1 Then Jacob, lifting up his eyes, saw Esau coming with his four hundred men. So he made a division of the children between Leah and Rachel and the two women-servants.
1 Jacob leva les yeux, et regarda; et voici, Ésaü arrivait, avec quatre cents hommes. Il répartit les enfants entre Léa, Rachel, et les deux servantes.

1 Y Alzando Jacob sus ojos miró, y he aquí venía Esaú, y los cuatrocientos hombres con él: entonces repartió él los niños entre Lea y Rachêl y las dos siervas.
1 Jakob hob seine Augen auf und sah seinen Bruder Esau kommen mit vierhundert Mann. Und er teilte seine Kinder zu Lea und Rahel und zu den beiden Mägden
2 He put the servants and their children in front, Leah and her children after them, and Rachel and Joseph at the back.
2 Il plaça en tête les servantes avec leurs enfants, puis Léa avec ses enfants, et enfin Rachel avec Joseph.
2 Chuir sé an bheirt ionailt agus a leanaí ar tosach, agus Léá agus a leanaí ina ndiaidh, agus Ráchael agus Iósaef ar deireadh.
2 Y puso las siervas y sus niños delante; luego á Lea y á sus niños; y á Rachêl y á José los postreros.
2 und stellte die Mägde mit ihren Kindern vornean und Lea mit ihren Kindern hernach und Rahel mit Joseph zuletzt.
3 And he himself, going before them, went down on his face to the earth seven times till he came near his brother.
3 Lui-même passa devant eux; et il se prosterna en terre sept fois, jusqu'à ce qu'il fût près de son frère.

3 Und er ging vor ihnen her und neigte sich siebenmal auf die Erde, bis er zu seinem Bruder kam.
4 Then Esau came running up to him, and folding him in his arms, gave him a kiss: and the two of them were overcome with weeping.
4 Ésaü courut à sa rencontre; il l'embrassa, se jeta à son cou, et le baisa. Et ils pleurèrent.
4 Ach rith Éasau ina choinne, theann lena ucht é, chaith é féin ar a mhuineál, phóg é agus na deora leis.
4 Y Esaú corrió á su encuentro, y abrazóle, y echóse sobre su cuello, y le besó; y lloraron.
4 Esau aber lief ihm entgegen und herzte ihn und fiel ihm um den Hals und küßte ihn; und sie weinten.
5 Then Esau, lifting up his eyes, saw the women and the children, and said, Who are these with you? And he said, The children whom God in his mercy has given to your servant.
5 Ésaü, levant les yeux, vit les femmes et les enfants, et il dit: Qui sont ceux que tu as là? Et Jacob répondit: Ce sont les enfants que Dieu a accordés à ton serviteur.
5 Ar ardú a shúl do Éasau, chonaic sé na mná agus na miondaoine. “Cé hiad seo i do theannta?” ar sé. “An chlann a bhronn Dia ar do shearbhónta,” arsa Iacób.
5 Y alzó sus ojos, y vió las mujeres y los niños, y dijo: ¿Qué te tocan éstos? Y él respondió: Son los niños que Dios ha dado á tu siervo.
5 Und er hob seine Augen auf und sah die Weiber mit den Kindern und sprach: Wer sind diese bei dir? Er antwortete: Es sind Kinder, die Gott deinem Knecht beschert hat.
6 Then the servants and their children came near, and went down on their faces.
6 Les servantes s'approchèrent, elles et leurs enfants, et se prosternèrent;
6 Ansin tháinig na hionailtí agus a gclann i láthair agus shléachtadar.
6 Y se llegaron las siervas, ellas y sus niños, é inclináronse.
6 Und die Mägde traten herzu mit ihren Kindern und neigten sich vor ihm.
7 And Leah came near with her children, and then Joseph and Rachel, and they did the same.
7 Léa et ses enfants s'approchèrent aussi, et se prosternèrent; ensuite Joseph et Rachel s'approchèrent, et se prosternèrent.
7 Ansin tháinig Léá i láthair mar an gcéanna lena clann agus shléachtadar go léir. Ar deireadh tháinig Iósaef agus Ráchael i láthair agus shléachtadar.
7 Y llegóse Lea con sus niños, é inclináronse: y después llegó José y Rachêl, y también se inclinaron.
7 Lea trat auch herzu mit ihren Kindern und neigten sich vor ihm. Darnach trat Joseph und Rahel herzu und neigten sich auch vor ihm.
8 And he said, What were all those herds which I saw on the way? And Jacob said, They were an offering so that I might have grace in my lord's eyes.
8 Ésaü dit: A quoi destines-tu tout ce camp que j'ai rencontré? Et Jacob répondit: A trouver grâce aux yeux de mon seigneur.
