.
3 Juda lui répondit: Cet homme nous a fait cette déclaration formelle: Vous ne verrez pas ma face, à moins que votre frère ne soit avec vous.
3 “An fear úd,” arsa Iúdá leis, “thug sé rabhadh sollúnta dúinn: ‘Ní ligfear isteach i mo láthair sibh gan bhur ndeartháir a bheith in bhur dteannta.’
3 Y respondió Judá, diciendo: Aquel varón nos protestó con ánimo resuelto, diciendo: No veréis mi rostro sin vuestro hermano con vosotros.
3 Da antwortete ihm Juda und sprach: Der Mann band uns das hart ein und sprach: Ihr sollt mein Angesicht nicht sehen, es sei denn euer Bruder mit euch.
4 If you will let our brother go with us, we will go down and get food:
4 Si donc tu veux envoyer notre frère avec nous, nous descendrons, et nous t'achèterons des vivres.
4 Má scaoileann tú ár ndeartháir inár dteannta, rachaimid síos agus ceannóimid bia duit.
4 Si enviares á nuestro hermano con nosotros, descenderemos y te compraremos alimento:
4 Ist's nun, daß du unsern Bruder mit uns sendest, so wollen wir hinabziehen und dir zu essen kaufen.
5 But if you will not send him, we will not go down: for the man said to us, You are not to come before me if your brother is not with you.
5 Mais si tu ne veux pas l'envoyer, nous ne descendrons point, car cet homme nous a dit: Vous ne verrez pas ma face, à moins que votre frère ne soit avec vous.
5 Ach mura scaoileann tú leis, ní rachaimidne síos mar dúirt sé siúd: ‘Ní ligfear isteach i mo láthair sibh, gan bhur ndeartháir a bheith in bhur dteannta.’ ”
5 Pero si no le enviares, no descenderemos: porque aquel varón nos dijo: No veréis mi rostro sin vuestro hermano con vosotros.
5 Ist's aber, daß du ihn nicht sendest, so ziehen wir nicht hinab. Denn der Mann hat gesagt zu uns: Ihr sollt mein Angesicht nicht sehen, euer Bruder sei denn mit euch.
6 And Israel said, Why were you so cruel to me as to say to him that you had a brother?
6 Israël dit alors: Pourquoi avez-vous mal agi à mon égard, en disant à cet homme que vous aviez encore un frère?
6 “Cad a ba áil libh,” arsa Iosrael, “a bheith do mo chiapadh mar sin agus a rá leis siúd go raibh deartháir eile agaibh?”
6 Y dijo Israel: ¿Por qué me hicisteis tanto mal, declarando al varón que teníais más hermano?
6 Israel sprach: Warum habt ihr so übel an mir getan, daß ihr dem Mann ansagtet, daß ihr noch einen Bruder habt?
7 And they said, The man put a number of questions to us about ourselves and our family, saying, Is your father still living? have you another brother? And we had to give him answers; how were we to have any idea that he would say, Come back with your brother?
7 Ils répondirent: Cet homme nous a interrogés sur nous et sur notre famille, en disant: Votre père vit-il encore? avez-vous un frère? Et nous avons répondu à ces questions. Pouvions-nous savoir qu'il dirait: Faites descendre votre frère?
7 D'fhreagraíodar é: “Cheistigh sé siúd sinn go mion inár dtaobh féin agus i dtaobh ár muintire, á rá: ‘An maireann bhur n‑athair? An bhfuil deartháir eile agaibh?’ Sin é an fáth a dtugamar an t‑eolas dó. Conas a bheadh a fhios againn ar aon chor go ndéarfadh sé: ‘Tugaigí bhur ndeartháir anuas libh’?”
7 Y ellos respondieron: Aquel varón nos preguntó expresamente por nosotros, y por nuestra parentela, diciendo: ¿Vive aún vuestro padre? ¿tenéis otro hermano? y declarámosle conforme á estas palabras. ¿Podíamos nosotros saber que había de decir: Haced venir á vuestro hermano?
7 Sie antworteten: Der Mann forschte so genau nach uns und unsrer Freundschaft und sprach: Lebt euer Vater noch? Habt ihr auch noch einen Bruder? Da sagten wir ihm, wie er uns fragte. Wie konnten wir wissen, daß er sagen würde: Bringt euren Bruder mit hernieder?
