1 Now Joseph was taken down to Egypt; and Potiphar the Egyptian, a captain of high position in Pharaoh's house, got him for a price from the Ishmaelites who had taken him there.
1 On fit descendre Joseph en Égypte; et Potiphar, officier de Pharaon, chef des gardes, Égyptien, l'acheta des Ismaélites qui l'y avaient fait descendre.
1 Tugadh Iósaef síos chun na hÉigipte. Cheannaigh Póitífear, feidhmeannach le Forann, agus captaen an gharda, é ó na hIsméiligh a thug síos ann é.
1 Y Llevado José á Egipto, comprólo Potiphar, eunuco de Faraón, capitán de los de la guardia, varón Egipcio, de mano de los Ismaelitas que lo habían llevado allá.
1 Joseph ward hinab nach Ägypten geführt; und Potiphar, ein ägyptischer Mann, des Pharao Kämmerer und Hauptmann, kaufte ihn von den Ismaeliten, die ihn hinabbrachten.
2 And the Lord was with Joseph, and he did well; and he was living in the house of his master the Egyptian.
2 L'Éternel fut avec lui, et la prospérité l'accompagna; il habitait dans la maison de son maître, l'Égyptien.
2 Bhí an Tiarna le Iósaef agus d'éirigh leis ina ghnóthaí go léir, agus bhí cónaí air i dteach a mháistir, an tÉigipteach,
2 Mas Jehová fué con José, y fué varón prosperado: y estaba en la casa de su señor el Egipcio.
2 Und der HERR war mit Joseph, daß er ein glücklicher Mann ward; und er war in seines Herrn, des Ägypters, Hause.
3 And his master saw that the Lord was with him, making everything he did go well.
3 Son maître vit que l'Éternel était avec lui, et que l'Éternel faisait prospérer entre ses mains tout ce qu'il entreprenait.
3 agus nuair a chonaic a mháistir go raibh an Tiarna le Iósaef, agus conas mar a chuir an Tiarna a bhail ar gach ní dar ghabh sé i láimh,
3 Y vió su señor que Jehová era con él, y que todo lo que él hacía, Jehová lo hacía prosperar en su mano.
3 Und sein Herr sah, daß der HERR mit ihm war; denn alles, was er tat, dazu gab der HERR Glück durch ihn,
4 And having a high opinion of Joseph as his servant, he made him the overseer of his house and gave him control over all he had.
4 Joseph trouva grâce aux yeux de son maître, qui l'employa à son service, l'établit sur sa maison, et lui confia tout ce qu'il possédait.
4 bhí lé aige le Iósaef agus rinne seisean fónamh dó; agus chuir a mháistir i bhfeighil a theaghlaigh é agus chuir sé gach ní aige faoina chúram.
4 Así halló José gracia en sus ojos, y servíale; y él le hizo mayordomo de su casa, y entregó en su poder todo lo que tenía.
4 Also daß er Gnade fand vor seinem Herrn und sein Diener ward. Der setzte ihn über sein Haus, und alles, was er hatte, tat er unter seine Hände.
5 And from the time when he made him overseer and gave him control of all his property, the blessing of the Lord was with the Egyptian, because of Joseph; the blessing of the Lord was on all he had, in the house and in the field.
5 Dès que Potiphar l'eut établi sur sa maison et sur tout ce qu'il possédait, l'Éternel bénit la maison de l'Égyptien, à cause de Joseph; et la bénédiction de l'Éternel fut sur tout ce qui lui appartenait, soit à la maison, soit aux champs.
5 Ón lá a chuir sé i bhfeighil a theaghlaigh é, agus i bhfeighil a mhaoine go léir, chuir an Tiarna a bheannacht ar theaghlach an Éigiptigh ar son Iósaef. Chuir an Tiarna a bheannacht ar a mhaoin go léir istigh agus amuigh.
5 Y aconteció que, desde cuando le dió el encargo de su casa, y de todo lo que tenía, Jehová bendijo la casa del Egipcio á causa de José; y la bendición de Jehová fué sobre todo lo que tenía, así en casa como en el campo.
5 Und von der Zeit an, da er ihn über sein Haus und alle seine Güter gesetzt hatte, segnete der HERR des Ägypters Haus um Josephs willen; und war eitel Segen des HERRN in allem, was er hatte, zu Hause und auf dem Felde.