8 Dúirt Éasau: “Cén chiall atá agat leis na sluaite go léir a casadh orm?” “Chun dea-mhéin a thuilleamh i láthair mo mháistir, iadsan,” a fhreagair Iacób.
8 Y él dijo: ¿Qué te propones con todas estas cuadrillas que he encontrado? Y él respondió: El hallar gracia en los ojos de mi señor.
8 Und er sprach: Was willst du mit all dem Heere, dem ich begegnet bin? Er antwortete: Daß ich Gnade fände vor meinem Herrn.
9 But Esau said, I have enough; keep what is yours, my brother, for yourself.
9 Ésaü dit: Je suis dans l'abondance, mon frère; garde ce qui est à toi.
9 “Ach, a bhráthair,” arsa Éasau, “tá mo dhóthain agamsa. Coinnigh duit féin a bhfuil agat.”
9 Y dijo Esaú: Harto tengo yo, hermano mío: sea para ti lo que es tuyo.
9 Esau sprach: Ich habe genug, mein Bruder; behalte was du hast.
10 And Jacob said, Not so; but if I have grace in your eyes, take them as a sign of my love, for I have seen your face as one may see the face of God, and you have been pleased with me.
10 Et Jacob répondit: Non, je te prie, si j'ai trouvé grâce à tes yeux, accepte de ma main mon présent; car c'est pour cela que j'ai regardé ta face comme on regarde la face de Dieu, et tu m'as accueilli favorablement.
10 “Cuir uait,” arsa Iacób, “má tá fabhar faighte agam i do láthair, glac leis an mbronntanas seo ó mo láimh. Óir, de dhéantús na fírinne, tháinig mé i radharc do ghnúise amhail is dá mba i ngnúis Dé, ach ghlac tú chugat mé le dea-mhéin.
10 Y dijo Jacob: No, yo te ruego, si he hallado ahora gracia en tus ojos, toma mi presente de mi mano, pues que así he visto tu rostro, como si hubiera visto el rostro de Dios; y hazme placer.
10 Jakob antwortete: Ach, nicht! Habe ich Gnade gefunden vor dir, so nimm mein Geschenk von meiner Hand; denn ich sah dein Angesicht, als sähe ich Gottes Angesicht; und laß dir's wohl gefallen von mir.
11 Take my offering then, with my blessing; for God has been very good to me and I have enough: so at his strong request, he took it.
11 Accepte donc mon présent qui t'a été offert, puisque Dieu m'a comblé de grâces, et que je ne manque de rien. Il insista auprès de lui, et Ésaü accepta.
11 Glac leis an mbronntanas a thug mé chugat dá bhrí sin; bhí Dia fial liom agus tá mo dhóthain agam.” D'áitigh sé air sa tslí sin agus ghlac sé leis.
11 Toma, te ruego, mi dádiva que te es traída; porque Dios me ha hecho merced, y todo lo que hay aquí es mío. Y porfió con él, y tomóla.
11 Nimm doch den Segen von mir an, den ich dir zugebracht habe; denn Gott hat mir's beschert, und ich habe alles genug. Also nötigte er ihn, daß er's nahm.
12 And he said, Let us go on our journey together, and I will go in front.
12 Ésaü dit: Partons, mettons-nous en route; j'irai devant toi.
12 “Cuirimis chun siúil agus ar aghaidh linn,” arsa Éasau ansin, “agus treoróidh mé thú.”
12 Y dijo: Anda, y vamos; y yo iré delante de ti.
12 Und er sprach: Laß uns fortziehen und reisen, ich will mit dir ziehen.
13 But Jacob said, My lord may see that the children are only small, and there are young ones in my flocks and herds: one day's over-driving will be the destruction of all the flock.
13 Jacob lui répondit: Mon seigneur sait que les enfants sont délicats, et que j'ai des brebis et des vaches qui allaitent; si l'on forçait leur marche un seul jour, tout le troupeau périrait.
13 Ach arsa Iacób leis: “Tá a fhios ag mo mháistir go bhfuil na leanaí leice agus nach mór dom a bheith cáiréiseach leis na tréada agus leis na táinte nuabheirthe. Má thiomáintear ró- dhian iad ar feadh oiread agus lá, gheobhaidh an stoc go léir bás.
13 Y él le dijo: Mi señor sabe que los niños son tiernos, y que tengo ovejas y vacas paridas; y si las fatigan, en un día morirán todas las ovejas.
13 Er aber sprach zu ihm: Mein Herr, du erkennest, daß ich zarte Kinder bei mir habe, dazu säugende Schafe und Kühe; wenn sie einen Tag übertrieben würden, würde mir die ganze Herde sterben.
14 Do you, my lord, go on before your servant; I will come on slowly, at the rate at which the cattle and the children are able to go, till I come to my lord at Seir.