8 Then Judah said to Israel, his father, Send the boy with me, and let us be up and going, so that we and you and our little ones may not come to destruction.
8 Juda dit à Israël, son père: Laisse venir l'enfant avec moi, afin que nous nous levions et que nous partions; et nous vivrons et ne mourrons pas, nous, toi, et nos enfants.
8 Dúirt Iúdá lena athair Iosrael: “Scaoil an buachaill liomsa, agus cuirimis chun bóthair agus imímis linn chun nach bhfaighimis bás ach maireachtáil beo - sea sinne agus tusa agus ár muirear go léir chomh maith.
8 Entonces Judá dijo á Israel su padre: Envía al mozo conmigo, y nos levantaremos é iremos, á fin que vivamos y no muramos nosotros, y tú, y nuestros niños.
8 Da sprach Juda zu Israel, seinem Vater: Laß den Knaben mit mir ziehen, daß wir uns aufmachen und reisen, und leben und nicht sterben, wir und du und unsre Kindlein.
9 Put him into my care and make me responsible for him: if I do not give him safely back to you, let mine be the sin for ever.
9 Je réponds de lui; tu le redemanderas de ma main. Si je ne le ramène pas auprès de toi et si je ne le remets pas devant ta face, je serai pour toujours coupable envers toi.
9 Rachaidh mise i mbannaí ar an mbuachaill; beidh mé freagrach duit ann; mura dtuga mé ar ais chugat é agus é a chur ina sheasamh os do chomhair, ansin bíodh a mhilleán sin ormsa go brách.
9 Yo lo fío; á mí me pedirás cuenta de él: si yo no te lo volviere y lo pusiere delante de ti, seré para ti el culpante todos los días:
9 Ich will Bürge für ihn sein, von meinen Händen sollst du ihn fordern. Wenn ich dir ihn nicht wiederbringe und vor deine Augen stelle, so will ich mein Leben lang die Schuld tragen.
10 Truly, if we had not let the time go by, we might have come back again by now.
10 Car si nous n'eussions pas tardé, nous serions maintenant deux fois de retour.
10 Ach go deimhin féin mura mbeadh an mhoill seo, bheimis ar ais arís um an dtaca seo.”
10 Que si no nos hubiéramos detenido, cierto ahora hubiéramos ya vuelto dos veces.
10 Denn wo wir nicht hätten verzogen, wären wir schon wohl zweimal wiedergekommen.
11 Then their father Israel said to them, If it has to be so, then do this: take of the best fruits of the land in your vessels to give the man, perfumes and honey and spices and nuts:
11 Israël, leur père, leur dit: Puisqu'il le faut, faites ceci. Prenez dans vos sacs des meilleures productions du pays, pour en porter un présent à cet homme, un peu de baume et un peu de miel, des aromates, de la myrrhe, des pistaches et des amandes.
11 Ansin dúirt Iosrael an t‑athair leo: “Más éigean an scéal a bheith amhlaidh, déanaigí mar leanas: Cuirigí in bhur gcléibh cuid de thogha torthaí na tíre agus beirigí síos chuige siúd mar thabhartas beagán balsaim agus meala agus guma agus tragacant agus cnónna pistéise agus almóinne.
11 Entonces Israel su padre les respondió: Pues que así es, hacedlo; tomad de lo mejor de la tierra en vuestros vasos, y llevad á aquel varón un presente, un poco de bálsamo, y un poco de miel, aromas y mirra, nueces y almendras.
11 Da sprach Israel, ihr Vater, zu ihnen: Muß es denn ja also sein, so tut's und nehmt von des Landes besten Früchten in eure Säcke und bringt dem Manne Geschenke hinab: ein wenig Balsam und Honig, Würze und Myrrhe, Datteln und Mandeln.
12 And take twice as much money with you; that is to say, take back the money which was put in your bags, for it may have been an error;
12 Prenez avec vous de l'argent au double, et remportez l'argent qu'on avait mis à l'entrée de vos sacs: peut-être était-ce une erreur.
