1 Now the Lord came to him by the holy tree of Mamre, when he was seated in the doorway of his tent in the middle of the day;
1 L'Éternel lui apparut parmi les chênes de Mamré, comme il était assis à l'entrée de sa tente, pendant la chaleur du jour.

1 Und der HERR erschien ihm im Hain Mamre, da saß er an der Tür seiner Hütte, da der Tag am heißesten war.
2 And lifting up his eyes, he saw three men before him; and seeing them, he went quickly to them from the door of the tent, and went down on his face to the earth;
2 Il leva les yeux, et regarda: et voici, trois hommes étaient debout près de lui. Quand il les vit, il courut au-devant d'eux, depuis l'entrée de sa tente, et se prosterna en terre.
2 D'fhéach sé suas agus b'shiúd triúr fear ina seasamh ina chóngar. Chomh luath agus a chonaic sé iad, rith sé ó bhéal na botha ina gcoinne agus shléacht go talamh rompu.
2 Y alzó sus ojos y miró, y he aquí tres varones que estaban junto á él: y cuando los vió, salió corriendo de la puerta de su tienda á recibirlos, é inclinóse hacia la tierra,
2 Und als er seine Augen aufhob und sah, siehe, da standen drei Männer vor ihm. Und da er sie sah, lief er ihnen entgegen von der Tür seiner Hütte und bückte sich nieder zur Erde
3 And said, My Lord, if now I have grace in your eyes, do not go away from your servant:
3 Et il dit: Seigneur, si j'ai trouvé grâce à tes yeux, ne passe point, je te prie, loin de ton serviteur.
3 “A thiarna,” ar sé, “más áil leat mé, ná gabh thar do shearbhónta, le do thoil.
3 Y dijo: Señor, si ahora he hallado gracia en tus ojos, ruégote que no pases de tu siervo.
3 und sprach: HERR, habe ich Gnade gefunden vor deinen Augen, so gehe nicht an deinem Knecht vorüber.
4 Let me get water for washing your feet, and take your rest under the tree:
4 Permettez qu'on apporte un peu d'eau, pour vous laver les pieds; et reposez-vous sous cet arbre.

4 Que se traiga ahora un poco de agua, y lavad vuestros pies; y recostaos debajo de un árbol,
4 Man soll euch ein wenig Wasser bringen und eure Füße waschen, und lehnt euch unter den Baum.
5 And let me get a bit of bread to keep up your strength, and after that you may go on your way: for this is why you have come to your servant. And they said, Let it be so.
5 J'irai prendre un morceau de pain, pour fortifier votre coeur; après quoi, vous continuerez votre route; car c'est pour cela que vous passez près de votre serviteur. Ils répondirent: Fais comme tu l'as dit.
5 Tabharfaidh mé greim aráin chugaibh agus bíodh lón agaibh don bhóthar ar aghaidh. Chuige sin a casadh i dtreo bhur searbhónta sibh.” “Déan mar a deir tú,” ar siad.
5 Y traeré un bocado de pan, y sustentad vuestro corazón; después pasaréis: porque por eso habéis pasado cerca de vuestro siervo. Y ellos dijeron: Haz así como has dicho.
5 Und ich will einen Bissen Brot bringen, daß ihr euer Herz labt; darnach sollt ihr fortgehen. Denn darum seid ihr zu eurem Knecht gekommen. Sie sprachen: Tue wie du gesagt hast.
6 Then Abraham went quickly into the tent, and said to Sarah, Get three measures of meal straight away and make cakes.
6 Abraham alla promptement dans sa tente vers Sara, et il dit: Vite, trois mesures de fleur de farine, pétris, et fais des gâteaux.
6 Bhrostaigh Abrahám don bhoth go Sárá. “Faigh,” ar sé, “agus fuin trí mhiosúr de phlúr agus déan builíní.”
6 Entonces Abraham fué de priesa á la tienda á Sara, y le dijo: Toma presto tres medidas de flor de harina, amasa y haz panes cocidos debajo del rescoldo.