14 Que mon seigneur prenne les devants sur son serviteur; et moi, je suivrai lentement, au pas du troupeau qui me précédera, et au pas des enfants, jusqu'à ce que j'arrive chez mon seigneur, à Séir.
14 Imíodh mo mháistir ar aghaidh, lena thoil, roimh a shearbhónta, agus leanfaidh mé é go mall réidh, de réir mar a oireann don stoc atá á dtiomáint agam agus do na leanaí, go dtí go dtiocfaidh mé suas le mo mháistir i Saeír.”
14 Pase ahora mi señor delante de su siervo, y yo me iré poco á poco al paso de la hacienda que va delante de mí, y al paso de los niños, hasta que llegue á mi señor á Seir.
14 Mein Herr ziehe vor seinem Knechte hin. Ich will gemächlich hintennach treiben, nach dem das Vieh und die Kinder gehen können, bis daß ich komme zu meinem Herrn nach Seir.
15 And Esau said, Then keep some of my men with you. And he said, What need is there for that, if my lord is pleased with me?
15 Ésaü dit: Je veux au moins laisser avec toi une partie de mes gens. Et Jacob répondit: Pourquoi cela? Que je trouve seulement grâce aux yeux de mon seigneur!
15 Ansin dúirt Éasau: “Lig dom cuid den mhuintir atá i mo theannta a fhágáil farat.” D'fhreagair seisean: “Cén gá atá leis sin? Níl uaim ach do dhea-mhéin a thuilleamh, a mháistir.”
15 Y Esaú dijo: Dejaré ahora contigo de la gente que viene conmigo. Y él dijo: ¿Para qué esto? halle yo gracia en los ojos de mi señor.
15 Esau sprach: So will ich doch etliche bei dir lassen vom Volk, das mit mir ist. Er antwortete: Was ist's vonnöten? Laß mich nur Gnade vor meinem Herrn finden.
16 So Esau, turning back that day, went on his way to Seir.
16 Le même jour, Ésaü reprit le chemin de Séir.
16 Lean Éasau ar aghaidh dá bhrí sin an lá sin ar an mbealach go dtí Saeír.
16 Así se volvió Esaú aquel día por su camino á Seir.
16 Also zog des Tages Esau wiederum seines Weges gen Seir.
17 And Jacob went on to Succoth, where he made a house for himself and put up tents for his cattle: for this reason the place was named Succoth.
17 Jacob partit pour Succoth. Il bâtit une maison pour lui, et il fit des cabanes pour ses troupeaux. C'est pourquoi l'on a appelé ce lieu de nom de Succoth.
17 Agus shroich Iacób Sucót agus thóg teach dó féin agus rinne sé scáileáin dá airneis; uime sin a fuair an áit an t‑ainm Sucót [Scáileáin]. Iacób i Seicim
17 Y Jacob se partió á Succoth, y edificó allí casa para sí, é hizo cabañas para su ganado: por tanto llamó el nombre de aquel lugar Succoth.
17 Und Jakob zog gen Sukkoth und baute sich ein Haus und machte seinem Vieh Hütten; daher heißt die Stätte Sukkoth.
18 So Jacob came safely from Paddan-aram to the town of Shechem in the land of Canaan, and put up his tents near the town.
18 A son retour de Paddan Aram, Jacob arriva heureusement à la ville de Sichem, dans le pays de Canaan, et il campa devant la ville.
18 Tháinig Iacób slán folláin go cathair Sheicim i dtír Chanán ar theacht dó as Padan Arám, agus shuigh sé a champa os comhair na cathrach.
18 Y vino Jacob sano á la ciudad de Sichêm, que está en la tierra de Canaán, cuando venía de Padan-aram; y acampó delante de la ciudad.
18 Darnach zog Jakob mit Frieden zu der Stadt Sichems, die im Lande Kanaan liegt (nachdem er aus Mesopotamien gekommen war), und machte sein Lager vor der Stadt
19 And for a hundred bits of money he got from the children of Hamor, the builder of Shechem, the field in which he had put up his tents.
19 Il acheta la portion du champ où il avait dressé sa tente, des fils d'Hamor, père de Sichem, pour cent kesita.
19 Agus an láthair ar ar chuir sé suas a bhoth cheannaigh sé í ar chéad bonn airgid ó chlann Hamór, athair Sheicim.
19 Y compró una parte del campo, donde tendió su tienda, de mano de los hijos de Hamor, padre de Sichêm, por cien piezas de moneda.
19 und kaufte ein Stück Acker von den Kindern Hemors, des Vaters Sichems, um hundert Groschen; daselbst richtete er seine Hütte auf.
20 And there he put up an altar, naming it El, the God of Israel.
20 Et là, il éleva un autel, qu'il appela El Élohé Israël.