12 Tugaigí a dhá oiread airgid libh; tugaigí ar ais an t‑airgead a cuireadh i mbéal bhur málaí. B'fhéidir gur dearmad é.
12 Y tomad en vuestras manos doblado dinero, y llevad en vuestra mano el dinero vuelto en las bocas de vuestros costales; quizá fué yerro.
12 Nehmt auch anderes Geld mit euch; und das Geld, das euch oben in euren Säcken wieder geworden ist, bringt auch wieder mit euch. Vielleicht ist ein Irrtum da geschehen.
13 And take your brother and go back to the man:
13 Prenez votre frère, et levez-vous; retournez vers cet homme.
13 Tugaigí libh bhur ndeartháir agus seo libh ar ais chuige siúd.
13 Tomad también á vuestro hermano, y levantaos, y volved á aquel varón.
13 Dazu nehmt euren Bruder, macht euch auf und kommt wieder zu dem Manne.
14 And may God, the Ruler of all, give you mercy before the man, so that he may give you back your other brother and Benjamin. If my children are to be taken from me; there is no help for it.
14 Que le Dieu tout puissant vous fasse trouver grâce devant cet homme, et qu'il laisse revenir avec vous votre autre frère et Benjamin! Et moi, si je dois être privé de mes enfants, que j'en sois privé!
14 Go ndeonaí Dia Uilechumhachtach trócaire daoibh ina láthair siúd i dtreo go seolfaidh sé ar ais bhur ndeartháir eile in éineacht le Biniáimin. Maidir liomsa, más é atá i ndán dom mo chlann a chailliúint, caillfidh mé iad.”
14 Y el Dios Omnipotente os dé misericordias delante de aquel varón, y os suelte al otro vuestro hermano, y á este Benjamín. Y si he de ser privado de mis hijos, séalo.
14 Aber der allmächtige Gott gebe euch Barmherzigkeit vor dem Manne, daß er euch lasse euren andern Bruder und Benjamin. Ich aber muß sein wie einer, der seiner Kinder gar beraubt ist.
15 So they took what their father said for the man, and twice as much money in their hands, and Benjamin, and went on their journey to Egypt, and came before Joseph.
15 Ils prirent le présent; ils prirent avec eux de l'argent au double, ainsi que Benjamin; ils se levèrent, descendirent en Égypte, et se présentèrent devant Joseph.
15 Thóg na fir an tabhartas ansin: thugadar a dhá oiread airgid leo - agus Biniáimin. Chuireadar chun bóthair agus síos leo go dtí an Éigipt agus isteach i láthair Iósaef.
15 Entonces tomaron aquellos varones el presente, y tomaron en su mano doblado dinero, y á Benjamín; y se levantaron, y descendieron á Egipto, y presentáronse delante de José.
15 Da nahmen sie diese Geschenke und das Geld zwiefältig mit sich und Benjamin, machten sich auf, zogen nach Ägypten und traten vor Joseph.
16 And when Joseph saw Benjamin, he said to his chief servant, Take these men into my house, and make ready a meal, for they will take food with me in the middle of the day.
16 Dès que Joseph vit avec eux Benjamin, il dit à son intendant: Fais entrer ces gens dans la maison, tue et apprête; car ces gens mangeront avec moi à midi.
16 Nuair a chonaic Iósaef Biniáimin faru dúirt sé lena reachtaire: “Beir leat iad seo chun an tí, agus maraigh mart agus cóirigh bia, mar beidh bia acu seo liom um nóin.”
16 Y vió José á Benjamín con ellos, y dijo al mayordomo de su casa: Mete en casa á esos hombres, y degüella víctima, y aderéza la; porque estos hombres comerán conmigo al medio día.
16 Da sah sie Joseph mit Benjamin und sprach zu seinem Haushalter: Führe diese Männer ins Haus und schlachte und richte zu; denn sie sollen zu Mittag mit mir essen.
17 And the servant did as Joseph said, and took the men into Joseph's house.
17 Cet homme fit ce que Joseph avait ordonné, et il conduisit ces gens dans la maison de Joseph.
17 Rinne seisean rud ar Iósaef agus thug na fir go teach Iósaef;
17 E hizo el hombre como José dijo; y metió aquel hombre á los hombres en casa de José.
17 Und der Mann tat, wie ihm Joseph gesagt hatte, und führte die Männer in Josephs Haus.
18 Now the men were full of fear because they had been taken into Joseph's house and they said, It is because of the money which was put back in our bags the first time; he is looking for something against us, so that he may come down on us and take us and our asses for his use.