6 And he gave Joseph control of all his property, keeping no account of anything, but only the food which was put before him. Now Joseph was very beautiful in form and face.
6 Il abandonna aux mains de Joseph tout ce qui lui appartenait, et il n'avait avec lui d'autre soin que celui de prendre sa nourriture. Or, Joseph était beau de taille et beau de figure.
6 D'fhág sé Iósaef dá bhrí sin i mbun a mhaoine go léir, agus leis-sean ar láimh, ní raibh de chúram air féin ach an bia a chaitheadh sé. Bhí Iósaef córach dathúil,
6 Y dejó todo lo que tenía en mano de José; ni con él sabía de nada más que del pan que comía. Y era José de hermoso semblante y bella presencia.
6 Darum ließ er alles unter Josephs Händen, was er hatte, und nahm sich keines Dinges an, solange er ihn hatte, nur daß er aß und trank. Und Joseph war schön und hübsch von Angesicht.
7 And after a time, his master's wife, looking on Joseph with desire, said to him, Be my lover.
7 Après ces choses, il arriva que la femme de son maître porta les yeux sur Joseph, et dit: Couche avec moi!
7 agus tar éis tamaill leag bean a mháistir súil na dúile ar Iósaef agus dúirt leis: “Luigh liom.”
7 Y aconteció después de esto, que la mujer de su señor puso sus ojos en José, y dijo: Duerme conmigo.
7 Und es begab sich nach dieser Geschichte, daß seines Herrn Weib ihre Augen auf Joseph warf und sprach: Schlafe bei mir!
8 But he would not, and said to her, You see that my master keeps no account of what I do in his house, and has put all his property in my control;
8 Il refusa, et dit à la femme de son maître: Voici, mon maître ne prend avec moi connaissance de rien dans la maison, et il a remis entre mes mains tout ce qui lui appartient.
8 Ach d'eitigh seisean agus dúirt sé le bean a mháistir: “Féach! de bhrí go bhfuilimse aige, ní chuireann aon ní dá dtarlaíonn sa teach aon mhairg ar mo mháistir; tá gach a bhfuil aige curtha aige faoi mo láimh.
8 Y él no quiso, y dijo á la mujer de su señor: He aquí que mi señor no sabe conmigo lo que hay en casa, y ha puesto en mi mano todo lo que tiene:
8 Er weigerte sich aber und sprach zu ihr: Siehe, mein Herr nimmt sich keines Dinges an vor mir, was im Hause ist, und alles, was er hat, das hat er unter meine Hände getan,
9 So that no one has more authority in this house than I have; he has kept nothing back from me but you, because you are his wife; how then may I do this great wrong, sinning against God?
9 Il n'est pas plus grand que moi dans cette maison, et il ne m'a rien interdit, excepté toi, parce que tu es sa femme. Comment ferais-je un aussi grand mal et pécherais-je contre Dieu?
9 Ní mó de mháistir sa teach seo é ná mé féin; níor dhiúltaigh sé aon ní dom ach tú féin ós tú a bhean. Conas a d'fhéadfainnse a leithéid seo de choir ghránna a dhéanamh agus peaca a dhéanamh in aghaidh Dé?”
9 No hay otro mayor que yo en esta casa, y ninguna cosa me ha reservado sino á ti, por cuanto tú eres su mujer; ¿cómo, pues, haría yo este grande mal y pecaría contra Dios?
9 und hat nichts so Großes in dem Hause, das er mir verhohlen habe, außer dir, indem du sein Weib bist. Wie sollte ich denn nun ein solch groß Übel tun und wider Gott sündigen?
10 And day after day she went on requesting Joseph to come to her and be her lover, but he would not give ear to her.
10 Quoiqu'elle parlât tous les jours à Joseph, il refusa de coucher auprès d'elle, d'être avec elle.
10 Cé go labhraíodh sí le Iósaef ó lá go lá, ní aontódh sé luí léi ná géilleadh di.
10 Y fué que hablando ella á José cada día, y no escuchándola él para acostarse al lado de ella, para estar con ella.
10 Und sie trieb solche Worte gegen Joseph täglich. Aber er gehorchte ihr nicht, daß er nahe bei ihr schliefe noch um sie wäre.