6 Abraham eilte in die Hütte zu Sara und sprach: Eile und menge drei Maß Semmelmehl, knete und backe Kuchen.
7 And running to the herd, he took a young ox, soft and fat, and gave it to the servant and he quickly made it ready;
7 Et Abraham courut à son troupeau, prit un veau tendre et bon, et le donna à un serviteur, qui se hâta de l'apprêter.
7 Agus rith Abrahám chun an tréada agus rug sé leis lao breá méith agus thug don searbhónta é agus d'ullmhaigh seisean é faoi dheifir.
7 Y corrió Abraham á las vacas, y tomó un becerro tierno y bueno, y diólo al mozo, y dióse éste priesa á aderezarlo.
7 Er aber lief zu den Rindern und holte ein zartes, gutes Kalb und gab's dem Knechte; der eilte und bereitete es zu.
8 And he took butter and milk and the young ox which he had made ready and put it before them, waiting by them under the tree while they took food.
8 Il prit encore de la crème et du lait, avec le veau qu'on avait apprêté, et il les mit devant eux. Il se tint lui-même à leurs côtés, sous l'arbre. Et ils mangèrent.
8 Thug sé leis ansin gruth agus bainne agus an lao a bhí réidh aige agus leag sé an chóir sin go léir rompu agus fad a bhíodar ag ithe sheas sé láimh leo faoin gcrann.
8 Tomó también manteca y leche, y el becerro que había aderezado, y púsolo delante de ellos; y él estaba junto á ellos debajo del árbol; y comieron.
8 Und er trug auf Butter und Milch und von dem Kalbe, das er zubereitet hatte, und setzte es ihnen vor und blieb stehen vor ihnen unter dem Baum, und sie aßen.
9 And they said to him, Where is Sarah your wife? And he said, She is in the tent.
9 Alors ils lui dirent: Où est Sara, ta femme? Il répondit: Elle est là, dans la tente.
9 Agus chuireadar ceist air: “Cá bhfuil do bhean Sárá?” “Tá sí sa bhoth,” ar sé.
9 Y le dijeron: ¿Dónde está Sara tu mujer? Y él respondió: Aquí en la tienda.

10 And he said, I will certainly come back to you in the spring, and Sarah your wife will have a son. And his words came to the ears of Sarah who was at the back of the tent-door.
10 L'un d'entre eux dit: Je reviendrai vers toi à cette même époque; et voici, Sara, ta femme, aura un fils. Sara écoutait à l'entrée de la tente, qui était derrière lui.

10 Da sprach er: Ich will wieder zu dir kommen über ein Jahr; siehe, so soll Sara, dein Weib, einen Sohn haben. Das hörte Sara hinter ihm, hinter der Tür der Hütte.
11 Now Abraham and Sarah were very old, and Sarah was past the time for giving birth.
11 Abraham et Sara étaient vieux, avancés en âge: et Sara ne pouvait plus espérer avoir des enfants.

12 And Sarah, laughing to herself, said, Now that I am used up am I still to have pleasure, my husband himself being old?
12 Elle rit en elle-même, en disant: Maintenant que je suis vieille, aurais-je encore des désirs? Mon seigneur aussi est vieux.
12 Ansin gháir Sárá léi féin á rá: “An amhlaidh a bheidh sólás agam le m'fhear céile anois agus mé thar aois leanbh a iompar, agus eisean aosta chomh maith?”
12 Rióse, pues, Sara entre sí, diciendo: ¿Después que he envejecido tendré deleite, siendo también mi señor ya viejo?
12 Darum lachte sie bei sich selbst und sprach: Nun ich alt bin, soll ich noch Wollust pflegen, und mein Herr ist auch alt?
13 And the Lord said, Why was Sarah laughing and saying, Is it possible for me, being old, to give birth to a child?
13 L'Éternel dit à Abraham: Pourquoi donc Sara a-t-elle ri, en disant: Est-ce que vraiment j'aurais un enfant, moi qui suis vieille?