18 Ils eurent peur lorsqu'ils furent conduits à la maison de Joseph, et ils dirent: C'est à cause de l'argent remis l'autre fois dans nos sacs qu'on nous emmène; c'est pour se jeter sur nous, se précipiter sur nous; c'est pour nous prendre comme esclaves, et s'emparer de nos ânes.
18 tháinig eagla orthusan mar go rabhadar á mbreith go teach Iósaef agus dúradar: “Táthar dár dtabhairt ann de bharr an airgid a cuireadh ar ais inár málaí arbhair an chéad uair; tabharfaidh siad fúinn; ionsóidh siad sinn agus déanfaidh siad daoir dínn agus gabhfaidh siad ár n‑asail mar an gcéanna.”
18 Y aquellos hombres tuvieron temor, cuando fueron metidos en casa de José, y decían: Por el dinero que fué vuelto en nuestros costales la primera vez nos han metido aquí, para revolver contra nosotros, y dar sobre nosotros, y tomarnos por siervos á nosotros, y á nuestros asnos.
18 Sie fürchteten sich aber, daß sie in Josephs Haus geführt wurden und sprachen: Wir sind hereingeführt um des Geldes willen, das wir in unsern Säcken das erstemal wiedergefunden haben, daß er's auf uns bringe und fälle ein Urteil über uns, damit er uns nehme zu eigenen Knechten samt unsern Eseln.
19 So they went up to Joseph's chief servant at the door of the house,
19 Ils s'approchèrent de l'intendant de la maison de Joseph, et lui adressèrent la parole, à l'entrée de la maison.
19 Suas leo dá bhrí sin chun reachtaire Iósaef agus labhair siad leis ar thairseach an tí:
19 Y llegáronse al mayordomo de la casa de José, y le hablaron á la entrada de la casa.
19 Darum traten sie zu Josephs Haushalter und redeten mit ihm vor der Haustür
20 And said, O my lord, we only came down the first time to get food;
20 Ils dirent: Pardon! mon seigneur, nous sommes déjà descendus une fois pour acheter des vivres.
20 “A thiarna,” ar siad, “thángamar anuas an chéad uair chun bia a cheannach.
20 Y dijeron: Ay, señor mío, nosotros en realidad de verdad descendimos al principio á comprar alimentos:
20 und sprachen: Mein Herr, wir sind das erstemal herabgezogen Speise zu kaufen,
21 And when we came to our night's resting-place, on opening our bags we saw that every man's money was in the mouth of his bag, all our money in full weight: and we have it with us to give it back;
21 Puis, quand nous arrivâmes, au lieu où nous devions passer la nuit, nous avons ouvert nos sacs; et voici, l'argent de chacun était à l'entrée de son sac, notre argent selon son poids: nous le rapportons avec nous.
21 Nuair a shroicheamar mar a rabhamar chun fanacht thar oíche, d'osclaíomar ár málaí agus b'shiúd airgead gach duine i mbéal a mhála, gan pioc de in easnamh; thugamar linn arís é dá bhrí sin,
21 Y aconteció que como vinimos al mesón y abrimos nuestros costales, he aquí el dinero de cada uno estaba en la boca de su costal, nuestro dinero en su justo peso; y hémoslo vuelto en nuestras manos.
21 und da wir in die Herberge kamen und unsere Säcke auftaten, siehe, da war eines jeglichen Geld oben in seinem Sack mit völligem Gewicht; darum haben wir's wieder mit uns gebracht,
22 As well as more money, with which to get food: we have no idea who put our money in our bags.
22 Nous avons aussi apporté d'autre argent, pour acheter des vivres. Nous ne savons pas qui avait mis notre argent dans nos sacs.
22 agus thugamar a thuilleadh airgid linn anuas chomh maith chun bia a cheannach. Ní eol dúinn cé chuir ár gcuid airgid inár málaí arbhair.”
22 Hemos también traído en nuestras manos otro dinero para comprar alimentos: nosotros no sabemos quién haya puesto nuestro dinero en nuestros costales.