11 Now one day he went into the house to do his work; and not one of the men of the house was inside.
11 Un jour qu'il était entré dans la maison pour faire son ouvrage, et qu'il n'y avait là aucun des gens de la maison,
11 Lá áirithe chuaigh Iósaef chun an tí i mbun a chúraimí agus ní raibh aon duine de fhoireann an tí ansiúd istigh.
11 Aconteció que entró él un día en casa para hacer su oficio, y no había nadie de los de casa allí en casa.
11 Es begab sich eines Tages, daß Joseph in das Haus ging, sein Geschäft zu tun, und war kein Mensch vom Gesinde des Hauses dabei.
12 And pulling at his coat, she said, Come to my bed; but slipping out of his coat, he went running away.
12 elle le saisit par son vêtement, en disant: Couche avec moi! Il lui laissa son vêtement dans la main, et s'enfuit au dehors.
12 Rug an bhean ar bhrat air agus dúirt: “Luigh liom.” Ach d'fhág sé a bhrat ina láimh agus theith uaithi as an teach amach.
12 Y asiólo ella por su ropa, diciendo: Duerme conmigo. Entonces dejóla él su ropa en las manos, y huyó, y salióse fuera.
12 Und sie erwischte ihn bei seinem Kleid und sprach: Schlafe bei mir! Aber er ließ das Kleid in ihrer Hand und floh und lief zum Hause hinaus.
13 And when she saw that he had got away, letting her keep his coat,
13 Lorsqu'elle vit qu'il lui avait laissé son vêtement dans la main, et qu'il s'était enfui dehors,
13 Nuair a chonaic sí gur fhág sé a bhrat aici ina láimh agus gur theith sé ón teach,
13 Y acaeció que cuando vió ella que le había dejado su ropa en sus manos, y había huído fuera,
13 Da sie nun sah, daß er sein Kleid in ihrer Hand ließ und hinaus entfloh,
14 She sent for the men of her house and said to them, See, he has let a Hebrew come here and make sport of us; he came to my bed, and I gave a loud cry;
14 elle appela les gens de sa maison, et leur dit: Voyez, il nous a amené un Hébreu pour se jouer de nous. Cet homme est venu vers moi pour coucher avec moi; mais j'ai crié à haute voix.
14 ghlaoigh sí ar a searbhóntaí agus dúirt sí leo: “Féach air sin! Thug sé Eabhrach chugainn chun masla a thabhairt dúinn! Tháinig sé isteach chugam chun luí liom, ach liúigh mé in ard mo chinn,
14 Llamó á los de casa, y hablóles diciendo: Mirad, nos ha traído un Hebreo, para que hiciese burla de nosotros: vino él á mí para dormir conmigo, y yo dí grandes voces;
14 rief sie das Gesinde im Hause und sprach zu ihnen: Sehet, er hat uns den hebräischen Mann hereingebracht, daß er seinen Mutwillen mit uns treibe. Er kam zu mir herein und wollte bei mir schlafen; ich rief aber mit lauter Stimme.
15 And hearing it he went running out without his coat.
15 Et quand il a entendu que j'élevais la voix et que je criais, il a laissé son vêtement à côté de moi et s'est enfui dehors.
15 agus nuair a chuala sé mo liú agus mo bhéic, d'fhág sé a bhrat agam agus theith agus d'éalaigh ón teach.”
15 Y viendo que yo alzaba la voz y gritaba, dejó junto á mí su ropa, y huyó, y salióse fuera.
15 Und da er hörte, daß ich ein Geschrei machte und rief, da ließ er sein Kleid bei mir und lief hinaus.
16 And she kept his coat by her, till his master came back.
16 Et elle posa le vêtement de Joseph à côté d'elle, jusqu'à ce que son maître rentrât à la maison.
16 Choinnigh sí an brat ansiúd lena taobh go dtí gur tháinig a mháistir abhaile,
16 Y ella puso junto á sí la ropa de él, hasta que vino su señor á su casa.
16 Und sie legte sein Kleid neben sich, bis der Herr heimkam,
17 Then she gave him the same story, saying, The Hebrew servant whom you have taken into our house came in to make sport of me;
17 Alors elle lui parla ainsi: L'esclave hébreu que tu nous as amené est venu vers moi pour se jouer de moi.
17 agus d'inis sí an scéal céanna dó: “An daor Eabhrach a thug tú dúinn,” ar sí, “tháinig sé isteach chugam do mo mhaslú.