13 Ach d'fhiafraigh an Tiarna d'Abrahám: “Cén fáth ar gháir Sárá á rá: ‘An amhlaidh dáiríre a bheidh leanbh agam anois i mo sheanaois?’
13 Entonces Jehová dijo á Abraham: ¿Por qué se ha reído Sara diciendo: Será cierto que he de parir siendo ya vieja?
13 Da sprach der HERR zu Abraham: Warum lacht Sara und spricht: Meinst du, das es wahr sei, daß ich noch gebären werde, so ich doch alt bin?
14 Is there any wonder which the Lord is not able to do? At the time I said, in the spring, I will come back to you, and Sarah will have a child.
14 Y a-t-il rien qui soit étonnant de la part de l'Éternel? Au temps fixé je reviendrai vers toi, à cette même époque; et Sara aura un fils.
14 An bhfuil aon ní ró-aisteach don Tiarna? Fillfidh mé, oraibh, sea, fillfidh mé um an dtaca seo an bhliain seo chugainn agus beidh mac ag Sárá.”
14 ¿Hay para Dios alguna cosa difícil? Al tiempo señalado volveré á ti, según el tiempo de la vida, y Sara tendrá un hijo.
14 Sollte dem HERRN etwas unmöglich sein? Um diese Zeit will ich wieder zu dir kommen über ein Jahr, so soll Sara einen Sohn haben.
15 Then Sarah said, I was not laughing; for she was full of fear. And he said, No, but you were laughing.
15 Sara mentit, en disant: Je n'ai pas ri. Car elle eut peur. Mais il dit: Au contraire, tu as ri.
15 “Níor gháir mé,” arsa Sárá ag séanadh a birt mar go raibh eagla uirthi. “Ní fíor duit,” ar sé, “mar gháir tú.” Sodom agus Gomorá
15 Entonces Sara negó diciendo: No me reí; porque tuve miedo. Y él dijo: No es así, sino que te has reído.
15 Da leugnete Sara und sprach: Ich habe nicht gelacht; denn sie fürchtete sich. Aber er sprach: Es ist nicht also; du hast gelacht.
16 And the men went on from there in the direction of Sodom; and Abraham went with them on their way.
16 Ces hommes se levèrent pour partir, et ils regardèrent du côté de Sodome. Abraham alla avec eux, pour les accompagner.
16 Chuir na fir chun bóthair agus tháinig i radharc Shodom agus Abrahám in éineacht leo ag taispeáint na slí dóibh.
16 Y los varones se levantaron de allí, y miraron hacia Sodoma: y Abraham iba con ellos acompañándolos.
16 Da standen die Männer auf von dannen und wandten sich gegen Sodom; und Abraham ging mit ihnen, daß er sie geleitete.
17 And the Lord said, Am I to keep back from Abraham the knowledge of what I do;
17 Alors l'Éternel dit: Cacherai-je à Abraham ce que je vais faire?...
17 Dúirt an Tiarna leis féin: “An gceilfidh mé ar Abrahám an ní atáim ar tí a dhéanamh,
17 Y Jehová dijo: ¿Encubriré yo á Abraham lo que voy á hacer,
17 Da sprach der HERR: Wie kann ich Abraham verbergen, was ich tue,
18 Seeing that Abraham will certainly become a great and strong nation, and his name will be used by all the nations of the earth as a blessing?
18 Abraham deviendra certainement une nation grande et puissante, et en lui seront bénies toutes les nations de la terre.
18 ós rud é go mbeidh Abrahám ina chine mór cumasach agus ciníocha an domhain á mbeannú féin tríd?
18 Habiendo de ser Abraham en una nación grande y fuerte, y habiendo de ser benditas en él todas las gentes de la tierra?
18 sintemal er ein großes und mächtiges Volk soll werden, und alle Völker auf Erden in ihm gesegnet werden sollen?
19 For I have made him mine so that he may give orders to his children and those of his line after him, to keep the ways of the Lord, to do what is good and right: so that the Lord may do to Abraham as he has said.