22 haben auch anderes Geld mit uns hergebracht, Speise zu kaufen; wir wissen aber nicht, wer uns unser Geld in unsre Säcke gesteckt hat.
23 Then the servant said, Peace be with you: have no fear: your God, even the God of your father, has put wealth in your bags for you: I had your money. Then he let Simeon come out to them.
23 L'intendant répondit: Que la paix soit avec vous! Ne craignez rien. C'est votre Dieu, le Dieu de votre père, qui vous a donné un trésor dans vos sacs. Votre argent m'est parvenu. Et il leur amena Siméon.
23 “Síocháin daoibh; ná bíodh eagla oraibh,” ar sé. “Is é bhur nDia agus Dia bhur n‑athar a chuir an mhaoin in bhur málaí arbhair daoibh. Fuaireas bhur n‑airgead slán iomlán.” Thug sé Simeon amach chucu ansin.
23 Y él respondió: Paz á vosotros, no temáis; vuestro Dios y el Dios de vuestro padre os dió el tesoro en vuestros costales: vuestro dinero vino á mí. Y sacó á Simeón á ellos.
23 Er aber sprach: Gehabt euch wohl, fürchtet euch nicht. Euer Gott hat euch einen Schatz gegeben in eure Säcke. Euer Geld ist mir geworden. Und er führte Simeon zu ihnen heraus
24 And the servant took them into Joseph's house, and gave them water for washing their feet; and he gave their asses food.
24 Cet homme les fit entrer dans la maison de Joseph; il leur donna de l'eau et ils se lavèrent les pieds; il donna aussi du fourrage à leurs ânes.
24 Thug an fear isteach i dteach Iósaef iad ansin agus thug uisce chucu; níodar a gcosa; thug sé siúd foráiste dá n‑asail;
24 Y metió aquel varón á aquellos hombres en casa de José: y dióles agua, y lavaron sus pies: y dió de comer á sus asnos.
24 und führte sie in Josephs Haus, gab ihnen Wasser, daß sie ihre Füße wuschen, und gab ihren Eseln Futter.
25 And they got ready the things for Joseph before he came in the middle of the day: for word was given to them that they were to have a meal there.
25 Ils préparèrent leur présent, en attendant que Joseph vienne à midi; car on les avait informés qu'ils mangeraient chez lui.
25 chóiríodarsan a dtabhartas agus iad ag feitheamh le Iósaef a theacht um nóin, mar dúradh leo go rabhadar chun bia a chaitheamh ansiúd.
25 Y ellos prepararon el presente entretanto que venía José al medio día, porque habían oído que allí habían de comer pan.
25 Sie aber bereiteten das Geschenk zu, bis das Joseph kam auf den Mittag; denn sie hatten gehört, daß sie daselbst das Brot essen sollten.
26 And when Joseph came in, they gave him the things which they had for him, and went down to the earth before him.
26 Quand Joseph fut arrivé à la maison, ils lui offrirent le présent qu'ils avaient apporté, et ils se prosternèrent en terre devant lui.
26 Nuair a tháinig Iósaef abhaile thugadar isteach chuige an tabhartas a bhí acu agus shléachtadar go talamh dó.
26 Y vino José á casa, y ellos le trajeron el presente que tenían en su mano dentro de casa, é inclináronse á él hasta tierra.
26 Da nun Joseph zum Hause einging, brachten sie ihm ins Haus das Geschenk in ihren Händen und fielen vor ihm nieder zur Erde.
27 And he said, How are you? is your father well, the old man of whom you were talking to me? is he still living?
27 Il leur demanda comment ils se portaient; et il dit: Votre vieux père, dont vous avez parlé, est-il en bonne santé? vit-il encore?
27 Agus chuir sé ceist orthu conas mar a bhí acu, agus dúirt: “An bhfuil bhur n‑athair ar fónamh? - an seanfhear a luaigh sibh? An maireann sé fós?”
27 Entonces les preguntó él cómo estaban, y dijo: ¿Vuestro padre, el anciano que dijisteis, lo pasa bien? ¿vive todavía?
27 Er aber grüßte sie freundlich und sprach: Geht es eurem Vater, dem Alten, wohl, von dem ihr mir sagtet? Lebt er noch?
28 And they said, Your servant, our father, is well, he is still living. And they went down on their faces before him.
28 Ils répondirent: Ton serviteur, notre père, est en bonne santé; il vit encore. Et ils s'inclinèrent et se prosternèrent.