17 Entonces le habló ella semejantes palabras, diciendo: El siervo Hebreo que nos trajiste, vino á mí para deshonrarme;
17 und sagte zu ihm ebendieselben Worte und sprach: Der hebräische Knecht, den du uns hereingebracht hast, kam zu mir herein und wollte seinen Mutwillen mit mir treiben.
18 And when I gave a loud cry he went running out without his coat.
18 Et comme j'ai élevé la voix et que j'ai crié, il a laissé son vêtement à côté de moi et s'est enfui dehors.
18 Ach a luaithe a ligeas liú asam, in ard mo chinn, d'fhág sé a bhrat agam agus theith on teach amach.”
18 Y como yo alcé mi voz y grite, él dejó su ropa junto á mí, y huyó fuera.
18 Da ich aber ein Geschrei machte und rief, da ließ er sein Kleid bei mir und floh hinaus.
19 And hearing his wife's account of what his servant had done, he became very angry.
19 Après avoir entendu les paroles de sa femme, qui lui disait: Voilà ce que m'a fait ton esclave! le maître de Joseph fut enflammé de colère.
19 Nuair a chuala a mháistir na focail a labhair a bhean leis: “Mar sin a rinne do shearbhónta liom,” las sé le fearg.
19 Y sucedió que como oyó su señor las palabras que su mujer le hablara, diciendo: Así me ha tratado tu siervo; encendióse su furor.
19 Als sein Herr hörte die Rede seines Weibes, die sie ihm sagte und sprach: Also hat mir dein Knecht getan, ward er sehr zornig.
20 And Joseph's master took him and put him in prison, in the place where the king's prisoners were kept in chains, and he was there in the prison-house.
20 Il prit Joseph, et le mit dans la prison, dans le lieu où les prisonniers du roi étaient enfermés: il fut là, en prison.
20 Ghabh máistir Iósaef é agus chuir é sa charcair ina gcoimeádtaí príosúnaigh an rí, agus d'fhan sé ansiúd faoi ghlas.
20 Y tomó su señor á José, y púsole en la casa de la cárcel, donde estaban los presos del rey, y estuvo allí en la casa de la cárcel.
20 Da nahm ihn sein Herr und legte ihn ins Gefängnis, darin des Königs Gefangene lagen; und er lag allda im Gefängnis.
21 But the Lord was with Joseph, and was good to him, and made the keeper of the prison his friend.
21 L'Éternel fut avec Joseph, et il étendit sur lui sa bonté. Il le mit en faveur aux yeux du chef de la prison.
21 Ach bhí an Tiarna fara Iósaef: bhí sé cineálta leis agus fuair fabhar dó i láthair an phríomhshéiléara.
21 Mas Jehová fué con José, y extendió á él su misericordia, y dióle gracia en ojos del principal de la casa de la cárcel.
21 Aber der HERR war mit ihm und neigte seine Huld zu ihm und ließ ihn Gnade finden vor dem Amtmann über das Gefängnis,
22 And the keeper of the prison put all the prisoners under Joseph's control, and he was responsible for whatever was done there.
22 Et le chef de la prison plaça sous sa surveillance tous les prisonniers qui étaient dans la prison; et rien ne s'y faisait que par lui.
22 Chuir an priomhshéiléir na príosúnaigh eile go léir sa charcair faoi chúram Iósaef; bhí sé i bhfeighil gach gnó a bhí ar siúl ann.
22 Y el principal de la casa de la cárcel entregó en mano de José todos los presos que había en aquella prisión; todo lo que hacían allí, él lo hacía.
22 daß er ihm unter seine Hand befahl alle Gefangenen im Gefängnis, auf daß alles, was da geschah, durch ihn geschehen mußte.
23 And the keeper of the prison gave no attention to anything which was under his care, because the Lord was with him; and the Lord made everything he did go well.
23 Le chef de la prison ne prenait aucune connaissance de ce que Joseph avait en main, parce que l'Éternel était avec lui. Et l'Éternel donnait de la réussite à ce qu'il faisait.