19 Car je l'ai choisi, afin qu'il ordonne à ses fils et à sa maison après lui de garder la voie de l'Éternel, en pratiquant la droiture et la justice, et qu'ainsi l'Éternel accomplisse en faveur d'Abraham les promesses qu'il lui a faites...
19 [Ní dhéanfaidh mé] óir thogh mé é d'fhonn go dtabharfadh sé aithne dá chlann agus dá theaghlach ina dhiaidh slí an Tiarna a choimeád ag déanamh an chirt agus na córa, i dtreo go dtabharfadh an Tiarna d'Abrahám a bhfuil geallta aige dó.”
19 Porque yo lo he conocido, sé que mandará á sus hijos y á su casa después de sí, que guarden el camino de Jehová, haciendo justicia y juicio, para que haga venir Jehová sobre Abraham lo que ha hablado acerca de él.
19 Denn ich weiß, er wird befehlen seinen Kindern und seinem Hause nach ihm, daß sie des HERRN Wege halten und tun, was recht und gut ist, auf daß der HERR auf Abraham kommen lasse, was er ihm verheißen hat.
20 And the Lord said, Because the outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is very great, and their sin is very evil,
20 Et l'Éternel dit: Le cri contre Sodome et Gomorrhe s'est accru, et leur péché est énorme.
20 Ansin dúirt an Tiarna: “Nach ard é an liú atá in aghaidh Shodom agus Ghomorá agus nach mór é a bpeaca agus nach trom!
20 Entonces Jehová le dijo: Por cuanto el clamor de Sodoma y Gomorra se aumenta más y más, y el pecado de ellos se ha agravado en extremo,
20 Und der HERR sprach: Es ist ein Geschrei zu Sodom und Gomorra, das ist groß, und ihre Sünden sind sehr schwer.
21 I will go down now, and see if their acts are as bad as they seem from the outcry which has come to me; and if they are not, I will see.
21 C'est pourquoi je vais descendre, et je verrai s'ils ont agi entièrement selon le bruit venu jusqu'à moi; et si cela n'est pas, je le saurai.
21 Rachaidh mé síos féachaint an ndearnadar de réir an liú a tháinig chugam ina n‑aghaidh; agus mura ndearnadar, beidh a fhios agam.”
21 Descenderé ahora, y veré si han consumado su obra según el clamor que ha venido hasta mí; y si no, saberlo he.
21 Darum will ich hinabfahren und sehen, ob sie alles getan haben nach dem Geschrei, das vor mich gekommen ist, oder ob's nicht also sei, daß ich's wisse.
22 And the men, turning from that place, went on to Sodom: but Abraham was still waiting before the Lord.
22 Les hommes s'éloignèrent, et allèrent vers Sodome. Mais Abraham se tint encore en présence de l'Éternel.
22 D'imigh na fir leo i dtreo Shodom, ach d'fhan Abrahám ina sheasamh i láthair an Tiarna.
22 Y apartáronse de allí los varones, y fueron hacia Sodoma: mas Abraham estaba aún delante de Jehová.
22 Und die Männer wandten ihr Angesicht und gingen gen Sodom; aber Abraham blieb stehen vor dem HERRN
23 And Abraham came near, and said, Will you let destruction come on the upright with the sinners?
23 Abraham s'approcha, et dit: Feras-tu aussi périr le juste avec le méchant?
23 Dhruid sé níos giorra dó agus dúirt: “An scriosfaidh tú dáiríre an fíréan mar aon leis an gciontach?
23 Y acercóse Abraham y dijo: ¿Destruirás también al justo con el impío?
23 und trat zu ihm und sprach: Willst du denn den Gerechten mit dem Gottlosen umbringen?
24 If by chance there are fifty upright men in the town, will you give the place to destruction and not have mercy on it because of the fifty upright men?
24 Peut-être y a-t-il cinquante justes au milieu de la ville: les feras-tu périr aussi, et ne pardonneras-tu pas à la ville à cause des cinquante justes qui sont au milieu d'elle?