28 “Tá do shearbhónta, ár n‑athair, ar fónamh,” ar siad, “agus maireann sé fós”; agus chromadar a gceann agus rinneadar umhlaíocht dó.
28 Y ellos respondieron: Bien va á tu siervo nuestro padre; aun vive. Y se inclinaron, é hicieron reverencia.
28 Sie antworteten: Es geht deinem Knechte, unserm Vater, wohl, und er lebt noch. Und sie neigten sich und fielen vor ihm nieder.
29 Then, lifting up his eyes, he saw Benjamin, his brother, his mother's son, and he said, Is this your youngest brother of whom you gave me word? And he said, God be good to you, my son.
29 Joseph leva les yeux; et, jetant un regard sur Benjamin, son frère, fils de sa mère, il dit: Est-ce là votre jeune frère, dont vous m'avez parlé? Et il ajouta: Dieu te fasse miséricorde, mon fils!
29 D'fhéach seisean suas ansin agus chonaic a dheartháir Biniáimin, mac a mháthar; “An é seo,” ar sé, “an deartháir is óige agaibh, an té a luaigh sibh liom? Go soirbhí Dia duit, a mhic.”
29 Y alzando él sus ojos vió á Benjamín su hermano, hijo de su madre, y dijo: ¿Es éste vuestro hermano menor, de quien me hablasteis? Y dijo: Dios tenga misericordia de ti, hijo mío.
29 Und er hob seine Augen auf und sah seinen Bruder Benjamin, seiner Mutter Sohn, und sprach: Ist das euer jüngster Bruder, von dem ihr mir sagtet? und sprach weiter: Gott sei dir gnädig, mein Sohn!
30 Then Joseph's heart went out to his brother, and he went quickly into his room, for he was overcome with weeping.
30 Ses entrailles étaient émues pour son frère, et il avait besoin de pleurer; il entra précipitamment dans une chambre, et il y pleura.
30 Ansin amach le Iósaef láithreach mar gur tháinig tocht ar a chroí nuair a chonaic sé a dheartháir, agus bhí na deora ag bagairt air. Isteach leis ina sheomra agus ghoil sé ansiúd.
30 Entonces José se apresuró, porque se conmovieron sus entrañas á causa de su hermano, y procuró donde llorar: y entróse en su cámara, y lloró allí.
30 Und Joseph eilte, denn sein Herz entbrannte ihm gegen seinen Bruder, und suchte, wo er weinte, und ging in seine Kammer und weinte daselbst.
31 Then, after washing his face, he came out, and controlling his feelings said, Put food before us.
31 Après s'être lavé le visage, il en sortit; et, faisant des efforts pour se contenir, il dit: Servez à manger.
31 Ansin nigh sé a aghaidh agus tháinig amach; ansin, agus greim ar a chroí aige, dúirt sé: “Dáiltear an bia.”
31 Y lavó su rostro, y salió fuera, y reprimióse, y dijo: Poned pan.
31 Und da er sein Angesicht gewaschen hatte, ging er heraus und hielt sich fest und sprach: Legt Brot auf!
32 And they put a meal ready for him by himself, and for them by themselves, and for the Egyptians who were with him by themselves; because the Egyptians may not take food with the Hebrews, for that would make them unclean.
32 On servit Joseph à part, et ses frères à part; les Égyptiens qui mangeaient avec lui furent aussi servis à part, car les Égyptiens ne pouvaient pas manger avec les Hébreux, parce que c'est à leurs yeux une abomination.

33 And they were all given their seats before him in order of birth, from the oldest to the youngest: so that they were looking at one another in wonder.

33 Und man setzte sie ihm gegenüber, den Erstgeborenen nach seiner Erstgeburt und den Jüngsten nach seiner Jugend. Des verwunderten sie sich untereinander.
34 And Joseph sent food to them from his table, but he sent five times as much to Benjamin as to any of the others. And they took wine freely with him.
34 Joseph leur fit porter des mets qui étaient devant lui, et Benjamin en eut cinq fois plus que les autres. Ils burent, et s'égayèrent avec lui.