24 Abair go bhfuil leathchéad fíréan sa chathair, an scriosfaidh tú í mar sin agus gan í a chaomhnú ar son an leathchéad fíréan atá inti?
24 Quizá hay cincuenta justos dentro de la ciudad: ¿destruirás también y no perdonarás al lugar por cincuenta justos que estén dentro de él?
24 Es mögen vielleicht fünfzig Gerechte in der Stadt sein; wolltest du die umbringen und dem Ort nicht vergeben um fünfzig Gerechter willen, die darin wären?
25 Let such a thing be far from you, to put the upright to death with the sinner: will not the judge of all the earth do right?
25 Faire mourir le juste avec le méchant, en sorte qu'il en soit du juste comme du méchant, loin de toi cette manière d'agir! loin de toi! Celui qui juge toute la terre n'exercera-t-il pas la justice?
25 Go mba fhada uait a leithéid a dhéanamh, an fíréan a chur chun báis mar aon leis an gciontach; d'fhágfadh sin an íde chéanna á tabhairt ar an bhfíréan agus ar an gciontach! I bhfad uait a leithéid! An amhlaidh nach ndéanfaidh breitheamh an domhain uile an ceart?”
25 Lejos de ti el hacer tal, que hagas morir al justo con el impío y que sea el justo tratado como el impío; nunca tal hagas. El juez de toda la tierra, ¿no ha de hacer lo que es justo?
25 Das sei ferne von dir, daß du das tust und tötest den Gerechten mit dem Gottlosen, daß der Gerechte sei gleich wie der Gottlose! Das sei ferne von dir, der du aller Welt Richter bist! Du wirst so nicht richten.
26 And the Lord said, If there are fifty upright men in the town, I will have mercy on it because of them.
26 Et l'Éternel dit: Si je trouve dans Sodome cinquante justes au milieu de la ville, je pardonnerai à toute la ville, à cause d'eux.
26 D'fhreagair an Tiarna: “Má fhaighim leathchéad fíréan i Sodom; sa chathair, ansin déanfaidh mé an áit go léir a chaomhnú ar a son.”
26 Entonces respondió Jehová: Si hallare en Sodoma cincuenta justos dentro de la ciudad, perdonaré á todo este lugar por amor de ellos.
26 Der HERR sprach: Finde ich fünfzig Gerechte zu Sodom in der Stadt, so will ich um ihrer willen dem ganzen Ort vergeben.
27 And Abraham answering said, Truly, I who am only dust, have undertaken to put my thoughts before the Lord:
27 Abraham reprit, et dit: Voici, j'ai osé parler au Seigneur, moi qui ne suis que poudre et cendre.
27 “Seo mé,” arsa Abrahám á fhreagairt, “agus é de dhánaíocht ionam labhairt mar seo le mo Thiarna, agus gan ionam ach cré agus luaithreach.
27 Y Abraham replicó y dijo: He aquí ahora que he comenzado á hablar á mi Señor, aunque soy polvo y ceniza:
27 Abraham antwortete und sprach: Ach siehe, ich habe mich unterwunden zu reden mit dem HERRN, wie wohl ich Erde und Asche bin.
28 If by chance there are five less than fifty upright men, will you give up all the town to destruction because of these five? And he said, I will not give it to destruction if there are forty-five.
28 Peut-être des cinquante justes en manquera-t-il cinq: pour cinq, détruiras-tu toute la ville? Et l'Éternel dit: Je ne la détruirai point, si j'y trouve quarante-cinq justes.
28 Abair go bhfuil cúigear in easnamh ar an leathchéad, an scriosfaidh tú an chathair go léir de dheasca cúigir?” “Ní dhéanfaidh mé,” ar sé, “ní scriosfaidh mé má fhaighim cúigear is daichead inti.”
28 Quizá faltarán de cincuenta justos cinco: ¿destruirás por aquellos cinco toda la ciudad? Y dijo: No la destruiré, si hallare allí cuarenta y cinco.
28 Es möchten vielleicht fünf weniger den fünfzig Gerechte darin sein; wolltest du denn die ganze Stadt verderben um der fünf willen? Er sprach: Finde ich darin fünfundvierzig, so will ich sie nicht verderben.
29 And again he said to him, By chance there may be forty there. And he said, I will not do it if there are forty.
29 Abraham continua de lui parler, et dit: Peut-être s'y trouvera-t-il quarante justes. Et l'Éternel dit: Je ne ferai rien, à cause de ces quarante.
29 Agus labhair sé leis arís: “Abair,” ar sé, “gur daichead a gheofar inti.” “Ní dhéanfaidh mé,” ar seisean, “ar son daichead.”
29 Y volvió á hablarle, y dijo: Quizá se hallarán allí cuarenta. Y respondió: No lo haré por amor de los cuarenta.
29 Und er fuhr fort mit ihm zu reden und sprach: Man möchte vielleicht vierzig darin finden. Er aber sprach: Ich will ihnen nichts tun um der vierzig willen.
30 And he said, Let not the Lord be angry with me if I say, What if there are thirty there? And he said, I will not do it if there are thirty.
30 Abraham dit: Que le Seigneur ne s'irrite point, et je parlerai. Peut-être s'y trouvera-t-il trente justes. Et l'Éternel dit: Je ne ferai rien, si j'y trouve trente justes.
30 “Ná bíodh an Tiarna i bhfearg liom,” ar sé ansin, “agus labhróidh mé arís. Abair gur tríocha a gheofar inti.” D'fhreagair seisean: “Ní dhéanfaidh mé, má fhaighim tríocha ann.”
30 Y dijo: No se enoje ahora mi Señor, si hablare: quizá se hallarán allí treinta. Y respondió: No lo haré si hallare allí treinta.
30 Abraham sprach: Zürne nicht, HERR, daß ich noch mehr rede. Man möchte vielleicht dreißig darin finden. Er aber sprach: Finde ich dreißig darin, so will ich ihnen nichts tun.
31 And he said, See now, I have undertaken to put my thoughts before the Lord: what if there are twenty there? And he said, I will have mercy because of the twenty.
31 Abraham dit: Voici, j'ai osé parler au Seigneur. Peut-être s'y trouvera-t-il vingt justes. Et l'Éternel dit: Je ne la détruirai point, à cause de ces vingt.
31 “Tá sé de dhánaíocht ionam,” arsa Abrahám ansin, “labhairt leis an Tiarna. Abair gur fiche a gheofar inti.” “Ní scriosfaidh mé í, ar son fichead.”
31 Y dijo: He aquí ahora que he emprendido el hablar á mi Señor: quizá se hallarán allí veinte. No la destruiré, respondió, por amor de los veinte.
31 Und er sprach: Ach siehe, ich habe mich unterwunden mit dem HERRN zu reden. Man möchte vielleicht zwanzig darin finden. Er antwortete: Ich will sie nicht verderben um der zwanzig willen.
32 And he said, O let not the Lord be angry and I will say only one word more: by chance there may be ten there. And he said, I will have mercy because of the ten.
32 Abraham dit: Que le Seigneur ne s'irrite point, et je ne parlerai plus que cette fois. Peut-être s'y trouvera-t-il dix justes. Et l'Éternel dit: Je ne la détruirai point, à cause de ces dix justes.
32 Ansin dúirt sé: “Ná bíodh an Tiarna i bhfearg liom agus labhróidh mé aon uair amháin eile. Abair gur deichniúr a gheofar ann.” D'fhreagair sé: “Ní scriosfaidh mé í, ar son deichniúir.”
32 Y volvió á decir: No se enoje ahora mi Señor, si hablare solamente una vez: quizá se hallarán allí diez. No la destruiré, respondió, por amor de los diez.
32 Und er sprach: Ach zürne nicht, HERR, daß ich nur noch einmal rede. Man möchte vielleicht zehn darin finden. Er aber sprach: Ich will sie nicht verderben um der zehn willen.
33 And the Lord went on his way when his talk with Abraham was ended, and Abraham went back to his place.
